Yet again a fast paced roller coaster of a book which had me sitting on the edge of my seat with a mindf#ck of a plot twist I never saw coming with a much loved character, this series has everything I wanted and more when it comes to this genre.

I laughed so much in this book (Ollie) that I had tears pouring down my face, no memory and is thrown into a fabricated zombie apocalypse. Pay back can be a b*tch when its the end of the world..

Everyone, bow to your Queen: Lou Vane!

Lou, you have done it again. Keeping me on my toes, reading this series is like being on a roaller coaster. Adrenaline fills my body and I sudently become part of the Royals. They were MAYOR plot twists on this one (but that doesn’t surprise me comming from you).

MAYOR Spoilers might come ahead ‼️
I’m not going to lie, the start was a bit slow for me, but that is because book 3 was packed with action, chapter after chapter there were fights, conflics, crazy cult people… And this one was 80% organizing for peace (or trying to). The end (the last 50 pages) was AMAZING! I was on the verge of falling of my bed while reading from excitement. First, my boy Miles was back (why do I like him so much? Maybe because I am a sucker for enemies to lovers even tho there is not lovers part?). Matt???? HELLOOOOOO??? No comments. I think it was well done, but I don’t think he is Matt anymore, and I would actually like it that way. It gives everything a twist (we don’t want to pull out another Peeta Mellark move here).
The kid who shot Jess and found out she was still alive and cried out when he saw her??? Chef kiss! 😘It was such a natural reaction!
Back to Miles, when he said that Jess was a good medic indeed??? I nearly died there! 😌
Skye girl, you are a badass! (Nothing more to add).

LAST (because I have a ton to say but this would turn into the new bible): I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK.

Thank you Lou Vane for sending me a free kindle copy of the book. I told you I would buy it anyway, and I did. My collection on the shelf is precious to me, and this book deserved to be with the rest, here, at the other side of the world from you, in Spain. 🥹🥰💕

I really didn’t think I was going to want to finish this book but it turns out it was really good there were amazing twist and turns and the return of Matt kinda made me mad bc why not just leave him out of the book forever what was the point of being him back. I loved this book especially the end of it bc I didn’t expect there to be a better virus that wiped out more people and than the very end surprised me too.

A really excellent fourth part to this brilliant apocalyptic virus series! A really amazing story so far & this part continues in that way! A brilliant idea, different to the general virus end of the world! With good levels of action & tension, a few twist & turns add extra excitement to the plot! Everything was really pleasing for me, it really hit all the right spots for this type of adventure story! I do strongly recommend!

I cannot get enough of Lou and her writting! I've been a huge fan of this series the moment I picked up 'Fortune Falls' the 1st book, and once again this next instalment did not disappoint!!

This series has me hook link and sinker and I'm already impatiently twidling my thumbs for the next book to be written and released.

If you are a lover of post apocalyptic fantasy reads then this series is a MUST READ! It follows the journey of a group of kids who are left stranded and alone after a virus wipes through the human population.
Echos is the 4th book and it is fast paced and jammed packed of action packed twists and turns, that will have you turning pages so quick just to see what happens next.

Highly recommend! 5 stars!

Love, love, LOVED!!! I started this series last year. I found it when there was already 3 books out and when I started I flew through every single one in just a few weeks. The way Lou Vane is able to describe the characters and plot just makes you want to sink your teeth in. I knew this book was gonna grab my attention the same way the first three did. It made me out loud react the whole time I was reading, laughing, crying, screaming up until the end. You will fall in love with the characters in the first book and become so anxious following them up till this book. I believe there is suppose to be two more books in the series coming out and I cant wait. For those who haven't started the series, its about a group of young adults who go on a two week cabin retreat in the mountains when a deadly virus breaks out. They have to work together and deal with some awful situations in order to survive. But they do it together creating a beautiful and very bonding relationship where they would do anything for each other. If you are on the fence about starting this series, this is your sign to start it so we can all get emotional together. Highly highly recommend!

Wow, this is the best book in this series so far. It gave us everything we’ve been waiting for since the last book… sshhh plus more. Good mix of happy, sad, and hope all wrapped up into an ending that leaves you wanting more.

The author continues two write characters that we can relate too and want to be friends with. Her writing is so detailed that you can hear and feel the action as your read.

The story line is as good as the first book and for this to be the 4th one and still keep it engaging is a big deal. Most series get messy after the 3/4 book and you get disconnected. Because not all of the characters are in all of the books it feels fresh when you read about them again. Keeping you wanting to know more.

I LOVE THIS BOOK SERIES!

OH MY FREAKING GOODNESS!!! IM DYING.

this series just keeps getting better and i dont know how i am going to survive until the next book comes out.

this was some of the best plots & writing in the whole series. my emotions were at an all time high, my mouth was on the floor and i kept thinking i knew was was going to happen just to have something even more crazy happen.

the shocks kept coming one after another and i had no idea who could be trusted at given moment and clearly i was on the edge of my seat because i read it all in one day.

the mix between all the different groups and reunions of certain characters had me BEGGING for more and i cannot wait to see what happens in the next book. literally CANNOT wait.

I had the absolute pleasure of doing an ARC read for this instalment of the Fortune Fall Series.
Lou Vane tickles my fancy for post apocalyptic, young adult, coming of age genre.
This series was something that ticked all the boxes of what I was looking for after finishing an older series.

Echoes. How fitting!
Without spoiling anything at all, I loved/hated the way it ended haha. Loved because who doesn’t secretly love a cliffhanger ending but hated because HOW DARE YOU MAKE ME WAIT TILL I FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT haha!

Lou Vane. I love your stuff. I think you’re amazing and I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for you can bring us next.

What a damn roller coaster. There is so much to process in Echoes, and some of it left me baffled. After The Ark shattered my heart, this book didn’t give any time to fix it. However this book did give me false hope, multiple times.

After being at the Ark for around 6 months, they finally have an escape plan ready. With the help from a few new friends within the Ark, they set their plan into motion. Unfortunately we already know, nothing goes as planned. Two of their people get captured while trying to escape. Knowing they had to buy the rest time, they distract their captors.

Jess, along with the rest know the only way to get their friends back, is to get help from the bunker. They make the trip back, knowing they only have a couple weeks to get back, or their friends could be dead. As they get closer to the bunker, they get more excited to be reunited with the friends they left behind. However, once again, nothing goes as planned.

After arriving back at bunker, they find that their friend left a week prior to go look for them. Now Jess is scared knowing that her friends are in danger in the Ark but her other friends are now out in the works without the vaccine, and without knowing the other dangers.

Can Jess and the rest of the Novas find the friend that left the bunker, or all the have to go back to the Ark risking all their friends’ lives?

I really enjoyed this book, however I’m not happy about the massive cliffhanger we got left with. Especially because the last one to the series comes out later this year. Definitely can’t wait to see what comes next, along with seeing how this series ends.

Love love love and hate this at the same time. I’ve fallen in love with the idea of this world and it’s one that you can easily place yourself in rather than some far fetched fantasy. But, that said, I do have my beef with a couple of things.

1. Matt’s character arc. Ahhhh I was really annoyed with this because I just absolutely adored Matt and to see him become something else entirely really sucked. I also don’t like how violent he became - especially with Jess. And considering his ’dying’ words with the Novas team, begging them to protect Jess because he loved her that much, and then turning round and using her fears against her. Not cool man. He became really uncaring and it absolutely took away from him character completely.
But, that said, I am aware that there was a love triangle and to resolve those you always gotta remove someone from the running. And although I’m really upset that it was Matt, I would have been equally upset if it were Ethan. Thought I still loved Matt better.

2. I saw Matt’s return from a MILE away. The second he ‘died’ I knew his story wasn’t over and that we would return as a Royal. And I was off and on with my prediction but ultimately correct. And though I was pretty disappointed that I could guess that so easily and didn’t get that surge of joy when he returned, I was still pretty ecstatic that I was right. And among other things, predictability was a 3/5 for me.

Love the book and will definitely continue reading as more are released, but probably not a re read for me.

Oh how I missed this series! After binging the first 3 books on a random day I was hooked from the start. Although I didn’t fully remember the previous books given I had to wait so long in between, and I wasn’t writing reviews, I still remembered what had happened which helped me heaps.
This book has got to be my favourite from the series so far and the constant plot twists had me on the edge of my seat. When Jess found out Matt was alive… AHH I couldn’t believe it, it flowed so perfectly into the previous books and it felt completely planned from the beginning, credit to Lou’s amazing writing.
The only issue I’ve had with this series would be sometimes I really struggled to visualise some of the action scenes. Like the flash flood scene and the scene towards the end where they were blown up on the bridge, I found it really hard to visualise the setting and I think it came down to the choice of words. This did irritate me a little as I was having to go back and re-read to try and understand what was happening.

But apart from that I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait for the next one to come… in September though rip. 100% recommend this series and wish under the radar books like this got more recognition.

4⭐️ overall!

I Need To Catch My Breath Now That This Book Is Over!!

Okay, this book got so stressful that I had to take breaks. I’m sitting here thinking, how in the heck is this going to be wrapped up in one more book?!!

I love these characters! Especially the NOVAS. My favorites are Skye, Ethan, Jess, Dean and Aaron!! I’ve been so wrapped up in these characters lives, their struggles, that they have become a part of my reality. I dream about them, and think about them through the day. I worry for them, feel for them and the struggles they have had to deal with and I’ve loved them and their relationship with each other. They are definitely family.

I’m kind of scared of the last book. I’m so scared of what they will go through. These characters have grown immensely and they have become strong and resilient, no matter what they go through.

I love this series and highly recommend it if you like Post Apocalyptic Thrillers!!

No because this one had me STRESSED OUT.

This book successfully made me feel apart of the story, because of the familiarity constructed by the previous books and the way emotions are expressed and shared, I mean I am pretty sure my heart rate was concerning at some points.

I like how the stakes just get bigger without coming out of nowhere. It is action/emotion packed but not rushed and I think that’s what got me stressing so much because … just give Jess a break you know ?

I’ll say the major plot twists were predictable. I still enjoyed every “surprise” that came along, mainly because of the way characters reacted to them.

English is not my native language, so firstly this comment could make no sense aha, and secondly I just love when a story/world/characters… is built in such an natural way that it is just so simple to understand and be transported.

This one is my favorite so far, and I’m itching to get my hands on the sequel.

Hands down the best of the Fortune Falls series 😍😍😍😍 here we are already well established with our love for each of our original campers' individual personalities, and have made space in our hearts for more newer characters like Miles, Kiri, Maisie and Belinda, and we're facing a showdown between three major groups that survived this deadly virus outbreak 😵😵 ::Strong COVID vibes::

When I read, The virus has mutated, I F.R.E.A.K.E.D. O.U.T. I swear I went round jumping room to room explaining what's happened and why I'm so high, to my friends who don't even read 😔

The last 100 pages were utterly chaotic, literally kept me on the edge of my seat. I stopped reading in public areas since I kept freaking out - vocally - with every single twist in those pages 🥲 Love love loved this book. 10 stars.

“That’s what we all are, echoes of our past. The only problem is we have no idea what we’re echoes of.”

OH MY GOSH! These books keep getting more and more intense as the series progresses! I had so much adrenaline!

I knew Matt was alive! Off screen deaths are just so untrustworthy ! I’m not a big fan of the semi new Matt! I know he still has his qualities and everything that made him himself but I just hate any sort of memory loss trope!

I need to see more Ethan and Jess interactions because they’re my favorite! I love Ethan🥹

Dean still holds the spot as my favorite character. The friendship between him and Jess is so strong and sweet!

Once again, another cliffhanger at the end…so I must jump into the fifth and final book as fast as possible !

Holy crap!!! This book was amazing just like the last 3.
It picks up right where book 3 left off with them arriving back at the bunker after loosing Ethan and Katie to the Ark.

They meet up with the bunker crew again realizing some are missing…..they set out to save Ethan and Katie and find the others that left the bunker.

Jess, Aaron and the others find a surprising person living/leading within the group the Royals….let’s just say they see a ghost….that isn’t a ghost anymore.

Oh and the cliffy is huge!!!!

Love triangle, friendship, mutant virus, suspense. I mean what else could you ask for!

Lord of action, but I also got tired and felt like it was dragging out, like I just wanted something to happen! All these plans and nothing happening but waiting. Also Matt being alive and not remembering Jess was a little bit of a knife in the heart. His words of saying how “wow it sounds like I used to be a pushover” made me laugh cause he kinda was and that’s why I liked him but I didn’t LOVE him as a character. I kinda like the new version minus the fact he doesn’t remember her. I’m definitely ready to finish this series out. It was definitely eye opening on how humanity is definitely at its worst when society collapses.

I need book 5!

I have LOVED this series, I literally binge read them all in three days and was devastated to find out the next book won’t be released until September!
I really like The Royals being more involved in the storyline, whilst also being desperate to know what was happening at The Ark the whole time. All the different communities/ worlds really come together in this book!
It’s an action packed, tense book the whole way through, but definitely has some humour thrown in there as well (mostly due to Dean and Ollie).
This series somehow continues to surpass all my expectations and always leaves me wanting more.

I devoured The Echoes in record time! Lou Vane's Fortune Falls series has become an obsession.

This fourth installment is a wild ride, filled with major plot twists that kept me guessing. The start felt slightly slow after the non-stop action in The Ark, but the last 50 pages? Absolutely breathtaking!

The Echoes shines with its unique apocalyptic world-building, expertly balancing action, tension, and surprises.

Character development remains superb, with the Royals' struggles and triumphs resonating deeply.

A brilliant addition to the series! The Echoes sets up an intriguing conclusion.

Some pacing issues prevented a higher rating, but I'm hooked!

OMGGG this book was so good. I seriously can't wait for the 5th book.

I was in shock when Matt died and I believed he was still alive. But by the end of the 3rd book I came to terms that he really did die. Even though I'm team Ethan I still shed a tear. BUT THE FACT THAT HES ALIVEEEEE!! I was so happy just to find out he can't remember them and tbh the Matt they knew really is dead... It's J.D. now.

The royals have bad people in their crew just like the ark so I'm really just team Novas. The 5th book needs to come asap !!!

Fantastic Series

I flew through these 4 books. This series is so well written with excellent character development. Jess, Dean, Skye, Ollie, Lily, Johnny, and Aaron are working with the Royals to try and save Ethan and Katie. Instead the story takes an expected twist and all I can say is Wow. All three groups of people, The Immune, The Royals, and even The Novas will have to find common ground if they want to survive. I cannot believe I have to wait so long before the next book comes out. This is an excellent series, kudos to the author who is extremely talented.
