Ding dong the bitch is dead. The wicked old bitch is dead. Why the hell that damn song keeps running through my mind beats the hell out of me. But at least it’s helping keep this fucking plastic smile on my face. Standing here next to my Dad, will these people ever stop coming by to tell him how sorry they are for his loss. If one more person pats me on my arm or tries to hug me I just might, no hell no I won’t do anything but stand right here and take it. “I am so sorry for your loss. She loved your Dad so much. I just don’t know what he’s going to do without her.” Ding dong the bitch is dead the fucking bitch is dead.

This story is another in the Texas Heat Series. It is the story of Kane and Jessie. It starts with Kane coming home for his stepmother's funeral. A woman he did not like. He had planned on leaving after the funeral but then he became reacquainted with Jessie. Jessie is the sister of his former lover. Jesse's sister finds out that Kane is back in town and tries to get back in his life. He has known Jessie many years and believes she is too young for him. The story tells of things that had happened to Jessie in the past of which Kane was unaware. When trouble returns to Cripple Creek everybody is ready. The fall out from previous incidents continues to come back to haunt the Stone Brothers and others in this little town. Many of the characters from previous books show up in here. Although this book can be read as a standalone it is nice to read the series to understand all the references to previous problems.
Kanes Way- Cree Nations: Men of Texas Heat This is the first book I've read in this series however, you don't have to read any of the books to enjoy this one but it would be good to, as to get a feel for the other characters and the rest of the series. I was amazed at how good this book is! I loved it! Received this ARC and am leaving an honest review.
Kane came home to help his father. Jessie has been taking care of a cafe and dealing with her sister. All hell breaks loose when someone tries to take her. This story had me screaming, crying and cheering. Fantastic story to add to your amazing series.
