What can I say about Erin Nicholas that I haven’t said in my previous reviews? I absolutely adore her! I love her books. ALL OF THEM! She is simply amazing. Okay, now to gush about the book. Since I first met Emma in She’s The One, I could not wait for her and Nate’s story to be told. I had my mind made up how it was going to go. I was WRONG! This book blew my mind. It wasn’t what I was expecting but that’s what I liked so much about it. The blurb to the book tells it all. Tells you exactly what you need to know about this amazing book. Emma is a feisty, strong, independent woman. Nate is a sexy control freak who has to be in charge….plain and simple. Put these two together and let the hilarious and hot situations commence! You can’t go wrong with this book. This is the third in the Counting On Love series. It could be read alone, but I highly recommend reading She’s The One and It Takes Two. This book has just the right amount of romance, comedy and hotness.
Now, if you don’t like spoilers, stop reading. But, my absolute favorite part of reading romance books are “those” lines. You know what I’m talking about. The ones that make you laugh, make you swoon, make you smile, or make you weak in the knees. Here are some of my absolute favorites:
-"I'll pay you."(Nate) "I'll punch you in the face."(Emma) **LOL! Fiesty, I love her!**
-But damn it, Emma Dixon was definitely a cheeseburger-his weakness, the thing he most tried to avoid, the thing that combined all the things that were so bad for him but were too f**king hard to say no to when put on a platter right in front of him. (Nate’s inner thoughts)
-"You're an incident waiting to happen, aren't you?" he asked near her ear because of the noise level. "Don't you mean accident? she asked. He pulled in a deep breath of her scent before saying, "Accidents are unintentional. And Emma, you are nothing if not intentional."
-"All of your sisters and about fifty other women were out at Trudy's Thursday night,"........"You were wearing a black t shirt with Hawks in gold rinestones over your chest and jeans that made your ass look amazing and high heeled boots." ......"I prefer your hair down, but that night you wore this sexy, twisted ponytail thing." He met her wide eyed stare. "I have no idea what any of the other women were wearing." **Swwooooon! I love him!**
-And the fact that he wanted to be her favorite everything? Meant that he was completely and totally screwed. (another of Nate’s inner thoughts)
-"Nate, it is my absolute pleasure to help decrease your level of asshole-ishness anytime I can. Honestly, if that level goes any higher, you're going to explode and there will be casualties." (Emma) **Have I mentioned I love her!?**
-"You win, Emma," he said. "You've got me tied up in knots and willing to break my own rules." (Nate)
-"When it comes to taking you and making you scream, theres nothing I wouldn’t do." (Nate) **Ohhhhhhhh myyyyy!**
"Considering it's you, I knew this had to be big and bold." (Nate) **Once you read the book, you’ll know why I love this part so much!**

"This is the most unexpected thing of all, obviously”, Nate said. "But the blender came first. I don't want you to forget that." **Another of those moments that you’ll understand after reading the book, but I love it. This line is my favorite in the ENTIRE book!**

Do yourself a favor and get this book! Best money you’ll spend!  While you’re at it……pick up some others by Erin Nicholas as well!!!! Happy reading!

I was so looking forward to this book, because the way Emma and Nate have been circling each other for the last few books was enough build up to guarantee an explosive read!

Emma is the fun Dixon sister, known for her carefree ways and flirtatious attitude. She has been dancing around Nate for awhile now, the two of them snipping and tormenting each other to the point of sexual frustration. She wants Nate more than any man before, but he seems to be the one guy immune to her charms. But spending time with Nate outside of their usual hangouts means that they are finally given a chance to get to know one another better, and Emma is even more hooked than ever.

Nate isn’t ready to fall in love again, especially with the wild child Emma. The more she pursues him, the more Nate is determined to drive her away. The only thing he can think of is to turn on his domineering attitude. Only problem? Emma seems to enjoy it. Nate is more confused and determined to send Emma running when he finally succeeds, he wants nothing more than to win her back.

Emma and Nate had some seriously sexy moments in this book. When Nate turned on his domineering side, I melted right alongside Emma. Their sexual tension is off the charts, especially as Nate tries his hardest to resist Emma at every turn. However, Nate’s ability to walk away from Emma started to get on my nerves, because he could see that he was hurting her, and yet he kept at it. It was just as sexy as it was annoying.

Despite my few hangups about Nate and his attitude, I loved their romance. I thought Emma having to really work at a relationship for the first time ever was so wonderful to watch. She was the one who had to deal with the frustration and uncharted territory when it came to courting Nate. She was the aggressor, the instigator in their emotional relationship, and I loved that. Poor Nate didn’t really stand a chance as Emma found fun ways to place herself into his path on a regular basis.

The catalyst to their big fight was a twist that I didn’t see coming, but loved. It is a fairly typical spin, and one that might not appease everyone, but I thought it was perfect for Emma and Nate. I loved the extra drama and angst that it brought to their already imperfect relationship, and how Nate went out of his way to do something extra special for Emma with his big gesture.

I felt like we didn’t get to see the other Dixon sisters as much in this book, and instead were treated to a secondary romance between Nate’s 18 year old son, Michael and his girlfriend, Shannon. It was fun to see the parallels between Nate and Michael as well as Emma and Shannon, and how both couples treat their relationship. It was fun to see Michael and Shannon be so young and carefree and innocent, and Nate and Emma adopt some of the adolescence into their romance.

All in all I thought this was a wonderful addition to the Counting on Love series. I think the Dixon sisters are so much fun, especially when they interact together and as they tease their brother. While Nate and Emma weren’t my favorite couple in the series to date, I did think they had a sweet and super sexy romance.
I give Best of Three a B

Erin should re-name this book Best of Everything. She has her typical humor that I just love. I mean, how can you not love when she opens the book with Emma asking Nate why he doesn’t ask her to take her clothes off? I love how she can naturally add humor in her books and it doesn’t seem forced. It just works. And we have conflict. Can’t have a romance book without some conflict. We are women and like to read about things that we may have/are experiencing and see how it all plays out. There is a couple conflicts in the book, one being a bit of a doozy but awesome at the same time, and the other is Nate’s issue with his son’s new girlfriend. He’s afraid that Michael is deviating from the path that Nate wants him to take. It’s a struggle of wills and basically having a parent know when to let go. I still can’t believe Nate has an eighteen year old son. He’s still a sexy man!

And then there’s the romance factor. We’ve seen in the first book of the series, She’s the One, the back and forth snipping and getting on each other’s nerves Emma and Nate are always seeming to do. I think it’s funny that no one really sees the sexual tension that is flying between the two. Apparently they were just that good. Of course at the end of She’s the One, Emma is in an accident and Nate is the one to patch her up and there is a scene when she’s in therapy that kind of opened people’s eyes about what might be lying under the surface. Oh! And another Erin treat she likes to throw in her books, other than smokin’ hot sex, is food/drink used during sex. I’ll tell you I will never look at chocolate cake the same way ever again! ;)

Even with all the sexy fun and humor, we were still given a small peek at what is to come in Going for Four with Cody and Olivia. And ladies that have read this series and love Connor, we get to see a softer side that made me complete mush in his hands. I can’t freaking wait for the final two in the series.

This series is beyond magnificent and I can’t read them quick enough. Not that I haven’t tried to bribe her otherwise. ;) I know when this series ends, I’m going to have a big void that will need filling by more of Erin’s addicting books!

Okay so I started this series from book one of the Night Shift series and I knew when it came to Emma's story it would be wild. What I didn't expect was to adore Nate so much. I kinda figured he'd be a bit stiff and well to be honest boring. After all he became a single dad at a young age. But I ended up falling in love with Nate and completely understanding where he was coming from. I loved watching Emma understand she didn't have to be who she'd always thought she had to be. That she could be herself, not the person she was expected to be. I loved watching Nate learn to let go just a little bit. The story is well written, fast paced, hot and at the same time sweet. There are some very funny moments that will have you laughing out loud and giggling. So be prepared for that. This is a wonderful series and a great addition to the series. I highly recommend this book to one and all! And you do NOT have to read the books in order to understand or follow them, but you will feel like you are better connected to the characters if you do. Another great read from a great author!

I absolutely loved this book. By far, my favorite out of the series. I didn't expect to like it as much. To be honest, Emma's behavior kind of got on my nerves in the first two books, so I wasn't really looking forward to a whole book centered around her.

The main thing I love about this book is that everybody gets called out for their behavior. Not just Emma, but Nate, his son, his son's girlfriend, the mother of his son's girlfriend......the list goes on..... I'm not saying that all of the characters are horrible people or anything like that, but I've read several books where some characters get away with doing or saying certain things that other characters would get called out for. In this book, everybody is judged equally.

This book also caused me to warm up even more to Conner, the overprotective older brother of the Dixon sisters who constantly appears throughout the series to try and interfere in his sisters' relationships. Like the others, his behavior also doesn't get a free pass.

Also, this book contains one of the most romantic and hilarious endings that I've ever read. I highly recommend it.

I admire authors who write series because they put themselves out there time and time again most writing very different tales and hoping their readers will love each couple as much as the last. While I do love Nate Sullivan and Emma Dixon together, I’ll admit that separately they drove me a little nuts. Their story however is very good, their intimate scenes after years of foreplay super hot, and an ending that left me laughing yet teary eyed at the same time. So while this may not be my favorite story in this series, it is still fun and entertaining and I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.

Emma Dixon has been trying to get Nate Sullivan’s attention for a long time but he just doesn’t seem interested. Emma doesn’t want to like Nate; he appears aloof, acts like he’s better and smarter than everyone, and he’s bossy but she can’t help herself. While she’d like to pretend she doesn’t want anything from him, she’d like nothing more than to jump his bones or have him jump hers. Unfortunately all he’s interested in is how her bones, the ones he put back together following her car accident, are healing. Nate freely admits Emma’s a distraction he can’t afford and right now his main focus is keeping his 18 year old son on the track for college and him not getting his girlfriend pregnant like he did at that age. In fact he’s become obsessed with his mission to the point of alienating his son.

Emma is one of those characters that has so many layers and many most people never see. She comes across as brash, flighty, and irresponsible. I like her because she lives life on her terms, she doesn’t let the opinions of others dictate the way she lives and I love how loyal she is to her friend Dena and Dena’s daughter, Shannon who is dating Nate’s son. While most people see the wild side of Emma, few realize she’s been the voice of reason and the second parent to Shannon often keeping the girl on the straight and narrow.

I swear Nate is the Dad every teenage rebels against, man he just doesn’t know when to let it go. I understand his worry and I know he’s concerned for his son but talk about over the top and I really wanted to jump in the pages and whack him upside his head a few times. I appreciate that he thinks he’s doing the right thing but it’s like he doesn’t remember what it was like to be 18. Because of all the choices that were made for him throughout his life, he feels he must now be in complete control. The only thing is while he thinks his need for control will keep Emma away, it has the opposite affect and he has no idea what to do about it.
Although these two have known each other awhile, they’ve never spent any time together just the two of them so when Emma forces Nate to let her help in his pursuit of keeping his son from becoming a teenage dad, they end up learning each other very well. I loved how Emma could so easily make Nate lose his control even when he thought he was in control. The wicked ways they found to torture one another, the extended foreplay, and the hot, rushed encounters only made their intimate moments that more sexy.

One thing I have always appreciated about Erin Nicholas’ work is the humor she manages to inject into every book and this one is no different. There are so many fun and funny scenes with some dialog that should come with a spew warning. It’s hard not to enjoy watching a control freak hero lose control, a fun loving party girl realize she wants more from life, both figuring out that sometimes you just have to own up to your feelings and trust them, and most important never, ever forget the sleeping bag or nipple suckers! Best of Three has all of that and more and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Title: Best of Three

Series: Counting on Love Series Book #3

Author: Erin Nicholas

Genre: Romance

Blurb: Sometimes it takes a couple of tries before you get love right. Emma Dixon is known for getting in over her head—and having a great time doing it. She’s aware her shenanigans rub Nate Sullivan the wrong way, but getting a rise out of the cocky surgeon is one of her favorite pastimes. Truth be told, exasperated looks aren’t the only things she wants from the guy.

Nate has no intention of taking another trip down the falling-in-love road. Women are carefully compartmentalized—to his bedroom. Women who don’t mind his take-charge tendencies. Women very different from sassy, sexy, independent Emma. But his usual strategy of arguing with Emma to keep from kissing her goes out the window when his son falls in love with her friend’s daughter. Emma sees a normal teenage romance. Nate sees his plans for the boy’s future ruined.

As Nate tries to derail the relationship, Emma runs interference, putting herself directly in the path of the chemistry that grows stronger every time they butt heads. And that could very well lead to the best surprise of all.

Warning: Contains a guy who knows exactly who he is and what he wants and a girl who’s going to change his mind about, well, everything. Plus inappropriate use of chocolate cake (of course, that depends on your definition of inappropriate).

Thoughts: "So why don't you ever ask me to take my clothes off?" What can I say? Erin Nicholas definitely knows how to start of a book with a bang! Every book I have read of hers manages to capture your attention immediately. And to be honest, after getting to know both Nate and Emma through the first two books of this series, I was already dying to read this one. This is probably the one I have been most looking forward to - other than Connor's of course -which will be last in the series. (Oh, I can't wait for that one....sighs impatiently)

Emma was of course Emma...the epitome of the three F's: fun, flirty, and flighty....but with each book we get to see a different side to her. In this one, we got to see her more serious side, and to watch her grow up a little bit more. And Nate was Nate....the epitome of the S's: serious, steadfast, and sexy....but we get to see a new side to him as well. Who knew he was hiding a little bit of a Dom underneath all those stuffy shirts? We definitely see a whole new side to night - a bossier side than we even guessed at!

The bottom line? This is a typical Erin Nicholas read. Fun and entertaining, yet such a compelling story that we can't put it down. And - never fear - it holds what I have come to call the "Erin trademark" - a hot, impulsive, sexy spot that the core couple makes love at - one that has you looking at the oddest things with new eyes....LOL Last book, it was a car wash - this time, we get a truck. It also has the "Erin's ending" - what I have come to associate with the big HEA scene at the end that just is so sweet and romantic that it makes everything worthwhile. For Erin's fans...you won't want to miss this title. You simply have to read Nate and Emma's story. New readers, this can be a standalone with no problems....but the others are sooo good - trust me, you'll want to read them too!

This book is awesome! This is the third book in the Counting on Love series, and although I love them all, this is my absolute favorite so far. Yes, if you haven’t already guessed, I am an Erin Nicholas addict and can never get enough. She has such a wonderful way of making you a part of her stories. You will feel like you are right there alongside all of her characters while you are reading. One thing I really love about Erin’s stories is that no matter what kind of mood I happen to be in they will always cheer me up because they make me laugh out-loud and even cry, sometimes I yell at the characters, and other times I’m really hoping everything will work out perfectly. Every book in the series can be read as a stand-alone title, but I recommend reading them in order so that you get acquainted with all the friends and family that are involved in each of the books.

Emma Dixon does not want to be compared to her three sisters, so she will do almost anything that will draw attention to herself. There are many things that are rumored about her that are not the truth at all, but she does not do anything to set them straight. She has hid her feelings for Nate Sullivan for years, and she is a major flirt with all the guys she knows. But the flirting is one thing that drives Nate absolutely crazy.

Nate is a trauma surgeon at St. Anthony’s Hospital, and he plays defensive back for the Omaha Hawks. He’s also a single parent who has no intentions of dealing with relationships and the possibility of falling in love. Emma has been driving him nuts for a few years now, but he knows he is too controlling for her among other things and must do anything to keep from getting too close to her.

Nate’s son has fallen in love with the daughter of Emma’s best friend. He is determined to make sure that Michael and Shannon are not doing anything they should not be at their age, or that could ruin his plans for Michael’s future. Emma knows they are just acting like two teens in love but Nate does not believe that for one second, so she decides to prove to him that the teens are fine. Sparks start to fly as Emma tries to keep Nate away from the teens, and they grow closer than either one of them ever expected. Will a relationship bloom between them? Or will Nate walk away when he no longer needs Emma’s help with his son?

This is an amazing series! I absolutely loved book one and two and had high hopes for three. And boy, it didn't disappoint. I love an Alpha hero and Erin Nicholas wrote this Alpha perfectly.

Early in this series I knew sparks would fly when Nate and Emma stopped fighting their attraction. Emma is a force to be reckoned with. Nate was a man that thought the last thing he needed in his life was someone who was a force to be reckoned with. :D Emma is a free spirit who pretty much does the opposite of what everyone wants her to do. The only exception, Nate. You can only imagine when independent, free spirited Emma and the bossy, seemingly uninterested Nate get together. Woo Hoo! Powder keg!

Erin Nicholas is my go-to author. I don't read blurbs or excerpts anymore. I know if Erin Nicholas has written it, I am going to love it. I absolutely love her voice and her ability to make meet feel part of the story not just an observer. I also love that there is an ease and comfort when reading her novels. I cannot wait for the scheduled book 4 and 5! And I am equally excited to find out what else Erin has up her sleeve.

Author Erin Nicholas has done it again and "wowed" me with Best of Three, book 3 of her Counting On Love series. I really loved Nate and Emma's story and the chemistry and sexual tension between them was amazing. I loved that they were complete opposites in personality but that only made them so much fun to watch. Emma is independent, feisty, flirtatious and always ready to have a good time. Nate is serious, responsible and a total alpha male when it comes to sex. I loved how Emma kept on trying to rattle Nate's cage to get a reaction out of him. There were lots of fun moments and sexy times once Nate let go and gave into his desire for Emma. I really enjoyed the spontaneity of their sex scenes, which were scorching hot. There were some serious moments as they learned more about each other and what made them the person they were today. I liked that they were able to bring out the best in each other without compromising themselves. The author did a wonderful job incorporating all the elements that make for a truly enjoyable romance story: love, family, friendship, laughter and great sex. I cannot get enough of this series and the characters.

I totally love Erin's books and will drop all the other books to read hers. And Best of Three was another winner for me. I love this series and now this book. Nate is so alpha and hot. Emma is sassy, funny and strong. They complement each other perfectly. I loved their chemistry and their bantering back and forth. Erin did get me towards the end, emotionally. I felt my short temper start to rise. But of course it all worked out in a very heartwarming way. I look forward to seeing a little more of Nate and Emma in the rest of the books in the series.

With Erin's books, she always seems to throw in a little extra something fun food wise and she did not disappoint this time. She took my favorite dessert (chocolate cake) and oh momma used it in a very not way. It will be a long time before I look at a chocolate cake and not remember its intended purpose for this book. That was freaking sexy!

Best of Three is a sexy, fun thrilling addition to the Counting on Love Series by Erin Nicholas. Emma Dixon knows a lot about men and how to drive them crazy with her sassy, sexy attitude. She has met her match in hot doc Nate Sullivan. She wants him and he does everything he can to resist. Find out how well that works out for him. This is no cookie cutter romance. There are so many unexpected twists. Everyone should read this book. It is hot, sexy and full of non-stop fun.

Catch up with the Dixon sisters and Connor, of course. The stage is set for Cody and Olivia. That should be interesting. Connor is going to love that one, for sure.

Hopefully, we will get to see what is next for these couples and continue to catch up with them in the future.

Keep it going, Erin!!

Erin has done it again....Grand Slam!

This is the third book in the Counting on Love Series. And by far the best one yet. Nate is this cocky surgeon that put Emma back together after a accident. And now Emma has crawled under his skin and he can't shake her. He tries....boy he tries to but no way. Emma tries everything in her power to get to him. Even her first line "Why don't you ask me to take my clothes off??" Sets the tone for the book.

Erin is an author that I would put down every other book to read her's immediately.

Way to go Erin.....now can't wait for Going for Four in February 2014 and Up by Five in April 2014.

I so looked forward to this book. Emma and Nate were both so different but also so alike. On the surface they are total opposites but underneath they are more alike than not. I can so relate to that as that is the way my DH and I are. Nate needed to loosen up and Emma needed to slow down and they meet in the middle. This is a fun, sexy read and a great addition to the Counting on Love series. This can be read stand-alone but I bet you will want to read the others.

Emma Dixon and Nate Sullivan burn up the pages of this book. Their tug-o-war between his large and in-charge and her sassy and fun personalities is enough to keep anyone on the edge of their seats. Erin does an awesome job of keeping her characters just on the brink of falling in love until they no choice but to take that leap. It makes for some great belly swooping reading. If you haven't read this series, seriously what are you waiting for, then grab them, catch up and join the party.

This is an amazing book! This series is actually amazing. Erin Nicholas is an awesome writer and person. Emma is a wild child strong minded person that does what she wants and no one tells her no. Nate is a determined person that knows what he wants and wants it done his way or no way! Also Emma's brothers best friend. They are at each other's throats constantly but has other feelings hidden until they are about to explode. This is an amazing book!!!

I loved reading Best of Three by Erin Nicholas, book three in her Just Everyday Heroes: Night Shift series, formerly the Counting on Love series. This is Emma and Nick’s story. Emma Dixon is the feisty, center of attention, and fun loving of all the Dixon sisters. Everyone loves her and wants to be with her. Except Nate Sullivan, the doctor who surgically repaired Emma’s broken bones after her car accident. Whenever these two are together, they get on each other’s nerves and snipe at each other. Nate has a busy life; he's a trauma surgeon and a single dad to an 18-year-old. Nate’s son is head over heels for his first serious girlfriend and starting to pull away, big time. Nate can't help but have his head turned by Emma, but he knows he's much safer enjoying her from a distance. When Nate needs Emma's help with his son, the two of them are struck by the crazy chemistry between them, and it gets harder and harder to remember why staying away from each other was such a good idea.

I loved the push and pull between Emma and Nate. The heat between these two could burn buildings down! I love how willing Emma was to change and be different when she was around Nate. It was funny how Nate always thought he was in control and not getting involved to deep with Emma

Ms. Nicholas creates characters which make me smile, laugh, get frustrated with, sigh with pleasure, and fill me with happiness. This wonderful story drew me in making me forget the world around me. I had trouble putting this book down, turning page after page, not letting go until I turned the last page, still wanting more and really looking forward to the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book to other readers.

Emma Dixon is the feisty, attention grabber, and fun loving of all the Dixon sisters. She talks back to people and wants everything her way with men. But, with Nate Sullivan they seem to get on each other’s nerves and snipe at each other. Nate is the doctor that put Emma back together after her car accident. Nate has a 18 year old son that he has raised alone since Nate was 17 years old. He has never had any problems with his son Michael until now because Michael is in love with Shannon. Because of Nate getting a girl pregnant so young, he doesn’t want the same thing to happen to his son. Shannon’s mother Deana had her when she was young and let’s her daughter do about anything. Emma is best friends with Deana and has helped her raise Shannon. Emma loves Shannon and wants her to know that she will always be there for her. Since Nate is so upset with his son, he keeps trying to find out where he and Shannon are all the time and go after them. Emma steps in and is always with him when he goes with him and tries to talk him down. Nate is attracted to Emma, but doesn’t want to go there and be like all the others guys she has gone out with. Besides he has not had such god luck with the two previous women he loved in his life.

I loved the push and pull between Emma and Nate. And the heat between the two could burn buildings down! I love how welling Emma was to to be different when she was around Nate. It was funny how Nate always thought he was in control and not getting involved to deep with Emma. This was a great book that I strongly encourage you to read.

Gah. This was amazing.

Best of Three is the third in the Just Everyday Heroes: Night Shift series (formerly known as the Counting on Love series) by Erin Nicholas. It tells the story of Emma Dixon (one of the four Dixon sisters, who've grown up under the watchful eye of their older brother, Conner). She's worked her whole life to distinguish herself from her sisters by making sure she's fun, eye-catching, and great to be around. Everyone loves her and wants to be with her. Except Nate Sullivan.

Nate's got a pretty busy life--he's a trauma surgeon and a single dad to an 18-year-old who's head over heels for his first serious girlfriend and starting to pull away, big time. He can't help but have his head turned by Emma, but he knows he's much safer enjoying her from a distance.

When he needs Emma's help with Michael (his son), the two of him are struck by the crazy chemistry between them, and it gets harder and harder to remember why staying away from each other was such a good idea.

Erin Nicholas's characters make me smile, make me laugh, occasionally make me grit my teeth in frustration, make me sigh with swoony pleasure, and fill me with happiness. Best of Three's cast is no exception, and I enjoyed every page. Emma and Nate's path to their own HEA is littered with some detours, but every step of that journey is part of this read for the keeper shelf!

Can't wait for the next in the series!

Emma is the good-time party girl as well as the biggest handful of Connor Dixson's sisters, and Emma has invested a lot of time and energy to try to stand out from her intelligent, beautiful, poised sisters. Sassy, stubborn, bossy, outspoken and brazen, that's Emma. If it causes a spectacle or causes embarrassment, Emma’s probably involved. If there's fun to be had, Emma is at the center of it. As a result, Emma has her pick of guys, and with a look or a smile they’re doing her bidding. All except Nate. And Nate’s dispassion and lack of interest make Emma want him even more.

Oh my stars, Emma and Nate were a lot of work! There’s push and pull, but their relationship had more yank and fling than a slingshot. I actually thought about taking a break from the book because they were exhausting and made for some pretty crazy dreams when I went to sleep after reading their story. That’s not to say their story wasn’t great fun. I knew it would take an extraordinary man to deal with Emma, and Nate was perfect for her. It was awesome to see that someone who came across as shallow as Emma had a compassionate, deeper side, and she and Nate were able to learn a lot from each other. At this point, I’m 100% invested in this series and can’t wait to see what happens with these entertaining, endearing characters.

4.5 stars, loving this series!!

Best of Three is about Nate Sullivan, surgeon and Emma Dixon another Dixon Diva sister.

Emma had been attracted to Nate, one of her brother's best friends for some time and now that he is her doctor after her car accident and he repaired the damage the attraction is growing stronger for Emma but she's not sure about Nate's feelings for her. Nate is to busy being a surgeon and raising his son to have any type of relationship except maybe a fling now and then with any woman. When his son becomes involved with a girl that Emma has helped raise with her single best friend he starts losing control of his son and all kinds do things start happening...between Nate and Emma along with his son, Michael and Shannon. Then the unthinkable happens not to Michael and Shannon but to Nate and Emma...so now it's time to find out ... will they end up together or will it always be a question...does he or doesn't he??

This is book #3, in the Counting On Love series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader enjoyment and understanding, I recommend reading series in order.

Nate is trying his best to resist the outgoing and sometimes crazy, Emma. It is getting harder as she is his patient now. He knows he must resist but he is nearly forgetting why.

Emma has been attracted to Nate for a while now. She knows she is not his type. With them butting heads at every turn, she is doubtful they will ever get together.

This series just gets hotter! This story had them butting heads & the banter was flowing. I was laughing so hard! I really enjoyed reading about the development between these two. I have rooted for her for several books now.

This was such a good book! The story line was unique, the sex was hot and the characters butt heads time and time again. Nate and Emma are a lot of things to each other--doctor/patient, guy's little sister/guy's friend, she's always trying to get a sexual reaction out of him/he's determined to not give her that reaction, father to a son/pseudo-mother to that son's girlfriend. It's a lot to take in, but boy does it make for a great story!
Nate appears to be a really uptight, straight laced kind of guy at first, trying to track down his son ALL the time to keep an eye on him. Emma has a reputation for being a shock and awe type of woman. Her purpose in life right now is keeping Nate from ruining the relationship between his son and her best friend's daughter. If she can get a little action from Nate on the side...it's an added bonus!

At first, Emma and Nate seem like a clear case of opposites attract. They are definitely interested in each other, but aren't sure if they can really connect because they are so different.

I'll admit that Emma was probably my least favorite Erin Nicholas character going into this book, but I was surprised by her growth and story. She starts out the story as a kind of one dimensional, but as I learned more about her I could see the other sides to her.

Not much is known about Nate prior to this book, too. His history and character arc were very well done too. It was interesting to see him with his son Michael. I do wish we had gotten a little more father/son interaction, but I understand in the context of the story why there wasn't.

This book can be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading the other two Night Shift books first!

Emma and Nate might be my favorite couple of the Everyday Heroe: Night Shift series. Emma is a wild girl, or so you'd think. Nate is a single dad and a doctor - and not just a doctor, an orthopedic surgeon. When he helps put Emma back together after an accident, sparks seem to fly....or do they? Nate doesn't seem interested, which makes him a challenge Emma can't resist! Emma's sisters just want her to settle down and recover from the accident and Nate wants his teenage son not to get into the same trouble he did at that age. Can the two possibly come together? More great characters and a reason to want to go to the ER in Omaha......well, maybe not. But if there is a Trudy's bar in Omaha, I'm definitely going to go there! Love the characters and the story. Amazing writing.

I personally can not stand Emma, I found her selfish, annoying, crass and honestly not a good role model. I really wished that Nate ended up with someone so much better than Emma, she did not deserve him at all. Nate wanted the best with his son, he was a little overprotective I will admit that, but Emma did not have a right to go over his head, after having two woman that betrayed him he unfortunately found another one in Emma and I didn't think that she got the reaming that she deserved..Yeah could not see her being a good mom, poor child he luckily will have a great dad, regardless I will continue the series because I did like the others, just not Emma.
