This book has helped me grow and connect so much deeper on a spiritual level. I feel that the past years, I’ve become stagnant in my spiritual journey. This book made me realize that everything in a sense is connected in God’s will. He is who has created me and thus He is the one who understands and knows me the best. He has planned everything out for me exactly how it should be, including my insecurities and everything. The beginning section of how we should view ourselves as how God sees us rather than how society makes us view ourselves really cut deep. There was another thing that said… “He has an amazing plan for your life that requires the zits and the big nose to make it complete…You can’t see it yet, but God has a reason behind every “flaw” and a purpose behind every imperfection.” That hits DEEP! As I start to head into college decisions and stuff, I feel that I know what is best for me whether it is what college to go to or what to become, etc., but in the end, it’s already pre-destined for me. I just have to trust in God’s path for me and follow where he leads me because I know he will give me more than I can ever imagine.
Here are some of the deepest quotes that mean a lot to me:
“You can’t see it yet, but God has a reason being every “flaw” and a purpose behind every perfection.” (pg 22)
“God has created you for this moment in time. He will cause the story of your home life to help fulfill his plan for you.” (pg 92)
“You can’t change where you’ve been, but you can control where you go.” (pg 157)
This is the most amazing book I have ever read. It is written by my favorite preacher that I met at Super Summer 2010. It's just very clear and helps you understand more about yourself, and how you're not always going to be the same as everyone you come across. It tells you that that's okay.
