One day, humanity is hurled into chaos as zombies appear throughout the world. These new monsters will chase for miles; they'll stalk and hide in ambush; they don't eat or drink; their singular goal is to spread the infection to everyone–and every thing –in their path. The few people who make it through the initial wave struggle to survive in this horrifying new reality. Will anyone learn to live in this new world? Or will this be the end of humankind? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The story follows several different characters in their fight for survival as these cunning and quick new monsters take over the world. Abigail tries to find her family. Nathaniel seeks shelter. Charlie stands her ground and refuses to leave her farm. Evie and Eric face challenges they'd never dreamed of. Brad and his father head west, as far from civilization as they can get. Paths cross and intertwine. Who will make it out alive? Who won't? And who will end up as the monsters in between?
I absolutely love zombie books, post apocalyptic books. This one certainly did not disappoint. I was a little frustrated by the multiple pov's but once I finished the book I understand why and it was brilliant. If you love survival, zombie, post apocalyptic books this is a must read.
Thank you C. Britt for the opportunity to read this.
WOW!! THIS IS THE BEST ZOMBIE BOOK I’VE EVER READ!!!!
The whole zombie concept was a new one and I loved it, and found it absolutely fascinating!! There wasn’t a dull moment in this book! The plot kept a great pace, keeping me totally engrossed! I will admit that I liked the first ending best, but I liked how the author wrote the last chapter as an alternate ending.
The characters are so well written. There are several storylines, well maybe five, but they were easy to follow and keep up with, and it was cool the way paths crossed and intertwined. There really isn’t a main character, but I feel like there was one that really stood out. But maybe I just loved that character. Although I think I really liked several characters, I had some favorites.
I’m wondering if there will be another book?! This one had an ending, of sorts, but I’d loved to read more in this world and see where it takes us. Will the zombies eventually die out? What kind of dystopia will arise after this? How much of the world was affected? I will say that I was satisfied with the end (the first one), but I would love to read more in this zombie infested world!! (hint, hint)
If you enjoy zombie books, original concepts, and how different people react to the world gone mad, then you will love this book!!! Mostra Inter (Latin)…monster in between.
I discovered C. Britt through Tiktok and recently finished this book. It was an amazingly fun thrill ride from start to finish! The book follows several stories of different people trying to survive a zombie outbreak and has plenty of surprising plot twists along the way that sneak up on you unexpectedly. Britt does a good job of keeping the story fresh and unique while at the same time sticking to many of the traditions of the zombie horror genre. I read through it very quickly and loved every minute. If you like zombie horror, you are certain to enjoy this book and can't wait to see what she puts out next!
It reminded me a little of the Stand. You have a group of characters that you come to have feelings for and you watch them face seemingly insurmountable odds. The strength of her character building is good. There are hints about how the apocalypse gets started, but no brainiac to explain it all (which I think is good). The ending is open and Britt even provides us with an alternate ending which is interesting.
I love a good quick read. This book was right to the point with the first zombie attack only a few pages in. It was a fast paced book with intertwining stories. The author used great detail and I look forward to more!
MONSTRA INTER is Outbreak meets 28 Days Later in a thrilling, heart-pounding adventure. The author has expertly crafted interweaving timelines and character perspectives with such skill and attention to detail that each alternating POV keeps you on the edge of your seat. (My favorite perspectives were Abigail and Charlie - though they were all fantastic!!)
The zombies in this story are a fresh take, which I really enjoyed. They are smart, can use keys to open doors, and their only goal is to infect not to eat. I thought it was also extremely cool that even animals can get infected!!
Intermixed with terror and despair are moments of triumph, kindness, and the human spirit. This book is a fantastic ride that I devoured (like a zombie) in 3 or 4 sittings. Highly recommend!!
The zombies in this world are a fun unique twist. I don't read a lot of zombie books but this stands out as a fun crowd pleaser. There are multiple, unique character POVs that I found enjoyable. I haven't finished reading the book because my brain refuses to cooperate with the first person tense/style it's in. It's not bad by any means, I just struggle with it stylistically which won't be an issue for most people. I also don't consider a 3/5 a bad score either, I just can't give it a higher one due to personal preference and not being able to finish it and get the story as a whole, despite liking the characters.
Apart from a book about the Burke and Hare murders that included occults and zombies, I don't think I've actually read a zombie book before! (although I've consumed my fair share of other zombie media). This was a super fun take on the genre, with real emphasis given to how people are coping through this at the beginning of this mysterious outbreak. The perspective and tense served to put you in the characters' heads and helped create an eerie mood and atmosphere. A couple of jump scares really got me, and I loved how storylines began to weave together later in the book. There's also an alternate ending!
This was a heart-pounding read. I liked how the author gave an alternate ending (I preferred ending 1), and kept the reader on their toes. This book starts off with separate experiences, which by the end of the book, all parties have crossed paths in one capacity or another. An adrenaline rush throughout the whole book!
Perfect book for fans of 28 Days Later or The Last of Us! The story is intimately beautiful but also horrifyingly brutal (which is, in my opinion, the perfect combination for a successful zombie book). The writing was crisp, clear, and filled with suspense. I really enjoyed this one!
hey Zombie lovers! Monstra Inter by C. Brit is a new take on the typical zombie book. The story is told from multiple POV's before the MC's stories begin to intertwine. This book was written in a way that you were hoping that the MC's would find a way to not be infected because they were so likeable. Bonus too is that there is an alternate ending!
