Hearing the strange noises all night long, Elliot the Moose is comforted by his friend Beaverton who tells him that they are simply the creaks and bangs of the old house, but when he is woken up by even stranger noises later in the evening, Elliot begins to think that something else is going on. This story just could keep your toddler sleeping with you. Although it does explain the reasons for the night noises, I still suspect slumber parties will be on the agenda following this story.
Elliot is a small moose stuffed animal who lives with a whole community of other small stuffed animals. There is a whole series of picture books about Elliot Moose. Elliot's Noisy Night is a fabulous story about a topic to which every child can relate - being afraid of noises they hear at night. This is a great book to have on hand for children who wake up at night scared of noises they hear. It is also a great book to read ahead of time so that children will see that Elliot learned that night noises are not as scary as he had thought at first. An excellent book!
This is one of my 4yo boys favorite books. We read it almost every night. It's about the noises that Elliot hears at night. My kids love when I make the sounds that all the various noises make, and they try to guess what the noises are before Elliot does.
Definitely recommended for toddlers. Makes great bed time reading.
Elliot is scared at night because of all the weird noises. When his friend Beaverton explains about the shutters swinging and the furnace knocking he relaxes. However, his friends don't! Eventually all the friends are having a sleepover in Elliot's room, but he's happy and content and sleeps just fine, despite all the "noise." A fun group read aloud on a theme of night, noise, or friendship.
Elliot Moose is scared because he hears all sorts of noises during the night. He friend, Beaverton, explains what makes those noises and Elliot finds he's not so scared anymore. The same can't be said for all his friends.
