Rate this book
Extraordinary things are happening in Ant's normally humdrum life--everything has come to a standstill because, mysteriously, everyone's petrol has turned to green gel overnight making transport and normal life impossible. Ant is sent to his grandmother's while his parents go to find answers. However, on arrival, he is distraught to find that his grandmother is very ill and desperately needs hospital attention. With great trepidation yet fierce determination, Ant sets out on a long and perilous journey to get his grandmother the help she needs.

A quick book to read, storyline seemed a bit disjointed to begin with, but still held my attention and I loved the idea that we were being made to think about climate change. Ant's desperate journey to get his grandmother to hospital, taking days rather than the usual minutes made me feel so tense. The characters of Nash and Balrog and the infiltration of Doonhilly by the Third Agent all enhanced the story and felt Cornish. A great climate change read for Years 5 -8.
