"A dynamic read that will entertain anyone." --Ain't It Cool News The knuckle-busting conclusion to mangaka Felipe Smith's tale of talent finding recognition in Los Angeles! Omario still doesn't have a comic book contract, which means he still doesn't have money, which means he will die of starvation if he doesn't do something quick. And O'Malley, the rookie cop, is trying to manage both his anger and his fear as he stampedes balls first into a gang den--all while Brian, Jeff, and even Dee continue the struggle! Find out how this whole thing turns out in this epic finale! Felipe Smith has "created an over-the-top, outrageous, slice-of-L.A. portrait that combines the best of manga. It's a wonderful glimpse into the future of original English manga." --Publishers Weekly, Starred Review
Amid the ultraviolence and narcissism, there's actually a moral lurking in there somewhere, fed directly from the experiences of Felipe Smith. Sometimes you can't just wait for fame and glory to come to you, despite your extremely elevated opinions on your own abilities. You can't go destitute, rely on the goodwill of others, and in general be a douche about it all.
Thanks to Omario's friends' patience and efforts in their own personal lives, Omario realizes this truth about life, and sets forth into a new chapter of his life. But... what will happen when the excitement wears off?!
I had no idea where this was going until the end. As with Peepochoo it feels like it wants to be 3 different stories in one go and it only just about sticks the landing.
The moral is really good but why is there just so much fucked up shit in it for seemingly no reason? It just cheapens it in my view.
