Move over Mr Darcy, there’s a new bachelor in town.

‘In the 21st century it is a truth universally acknowledged that the last thing a single man in possession of a good fortune wants, is a wife who will inevitably bleed him dry when she divorces him for serial adultery’

Meet advertising mogul Alexander Slade: he’s is successful, handsome, sexy, smart… and doesn’t do monogamy.

Why settle for one woman when you can have a harem?

Alexander’s playboy lifestyle is sailing close to perfection and he couldn’t be happier… that is until his wealthy father issues him a nightmare ultimatum. Concerned that his son’s outrageous antics are ruining the company’s reputation, he tells Alexander he must find a fiancée by his thirtieth birthday or forfeit his inheritance.

Enter Ella Bryant; a beautiful journalist who’s looking to get the scoop on our handsome hero. With less than two months to go until the dreaded milestone, is she the one who will save the day?

Filthy Gorgeous is a witty romantic comedy told through the eyes of a self-proclaimed, modern day Mr. Darcy. Regardless of whether or not Alexander makes it up the aisle, one thing is certain – you will be left reaching for the tissues.

*Warning: Due to bad language and some sexy scenes this is not suitable for under-18's*

My reaction when I read the blurb:
Move over Mr Darcy, there’s a new bachelor in town.

‘In the 21st century it is a truth universally acknowledged that the last thing a single man in possession of a good fortune wants, is a wife who will inevitably bleed him dry when she divorces him for serial adultery'

OMG that blurb! This sound amazing!

My reaction to the book:
Where is the new Mr Darcy? What, this guy?!

That's what happens when your expectations are way too high. Oh well.. 2 stars cause when the characters were a tiny bit tolerable and didn't remind me of 5 year olds the plot was ok.

I liked it immensely!

Although Alex- GOD is an ultimate man whore and a narcissistic ass, I loved him! He is funny as hell, and I laughed my ass of while reading.
His perspective on life, dating and male-female relationships are bloody fabulous. I actually learned a lot:)))

The romance is secondary in this book, and I actually can't remember her name... but I didn't mind at all :)))

Thank you Jodi, this was awesome;)))

DNF!!

OMG! To think I wasted how long for this book? What a waste of time.

The big problem was Alex. Seriously? Him?

Let me just start by saying that I had to force myself to not call him Drew (from the Tangled series) well he was a cheap imitation of him. He reminded me of a seventeen year old boy who thought he knew everything about women but actually knew nothing. The fact that a woman wrote this book is shocking. Dre- Sorry-Alex- is supposed to be TWENTY-NINE YEARS OLD! Almost thirty, and he acts like that??? I'm sorry. No. It was so unattractive it's not funny. It would be OK if he was actually twenty one or something but like I said, he's nearly thirty and that's how he behaves? I haven't read Jane Austen (I know..blah blah blah) but if Alex is "Modern day Mr.Darcy" I feel sorry for myself if that's who I have to look forward to. He was nothing but a spoilt rich kid.

Umm what's her name... I can't remember (she was that forgettable) was just soo..um I don't know. She didn't really make an impact on me. She was just stupid for believing the jock she was with. (That whole situation was so stupid from the beginning, I have yet to see the point of it) But I also don't see why she was so quick to jump into bed (or the kitchen counter) with Alex.

Besides the characters, I thought the book rambled too much. From the very first chapter I had a hard time trying to work out what was going on. It started off in the present then went back (which I hate..again, Tangled series) but it didn't say that, and it left me confused for a while. Also it was told from Alex's POV, which is like listening to a pre teen boy ramble on about sex. And he did that a lot..ramble. It got pretty annoying.

Also, there were a few mistakes, like missing letters of a word or and extra word in a sentence. Normally I would look this over, but this book took ages to finally come out so you have to wonder what was happening all that time.

Well to sum up, I thought this book was just a massive let down. Is is just me, or do rich arrogant men who sleep around so much not attractive anymore? Because I'm tired of reading the same thing over and over again.

The lead male character's mind reminds me of what it would be like if Austin Powers was on Viagra & you had access to his horny thoughts. On a sexual comedy scale this book scores a laughable five if that was the authors intent.

There is no dark alpha male in these pages just a horny 17 year old trapped in a 29 year old's body.On a heat scale nothing scorches because I was laughing too hard.If you find constant humor a turn on than this book is going to melt your underwear.

Judging by the book's title & warning blurb I expected adult filth not adult mirth.A more appropriate blurb would have been 'beware of contents. You could die laughing'..but instead I got this:

Devilishly handsome SWM, 29, 6’1”, 180lbs, with dark brown hair and green eyes seeks a gorgeous woman for amazing sex and possible marriage.

No crazies need apply.

FILTHY seeks GORGEOUS for mutually destructive long term relationship – possible marriage.

Ladies, this is your lucky day.

I’m emotionally unavailable, afraid of commitment, and fantastic in bed.

Interested? Then read on …

Me: Tall. Dark. Handsome. Rich (almost).

Need I go on?

Alright then: Harvard-educated. Hedonistic workaholic. Master of the oral arts.

Skilled pastry chef. Great dancer. Currently impotent—you’re the solution.

Interests: Rumpology. Cruising in the Aston. Cunnilingus. Ornithology. Russian vodka. Golf. Playing with my cock.

Unique Selling Point: I have two cocks.

You: 26-35 year old. Gorgeous. Long legs. Good actress. Animal lover.

Enjoys nocturnal activities. Dynamite in bed. Experience with handling a cock cage.

NOT CRAZY.

Although to be fair to the author this is billed as a romantic comedy.
On that note you would be crazy not to read this book or reply to that advert.

!! SPOILER ALERT !!

Sorry, but …...

This Book was a real disappointment!

You know I thought, that Alexander Slade is gonna be a real man, an alpha like my other book-boyfriends, but that thought was really fast forgotten!

I had to remind myself that he is indeed just a few weeks shy of 30 years old in the beginning of the book. I think a age range from 15 to 20 is more appropriate.

Throughout the whole book he is obsessed with his beauty and of course no woman can resist him!
This guy could stand in front of a mirror for 24 hours and not be bored.
He is just a spoiled brat with mommy and daddys money!

As for Ella Bryant; well where should I start; she is in a 7-year-long-relationship with a real jerk!
On her first “date“ or more appropriately interview with Alex, while she is on a “break“ with her boyfriend she lets him finger her in the cap and go down on her on his kitchen counter, although she knows he is a manwhore. Another time they meet she goes down on him in a carriage in public. So a little on the sluttish side.

Based on this book, I wonder how the author would describe love and faithfulness.

If you are after a love story, then I wouldn't recommend this book. There is no love on either side.
I wouldn't describe Ella as the love of his life, but as his best fuckbuddy that he really likes and wants to be exclusive with in the end of the book.

A few things he said were funny, but as a lover he isn't for me. Maybe a gay friend.

I will stick with my other book-boyfriends, like ..

This book is very similar to Tangled... Maybe a little too similar... It felt like some kind of fan-fiction.
When you have a book inspired by another one you can't help but compare the two of them, and honestly, almost never the inspired one can live up to it's muse.
This is the case here, at least for me. All kept thinking was how much funnier Tangled was, and how much more likable Drew was... Alex was too dirty, too much of a jerk... I was more disgusted by him than charmed.
I wonder if I would've liked this book more if I haven't read Tangled... I honestly don't know...

Filthy Gorgeous was a book so expected because the Austen women in me wanted to meet this modern M. Darcy.

How can I say about it? Sexy, hilarious, romantic, and especially uncensored!!!
Meet our handsome, man with a harem of 7 girls (his friday girls), enjoying his life as man whore, had a cocktail names after him (the famous Pink Sladies) took what he wanted where he wanted, powerful, successful, talented professionally and sexually, with a over self confidence! Alexander Solomon Slade was having fun, he was blackmailed by his father!

What a family! The deal: find a fiancée before by his thirtieth birthday or forfeit his inheritance!

That’s how his « Vodka » creation Team came into place, and damn his teammates was totally hilarious, making Alex as a product they had to sell and the announcement in they made, priceless:

Then came one woman, Ella Bryant: smart, radiant, beautiful, transcendent, his perfect match. With an ad like this, Ella had to interview him, for a paper about the hot bachelors in New York! Not impressed by Alex’s flirty mood, she could stand against him, and when she did, she was good. But guess what? She taken and the game was more interesting, even if her boyfriend was kind of an asshole, and Alex saw that. For a brilliant woman, she couldn’t see what happened in front of her, perfect denial!

Let’s the chase begin! Alex was doing everything he could to have her in his bed and he was up to his best game! But when his plan wasn’t working, he became his friend, something he never did before. Feelings getting mixed up, and the lines between friendship and love are blurred and both Ella and Alex were confused by the turn of their relationship. Every room was getting hot just by Ella and Alex interactions!

Between crazy friends, colleagues and hilarious situations, Alex was fucked up a lot! When this guy was happy, he always found a way to put him in some situations that he wasn’t proud of! He wanted to protect her and begin to feel more that a sexual attraction. He was ponderous and clumsy with his actions leading him to a lot of slaps in his handsome face! I love his hopeless, pragmatism reaction when he was dumped! I think I enjoyed these part a lot and seeing Alex’s fall was priceless! What goes around comes around!

Yes, he was far from perfect! But all those situations made me laugh so hard that sometimes it made me cry! Everything was so funny, well written with no filters! All the characters were endearing and i get attached to them. All of this book was a high speed train of hilarious, sexy, romantic journey through Alex’s POV and it was marvelous. It was a great first book and I can’t wait to read the next ones! If you want to have a good time, this book is yours, or Alex, that’s your choice after all! Deliciously erotic and wicked funny!! ;-)

5 Stars!!! (I so rarely give these out)

I have to tell you as soon as I started reading this....I had this feeling that I was not going to like it. I put it down and then thought...okay, maybe just a few more pages....as I read, I realized I was becoming hooked. I think what it was that I did not like Alex at first...he is a dog...I mean, even though he is wealthy and handsome...he is no gentleman....Ella did not like him at first either. But then he grows on you and you can't help but fall in love with him - just like Ella does.

It is narrated as if the lead character, Alexander is speaking to you directly. And the author used these narrations which take you out of his head/POV to infuse alot of humor. The characters grow on you but Alex makes the book. I felt like Alex and I sat on the sofa watching this story unfold on a movie screen with him telling me all about it as we watched.

Plot: Alex - playboy, sex-o-holic, harem owner, rich, devastatingly handsome & charming, with "dimples" is told by his father that if he does not settle down with the antics and find a permanent woman he will be written out of the will and be cut off. He is devastated...after all he has a woman for each day of the week. In walks Ella, who wants to interview him for her magazine as one of the best bachelors in Manhattan. She knocks his socks off and vice versa. She is determined to not be seduced by him. And well...she is.

What did I think? The story is well written, great characters, even Alex's Bird or Cockatoo is funny as hell. Lots of great humor and yet believable. And like so many billionaire books out there this was not a head-over-heals love affair. It is very natural and gradual. You get a HEA without rolling your eyes at the ridiculousness of it. I have seen the reviews...some love it and some hate it. I see the criticisms and I get it....I do. But when I finished the last line and turned off my nook...."Five Stars" flashed in my mind and I had a big smile on my face. I loved it!

When I started reading this I got a bit confused. Really what I got was a crap load of déjà vu. That's cause I'd already read this book. Only the last time I read it the MC's name was Drew and the story was far, far better. This is a blatant rip-off from Tangled. Other than the MC's name there is really no difference. So sad. It even starts exactly the same with our manwhore, main character in a miserable drunk state after losing the woman he loves. Then he reflects back on what went wrong. He falls in love with a woman who has a douche bag boyfriend, who works at his advertising firm, owned by his father. Then loses her. BLATANT RIP-OFF! Didn't even bother reading anymore.

Drop this, run the other way, but first get a copy of Tangled and read that instead.

"I'm the Global Operations Director of Slade Group; my father's boutique advertising agency based in New York City. Most call me Alex. Some call me God. The latter is both an acronym of my job title and a reference to my expertise in the bedroom."

Filthy Gorgeous has been in the writing process for a fairly long time, but I waited patiently and stayed until the very end. I can happily say it was a decent read but, for me, not really re-readable. I found it often lacked detail in some areas of the novel, especially when it came to emotions and surroundings. I want to picture the scene in my mind, but that wasn't happening. I expected an entirely different ending; the one we received was... average.

And the romance was somewhat secondary in the plot. So, if you're reading Filthy Gorgeous for a lovely, romantic relationship to blossom between the main characters, it's actually fast-paced, not very descriptive (in my opinion, anyway) and not necessarily the main focus of the plot. You might want to read something different if you really love romance novels.

"But what about the good points of the story?!" Don't get me wrong, there are some highlights in Filthy Gorgeous. Jodi Knight incorporated a great sense of humour into her characters, especially Alexander Slade. I enjoyed some of his thought processes. Even Ella, the heroine of the story, has a pretty fantastic sense of humour that both matches and counters Alexander Slade's. Even the secondary characters made me chuckle in some areas.

Alexander Slade has two months to find a bride-to-be or, at least, the "one" before his thirtieth birthday. If he doesn't settle down, he will disinherited by his parents who are getting tired of the constant stream of women waltzing into their only child's life. But, guess what? . It's a comical adventure from meeting Ella half naked, to drinking cocktails named after him.

She trades a graceful finger over my initials and a warm smile spreads across her face. "Alexander Solomon Slade. I guess if we're going with acronyms I could also call you 'Ass'?"

But, unfortunately, Alexander obsesses far too much with his appearance and he's a little over conceited. Don't get me wrong, confidence is sexy, but in moderation. And Alexander doesn't do anything in moderation. It's very difficult for me to tolerate the heroine's presence because they either complain too much, cry too much or have no freakin' idea what they want. Unfortunately Ella was the type of heroine who had no damn idea. One minute she would be cold, the next she would be happily getting down and dirty in the backseat of a cab (with a cabby who didn't say anything?!). So, it was very difficult for me to connect or relate with her - with any of the characters, honestly.

In short: sorry, but Filthy Gorgeous could have been better.

I will start by writing this...and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one, I waited a long time to read this book. I don't know if it was the title, the cover, or the quotes that were published, which by the way are quite funny, and as I was reading there was something on the back of my mind, not bothering me , something, present on my mind, and then it all made sense... I was transported to Tangled by Emma Chase (whose writting I love) and I found some similarities.
- At the begining, the super macho guy tottaly depressed over a girl, something he never thought would ever happended to him.
- The humor, the "fights" or sexy combacks between the characters, the longtime friendships, the eternal walking std boyfriend, the parents, ella's friend reminded me of Lexi, Drew's sister, ohhh I have to say this the gumm blowjob was hilarious, I couldn't stop laughing, my stomach hurt soooo bad I was literaly crying at some point, but going back to the review it wasn't a bad book, as I wrote before I never stopped laughing, but I have to say it was kind of predictable after I remember the similarities with the other story.
Besides that I am very excited to read more or any work Jodi Knight has for us.

Sincerely, yours truly, a most expectant reader and now happy fan. (less)

Five Solid Star.... It is one of those books you read on a rainy saturday afternoon curled up with your favorite blanket and a hot cup of cocoa....
I mean it's got everything : comedy, romance, the I wanna-slap-your-face twice and then kiss you type of guy and a good dose of healthy rump around sex.
I have to confess there were parts where I almost pee myself laughing so hard.I bet my cookies this book eventually turns into some Lifetime Channel TV movie.......

Are we in 1st grade?

Where is the editor? Spell check? How about a friend of the author? Why this was released with OUT any proofing baffles me. The punctuation is wrong. Sentence structure is non existent. I couldn't even make it through 50 pages. Whatever potential this story may have had it was lost in the elementary mistakes.
I wouldn't recommend this until ALL of the mistakes have been corrected.

Loved it! Alex was hilarious - or should I say his dick was! I felt I had a relationship with his dick by the end of the book and was sad to say goodbye. I actually loved that he hadn't grown up even after settling for a harem of one, he remain his cocky, arrogant self - and Ella clearly liked that aspect of him.

Fun read - thank you.
