Det är en obeskrivlig känsla för Mira och Sylvester när de träffar sin 111 år gamla farmor Ezra och barnen känner sig överlyckliga. Men trots att Mira och Sylvester har de typiska släktdragen är Ezra inte helt övertygad om att barnen är Astrakaner. När de börjar ställa frågor om sina föräldrar, bestämmer hon sig för att de först måste lägga Astrakanpusslet för att bevisa vilka de är. Pusslet är en utmaning bortom verklighetens gränser och för varje pusselbit kommer barnen ett steg närmare svaret på gåtan kring sina föräldrars förbjudna kärlek. I karavanen gör Duval sitt framträdande som ledare för de Äldsta. Tempelman och Vargas bevakar karavanen och Rufsus blir förgiftad under mystiska omständigheter. Allt medan sibyllans och Lopus schackparti närmar sig slutet och kampen mellan ont och gott (och dröm och verklighet) börjar på allvar.

I picked up this book in a discounted bin at a local supermarket without realising that it is a third in a series. For this reason I put the reading of it off until I maybe have at least the first two parts, but I keep forgetting about looking them up so I just decided to delve deep and without preparation.

The story does not stand on its own as it is, it feels throughout the whole work as a middle of a larger story - we see fallout of a previous book and a buildup to more stuff happening in future works, so if someone is bothered by not understanding fully what's going on, reading it on its own wouldn't be a good idea.

I didn't mind all that much though and found myself enjoying the story. It's written in a simple, child-friendly language and there's a ton of different words for fantastical stuff included that made me giggle. The book didn't have a lot of place to describe its characters though, which I felt was a shame. I feel like the people I knew best by the end of it was one of the evil agents and the uncle of the main character. Most of the space was left for action of which there was a lot, most of it building up to a larger story.

Here's a warning though: the dog does get poisoned and his fate isn't resolved until the next book (I presume). I'd like to think he'll be alright though.

mało się w typ tomie działo pewnie dla tego że cały czas skakał punkt widzenia i jedna czynność była widziana przez kilka osób i chociaż poprzednie tomy tak 5/5 tak ten 4.5/5 uważam że nie zasługują na taki hejt (moja opinia)
