"Not your mother's romance, this is an erotic thriller that will leave you breathless and have you begging for more..."
Stephanie Bradford is a young, attractive, and successful District Attorney on her way to the top. She has a near perfect husband, the perfect life, and she has it all in the palm of her hand. When her marriage falls into a romantic rut, Stephanie is skillfully swooned by a charming and intriguing stranger who looks to be the answer to all of her fantasies. A whirlwind and erotic affair quickly spirals out of control, and before long, Stephanie learns that things aren’t always as they appear, and people are rarely who they seem. One poor decision becomes the catalyst that rips her life apart, and Stephanie is left with nothing but the thirst for revenge against the man who viciously stole everything from her. The Suicide Princess is a sexually charged roller coaster ride where nothing is as it seems and everything is at stake!
Anthony Bryan is the author of the smash hit The Suicide Princess, and the soon-to-be-released Walk Through My Door. Described as "Not your mother's old romance writer," Anthony will leave you breathless and have you begging for more...
Born and raised in London, UK, Anthony's hope, more than anything, is that his words can provide an escape for you, and he hopes they take you on a journey you won’t soon forget. His goal is to give you something different, refreshing and unlike anything you've ever read. In a sea of authors going by their first two initials and pumping out the same cookie-cutter stories, Anthony can only try to be the one who stands out and takes you on one hell of a ride with each story he produces.
Get ready to find your favorite reading spot, pour yourself a drink (or two) and love every second of every page he writes… After all, he writes them for you!
Throughout his entire life, even as a young child, reading has always been Anthony's escape from reality. It was a way to temporarily leave the boring monotony of day-to-day life, and it allowed him to visit far off lands, meet unusual characters, take incredible adventures, and even learn about the very edges of our universe. Being able to take his love of reading and transform it to a passion for writing has been the greatest gift he has ever been given.
So, I must be honest. I did something I never do… I'm a shameless hussy and practically begged the author for an ARC of THE SUICIDE PRINCESS. Well, okay, let’s not get crazy, I didn't have to quite resort to begging, but I did ask to read it and he's such a doll that he indulged my curiosity and honored my bold request!
A recommendation was what first piqued my interest in THE SUICIDE PRINCESS, but the blurb is what sealed the deal for me. The story certainly contains elements that I generally flock to:
✔ Erotic ✔ Mysterious ✔ Romantic (sort of)
Stephanie Bradford is a very smart woman, but apparently that is only when it comes to the books. When it comes to practical applications in real life, it seems that she is a complete dumbass. From her very first encounter with the mysterious stranger, Derrick, who was OBVIOUSLY hitting on her, I knew she was going to need a slap in the face to get her out of that lust induced haze brought on by said stranger.
Stephanie has it all, but in the middle of all the perfection, she is missing the passion she once had with her husband. So, in a snap decision, she puts everything on the line for a little nookie – ok, a lot of dirty-hot nookie, but nookie nonetheless. Good lord! I was stressed out while reading the first few pages, because I knew what it was all leading up to – I also knew nothing good could possibly come of it. Here’s what I learned from her lover turned psycho:
❝ ... treat a slut like a lady and treat a lady like a slut ...❞
I like that. Being a lady myself, I understand the excitement behind that mentality. You just want to remember that if you are married, then your husband should be the one treating you like a slut (if you’re a lady, of course). I have no idea what lover-boy Derrick has in his pants, but it must be one magical cock, because Stephanie’s poor decision to flirt via text message turns into an illicit affair in record time. Stephanie must have been feeling VERY deprived because she puts her marriage in jeopardy, her job as an up and coming attorney at risk and generally puts sex with Derrick before just about everything else.
Where on earth does a woman find a husband like Jacob? That man is a freaking saint! He definitely deserves the “Husband of the Year” award – well, I keep forgetting that he was totally ignoring Stephanie’s sexual needs, so he isn’t perfect, but damned near close to it!
THE SUICIDE PRINCESS is a great story for readers who enjoy an exciting combination of suspense, sex, lust and romance. New author, Anthony Bryan is definitely going on my “Men Who Write Erotic Romance - Must Read” list (if you know me, then you know I am less inclined to read erotic/romance reads written by male authors, but I am slowly changing my mind on that.). Check out THE SUICIDE PRINCESS, I doubt you will be disappointed.

This one was a toughie for me...but here does nothing.
Did I enjoy the book? Yes. I actually did. But, here is the thing: at first I did not. I felt like the narrator was just not well written, but I felt like I had to press on because Anthony has turned into a virtual friend of mine and I figured that I owed it to him to see it through to the end. I found myself kind of frustrated in parts of it, because it was just not moving along as smoothly as I wanted it to.
The sexual scenes though, those were well written and detailed. I mean, they were just plain HOT!
Man, the last 20% of this book completely changed my mind about it not being a great book. It want from from an adulterous, annoying, erotica with good points here and there, to a fantastic plot twist and ending that made me so happy that I finished this book!
There are elements in this book that might make some people uncomfortable as well: drug use, cheating, F/F/M scene, and explicit, degrading sex scenes. I have pretty tough skin when it comes to these sensitive subjects and like books to float into the waters of the taboo, and Anthony did a great job at it. So If you are looking for a hot erotica book with a few surprises and an amazing ending, please give this book a try! I have to say that I am impressed by this debut novel and am looking forward to many more books to come from Anthony!
this book is so sexy hot! there are parts that you will HAVE TO, ahem, go be alone for a few minutes, trust me!
I was contacted & asked to read this as an ARC, and i have to say it's a lot different than a lot in this genre. i've been seeing a lot of the same sequence of events happening in a lot of erotica and contemp romance and it's getting old. this book broke all the molds.
I can see how some of the sex scenes in this book might be a bit much for some readers, but I loved them. i could easily relate to a lot of the main character's fantasies, and i think the scenes are some of the hottest I've ever read. LOVED them!
the one thing that through me off as I started reading, was the lack of character development, and it made me feel like I wasn't connecting with them very well. but the way this author writes is just different, and all of a sudden I felt like I knew them so well without ever noticing exactly when it happened. he writes in a way that he doesn't sit down and hold your hand through character introductions, and you just gradually, and more naturally get to know them. I thought it was pretty cool and was almost effortless by the author.
it's hard to give a good review without giving away the story, and trust me, you want this one to be a complete surprise. but it starts out in one direction but you eventually start seeing that something very mysterious and suspicious is happening to the main character, Stephanie. you reach a point where you start saying, "what the f!", and you can't stop reading. and the ending, i never saw that coming.
this book is sexy, smart, and very enjoyable. i just can't wait to see what he writes next!
Holy mother of weave a story with lies, love, deceit and murder. What the hell just happened? Who plays with a person’s emotions like this? Let a bitch breath for a chapter once in a while. I don’t know if I’m more in awe at the fact that I had no idea about the ending or the fact I didn’t toss my kindle and bounce it off every wall in my house. I actually at one point thought for my review I would just put; “I rubbed one off, got pissed off, called the author a jerk off then wondered how the hell he pulled the end off.“ Once I started the ride I was all in and just sat back and took it all in.
Mistakes can be made on every level, but once they are made you can’t cover them up and eventually the truth comes out. As in every book you’re instantly pulled to your favorite character. I find myself forgiving things that in real life I would never even consider forgiving. This was no exception; I forgave Stephanie instantly. We have all been in the situation of feeling like our relationship is losing the spark. When you have tried everything to spice up a relationship, but it will soon fail if you’re the only one trying. The problems start when the distraction you went looking for - that spark you find with someone else turns into something deeper – or so you thought.
Let me just say that Stephanie pissed me off a lot during this book. I can’t tell you how many times I found myself saying “Just freaking come clean already.” Derrick was not far behind in the people who piss me off. He went from attentive and hot to dirt bag real fast. This is where I found myself in unknown territory. I usually am drawn right to the dickheads in a book. This was not the case, I was drawn to Jacob. He was the rock in this book for me and in the end the saving grace. Speaking of the end - Holy shit!
The only advice I can give is to grip the kindle tightly and have the biggest bottle of booze ready. You will need it trust me. The story was well written and I loved the suspense and the fact that you have no idea how the hell the book is going to end is another freaking added bonus.
Sexy, hot, and steamy with a bit of mystery - can't get any better than this!!!
Lucky me, I got to read this early and I couldn't put it down once I started.
Stephanie is someone that many women are going to be able to relate to. She gets herself into a situation that many women fantasize about but are never able to do. Stephanie has it all - great job, perfect husband. However, she finds herself wanting to shake up her life a bit. And shake it up she does. I won't give away any details because I want everyone to read this and find out what I am talking about!! It's that damn good!!!
Derrick - where do I begin with him??? You'll love him and hate him - that's all I can say cause anything else will give it all away. Just read and find out why.
Anthony's writing is so different and I love it. It's fast paced and yet you don't miss anything. You get to really know the characters and how they feel. You will get sucked in from the beginning and then when the curve ball is thrown, you get even more drawn in than before, which I didn't think was possible. And the sex is - holy shit - off the charts. You will need a few cold showers while reading this book. Very erotic and so well written!!
This book is so unique from everything else that I have read. Yes, the book has it's erotic thrills (threesome is all I am saying) but the plot is also extremely well thought out and written. Normally you get one without the other but Anthony delivers everything perfectly!! Anthony is brillant - that's all I can say. I can't wait to see what he comes up with next.
Everyone needs to read this!!! It will shock and amaze you.
I was lucky enough to read a very early version of this book and I was hooked from the first chapter.
Stephanie is in a situation I'm sure more than a few gals can relate to....she's got a great life, and from the outside looking it, it's the All-American dream ....but she has the urge for more and is stuck in a dismal, boring routine. It's when Stephanie decides to do something about her urges that things start to get interesting.
This story had some seriously hot and sexy scenes and surprised me with more than a few twists I never saw coming. To me, that's what put this particular book above the other erotica I have read lately. It just has that touch of "more" that I feel makes a great read.
I will be posting a more detailed review closer to release date.....
So I had the privilege of reading an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. The SUICIDE PRINCESS is a VERY fast paced, erotic story of a woman who feels neglected in her marriage. So when temptation comes calling in the form of a very attractive stranger she's all too willing to live out her wildest fantasy. As with all actions come consequences and she soon finds her fantasy is really a nightmare. It takes her losing everything to finally see that she truely had it all and is left wondering if in the end, can true love really prevail? To find out you'll have to read :) This is NOT a romance novel, too gritty and thrilling to be in same category. It is however highly erotic...blushing is a given. Recommend reading in private.
“People are never happy with what they have – we always want more and more. In some ways, it’s good. It keeps us moving forward and makes us want to improve our lives. We just need to learn when to stop and realize when we have enough.”
“We need to realize when we have what we really need to make us happy.”“
I don’t know where to place this book because it was so much more than an erotic read, it was a web of so many things I am still sitting here trying to decide what I just experienced. Was it HOT? Let me just say there is a threesome in this book that literally had me blushing in a couple places. The detail Anthony writes with is not for everyone but with that he definitely does not disappoint his readers. He truly let's you experience fantasies that both men and women share. But he gives you so much more than sex, he takes you on a journey that in the end leaves you feeling like a fast pace car chase and leaves you saying OMG what the hell was that!!
“We could call it something like Naughty Girl 101.”
“So what would my first lesson be?”
Oh this felt like Naughty Girl something!! In the beginning we meet a wife who is bored in her marriage. Stephanie misses the fire, the excitement, the playfulness that as a marriage goes on has a tendency to disappear, Anthony paints the image so many live with. You instantly bond with her feelings and her emotions. But something happens in Stephanie life when she meets a stranger in line. A stranger that gives her the butterflies and a spark she hasn’t felt.
“You dirty whore!” Karen said with a kidding tone. “Details, I want details.”“
Details you want details … Derrick, Derrick the bad boy Alpha that appears on a motorcycle with the tattoos and the mouth that makes every book whores knees go weak. Stephanie becomes consumed with Derrick, and even though she has guilt the feelings she gets with Derrick override. He is a complete Dominate and she is the perfect submissive. He screams alpha, he is the definition of what makes women stop and glance.
““I have some tricks, brother, but basically just treat a slut like a lady and treat a lady like a slut, and they will love it.”“
He pushes her limits and he gives her what she desired in her marriage. He shows her what she was missing and he makes her feel wanted. But I know you are wondering about this husband, right?! So let’s talk about Jacob. Jacob is the husband most dream about the one who will support you, the one who is your cheerleader. They are the American dream, the marriage little girls pretend to have. To be honest as a reader you feel for Jacob but you also want to slap him at the beginning as you watch Stephanie beg for him to touch the bad girl in her, to help her live out this sexual fantasy.
““Stephanie yearned to become Jacob’s bad girl.” “
This story gives a whole new meaning to the grass isn’t always green on the other side. We watch as Stephanie gives up and let's go. We get to watch as a husband comes to terms with the fact his dream marriage is now a nightmare. We watch this husband become what he should have been and fall in love with him as we break for him. This book opens your eyes to harsh realities of what is happening in so many marriages. It was a raw, intense ride that at times I couldn’t believe I was on. So here I am still sitting here saying “What would I label this book” well it’s erotic, but I think it so much more and the one thing I can say without thought it is not a “Stinker"! And it taught a lesson I will never forget.
“Making decisions is easy; it's living with the consequences of our decisions that is hard."“
How far disengaged does a person have to be before realizing that the invisible line of moral obligation has been crossed? Some individuals are conscious of the decisions, but does that make them rational? For Stephanie, she justifies the actions in her mind, and what is more frightening, you can justify them too. Suicide Princess is a dynamic tale of walking the path between right and wrong, biological instinct and evolutionary expectation, lust and love, want and need. When Derrick appears in Stephanie’s life, it is innocent enough, until it isn’t. Immediately tapping into Stephanie’s unmet desires, Derrick rocks her foundation from the moment they meet. Completely caught off guard and loosely tethered to a lackluster husband, circumstances are ripe for a scandalous tryst. However, the further she travels into the world Derrick offers, the more she begins to understand “sometimes there is no going back”. This story held many unexpected twists, the plot is strong and engaging, and the scenes made even me blush which is pretty damn hard to do. I never expected it to go where it did, and I am so glad that it did. I was a bit curious and skeptical about how well a man could write a story like this, but it is unnerving how intuitive to a woman’s logic Mr. Bryan really is. I am a fan of being caught off guard and given literary whiplash. Suicide Princess did not disappoint.
I was lucky to get an ARC of The Suicide Princess from the author in exchange for an honest review. I have to say Anthony did a great job on his debut novel.
The main female character in this book, Stephanie, is married but not feeling fulfilled in her life. An encounter with a stranger, Derrick, and her life is turned upside down. She enters a relationship with him and risks everything for him and the way she thinks he makes her feel. This book isn’t out yet and I don’t want to give anything away, but things aren’t always what they seem. Is it worth it to give up everything for a man you just met and barely know? Stephanie seems to think so. Does her opinion change as time goes on and her world starts to crumble?
When I started reading this book I kept thinking, “This is written by a man. I don’t read many books written by men.” But the story sucks you in and Anthony does such a good job it doesn’t matter and you totally forget. The writing is excellent, the characters are well developed, the plot is great (I thought I knew where the story was going but I was wrong) and the sex is hot.
Overall, a great read- I definitely recommend The Suicide Princess and look forward to reading more from Anthony.
I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.
Let me start by saying, I didn't expect much when I started reading this book. Let's be honest... it's an erotic type non-romance written by a guy. I was expecting it to be written like a bad porno (you know the one... where the pizza guy shows up and the girl answers the door naked and has no money to pay him, but offers 'another' way to pay... cheesey!), I was pleasantly surprised. This book will not be for everyone, but it's refreshing to see a guys take on this type of book.
The main character, Stephanie, has what may seem like the perfect life with a great career ahead of her and a caring husband. The problem is, she wants more and thinks the grass is greener on the other side. She finds out, the hard way, that the other side is only greener because it's full of manure.
There are parts of this book that are so steamy, I can only describe them as raw, no holds barred looks into what really happens behind closed doors. Yes, there was one part where I was thinking 'Wait... she wants him to do WHAT?!?', but you have to remember that Stephanie is looking to add spice to her life and she is sick of the mundane.
Again, there will be no spoilers. You want spoilers? Read the book!
I’ll be honest and say that I have sat on writing this review for a couple of weeks for fear that what I have to say is not going to be well received. Unfortunately in a time of street teams, fan girls and internet bullies it is becoming increasingly more difficult to write an actual, honest to goodness, critique of an author’s work, without some sort of backlash. My review is not based in emotion; it is simply based on my interpretation of the work that the author presented to the reader, (in this case, me) that’s it. I’m not here to slander, belittle, or conversely give out five star ratings when I feel they are unwarranted. I am providing honest, heartfelt, constructive criticism, and I hope it is accepted as exactly that.
Stephanie is an up and coming lawyer, ready to take on her first solo case when a chance meeting with a stranger at lunch one day turns her world upside down. She’s in a rut at home. There’s no doubt her husband Jacob loves her, but they’ve reached a point in their relationship where everything is too familiar and there is no excitement left. So when she meets Derrick, the tall, dark, and mysterious man who works in private security, she is instantly smitten, especially when he shows interest in her.
Stephanie soon finds out though that there is more to Derrick than he lets on. He enjoys the kinkier side of things and likes to “punish” her for her perceived indiscretions. His punishments include light BDSM and the threat of anal penetration.
The Suicide Princess, storyline wise, in a very interesting premise. It will hold you on the edge of your seat and the psychological aspect of it is thrilling and effective. Given the right tools, namely an editor, it could be a very good book, but in its current incarnation, it is very difficult to read. I’m not entirely sure why, but the author chooses to use the characters names exclusively in the third person narration of the story. What this means is that there is an obvious lack of pronouns. He/she, her/him, etc. are all missing and the character’s name appears more often than not. This reads incredibly clunky to the point of distraction. For example:
Stephanie looked at the clock on her wall and realized it was only five minutes until four. Stephanie normally left work at five, but she was hoping to leave early today, so she could prepare for her evening. Stephanie picked up the phone and was bringing the receiver to her ear, when Webber entered her office.
Or:
To the contrary of Stephanie’s thoughts, Webber was extremely impressed with Stephanie’s performance and attitude. He saw Stephanie as a future asset to his team, and he knew she had an extremely bright future.
The name Stephanie is mentioned over 1300 times in the book. In many instances, there was only one character being referred to at any given time, so there was no risk of confusion on the reader’s part, so I really don’t understand why the author chose this method of construction. A content editor would most definitely have helped in this matter.
There were several grammatical issues, such as subject/verb agreement (the pair was quickly becoming friends), and a very odd narration shift that were hard to overlook as well. The entire book has been in the third person until about 72% in and there is a line that says “Stephanie had the intense feeling of fear that we have all experienced at least once in our lives.” At no other point in the book has the narrator interjected himself in the story, and it really struck me as odd. There was one line in particular that was so hilariously constructed that I couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
Stephanie’s ass, already tender from her earlier spanking, began to fade as the crushed pills and alcohol were beginning to dull her senses.
I’m not sure how to interpret that. Either Stephanie has found a magic elixir of pills and booze that have made her ass start to shrink (in which case, I’ll have what she’s having!) or she has ingested so many pills and booze she no longer cares about its size (in which case, sign me up for that too!). This is a case where an editor would have caught that and we wouldn’t be having this discussion. Proofreading-wise, this book was fine. There were not the blatant spelling errors, misuse of their/there/they’re, etc. that we often see so it is not a proofreading issue, it is editing.
I consulted with some of my indie author friends about this and asked them how they felt about it. I know that editors cost money, and when you’re just starting out, money can be hard to come by, but as one of them said, (and I’m paraphrasing here) “as an indie author, we especially owe it to the reader so we are taken more seriously,” which, once I got to thinking about, I agree completely.
As far as the eroticism of the book, unfortunately it just didn’t work for me either, and I’m sure that this is just a matter of personal preference. To me, the sex scenes read far more clinically, than sensually, and the use of anal penetration as a threat was a serious turn off (the threat, not the act itself).
In closing, I would rate this at a 2 ½ to 3 star book. It wasn’t bad, not in the least; it certainly holds a lot of promise. Given a major revamp with an editor, it could easily be a five star read. I give a ton of credit to Mr. Bryant, not only as an indie author, but also as a male taking on a genre that is dominated by women. There’s not enough Ritalin in the world for me to ever have the focus to write an entire novel so I will always give credit where it is due, however this book as it stands right now, could use some more work.
“People are never happy with what they have – we always want more and more. In some ways, it’s good. It keeps us moving forward and makes us want to improve our lives. We just need to learn when to stop and realize when we have enough.”
Stephanie is a lawyer on the up and up at the District Attorney’s office.
She works hard to prove herself and her worth as a lawyer. She has it all and is working on getting everything she wants. But. She is missing something. She is bored. Her life is missing that spark…that excitement….it’s missing passion beyond the courtroom. It’s missing the hot, dirty sex.
So what does she do when her husband Jacob refuses to appease her sexual desires at home? She decides to start a steamy, dirty affair with a smooth talking, sex on a stick mystery man.
Derrek is a man in charge. He wants things done his way. He wants a girl to get filthy for him. But...he has an agenda...which causes a chain of events that brings Stephanie's world crashing down.
”…..treat a slut like a lady and treat a lady like a slut, and they will love it.”
Yes. We all make mistakes in life. We all sometimes choose a path that should have been barricaded off. But. There is no covering up your misdoings. You can’t hide the truth forever. It will eventually come back and bite you in the ass so hard and fuck you over.
Karma is a bitch though. And in this book, we learned that it was best served steamy…in the form of the ultimate revenge.
“Making decisions is easy; it's living with the consequences of our decisions that is hard."
Well….. I think I may be the minority here. Oh man. Shit. Ok…. My apologies to the author for my review. But it is my honest review....which you asked for.
You can write sex. Lord. You can you can. I will definitely read your books in the future. It’s just…this one I struggled with. Let me tell you why.
I had a hard time with the story. I didn’t like the pace of the book. I just felt it progressed too quickly. The end of the book seemed a bit rushed.
This is kind of how my feelings went...
Another thing I struggled with…… There were times throughout the story where Stephanie would be talking and narrating, but then….Jacob would appear. It seemed like it was his thoughts and his narrating with in the same paragraph. There were a few occasions where I was a bit lost, and had to re-read.
I also had a hard time connecting with Stephanie. She was just….a bit flakey. I thought Stephanie was just…..utterly annoying at times. She didn’t have much of a conscience. Sure, she felt guilt at times for what she was doing, but….SHE KEPT DOING IT. With no second thought as to what the consequences would be. She knew what would happen. I’m sorry…but Stephanie just didn’t have much common sense… until about the last 15% of the book. But even then, she took Jacob for granted, She doesn’t deserve him.
Jacob. Man. Talk about a saint. But. He also had his fault and blame. I just wish he had some bigger balls to take what he wanted when it came to Stephanie, and didn't wait so long to do so. I mean...it's not like she was going to turn him down. She begged him for dirty!! Open. Invitation. Signed, sealed, and delivered.
It's a good book. I think it had so much more potential though. If you like twists and turns in your story line, then this is the book for you. It was a quick, easy read, and will keep you intrigued....keep you wanting to figure out what these characters are really up to.
When I first came across this book, I thought to myself... it's about cheating, no way! But I promised to tell the Author Anthony Bryan my thoughts as I read... and I'm so glad I took the plunge...
Call this a pre-review, if you will, as I'm still processing what I've read... The Suicide Princess has been infiltrating my mind and thoughts since I first read it a couple of weeks ago! Not a day goes by, when I don't think about some aspect of it or another. I'd not heard of the expression "Book Hangover" before, I didn't even believe such a thing existed! But the definition seems to have been written for what I have: Book Hangover "When you've finished a book and you suddenly return to the real world, but the real world feels incomplete or surreal because you're still living in the world of the book" ...
I actually believe, that the Author Anthony Bryan, has completely taken control of my emotions with his book! I never felt like I was in control while reading it... it was like a roller-coaster ride... I sat in the car, got comfortable, the anticipation and excitement of what was to come, started to build up... then the second of fear and nervous laugh as the cars jolt forward to ascend to the first peak...that feeling of pure freedom as you're pulled up & up (into the stories & characters)... The second where you are hanging over the edge of the descent, slowly tipping forward... the feeling of wanting to stop but wanting to let go of control at the same time, then your heart races as you drop down, controlled only by what direction Anthony Bryan wants you to take... the twists and turns, the rushing speed, along with the occasional moments of calm, when you are pulled yet again to the top of another peak, lulled into a false sense of security, only to have it be snatched away with the rush of another descent! ... and by the end you want more! You want to know more, you are thinking "What the hell, why? ...you are a gibbering mess, yet you find yourself rushing around to stand in line again, wanting to discover more...
Do I recommend this book & author? wholeheartedly YES! Even after the book hangover from hell, Hell YES! I thank the day that I stumbled across him & his book... he has an amazing talent & I can't wait to see where it'll take me next time! READ THIS BOOK NOW! You won't regret it!!! & Thank-you Anthony Bryan for taking me on this amazing journey!
Anthony, I feel nothing I can say will be good enough. This book is absof@#kinlutely AMAZING!!! There are so many things I want to say but first and foremost…I have friends and many family members including my father and brother who served in the military so I’d like to say thank you so much for serving our country and fighting for our freedom! As far as The Suicide Princess - As soon as I started reading it I went into full lockdown mode and finished it in one day. I was so caught up in a tornado of emotions I just could NOT put this book down. Wow! Talk about the perfect combination of being suspenseful, seriously sexy – like toe curling sexy - and one hell of a mystery. I cried, I got mad…I think there were times I caught myself holding my breath - talk about an emotional rollercoaster. Oh and the sex scenes?! Geez Louise, I needed a shot or 10 of tequila. I never ever expected the outcome of this book. Talk about jaw dropping ….Holy F***K! Didn’t see that coming!!! Even days later, it’s still haunting my brain. I can totally see this as a movie and not just a good one but a great one! I’ve already started recommending this to everyone I know and I will definitely be reading everything you write Anthony...I can't wait!
Wow I seriously wasn't expecting that rollercoster ride. I've never heard of this author before until I signed up for his blog tour. I'm ecstatic that I did. This is 300 pages of pure brilliance. I literally sat and read this in one sitting. Nothing could stop me from reading!! I read a few reviews before I started reading this and I'm so happy they didn't reveal any spoilers. On that note I'm zipping up & not saying much about this story except to say if your looking for a hot story with love, lies and deceit then this is the book for you. I'll certainly be recommending this to my friends. Received in return for an honest review.
Looking for a sweet romance? Don’t bother with this! Looking for virgin brides and alpha males? Pick up something else!! Looking for something off the beaten track with steam enough to make your toes curl up in your fluffy pink bedroom socks (you know you have them)? This is the one for you!!!
The grass is always greener on the other side! Or is it? This is a story about a woman who finds herself straying from the ennui that has taken over her marriage bed, straight into the arms of an exciting stranger who promises all that she craves...as well as some of what she doesn’t! The ensuing ripple effect leads to some life changing and devastating results.
Written in the third person, the writing is fluent and effortless, really easy to read. And there was something else... almost like an underlying even surreptitious seduction in this author’s style of storytelling which I liked a lot...it draws you in ...and well...seduces you!!
I have (only) two criticisms about the story. One is that I need to be able to relate or at least warm to the main characters. I felt Stephanie came across as possibly spoilt and even petulant. This could have been intentional but unfortunately this for me was a negative.
The sex (I know this is what you all want to hear about). It’s HOT! HOT!! HOT!!!
However personally, it’s not always about the heat and this is what dropped stars, not how hot it was (trust me I’m no prude) but because it was written typically in a males mindset. At times I felt like I was intruding on a young man’s fantasy and even predicted that there would be a f/f/m threesome somewhere within the plot...for obvious reasons!!
Overall... I enjoyed the story, liked the plot, loved the writing.
Would I recommend this? Yes, some of you ladies will love it!!!
Review The Suicide Princess by Anthony Bryan This is a story of Stephanie Bradford an District Attorney, she has a pretty good life. Her husband Jacob is a Pilot and is not home a lot. Stephanie loves her husband very much but the excitement and love life is boring her. Although she tries to spice it up, Jacob is not taking the bait. One day at lunch she meets a sexy mysterious Derrick who seems to be what she looking for. Her life goes from boring to super super crazed. Is the grass greener on the other side? This book was utterly amazing, thrilling, exciting, dirty, raw, and I was totally taken in by the first page. Can I say Love Love! I usually a fast reader and I retain information well. I totally had to cool down and take many breaks from page to page. I understood Stephanie she was a beautiful woman with needs and wants. She felt like she needed to be desired and loved and sexy. I think this book is an eye opener to many women that with choices become consequences. I love how Anthony let the story just flow and there isn't anything you can do but be involved deeply. I am deeply impressed with this author being a man and totally understanding how a woman is. I believe anyone one of us could be Stephanie. This is a must read and I give it a thousand stars. To readers who haven’t had the joy of reading this emotionally, powerful, erotic book hold on and get ready…you will probably need a bath and bottle of wine.
I had the great pleasure of getting an early copy of this book to read. The best way to describe it right off the bat is H-O-T, H-O-T, H-O-T!!!!! This book is so different from every other erotic book I have ever read. It was such a refreshing change. The author has a style of writing all his own!!
From the begining the book grabs a hold of you and doesn't let go. Some of the scenes will have you wishing you read the book in the privacy of your own home ( I speak from experience, but I was warned beforehand). I loved that the book wasn't filled with nonsense chapters, and fluff as Anthony put it. There is no endless babble that tries to get you to connect with the characters, but you just do. I don't know how to describe it, but once you read it you will understand. The twists and turns in this books keep the reader on the edge of their seat and wanting more.
The only reason I gave this book a 4.5, instead of a 5 is because of some of the content. This book won't be right for everyone. You have to have a pretty open mind to read it, but once you do you won't regret it. I promise!!! Anthony has a way of writing that makes you look past certain things and sucks you into the story!! If you like erotic books, if you like thrillers.....then The Suicide Princess is the book for you!!
WOW! Talk about "sexually charged roller coaster where nothing is as it seems and everything is at stake!" that is an understatement. So I am pretty sure my mind is blown, and nothing I say will be good enough, but here we go. The Suicide Princess gives us a little of everything. A marriage that seems perfect but isn't so shiny, a bad boy with unsavory motives, a best friend that gives conflicting advice, and a bit of a mystery. Oh, and freaking hot sex scenes that will melt your panties off! I learned pretty quickly not to try and figure anything out. Just when I thought I had something figured out or thought I knew what was going to happen, twist! Nothing is what it seems to be...NOTHING! I loved It!! I couldn't put it down!!! Talk about a book hangover the next day.. wow...mind blown!! The Suicide Princess is an amazing debut for Anthony Bryan!! I can't wait to see what he will give us in the future!!! Five HUGE stars!!!
Anthony asked me to read this story early on and I'm very thankful for the opportunity. :)
This book primarily revolves around the character, Stephanie. She's a smart, successful, married and beautiful young lady who has everything going for her. When her marriage wasn't fulfilling her needs, she irrationally decides to start seeing someone else, in secret.
Derrick is this mysterious, sexy and charming guy that satisfies Stephanie in a way her husband never has. She is easily drawn to him. She knows that Derrick is no good for her, but she can't resist him.
This story shows how one bad decision can easily lead to another, and before you know it, things spiral way out of control.
Be warned! The sexual encounters throughout the story are very INTENSE and very HOT!!!
I was one of the lucky ones chosen to read this as an ARC. And I was not disappointed!
Stephanie seems to have it all. She's got a great life, good job, and a sweet, dependable husband. But she’s not satisfied with it, and she finds herself stuck in a boring romantic rut. So after a happenstance meeting with a handsome charming stranger, she decides to shake up her life. From here on out, you’re taken for a whirlwind, erotic ride!
There were some seriously hot and steamy scenes in this book. There were unexpected twists and turns that had me more than one saying “wtf?”. It keeps you interested right up until the very end!
This story sucks you in from the beginning and Anthony did such a good job. The characters are well developed & the plot is beyond interesting. Just when I thought I knew where the story was going it took a left turn. Not sure if Derrick deserved what he got in the end, but then again he did start the ball rolling with his evilness and manipulation…I hope to see more from this Author!!
A new friend told me I needed to read this, not sure if we really had the same taste in reading I trusted her and brought this book. I am grateful I did, this book had a little mystery in it and I like it, been a long time since I've read a book with some mystery. I love the ending I felt it was what was needed.
This was absolutely terrible. The writing felt juvenile and the interactions unnatural. The "spicy" scenes felt like someone who's only ever watched porn and thinks that's how it happens in real life. Yuck. And this feels so obviously written by a man...and with a female protagonist it felt even ickier. This isn't how women are; this isn't what women like; it's a man's fantasy of a woman who makes all the wrong decisions. And for a complete d-bag of a stranger. >_>
First off I will say poor yourself a good glace of wine or whiskey....
Then Sit back relax, and be prepared for this book to make you say WTF? I tend to stray away from spoilers so here's my review on The Suicide Princess by Anthony Bryan......
The Suicide Princess by Anthony Bryan is a very good read! I loved how it wasn't your typical BDSM stoy line.... No this book seriously hits a home run with couples everywhere! The fact that it is written by a man is just holy hell hotness!!!!!!
Many of us can relate to not feeling sexy enough, not having enough sex, not being spontaneous or find ourselves being bored with our sex lives and when we try to make it different and it doesn't work you are left with feeling inadequate or unfulfilled.... Now you can either be happy where you are in your relationship and keep trying or look elsewhere...... but when you choose that road many many things can happen......
Anthony Brian takes us on a roller coaster ride.... With his main characters Stephanie, Jacob and Derrick....
Stephanie is a lawyer, Jacob is an Airline Pilot and Derrick is what we believe to be a private security guard of some sort....
Stephanie and Derrick having been together for quite sometime get into a slump of what Stephanie feels to be a boring sexual relationship and when she finds that nothing she does changes with her husband Jacob she takes a leap and finds herself in uncharted territory.....
My favorite part about this book is you are constantly surprised at every turn of the page..
You think you know what is going to happen but you don't!!!!! I could not put this book down!
It was alluring, suspenseful, sexy.... You fall in love with the characters and hate them at the same time lol. ... but holy hell I didn't think things were going the way they did!
My mind is blown!!!
I loved this book, and can not wait to see what Anthony Bryan has in store for us down the road!
How many women get bored in their marriage? MANY! So many women get bored with their husbands and Stephanie is no exception.
She truly loves Jacob. But she is bored and he shows no interest at all. She tries everything to get his attention. You name it, she does it. She tries so hard to not cheat on him. But when Derrick comes along and says all the right things and gives her all this attention. How can a girl possibly not give in?!
As things start to heat up, Stephanie finds herself lost in a world full if lust, and loss. The wheels keep turning and there is nothing she can do to stop the train wreck that is about to happen. Only nothing is as it seems. As truths start to surface, there is plenty of heartbreak, loss, lies, and guilt to go around.
Over all, I REALLY enjoyed this book. I felt for Jacob. I hate that the "nice" guy gets cheated on, but I also wanted to slap the shit out of him. I mean seriously, hello, your wife is talking dirty to you, wearing sexy clothes and all you can do is stick it in, cum, and then roll over?! No wonder she cheated.
"Yes, Jacob, we had sex. We had sex, and I'm begging you to fuck me, and not just climb on until you cum and then roll over and call it quits."
"What do you want that I'm not doing?"
"Be a man! Manhandle me, be rough with me, pull my hair, and spank me. Make me do things I don't want to do,"
Things really do heat up in this book and come full circle. I loved it. It was sexy and steamy, as well as nerve wrecking and exciting. Derrick, is sexy, and super hot in bed. Every girls wild fantasy. He's also hiding something major. I totally did not see the ending coming. It was simply a great read.
"Making decisions is easy; it's living with the consequences of our decisions that is hard."
This has to be one of my favorite quotes. And weirdly it's kind I true, good girls like to be dirty in bed. You all know its true even If you won't admit it. Lol.
"....treat a slut like a lady and treat a lady like a slut, and they'll love it. If she's a nice girl, the kind that always does the right thing, treat her like a whore and she'll love it. Don't ask me why, just is what it is."
First of all thank you to Anthony for an ARC of the book in exchange for an honest review.
I have to be honest i'm not that much into erotic thriller. I got my hand on a couple of books throught the years but it takes more than a couple of steamy scenes to hold my attention, i need a solid storyline and i'm glad to say that Anthony provided both and he did it with style!
For a first book the writing style was fluent, which is sometimes a problem with new author. As for the storyline at first it seemed like a hundred other erotica: woman gets bored with her marriage, she met an exciting stranger who's giving her everything her husband has been denying her for a long time and then of course everything start to unravel. I won't lie all of this happen in the book but (and the "but" is important) there's a lot of twist in the story and often i thought i figured out what was going on and ended totally surprised.
The only problem was that i had an hard time connecting to Stephanie, she was a little bit to willing to throw everything she had through the window for guy she barely knew. I mean all Derrick had to do was throw a couple of empty promises her way and here she was, willing to sacrifice her marriage and even her career...for god sake, seriously you're a lawyer girl, get a grip on yourself! But let's be honest, that guy had one dirty mouth and he definitely knew how to makes you submit to your darkest desires.
Think about the consequences of your actions because you may not be ready to pay the price...
Overall this was a great read, You'll get your lot of steamy and kinky scenes in this book but still have a pretty great storyline, which for me is the most important thing. It was an exciting debut novel and i'm definitely be on the lookout for future book from Anthony!
What a freaking ride Anthony Bryan takes us on with this gem! It was a highly entertaining, thrilling, sexy as fuck, twisted, ride. I devoured this book in a day! The story is a train wreck waiting to happen, you know it, you feel it & yet you just can’t look away. CRAZY! You wind up hating characters you thought you liked and liking characters you really didn’t care for. Each and every one of these characters were to blame for the crazy sequence of events that take place in this book, as it shows us what deception, lust, and neglect can bring about. Love it when an author gives me a sucker punch I am not expecting …well played, very well played! Now, there is something to be said about sex scenes written by a male author that gives it a little extra something…something. If you know what I mean ;) It’s a whole different kind of delicious! So intense and utterly ahemmm gratifying. After all the books I’ve read (and the darker the better) I’d thought I have read everything there is to read from a sex scene…. I was wrong! Well shut my mouth. “That” was certainly a new one for me. You got me, you definitely got me! Lesson to be taken away ….for the love of God gentlemen do not neglect your wives! So, Mr. Bryan now that I have gotten a “glimpse” into your mind I can’t wait to see where you take us with your next book ;)
“Leave your shoes on. Always leave your shoes on.” ― Anthony Bryan, The Suicide Princess …………….Ummm yes sir!
