About the author

I’ve wanted to write books for adults for as long as I can remember but I was too scared to try. One day I decided to be brave and dipped a toe into the bubble bath of romantic comedy with my first novella, Cupidity, and I’ve never looked back. I often try to be funny to be funny, except for when faced with traffic wardens and border control staff. My favourite thing is making people smile.

I’ve tried many jobs over the years, from barmaid to market researcher and I even had a brief flirtation with modelling. These days I am mostly found writing.

I live near London with my grey tabby cat, Portia. We both have an unhealthy obsession with Marmite.

The sisters roles have reversed, they certainly have changed since arriving at the star and sixpence. There are many twists and turns in this book involving a brother and pregnancy. I can't wait to read the next part, it's the type of book you want to know what happens next but don't want to finish at the same time.

It was lovely to be re-united with sisters Nessie and Sam, landladies of "The Star and Sixpence" pub and the other characters of Little Monkham.

Due to the success of the pub, Nessie and Sam have recruited top chef Gabe to create fabulousness in the kitchen for them. Spaniard Gabe is a hit with the women of the village due to his looks, which are not lost on Sam. Meanwhile, the sisters receive a surprise visitor in the form of Laurie - a brother they were not aware existed.

Author, Holly Hepburn has done it again - I absolutely loved this book, can't wait till the end of the month for the next instalment.

Book 1 of a 4 part book series. Note to readers, you can either read this as a 4 part book series like I’m going to or there is a full length novel which includes all of the 4 parts should you prefer to read it in that format. Also before reading this 4 part series or the full length book, make sure you have read the series that comes before this series, being Star and Sixpence which comprises of 4 short shorties or one full length novel.

So it’s been an absolute delight being reacquainted with the two sisters Nessie and Sam along with their friends, loved ones, Owen, Luke, Ruby, Franny, Henry, Tilly and Connor, but also welcoming some new characters too.

It’s good to see Nessie and Owen still doing well, and that they are living together, yay them. Was sad to see that Sam and Joss have parted ways, but to be fair I always did think it seemed more of a fling than anything serious. But in this part one, Sam meets Gabe, her latest new love interest, time will tell if it’s to be a fling or more serious.

Also met new character Laurie, a long lost brother, not quite sure what to make of him or that he’s being completely honest, I think he has a hidden agenda, but I guess time will tell as I read on in the series.

So part two coming straight up.

It's great to rejoin Sam and Nessie back in Little Monkham. Having loved reading The star and Sixpence earlier in the year, I couldn't wait to get stuck in to this book and find out what everyone is upto.

This book is a brilliant next installment, I can't wait for the next part in November.

The Star & Sixpence is changing thanks to sisters, Sam and Nessie. Nessie now lives with her boyfriend, Owen and his son Luke and Sam has hired a new live-in Chef who she finds herself very attracted to but she still stings from her last relationship and she's not letting a new one start. And, so she thinks........

Just a fun short read.

Wow! I feel like I have been on an emotional rollercoaster with Sam and Nessie. This is a mammoth story involving every emotion possible. There is a real feeling of involvement with the villagers and I think I have lived through every experience with them all. Really looking forward to the next instalment.

Whilst I am still enjoying the characters and their stories I think releasing these in monthly intervals is a mistake. There is not enough of the story to really get going, it is rushed and I feel cheated.

Love this series

It’s September and the new season is bringing change to the village of Little Monkham. After having read the previous series of the Star and Sixpence stories I was really excited to see that there is a brand new set of books and am looking forward to the next instalment when it is released.

These novellas are a great option when you are in between books as they are short but always really enjoyable and the characters feel like old friends. I have read all of Holly Hepburn’s novella series to date but the Star and Sixpence has to be my favourite series.
