This one was fantastic starting of the great journey which we all aware of.
The art and story line was FLAWLESS as ever when it comes to manga.
It's just a beginning so there is not many characters right now, just the main three characters.

A most heartwarming thank you to Netgalley and Kodansha Comics for giving me the chance to read Fairy Tail Omnibus 1 (Vol. 1-3) by Hiro Mashima in exchange for my honest review.

This omnibus volume was just what i needed to get right back to the magic that is Fairy Tail. It had been years that I've read the manga or even watched the anime but given the chance to read this omnibus got me back to the times when I used to read it back when I was younger and the fact that as an omnibus contained three whole volumes and got me far enough in the beginning, had me adding it to the wishlist of things that my friends cold get me for Christmas.
It's been a long time since I saw a manga volume (be it omnibus or not) that had me instantly putting it on my wishlist and I ws really happy that it was Fairy Tail since it was one of the first few anime/manga I was into when I was younger and it really brought me back to the time when I learnt of the magic of manga and anime alike.

"Fairy Tail Omnibus 1" is a delightful journey into the magical realm of wizards, camaraderie, and epic adventures. Hiro Mashima weaves a spellbinding narrative that follows the adventures of Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfilia, and their eclectic group of friends in the Fairy Tail guild. The omnibus effortlessly combines humor, action, and heartwarming moments, creating a compelling read for fans of shonen manga.

Mashima's artistry shines through, bringing the vibrant characters and fantastical world to life with dynamic illustrations. The camaraderie among the Fairy Tail members is a central theme, and the author skillfully develops each character, endearing them to readers. Natsu's fiery determination, Lucy's indomitable spirit, and the guild's sense of family create a captivating narrative that keeps you eagerly turning the pages.

The omnibus seamlessly blends episodic adventures with an overarching storyline, offering a perfect balance for both new readers and long-time fans. The magic system is imaginative and adds a layer of excitement to the battles, showcasing Mashima's creativity.

While the first omnibus sets the stage for the larger narrative, it doesn't lack in action or character development. "Fairy Tail Omnibus 1" is a compelling introduction to a series that promises an enchanting mix of friendship, magic, and epic battles—a must-read for manga enthusiasts and fantasy lovers alike.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with this arc in exchange for my honest review.

I got to read an e-arc of Volume 1 and a preview of Volume 2 so not an omnibus of Volume 1-3 like stated.

This is my first time reading Fairy Tail. It’s almost like reading a boy teenager’s wet dream haha. Half naked girls, girls drinking whole kegs of beer, fuck all the rules and let’s fight all the time and do what we want, act all idiotic and reckless and crazy and have the most amazing supernatural powers oh and add lots of giant monsters to the mix. But it was fun to read for me too, but only once is honestly enough xd.

Lucy is a 17 year old wizard who wants to be part of the wizard guild called Fairy Tale. When a creepy mostly fake and up to no good wizard lures her onto his boat with the promise to get her into that guild, he almost drugs her and wants to make a slave of her.

Natsu who’s a young wizard with motion sickness, and his cat Happy who can talk and fly (for a while xd) come to her rescue and as they really are part of Fairy Tail, they take her there and after a big fight for no reason between everyone there, she just becomes a member. The wizard council is not happy with Fairy Tail, because there’s so much damage whenever they do anything, but they don’t care.

Lucy decides to go with Natsu and Happy, without them knowing, to save a missing Fairy Tail wizard. We see Lucy using her incredibly fascinating Celestial powers again but it kinda goes wrong and it doesn’t. Lots of recklessness haha and even a pervert cow happen, yes you read that right.

When Lucy finds a place to stay, Natsu and Happy show up uninvited and she shares the making of a new celestial contract with them and something unexpectedly super cute happens! No giant monsters for once xd.

After that, Natsu tricks Lucy into agreeing on something and we see the start of a new intriguing mission and a cute story with Happy and some evil flying fish.

Like I said, glad I read it once but this is more a boy thing in my opinion.

Special thanks to NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for sharing this ARC with me in exchange for my honest review.

I was an avid anime watcher in high school, but quit watching shows in my final year. Ever since, people have been recommending Fairy Tail to me. It looked good enough, but I could not bring myself to watch it (or any other shows really). When I saw the arc for Vol 1 available, it seemed like a great time to finally check this out and I can only say that I am glad I never bothered watching the anime.

Having watched plenty of anime before, I am aware of the common tropes in shonen. However, I don't think violence for violence's sake is particularly funny. "Heroes" that bring down cities while hunting bad guys as a form of 'collateral damage' also is getting a bit boring. Then there's the sexualization of a 17-year-old girl, which doesn't sit right with me. Mix this with a couple of layers of misogyny and I was over it. I cannot in good conscience recommend this to anyone.

Fairy Tail Omnibus is a collection of the first 3 stunning Fairy Tail volumes. I love this manga so much! It follows Lucy, and young woman who holes power over celestial beings using key magic, and Natsu, a man with fire/dragon powers. The first 3 volumes tell the story of how they meet, how Lucy ends up in the Fairy Tail guild due to her friendship with Natsu, and their first few adventures together.

I was happy to be able to reread the beginning of this amazing manga. It is magical, has some awesome battles, and is great for teens plus. The related anime is amazing as well! I'd tell anyone who is a first time manga reader to give this one a try because its got action, adventure, magic, and a dash of romance.

Thank you so much to netgalley and the publisher for providing an arc in exchange for an honest review!

This omnibus was such a fun time! I hadn’t read the series before or watched the anime, so this was a completely new experience for me.

If you’re looking for a new fantasy manga, this collection is an easy recommendation. Following the wizards of Fairy Tail and the quests they go on is fun and refreshing (and I thoroughly enjoyed Happy’s character). Easily a manga I’m adding to my list to continue on with in the future!

This would be a perfect starting point for someone new to manga - its super clear, has a beautiful art style, and gives a brief explanation on translation and honourifics at the beginning (and even delves into some definitions at the end for any terms that might not be super common!).

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the complimentary e-arc in exchange for an honest review. All opinions in this review are my own.

Having watched the anime for at least the first couple of seasons, this omnibus is a delightful reminder of the first couple of episodes of the series, I loved the introduction and how the characters met. This is an easy read and I love the pages at the end that discuss the translations made from Japanese to English including the explanation of the honorifics since the majority of them do not exist in the English language.

4 out of 5 stars, I wish there had been some additional material like character art, character cards (introducing the various characters), additional mini-scenes, that sort of thing.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for the free eARC, all opinions are my own.

Want to thank Netgalley and publishers for giving me the chance to read this book.

How are you going to call it an Omnibus and only give us one fucking volume??? That right there pissed me off to no end. It is just so shitty.

The story was good, like the anime. And like the anime, the art wasn't all that. Natsu always best boy.

Thanks to NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for sharing this ARC with me in exchange for my honest review.
This feels like talking to old friend i haven't seen a while.
So i read watched fairy Tail around 10 years ago i also have played ag ame so i'm more or less familiar with characters even through it's been awhile.
i forgotten allot about early volume introductions through.
Ithink i found it odd to see "Rave master" mentioned on the cover for western/english audience aimed release allot people would be way likely familiar to ft spin of "EDENS ZERO "than his first manga.
also explanations Japanese honorifics were very welcome.
good introductory volume into ft word.

I was given this book through NetGalley to be able to review it ahead of its release on December 5th. My understanding, from my fiance, is that this is a good anime, but I haven’t yet watched it. The manga is good enough to definitely make me want to. I really enjoyed the characters, the wild and out of control way they handle themselves, and who could forget the flying cat? I only got to see the first one but I am certain the other two would be amazing as well. If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to watch the anime now.

I would rate this a 4.5/5⭐️.

Please note, I've already read the entire manga years ago and I watched the anime so I have a lot of insight and foreknowledge to entire plot. I will, however, try to narrow my review specifically to the content of this omnibus.

The art is well drawn and I know it gets better throughout the series. We're given an introduction to the world, the characters and a feel of how the manga will play out- both serious and comedic with a emphasis on bonds of friendship and camaraderie.

I hadn’t read these fantasy wizard manga comics before, but I had obviously been missing a treat. Thoroughly enjoyed this omnibus edition (Vol 1) of the first three stories. The story line is fun, the artwork is beautifully simple, and the manga characters are all entertaining. I especially loved the way Lucy is drawn when she is shocked about something, cracked me up every time it appeared. I will be back for more. Thank you to Kodansha Comics and NetGalley for the comic ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.

I've always LOVED the Fairy Tail anime series, and I was curious if I would like the manga as well. This manga did not disappoint. The Fairy Tail guild is filled with lovable characters that are masters at wielding their specific brand of magic. Natsu and Happy are dynamic pair. When they meet Lucy early on in this omnibus, they become an unstoppable trio of ridiculous fun and adventure. I highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for an adventure with magic, friends, and some whimsical elements!

Thank you Kodansha Comics and NetGalley for the eARC of Fairy Tail Omnibus 1 (Vol. 1-3)! All opinions in this review are my own.

I loved the Fairy Tail series when I started reading it but for some reason stopped around Volume 15. Rereading the first three volumes in this omnibus got me right back into the series and I am so excited to pick up where I left off now. I love how each character has their own unique type of magic and the adventures that Natsu, Lucy, Erza, Gray, and Happy find themselves in!

A pretty fun beginning to a very famous manga series. I like the premise of the magic guild and the main characters are interesting enough. The first 3 volumes weren't just full of fight scenes, which I usually don't like much. The story goes pretty fast and we're thrown in the meat and potatoes of the story fast, but still by the end of volume 3 the main plot is a little obscured. I didn't love the art style which I found a bit simple, but it's easy to read. Would recommend to manga fans who have yet to read this modern classic.

This digital ARC was obtainable via NetGalley for an honest review!

For years I've heard about "Fairy Tail" from my peers. I've even watched a few episodes of the anime in the past. I enjoyed "Fairy Tail Omnibus 1". It has a great found family aspect. Some scenes were quite humorous. I might just start the journey of reading the rest of the series.

My wife loves the anime but I always prefer reading the manga so I wanted to give this a try. First thing's first, I love the art. It reminds me of One Piece, and I can definitely see where Hiro Mashima was inspired by it. The story was fun, definitely can tell it's an older manga, but Fairy Tail is definitely one of the classics and a must read for manga enthusiasts.

Fairy Tail is a classic fantasy Manga for lovers of fun loud and over the top characters, high stakes and incredibly imaginative and unique worlds! Fairy Tail is an institution in itself gathering fans from all walks of life through its original publication, anime and spin offs. Talk to manga fans, cosplayers and anime fans and you will find friends through the common ground that is the wonderful world of Fairy Tail.
The omnibus edition is a great addition to your shelf and an easy way to enter what will be your next favourite manga series! This art style holds up well and even being very familiar with this world I was still laughing out loud.
For me personally Lucy, Natsu and Happy are like old friends and this series is a great comfort read. Expect comedy and craziness in the first 3 books in this wonderful series.
