Robert Anthony Rodriguez is an American director, writer, producer, cinematographer, editor and musician perhaps best known for making profitable, crowd-pleasing independent and studio films with fairly low budgets and fast schedules by Hollywood standards. He shoots and produces many of his films in Texas and Mexico.
One of my favorite films and the screenplay does not disappoint. Rodriquez knows how to brilliantly chart the action and the way lines should be delivered (on paper) for maximum Bizarro impact, which this film definitely has.
Rodriguez's script is just as fast and entertaining as his movie, which I think is one of the great zombie horror comedies out there, along with Return of the Living Dead, Re-Animator, Evil Dead II, and Dead Alive. It's funny, gory, and entertaining as hell. The script is almost translated exactly to screen. Also read the teeny tiny scripts for the Machete and Thanksgiving trailers.
Robert Rodriguez' half of he and Quentin Tarantino's "Grindhouse". I adored the screenplay and loved both films. His "Machete" trailer script was great too. I'd love to read more of his stuff.
