This dream all comes crashing down once I discover her name. At first, she was cute and flirtatious but now I know she is only here to convince me to sell my bar. I completely lose it and throw her out. How can this woman be so attractive and infuriating at the same time? To make things even worse, I can tell she has no clue about our bond or what I am. I enjoyed this book as a Saturday afternoon quick read. My honest opinion with some more spice and meat aka details to the storyline, it could have been much better instead of an average read. The potential was there, but the characters not strong enough.

Fated To The Enemy Alpha by Ruby Brinks is a very quick read, under 45 minutes. The chapters, if you can even call them that, are often several paragrahs of words slung together.

The story is about a latent shifter that comes to the shifter town looking to buy the alpha's bar. Mira, the MFC, is quite unlikable. Jax is the MMC, the alpha of this pack. Of course, he recognizes her at once.

This story is simplistic. It ignores most 'rules' readers expect in shifter reads. The writing prosaic, so if you're looking for an interesting, descriptive read, this isn't it. The spelling and grammar need work.

What did work is the writer's plot using water as this pack's strength. That was interesting, but it wasn't given the attention it deserved.

What I liked about the book: the wolf shifter origin story, and the magical use of water, both of which I found to be refreshingly original. What I did not like about the book: the somewhat awkward writing style, plus some of the plot elements, like the odd and unlikely resolution of the real estate deal, and the beginning of the MCs relationship. The reason for their animosity felt contrived, as did their initial interactions. Sometimes the pacing of the story irritated me, when there were some story elements that were too slow and others that happened too quickly. However, the book was easy to read, imaginative and entertaining, and with a little tweaking, could be very good. I will be interested to see what Ruby Brinks writes in the future.

I am regrettably beyond late for this review, but better late than never I guess. I don't think Ive ever read a full wolf shifter adult romance before, not that I can remember and not that was so rooted in reality. Because most of them are.n't.
That being said, this is exactly that. When Mira goes to the mountains tp try and settle a real estate deal with a stubborn owner, she has no idea what she is walking into. And to be fair, neither does he to the full extent.
Turns out that Jaxon, this stubborn owner, has just lost his father and inherited both his business and the shifter pack he led.
What I liked was the mythology mixed ith very real life. The mythology is somehow different, I like how the packs get their magic from the elements, and how there is a good story for their existance. Even the whole lorr about the first shift is good.
I also liked the chemistry between the characters, both humans and wolves. That was fun for the most part.
What I did not like was how instant everything was. This giirl meets a man and has her life turned upside down, and yet she just continuously accepts and rolls with things. And there's instalove. That is also hard to suspend my belief for. Even more than the wolf part.
And the whole climax... I ultimately liked how it sorted itself out and how she became the heroine here, but the conflict itself was a bit corny.
The conclusion is, I ate it up, I kinda like it, but it's not very memorable to me.

Lots of editing needs but good storyline...

I downloaded this free book on a whim even with the reviews not being at the rating I would typically download a book at. The book was overall good. I enjoyed the storyline. It was a very quick read. Although the writing style and the authors ways of articulating the characters verbiage was simpler than I was used to reading, I enjoyed Mira and Jaxon's quick romance.

There were a lot of editing needs due to wrong words used, missed words, etc. If those were fixed and the way the author writes improves some, I could see this being a five star book, regardless of its short length. I typically don't like downloading books that are less than 200 plus pages as I've always felt when a story is short, there's a lot of character and story building that gets left out. I felt that in this book as well, but the author did do a decent job of trying to provide the reader with enough to get the point across.

Sloppy writing and no editing make this a poor book to read. Although the storyline was good, the author chose not to follow the conventional shifter’s folklore so these wolves were somewhat different. However, the constant word mistakes and poor phrasing took its toll. I have read Ms Brinks books before and did not encounter these pedestrian problems, they were enjoyable. Let’s hope this is a one off.

Typos and not good writing
DNF 40%
The two protagonists are fated. When they meet, they clash for no real reason. It’s just dumb. He yells at her for zero reason and she yells at him a different time for no reason. Then she becomes a wolf and they kiss. The world isn’t really built and the characters are vague.

I thought this was a cute romance. Mira comes to town to put an offer on Jaxon's bar. When Jaxon sees Mira, he recognizes her as his mate. Mira is attracted to Jaxon but wants to maintain a professional distance. As Jaxon starts to wear her down, unexpected events start to happen, and this can determine their future. I found this book run to read and liked that there were some unexpected twists.

Jax and Mira . . .

Wolf shifter Jaxon finds he is now the Alpha of his pack when his father dies. He also has his hands full trying to save the failing Loch Bar & Grill. He gets a sudden scent that causes a strong reaction and sees a beautiful woman approaching. His wolf has already claimed her as his. It turns out, however, that she is there to make an offer for the bar. Mira gives no indication she is affected by Jaxon as a mate. So he orders her out of the bar. But she is his mate and he needs to find a way to convince her that they are meant to be together. Will she listen? Or is there some other reason she not reacting as he would expect her to?

Discovering the Truth

Jaxson and Mira are opposites sides of business as she is trying to assess his willingness to sell his bar. However, things don't go as planned and they discover many surprises that will bring them together. This was an amazing story with a unique take in shifters.
