“Simply a Kansas girl” is the best way to describe Roxann Delaney. Born, raised and having always lived in the Sunflower State, she’s also traveled to 48 states, Canada, Mexico and Cuba.

Books and reading have always been a major part of her life, but theater and performing arts called to her in high school and she later became one of the founders of a community theatre. She's come to the conclusion that reading, writing and acting are nothing more than ways to become someone else…at least in her own mind.

Roxann has lived on a farm, in a small town and has returned with her four daughters and grandchildren to live in the city where she was born. Books and reading are an integral part of not only her life, but her family's as well. Her oldest granddaughter is named Scarlett (yes, of Gone with the Wind fame).

When she isn’t writing or reading, she's designing Web sites and keeping in touch with friends, both old and new. She is proud to be one of the Ditzy Chix, is a member of WARA (Wichita Area Romance Authors) and enjoys sharing happy-ever-after stories with readers.

I found this to be an odd book. I like some parts of it but found others strange. I liked that this story took the time to build the relationship between the characters but then there wasn't enough time to truly expand upon feelings etc, so in the end it felt a little rushed. Also, there could have been a lot more chemistry between them, I didn't quite feel it as much as I should have.

The characters were ok but I had an issue with some of Garret's actions towards the end. I don't want to give anything away but he is both unobservant and stupid not to notice when someone is being threatening and when a woman and child are clearly terrified. I was stunned at his actions to be honest.

Other than that this is an interesting enough read.

This is a new cover on an old story (from 2011), with the same title and blurb, with nothing new or different, taken out of its original series and put into another linked by a similar theme: fatherhood. Having said that, I’ve not read any of the rest of the Hearts of Desperation series and I got along just fine.

I really enjoyed this. It’s sweet and clean, with likeable characters and emotional situations. Garrett might not have been looking for deeper commitments in his busy life, but I loved the way he instantly stepped up for little Sophie. I also liked how he tried to help Libby without taking over. Plus his relationship with Noah is great.

I liked Libby too, though she has a lot to work through. Her trust issues are understandable, but she’s still a great mother and the way she cares for Sophie too is lovely. They’re a great team and I enjoyed seeing all four of them form bonds and come together.

Of course, it’s not all plain sailing with a troublesome past and a not-perfect present, but if you like sweet romances with cute kids and people slowly falling in love through shared troubles, then you might enjoy this. I know I did.

Bachelor Dad by Roxann Delany is a Mills and Boon American Romance. Set in Desperation, Garrett Miles, an attorney receives a package, his four year old little girl that he didn't know he had! Libby Carter and her son, Noah, also live in the town after fleeing her abusive husband when she lost custody of Noah to him. She is eeking out a living as a waitress and desperately needs child care as does Garrett. They come to an arrangement, minding each others child. Garrett is not aware Libby is on the run until her ex husband turns up to drag her home. You will have to find out the ending!

Bachelor Dad is a very clean cut all American romance. Unlike the Mills and Boon Modern series it is very clean cut, sweet romance (no explicit sex scenes). The book focuses on Libby's trust issues, Garrett's determination to step up and learn to be a dad, his relationship with Noah and his past experiences as a child custody/divorce attorney colouring his opinion of Libby and her ex which very nearly leads to tragic consequences.

I haven't read any of this authors work, but I will after this . I love stories like this, where single dads, who aren't ashamed to ask for help, get so much more...The characters, especially the kids were well written

Overall such a lovely Story
