Having retrieved his runaway boyfriend, Chance returns to Atlanta determined that love shall triumph over all. Instead, Rory's metamorphosis from willing sub to demanding boyfriend is complete. Although Rory says yes to coming home, he's saying no to everything else.
Chance decides to wait out the no-sex rule, certain that he can show Rory the truth behind the words "I love you" if he can just get some time to spend with the guy of his dreams.
Of course, it would be a lot easier to do that if he didn't feel morally obligated to help out his ex with a little problem that ended with him sleeping in the guest room and put Chance on the sofa.

4.5 stars for this one from me and a huge

At last it would appear that Chance has finished playing ostrich and gotten his head out of the sand....he finally admits that he loves Rory , and will do just about anything to get him back. He tracks Rory down to where he's been staying, and is determined to take things slowly...he doesn't want to spook Rory and send him away again. Rory comes back to Atlanta with him but moves into Chance's bedroom and says that he can't sleep with Chance yet, he needs time...good job there's a sofa available, but as Chance says 'the new Rory, he made my heart ache with pride that I was allowed to call him mine. He was strong, so much stronger than the laughing boy who sucked me off in my back room, and stronger than the bratty twink who'd paid me back for my promiscuous ways by running off to a club to get f****d.'

Then Cannon pays a visit to the bar....and I'll let you take things from here.

It took me until this book to really warm up to Chance, I don't know why I didn't hate him but I didn't get excited about him like I did Wick, ok none of them excite me the way Wick does. But I love Marcus and Benjamin, Archer, Zach & Jeremian warmed my heart as they struggled to find their way together and somehow I drifted between liking Chance and wanting to smack some sense into him and now I feel bad because I think I just didn't understand him the way I should have. Chance was hiding from the world keeping himself safe from being hurt again only to discover that his actions might have been the thing to hurt him the most. I'm so glad that he and Rory found a way back to each other. I hope I get to see more of the man that Chance is becoming, I think I really, really like him.

★★★★ - Really good, memorable plot/characters.
Chance seems to have things all sorted with Rory, but is waiting for Rory to work through his attack and feel comfortable enough to express his feelings in return. That and Rory seems to think penetration is what will finally get him over that hurdle, even though they've never done that before. Cannon is back too, this time as a friend in need. He's being stalked by some nutjob with a religious zeal. I'm seeing threads to the guy who killed Gabe/Nick and Travis as more than a coincidence, but the guys haven't put that part together yet.

I ABSOLUTELY ADORE RORY! I love the person he's become in the last year even though I hate all of the crap he's gone through. I love seeing him more assertive and confident.

Now, Chance. Hmm. I guess I can forgive him for being such an ass because he's definitely learned his lesson, but, more importantly, because he loves Rory so much, Chance is actually working on changing himself. Never thought I'd ever see the day!

Still don't like Cannon. Never will.

Take a great character with a singular voice, add angst, suspense and mystery, and you have one great series. In this fifth book, Chance and Rory story expands as does the mystery that runs through all four series. Dont miss out - Pick this book up!

4.5 stars--A truly enjoyable serial!

Although Chance does not end up with the person who at the beginning of this serial I would have chosen, I'm happy with the outcome, but then I think Brazil could have manipulated me in either direction, as was his will.

I am loving the 2013 Pulp Friction series--three down, one to go! I'd love to see something similar this year!
