A sexy billionaire is about to stake his claim…

Iris Tarango is a small-town girl from the wrong side of the tracks; she’s also a decorated former Marine who fought hard to become one of Red Stone Security’s most respected agents. But her perfectly ordered life is turned upside down when she’s assigned to guard the sexy, dominating tycoon she shares a secret history with. The instant Iris walks back into the billionaire’s diamond-studded orbit, the wild attraction flares between them…and her reputation, objectivity, and heart are in trouble.

After an attempt on his life, business magnate Wyatt Christiansen calls in major favors to hire Iris as his bodyguard. He knows she’s the best, though he has another motive too. He sees this as his final chance to win her heart. But when danger spins out of control, all Wyatt can think of is getting Iris out of harm’s way—even if it means losing her love in the end.

Unfortunately, the killer seems to know their every move. If Wyatt and Iris don’t figure out who put out the hit, they’ll lose more than their chance at happiness together.

It’s friends to lovers book. They knew each other since they were kids. They both have been with others.

When the book starts they’re already married. I would have liked to read how they both got married.
The heroine was strong and I liked her. She was badass!

I liked how she did not need any protection from anyone much less the hero but he was still worried for her safety.
Hero was possessive and jealous. For those who likes these type of heroes they won’t be disappointed.

I liked how the heroine kept weapons strapped on her. That was hot! I always find a woman with weapons strapped on her very hot!

“If you make a scene, I’ve got five guys surrounding me that will tackle your ass—if I don’t do it myself. However, I’d rather not ruin my dress.”

“She’d fought hard enough to get where she was and she didn’t have to explain herself to anyone”

“I’m not going to change who I am or what I do to fit some mold.”

“I’m not ruining my beauty sleep waiting for you.”

“One day without her and you’re a monster. It’s pathetic, boss.”
"She was right. He was pathetic. And he didn’t care”

Strong, kick ass and badass heroines are my kryptonite.

Normally I am not a big fan of ultra badass heroines, but I found myself really liking Iris. She was tough and confident, but not alpha in the bedroom. She let Wyatt lead and that man was all alpha! Their history did not bother me, I loved how he loved her and how determined he was to have her.

4 - No holding back anymore. Stars!

I am a bit of a stickler when it comes to reading my book series in their order of release, it’s one of my ‘things’ even if every book can be read as a standalone, I still have an uncontrollable need to start at the beginning and work my way through. The same can definitely be said for Breaking Her Rules, being book six in the Red Stone Security Series, I was all sorts of twitchy when I started reading it, because I have not read any of its predecessors.

The author said it could be read as a standalone, and true to word, it can. I am all-sorts of itchy again now that I have finished it though, because I just want to read all the other books that came before and after it!

Iris and Wyatt, long time friends, short term lovers, very long history. No one knows either of them like the other, so after one lusty and sexy week in Las Vegas, and a couple of misplaced words at completely the wrong time causes Iris to hot foot it back to Miami and her job without a ‘goodbye’, it doesn’t take Wyatt long to go after what he believes is now undeniably his.

If you like a bit of action with your sexy, then this is definitely the series for you, bodyguards, explosions, killers and assassins, this novella had it all, a strong dominant male, and an equally confident female lead kept the story moving swiftly, the drama level - high octane and the angst on the low down. I am eager to see what twists and thrills the author has in store with the rest of the books and the Red Stone Security team.

I fell in love with Katie Reus’s through her PNR writing, the fact it crosses over in to Romantic Suspense with a little mystery for added value, just makes me smile. I have a whole heap of books, characters and stories to immerse myself in from this author, and I cannot wait!

Another hit for Katie's Red Stone Security series!!! I've loved this series since the first book, with each book I fall more and more in love with these characters and lives that Katie sucks me into but this one for sure is a favorite! I LOVE that even though in this book there is a strong capable hero but in it's the heroine who is the main protector! I thought the men of Red Stone Security were hot, but DAMN!!!

Iris and Wyatt aren't your typical couple. They've known each other for most of their lives but only recently decided they should be together and even though they are married things are pretty shaky between them because Iris feels she isn't what Wyatt wants her to be and Wyatt just wants her with him but made the mistake of assuming she would change after they were married.

I liked the dynamics between Iris and Wyatt. Both are strong characters, can take care of themselves but they make themselves vulnerable to each other. It's really sweet! I couldn't help but love them together! It was nice to get little glimpses of past characters but I wish there had been more. I miss the other characters! LOL Loved Jay and Ellie! And I can't wait to see who the next book is about!

Overall I loved this book! It's a typical Red Stone Security story, packed with action, suspense and some really hot lovin'! As usual the writing is great, it pulls you in and makes it hard to put the book down. I didn't put it down at all actually, I read it all in one sitting! I definitely recommend this one to all Romantic Suspense fans and it's not necessary to read the other books in this series but you totally should because they are just as good as this one and some ever better!!!

I liked this book. It was a fun quick read. The one thing it didn't do was lure me in so much that I wanted to read the others in this series....not sure why but I think it simply lacked the depth and emotion on a level where I wanted to know more about those I was reading about and their friends etc.

That said it was a good book to read quickly and I really liked what I read but I just didn't 'love' it.

Not my favorite Katie Reus story at all. (audible whispersync review)

This seemed to be more about he sex than any security company agents. I liked the characters well enough but all they did was have sex or think about having sex.

The story line and plot were just mediocre at best. It was really rather boring. Seriously, this book consisted of 90% sex or thoughts of sex. Hard to enjoy a story where there is not much of one. What story there was could have been good if some of the sex had been eliminated and more story included. I will say the sex was written very hot and steamy, and was written well. I had no issues with that. It was the amount of sex that overshadowed a potentially good story.

There was lots of dialogue throughout the book (even during the sex). I like lots of dialogue, so there is that.

The narration was great! Sophie Eastlake does a fantastic job on the men's voices. They sound like men and they sound sexy. She reads with emotion. Her reading voice is nice and she does not grate on the nerves. Everyone gets their own distinct voice. She is a joy to listen to.

I can't say I recommend this story, unless you want to read a book mostly consisting of good sex. But I wholeheartedly recommend the narrator!

REVIEW:
Rating: 5 Stars

I loved Breaking Her Rules, the 6th book in the Red Stone Series. These books can be read on their own, but I always like to read them in order if it is part of a series.

Iris Tarango and Wyatt Christiansen grew up together. He had an alcoholic for a father and she had a single mom with issues with men. This contributes to who they are. Wyatt has been in love with Iris since he was fifteen and when Wyatt finds himself needing security protection he requests Red Stone Security in the hopes of spending more time with Iris and winning her heart. They both find themselves in danger and protecting each other. I was worried that a female heroine would not give me the male alpha I prefer to read about. That was not the case with this story. Wyatt is an ultra, protective hero. Loved him!

I highly recommend this romantic suspense story. Katie Reus is the ultimate storyteller. I always find myself unable to put down her books. Lots of action, suspense, danger and steamy romance. Everything I love to read in a great story.

REVIEW: BREAKING HER RULES is the sixth installment in Katie Reus’s RED STONE SECURITY series focusing on the men and women who work in high tech security and risk their lives for the people they love. Each of Katie’s storyline couples has a history and a past together and, Breaking Her Rules is no exception. Iris Tarango and Wyatt Christiansen grew up together in poverty-he with an alcoholic father and she with a single mom who refused to be tied down to any man. Life experiences make Iris and Wyatt whom they are today, but both with a military background will find them guarding and protecting each other from the bad guys as well as themselves.

Without giving away a major hook in the premise, Iris and Wyatt have known each other since they were young and unbeknownst to Iris, Wyatt has been in love with Iris since he was fifteen years old. They have always kept in contact with each other, whether on deployment, assignment or across the world, but one year earlier when Wyatt had been unable to contact Iris, his heart and his soul knew that he would never be able to live without the woman he has loved all of his life.

The storyline and their relationship becomes complicated when Red Stone Security is asked to protect Wyatt Christiansen after an attempt on his life is discovered by his staff. Knowing Iris is employed by Red Stone Security, Wyatt specifically asks for Iris hoping to get some one of one time with the woman he loved. But things go from bad to worse, when several more attempts against Wyatt’s life leave two members of the security team dead and a distraught Wyatt when Iris is kidnapped and held for ransom.

BREAKING HER RULES is another fast paced and amazing storyline by Katie Reus.. Wyatt Christiansen is a man in love, knows what he wants and will do whatever he can to ensure the woman he loves is kept safe and by his side. Iris is a strong heroine who is afraid to lose everything she has worked for throughout her life, but is willing to give love a chance with the man who literally is bound to her heart and her soul. I am a big fan of Katie's Red Stone Security series and Breaking Her Rules is another welcome read. You can feel the need, the passion and the love as Katie writes a storyline about two people who have always known they belong together.

I was given an Advance copy of BREAKING HER RULES in exchange for an honest Review.

I was a little worried about this book mainly because it’s about a female Red Stone Security agent… this didn’t necessarily worry because she was female more because I was afraid that her love interest wouldn’t be as kick ass as all the other male character in this series.

I was silly to have doubts…

I’ve loved this series since I first picked up DANGER NEXT DOOR (Red Stone Security #2) one of the great things about this series is each book can stand alone. Ok back to my thought on this particular installment of the series. I have one word for you…

FANTASTIC!

The truth is I’ve yet to find something Katie has written that I haven’t enjoyed, but this book just kept on surprising me.

The plot was well thought out and had some really interesting elements; a female assassin, a Vegas tycoon, an older eccentric rich business man, scary explosive technology, and Red Stone’s hard-ass Female Agent.

I remember Iris’s character from HIS TO POROTECT and I gotta tell you that within the first chapter of BREAKING HER RULES I was shocked… married? Iris is a great character—strong and stubborn but you find little moments where she is soft and while maybe a little afraid of love she feels it deeply even if she won’t admit it.

Wyatt had me smiling from the first lines he spoke. As a fan of paranormal—most of the time—I love a possessive hard ass as a leading male, I’d say Wyatt fit that bill without sprouting fangs or turning into a gorgeous fur covered animal ;)

This story had me hooked and with every turn the story took I was sucked in even further. I thought I knew what was coming more than once and was shut down by the depth of Katie’s story telling ability—the girl knows how to add twists and turns. I’d love to get a peek at her research process, she writes as if she’s an expert in security detail, bombs, assassins, and weaponry… so well in fact that it’s a little scary lol.

Anyways if you can’t already tell I loved this story it might possibly be my favorite in the series… who am I kidding I can’t pick a favorite. I would absolutely recommend this book for anyone who loves strong females, hot men, and a little danger wrapped up brilliantly in a romantic suspense. Really I would recommend reading every book in this series!

I received a copy for an honest review.

I loved the fact that Iris is the head of her security team. She is a strong, competent, and talented heroine. Yet, Iris is emotionally vulnerable, not letting herself love anyone or anything due to the risk of losing it. Iris is independent and one of the best at what she does. A serious bad ass woman I’d love to be when I grow up ;). She loves Wyatt and has for a long time, but fights it with everything she has. After a week in Vegas with him she runs back to her comfort zone, Miami and her job. Iris has to face Wyatt a month later when he shows up in Miami.

Wyatt has a dominate personality. I loved Wyatt. He’s known Iris since childhood, been attracted to her since he was 15, and admitted his love for her, to himself, for a year. He was raised in the same basic circumstances as Iris and is hesitant to admit his love to her due to his fear of rejection. Wyatt is the possessive and jealous type that I like. He doesn’t go overboard, but I love it when alpha males lose their control a bit due to jealousy over “their woman”. Wyatt has spent his entire adult life striving to succeed and make money. That is until he acknowledges his love of Iris and she takes the top spot in his life.

I was pretty much hooked by the first page and stayed up way too late to finish it. There was enough action to keep me turning the pages and I was surprised to find out who was actually behind everything. The sex between Wyatt and Iris was well written, diverse and hot. This is the 6th book in the series but can be read as a stand-alone.
I recommend this book for fans of Romantic Suspense. Anyone who likes a strong, kick ass heroine. Hot alpha males and intense action with a bit of mystery.

Let me be honest here, I don't tend to go for suspence romance. I don't know really why, just never really got into. However, I'm all for trying new things. So, todays selection is Breaking Her Rules by Katie Reus. I must that I actually enjoyed the story and here's why?

First off, who doesn't love a butt kicking heroine, who really doesn't need a man to protect. That's pretty awesome. Which we have that with Iris Tarango, who works for Red Stone. Then you have the oh so yummy hero, Wyatt Christiansen, who just happens to be her husband. You got to love what happens in Vegas. Anyways, now they need to work together to make sure Wyatt stays safe.

Overall, I have say I found this Breaking Her Rules enjoyable. Plus, I liked the fast pace of the story once the establish they need to work together. Not only that Ms. Reus was able to make me envision some of the action scenes in my mind as I read the story. For someone who doesn't read a lot of suspense romance, I found this worth the read and you might want to checkout the story. Bottom line is if you are looking for a fast pace action read with a butt kicking heroine and yummy hero, go for Breaking Her Rules.

Breaking her Rules is a fast paced suspense novel with a red hot romance. Iris Tarango is an operative with Red Stone Security. She is very good at what she does. Iris is a beautiful, strong-willed woman. She has one weakness and that is Wyatt Christiansen, her husband. During her vacation a month ago, they married. The intensity of their emotions caused Iris to run back to Miami. Now Wyatt has come to reclaim his wife. He needs her more than ever because he is now the target of an assassin. Iris becomes his bodyguard and realizes how much Wyatt means to her. Will their love let them overcome their problems or will a bullet end their chance of a HEA? I was lucky enough to receive a copy from the author, but it did not influence my opinion. I loved this book! Katie Reus has written a story filled with passion and suspense that kept me reading until the last page. Don't miss out on a great story!

This was my first Katie Reus book and I've been hooked ever since. I read the sample first and immediately bought it after. I just knew this was my kinda book.

I just loved Wyatt!

I loved his love for Iris and his commitment to make their marriage work. He's also possessive and sexy as hell. I love how he doesn't give up on Iris even though she has some issues she needs to work through, just patiently worms his way through her defenses.

"You know you're the only woman for me."

I also loved Iris. I love badass female heroines!

The romance was wonderful in this book. I'm still waiting for another Katie Reus man to tempt me as much as Wyatt. My only complaint is that the book's too short!

Do not miss out on this amazing book!

I wasn't sure how I would like this, considering Iris was going to be a bodyguard of someone with military experience. It kind of rubbed me the wrong way, not because she's a female, but because he used his own leverage to get her and put her in danger.

The blurb of this doesn't give too much away, so therefore, I don't want to give much away either. So I am going to say I loved Wyatt and Iris! WAY more than I thought I would.

I was sad I didn't get to see Travis, but Vincent played a big part, so I am hoping for his story soon. Also, where's Porter? Lizzie is around, but no Porter. I miss him.

I will also say that Iris is one hell of a badass and I love the action scenes with her in them.

Reviewing the audible version narrated by Sophie Easlake. She has a nice tone of voice; soft but clear. This was my first audible and what a nice surprise. I was able to listen to pretty much all of it in the time it took me to do all the things I had to do around the house. Only other thing I have to say about it though is that it was hard for me to keep a straight face when she did the hero’s voice. I couldn't stop myself from laughing out loud! And I didn't even think it was funny, it was just strange! But don’t let that deter you from enjoying the story because it was awesome.

Breaking Her Rules is part of Katie Reus’ Red Stone Security Series. It introduces us to Iris, an ex-marine and team leader of her security team. It sounded like she had a hard life growing up and turned to the Marines because it was the only thing she viewed as “the good guys.” Her friend Wyatt was some sort of anchor to that past life but also the only good and true friend she ever really had. While visiting him in Las Vegas they decide to get married without thinking much of the consequences. Their relationship may look a bit rushed but to me it sounded congruent with the story. They were after all friends since childhood and he was hiding his true feeling for her for a long while. I admire and love strong, relentless, take-charge heroines and Iris fulfilled the pattern to a “T”. It seemed logical that she felt vulnerable when he kind of asked her to give up everything she'd fought hard for and stayed with him. I mean, give the girl a few moments to think about what was happening before blurting out something like that! Ok, I don't agree with her reaction but I can understand why she acted the way she acted.
Reus’ writing voice was impeccable as usual. The narration flowed naturally and secondary characters were a plus, always on point. I've read other reviews that say the plot was predictable and that it was obvious they would end up together. Well of course they will end up together; it’s Suspense Romance for a reason. And as far as the villain, there has to be a rock in the path to happiness to make it worth it, but that’s why we expect the plot to be good. Predictable or not, the plot was full of action, suspense, and full of emotions, and in this instance, the ride to happiness was what it was all about. But in case you're wondering, the plot was so not predictable =D

So I think one of my favorite things about this book is the role reversal of Iris as the bodyguard protecting Wyatt. Iris was an incredibly strong heroine who knew how to take care of herself and others and really valued her job and her skills. Wyatt also respected these skills although a miscommunication in Vegas has led Iris to believe that Wyatt is looking for more of a traditional "housewife". I was worried that Wyatt would be overly possessive and not like what Iris does as a job but instead it created a really interesting struggle for Wyatt who greatly respects Iris's strength but is also terrified of losing her because she'll sacrifice herself to save him.

Just like the other RED STONE SECURITY books, there was plenty of action to keep the book moving at a quick pace. Katie Reus is definitely a master at romantic suspense and I always get sucked into her stories no matter what. My one complaint would be the fact that Iris would be allowed to work as Wyatt's bodyguard in the first place. Iris's boss is aware of the marriage but he still allows it because Wyatt is a powerful person. However, I feel like Harrison has just as much clout, so it just didn't make sense to me. However, Iris is only his official bodyguard for a short amount of time before she steps back and decides to just be his wife and attempt to give their marriage a try.

I thought that Wyatt and Iris were a great couple because they were both incredibly intense although Iris hides most of it behind a calm facade. Even though their lives are very different now as adults they have a lot of commonalities like their upbringing and military service that gives them a good foundation for a relationship. They also have crazy chemistry which clearly jumps off the pages for the reader, so I enjoyed watching these two learn to work together and find their happiness.

As one of Red Stone Security’s employees Iris takes her job very seriously. It is job she loves and also something that she excels at. Her military experience makes her perfect for the job. Her amazing looks allows her to go unnoticed as a guard on some jobs. Her assignment of Wyatt whom she knows far more about than any of her co-workers would ever suspect is about to take her role as guardian to a whole new level.

There is a spoiler that I totally want to tell you about. It makes Wyatt and Iris so entertaining as a couple. It is something you find out about within the first few pages, but the surprise of it makes it a spoiler. That little bombshell alone is worth buying this book for. It is also that that makes the chemistry between Iris and Wyatt so intense. I also enjoyed the protector role balance between them. Wyatt is as alpha as most worthy romance heroes. This makes him want to protect his lady. Iris is full of bad-assery, she works in private security, Wyatt has hired the company she works for for protection. Oh yes, plenty of entertainment there. The action was a lot more intense with this installment of the series too. All around great read!

The only thing I did not like about Breaking Her Rules was the flashbacks and reminiscing dreams. That is a personal thing with me, thus it most likely will not affect most people. I am just one of those people that like to stay in the here and now. The dreams and remembrances does have to do with a portion of Iris and Wyatt’s happily ever after that the readers are not present for, so they are necessary for the tale.

Each book in the Red Stone Security series can be read as a stand alone. The order in which you read them also does not matter. The setting is Miami and the characters work for Red Stone Security.

I loved this book. It is one of my favorites. I read it a second time, and loved it the second time as much as I did the 1st time I read it.

It was full of suspense, hot steamy romance scenes, and had a touch of action.
Iris, and Wyatt has been friends for many years. When they met in Los Vegas for a vacation, they got married. Iris works for a security firm and loves her job. Wyatt is a rich business man who owns hotels. Iris does not think she can fit into his world. She just can’t be that picture perfect wife. So she leaves, only leaving a note behind. Her boss, and team members are shocked, that she went away for a vacation, and came back married. She didn't tell anyone right away, so they were shocked when they found out.
A short time later, Wyatt hired her security firm to protect him from threats made against his life. Iris couldn’t bear to think of anyone wanting to hurt him. She made the decision to be there to offer around the clock protection for Wyatt.

The books heated up with the romance, and action.
I enjoyed this book. It’s a short read, but a nice escape for a few hours.

Sample from chapter 11
They both froze as something that sounded like glass shattering and a sonic boom or.... "Oh My God." Heart pounding out of control, she sprinted back the way she'd come with Wyatt right next to her.

I received an advanced copy for review.

Breaking Her Rules is the sixth book in the Red Stone Security series and I’ve devoured each and every one. If you love strong alpha personalities, heart-thumping suspense, and hot smoking chemistry, then this is the series for you!

The previous books in the series have had more of a male lead, so I was very excited for Iris’s story. And of course, Ms. Reus did not disappoint… Iris is assigned to lead the security detail to guard wealthy businessman Wyatt Christiansen after an attempt on his life. While Iris is a complete professional on any assignment, this one is important not only as a Red Stone assignment but on a more personal level. Iris and Wyatt have known each other since childhood and share a very special past… a past that now could impact their future. As Iris tries to stay a step ahead and figure out who wants Wyatt dead and why, she discovers that Wyatt’s safety is important for more than just professional reasons.

This is a highly recommended read with a kick-ass heroine who also has a tender side.

While each of the books in the series can be read as a stand-alone, it is fun to see characters from the other books. I look forward to the next installment.

Breaking Her Rules is the sixth book in the Red Stone Security series. Each book in the series is uniquly amazing.

This book tells the story of Iris.Iris is on a mission when she accidentally runs into Wyatt, her very recent husbant.Iris and Wyatt have known each other since they were children but it is not until recently that they realised that they are good for each other. They both had harsh childhoods but they grew up to be two strong characters with ambitious careers.

Iris thinks their marriage is a mistake and so she tries to get away from it through divorcebut Wyatt is adamant. So when Wyatt's life is threatened,Iris will do anything to protect what's hers...

I really liked this book!It had something uniquely compared to the other books in the series.

Breaking Her Rules is an incredible book that can also be read as a stand alone.I totally recommend it...

Such a sweet, sexy and short story!

Iris, a former marine, and now an Agent of the Red Stone Security, finds herself guarding her childhood friend Wyatt, the now tycoon billionaire, and former marine. Yup, that's one long title.

Oh wait... I forgot to add.

He is also her husband.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas right? Mostly, with the exception of valid marriage contracts, signed when sober.

Explosive nights in Vegas are not something either of them forgot. So when Wyatt, after giving her the space she needs, comes back to get her, he finds himself a target. Specifically requesting his wife to guard him wasn't hard. But actually letting her guard him, while his manliness stands back, nope, that won't do. So, we find some double-back-to-back guarding and a little X-rated marital action going on!

Iris is working protection for Red Stone Security when what she tried to keep a secret comes clomping right in to it all - her best friend and since one month her husband.
Wyatt knew he loved Iris when they reconnected but she didn´t seem to be ready to accept their mutual feelings, until last month when she visited him in Vegas.
Even if the marriage was unexpected he´s not going to let her run away.
He´s going after what they both need and want.
What neither of them expected was the threats waiting for him in Miami.
Quick read, suspense, action and smutty fluff in an awesome combo. Love this series!

This was an enjoyable read, but something near the end of the book made me really dislike Iris.
"The past two weeks had been amazing, but there had been a cloud hanging over them. Not exactly a dark one, but she hadn't been able to tell him about her plans to move here because she wanted it to be a surprise and she knew it had been eating away at him"
Ok, so the man you claim that you love is being totally stressed out by the idea that you're going to be living in different states, and you don't tell him that you're moving to be with him because you want it to be a surprise?! That's really immature and selfish.

I am a book boyfriend whore, and Wyatt is my newest John. Whoo!! Loved his dominance and possessiveness – he made me tingly!

Iris was kickass when it came to her job, but vulnerable and insecure when it came to her relationship with Wyatt. Soul mates – the two of them – they did a lot of talking, but neither of them actually said what needed saying to one another. They were really hot, and fun, and frustrating. My favorite RSS couple. Their passion was earthy and intense; their connection strong – the love and need evident. I was glad they were able to work out their shit and just be happy.

A perfect blend of action and romance! Highly enjoyable!

I loved this one! Perhaps this is even my favouite one so far of this entire series! I loved Iris and it was great to see a woman as part of the Red Stone Security team, but not only that but her as a leader. Wyatt was fantastic and he and Iris were well matched. This was hot, steamy and full of action and suspense. I loved it, loved how it ended and would love to see this couple pop back up again for visits in future books. A must read for fans of this series!

Strong 4 stars. I like reading about a kick ass woman as well as the typical Alpha Male!

Now also know how new Serafina: Sin City series (First Surrender) fits in and is connected with this series.
