With the prime suspect for the LA attacks in the wind, Jack Miller’s specialist Terrorist Incident Emergency Response Unit – or “TIER” Unit – must use newly-unearthed NSA intelligence to take down his cells. When one such raid leads to a confession that state-of-the-art rifle bullets were smuggled into the United States, the chase is on to locate the recipient. However, with the assassin concealed by an extreme anti-government group who believes the FBI is as bad – if not worse – than the jihadi plotters, foiling this phase of the plot will not be easy. TIER Unit 3-1 sees Jack Miller and his elite FBI unit faced with breaking a siege that recalls traumatic memories for Jack, after which they must identify and save a target whose value is not yet understood. Day At All Costs is the third of five novellas continuing the story of a man leading the counter-attack against a vengeance-obsessed fanatic, as he tries to uncover – and head off – the terrorists’ next move.
Jack Miller seems to know what's going to happen but still he is not happy with his performance. He is the T-SAC and seems to think faster than the others. Jack leads a team to find the leader of the terrorist cell, someone who has been posing as a professor at the university. Others aren't as sure as Jack that Sammy Tahir is the leader of the chaotic events that have transpired. It is Day 3 and the convoy they were using to move three prisoners has been attacked and the prisoners shot by a sniper. While Jack's team is recovering and getting ready for Day 4, the sniper is packing his gun and leaving the area. Jack insists that he be told the name of the NSA mole in the terrorist cell. Once he gets the name, he tells his team to get a good night's sleep since they will be busy tomorrow. Stay tuned for the 4th day.
