I found this short incredibly useful in contextualizing Owain Glyndwr's fight for independence. However, as the author acknowledges his sources are limited to English writings only; often very anti-Welsh, which is understandable given the fact that Wales and England were at war. The book may have had a more rounded view if the author had been able to access any Welsh language resources. As a result of his lack of Welsh written/Welsh sympathetic sources the book seems less about Owain Glyndwr and more about the threat he posed. The author however, in his final chapter really rounds the book off well stating: 'He has won a place in that select band of national leaders of genius and charisma who could bring victory our of apparently hopeless situations:[...] Owain's war of independence also failed, but by fighting against great odds he saved the soul of Wales.
