Amy Cross writes novels and short stories in a number of genres, mainly horror, paranormal and fantasy. Books include The Farm, Annie's Room, The Island, Eli's Town and Asylum.
This was an excellent read! It reminded me greatly of the fabulous Novels of Cross's that made me such a fan! Patrick and Sophie and the prophesies concerning the daughter, Abigail. One of the best and most exciting and inventive Vampire tales of our century, next to the legendary Anne Rice and her Vampire Empire. The Le'Compte family has as much intrigue as the first Vampire saga by Cross and I certainly hope to see more of them!
I'm not really a fan of short stories but, in the main, I enjoyed this book. Some of the stories I found enthralling, others were something and nothing. However, I liked the idea of the central theme and characters running throughout the book.
I didn't realize this was a bunch of short stories till i started to read this. But it was totally worth it. Each one I've connected to the other some way and even though they don't overlap they for together very well and lead you further into the stories.
I like these stories. Each is a complete story, but all are connected. Vampires in here are vicious predators. There is suspense and bloody violence. I would like to see more stories if the vampire family In these stories.
This book was very good. I liked how all the stories connected with each other. There were two vampires that reappeared in the stories. They were Edgar and Madeleine LeCompte. I thought the story, a Brief Conversation With a Beautiful Vampire in a Coffee Shop, was a good read. In fact, it turned out to be my favorite story in the collection. I really did enjoy this book. I recommend it to others who are fans of Amy Cross and vampires. You won't regret sinking your fangs into this book.
This book was TERRIBLE. It was supposed to be a collection of short stories, however most of the stories were disjointed, there was supposed to also be a main story, which did not seem to be completed. Some of the short stories seemed to start in the middle, without any explanation, and then finished in odd placed. I did not enjoy this at all, and giving 1 star was generous.
I currently have vampire burn out, so my rating may be lower than what it would normally be. This was in a great boxed set I got for Kindle. Great intro to Amy Cross's writing.
