Narrowly avoiding extinction at the hands of the Full Bloods, mankind had its eyes brutally ripped open to the truth of what lies in the darkness. A fight for survival has begun on a global scale. The Skinners were dealt an almost crippling blow with the rise of the shapeshifters and have scattered. Some have joined forces with the Inhuman Response Division, a coalition of what little military remains. Others have sided with The Vigilant, a faction of violent zealots thriving in this lawless world. And some are in hiding, waiting to rejoin the fight. Terror rules this land, roaming in packs, evolving, leaving the stench of death in its wake.
"An action-packed, blood-soaked ripsnorter of a monster-hunter series, SKINNERS will appease any bloodsucker fan's appetite. Pelegrimas weaves a seductive and eerie atmosphere of the occult in SKINNERS that you'll want to indulge in again and again."--Tom Piccirilli, author of THE MIDNIGHT ROAD
"Newcomer Marcus Pelegrimas hits one out of the park with his first gritty urban fantasy novel, BLOOD BLADE, the lead-off to a new series called Skinners. The heroes are tough, the villains are very nasty, and the action is nonstop. Fans of Jim Butcher and Laurell K. Hamilton will definitely want a bite of this!" -Jonathan Maberry, multiple Bram Stoker Award winning author of ZOMBIE CSU and PATIENT ZERO
"Pelegrimas is the best thing to happen to vamp-hunter fiction since John Steakley!" - E.E. Knight, author of the Vampire Earth Series.

"With a scalpel-sharp eye for detail, Pelegrimas slices open an entirely new kind of street-smart vampire—an exciting first book in a vampire trilogy by a talented storyteller."--Michael Largo, winner of the Bram Stoker Award
“Extraordinary character development, pedal-to-the-metal action throughout, and featuring some of the coolest monsters ever imagined…the Skinners saga is gritty, gruesome literary fun.” -- Paul Goat Allen
Marcus Pelegrimas is the son of Sicilian immigrants who rose to power in the criminal underworld of the 1950’s. No wait…that was Michael Corleone.
Marcus Pelegrimas lives and works in Nebraska . Yes, he eats corn. No, he doesn’t live on a farm.
He graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice and currently lives in Omaha , Nebraska where he has worked in several different genres of fiction including western, mystery, horror and fantasy. Nowadays, he plays too many video games and spends too much time watching crappy movies when he should be hard at work on his next novel. Good thing his beautiful and very patient wife Megan is there to knock him off the couch when the deadlines creep in.
I love this world. Several kinds of werewolves, throw in vampires, shapechangers, lizardmen and the powerful mistborn make it more than interesting. This book is a great idea that did not go to waste. I for sure like Rico in this book. Haley is a young Paige. Cole is full skinner and badass. Frank is the voice of reason. Complaint just for complaint sake is I wanted to know more bout Mistborns. Also a small part was hoping for Paige to be there. As a full blood or something. I will be reading the next in the series as soon as its out. Apocalypse or not.....well OK maybe not if that happened.
This book takes place two years after the last one. As expected the characters changed and the world has gone to hell...but at least the lights are still on? I didn't enjoy this book as much as the previous ones. Without some the characters that made the series it just didn't have the same feel.

Great series but needs to end. I don't mind if it continues, but if it goes one to much further the uniqueness will become redundant. Still I will continue on as far as it's storier can keep my interest.
