Book #3 starts right where we left Gustav and Serena in Book #2 -

we've just had semi-public sex in their new New York Gallery and someone left a 'gift' for them.

The gift, as it turns out is a Peacock feather.

Serene immediately knows that it has to come from Pierre. Because, remember? Their encounter in Venice in book #2? Where they almost had sex, because Serena thought he was Gustav? They were wearing peacock feathers in their costumes!

Now she knows she has to tell Gustav about Venice.
And poor Gustav - he still wants to believe in his brother. He's still hoping his brother has forgiven him and is now happily working in LA - he doesn't believe that he was in Venice with Serena.

Only one way to find out: go to Gustav's old apartment in NY to confront him ...
But it's not Pierre they find - it's (mega gasp!!! o.O) MARGOT!
We finally, officially, meet the 'Evil-Witch-Bitch'-Ex-wife of Gustavs.

Nooo, we didn't leave the genre to go all Paranormal - but Margot just leaves the impression of a - EVIL WITCH ☺

☺☺☺

Margot wants Gustav back. She tries everything to seduce him - with Serena in the room!!!!! o.O
And she tries to make Serena look bad; talking about Venice and Pierre and how she, Margot, is the only woman for Gustav. She will do whatever it takes to get him back.

Her black eyes are fixed on me. The coolness is gone. In its place is poison.
....this isn't the end of the story. Not by a long chalk. Margo is out to finish us.

Fortunately for us - uhm, for Serena I mean, Gustav doesn't want anything to do with this ugly person. She's pure poison! She seems almost insane - as if she just escaped from a mental hospital!

While Gustav and Serena are trying to find the right date for their weddig, Serena is very busy working.
One of her jobs brings them to Paris.

She's supposed to take pictures of an erotic Book- adaptation that's being filmed in a mansion outside of Paris.
Very sexy & depraved things are happening there. Just the way Serena loves it!

After Paris Serena travels to Marrakesh, that's where her cousin Polly is staying in convent-like retreat to 'find herself' again, after everything that happened with Pierre. Polly is supposed to create Serena's wedding dress and that's why Serena is needed in Moroocco.

And during the whole book, whether Gustav & Serena are at home in New York, London or traveling to Paris & Marrakesh.... Pierre and Margot are never far away!

Pierre though...he's not the bad guy anymore....he's changed... or has he???? ☺

Will Gustav & Serena make it? Will they FINALLY get their HEA?
Or will everybody die at the end?
What about Pierre & Margot???

I'm not telling you of course ☺☺☺

I don't want to spoil too much ☺

I REALLY ENJOYED THE BOOK!!!

FINALLY IT'S HERE!!! Book #3 about my Darling Gustav and his Serena!!!
Now I can finally find out how or if the two of them will get their Happy End!!!

I really loved the book!!!

From the very beginning the book kept me enthralled!!!
I couldn't put it down.
Once Margot came into the picture it became this amazing thriller-like Novel.
I soooo needed to know what will happen.
Margot tries everything to hurt Gustav and Serena's relationship. But she just doesn't understand how much they love each other. She has no idea what love is!
But still - her evilness could prove too much for our 2 darlings!!!
(But I'm not telling you more about that!)
I can only tell you that I really loved the book!

And I really loved everything about it...
the way Primula takes us first to New York and then to Paris and even Marrakesh...
just like in book #2 with Venice. You feel like you're right there with them. Seeing and smelling and feeling those places.
Should anyone ever offer a cruise vacation that stops at all the locations of the Unbreakable Trilogy - I'M SOOOO ON IT!

Of course there were moments where I really wanted to do this.....

to some people - I can't tell you the who's and when's without spoiling - but you'll know it when you get to it ☺

Were there parts I didn't like you ask?? Not really - I'm still not a fan of the girl-on-girl action - but it's just so Serena - it didn't bother me at all. As long as Gustav is ok with it - I can live with it too ;)
(maybe we could persuade Primula to write an alternate Scene with some man-on-man-on-Serena scenes with Gustav!!! ☺ )

But just like the first two books in the series - this finale was just as amazing.

The Unbreakable Trilogy is such an extremely wonderful Romance-Adventure.
A Love Story full of deeply erotic and moving and sad and shocking and suspensy moments!

I loved everything about it - you might too - just give it a try.
But don't expect a cute & fast-reading New Adult Romance.
This series - those 3 books - are REAL books! With LOTS of words in it ☺
But really amazing words!!

GO GET IT!!!!!!

~~~~~~~
REVIEW: THE DIAMOND RING is the third and final instalment in Primula Bond’s adult, contemporary The Unbreakable erotic romance trilogy focusing on the reclusive billionaire Gustav Levi and photographer Serena Folkes-a woman several years younger and the love of his life.
Primula Bond pulls the reader into an erotic journey of one woman’s sexual awareness and blossoming love. Gustav Levi is an enigma-a man destroyed by his ex-wife’s infidelity and her destruction of the brother he once loved. Meeting Serena, Gustav has been given a second chance at love but Serena will be sucked into the abyss that was his former life. Serena has been targeted by Gustav’s sadistic ex wife, and that ex will use everyone that has touched Serena’s life to get what she wants.
The relationship between Gustav and Serena continues to be erotic, explorative, imaginative and provocative. Very little is off limits with our couple as Serena begins to explore the lifestyle that once captured Gustav’s heart.
Told from first person POV (Serena) THE DIAMOND RING is a dark and sexually exotic tale where the fantasy lifestyle of sexual deviance is a dangerous and dramatic world of betrayal and revenge. As Gustav’s ex wife begins to drive a wedge between our leading couple, everyone that Gustav has loved and lost will suffer for the sins of his past. THE DIAMOND RING is not an easy storyline to accept-there are moments of anger, rage and deception; where hatred comes in the guise of friendship; where brotherly love is tested by the past; and where love everlasting is but a moment in time.
The secondary characters are colorful, demonic, abusive and drive a good majority of the storyline. I hope Primula writes a spin off series that will focus on Gustav’s broken brother Pierre and perhaps there is a future for Serena’s cousin Polly.
Primula Bond takes an intimate tale of sex and lust, adding a passionate and heartbreaking leading man, where by one woman will discover the truth about love and losing her heart. THE DIAMOND RING is a sexually graphic storyline with some scenes of BDSM, f/f same sex scenarios and a look at a love so deep that the pain of separation is equaled by the perception of betrayal and loss.
I received the book from the author for an honest.
This is the third book in the Unbreakable Trilogy, and a great edition if I may add. It really ties all the loose ends together as more twists are revealed within the plot. Just going on from where it stopped in book 2, you was immediately drawn into the life of Serena and Gustav.
The character, Margot played a bigger role within this book, as Gustav tried to rid himself from his past and build a new future with Serena, and Serena tried to make peace with it. When she came face to face with Margot you knew more than knickers would fly as the animosity became visible throughout the story until a great ending.
The relationship between Pierre and Serena was like a yo-yo. Up and down it moved from day to day, so that you never knew what was behind all the lies and stories. If it was true or just another lie.
With new characters that was added into the mix of limbs and heavy breathing you were in for a few pages of heated passion and exploration of the human body, allowing the characters to grew and become more confident.
Serena's character had grown the most throughout the complete trilogy. Once scared and confused, she became a voice in her own field. Self confident in her approach and new who she was when she faced Margot. Her maturity grew in leaps and bounds and I enjoyed her character, although her doubts at times had me at the point of shaking her to get a grip and move on. Making to much of certain things.
Of all the men featured in the book, Gustav is still my favorite. His willingness to work through the things in his past, his handling of each situation and his love for Serena undoubtedly makes him a wonderful caring man in my book.
Other all a great trilogy that will capture the imagination and heat the sheets while you are lost in the mystery and the unexpected of the story.
As The Diamond Ring (The Unbreakable Trilogy #3) by Primula Bond opens up we find Gustav and Serena engaged to be married, it should be a time of excitement and happiness for them, but ghosts from their past are casting shadows over them. Margot, Gustav’s ex-wife and Pierre, Gustav’s brother both seems to have different plans for the couple.
Margot wants Gustav back, and will stop at nothing to get him, she creates all kinds of convoluted events, in various countries, manipulates friends, tells lies, all in the name of trying to keep Serena and Gustav separated. In fact all of the Margot schemes seem a bit far-fetched. Pierre wants Serena, even if it’s just to have the same happiness that his brother has, but over time decides that he won’t stand in their way..
There’s just so much drama in this book, it’s like reading a daytime soap opera script. The writing is good, very descriptive in places. I was happy that the level of sexual content was a bit less in this book, allowing for the very thin plot, surrounded by drama to take the forefront. The sex scenes are frequent, and at times do seem to be page fillers, or sexual vignettes dangled to keep the reader happy.. The majority of the characters are known to the reader from the two previous books, but there were a few new ones added. The ending provided a satisfying conclusion to .Margot’s storyline , but I was disappointed with what I’d call a very traditional HEA between Gustav and Serena
I put off this review for a long time trying to think of something very creative to say & I finally kind of got it, but it's just out of reach for words...
First, with a name like Primula Bond, I first thought this series would be cheesy as hell... Actually it's the opposite. This book is a very serious dark erotica novel that is the last of the series. I second guessed everyone & everyone had a motive for everything.
My suggestion is to DEFINITELY start at the first book & then graduate to this one.
Lately every book like this is compared to the Shades of Grey series, but this one stands alone on merit! It's darker & more...gutty??? Is that even a word?... with way MORE guts & obstacles than the Shades of Grey books. This is one you "grow up" to read... instead of following the Gray Groupies...
She is an awesome writer. She can stand on her own & I hope she comes out with more books & more evil bitches to rock worlds...
If you thought 50 Shades was hot and suspenseful, it is only because you haven't read this series. I literally couldn't put it down. It is a total sexual awakening for the lead female and rescue of the male. The series has so many dips and turns as to who's behind what and where loyalties lie.
Overview
Passion. Love. Betrayal. And a very dramatic climax… The Unbreakable Trilogy reaches its unforgettable conclusion. A must-read for fans of erotic romance.From Primula Bond, author of Sunday Times bestselling The Silver Chain and The Golden Locket.“You don’t know how beautiful you are, Serena. That’s the danger.”Engaged to be married, life should be blissful for Gustav and Serena. It should be a time of happiness; a time to plan their wedding and their future together.But the ghosts of Gustav’s past have returned to haunt him, and one in particular casts a dangerous shadow over their relationship. Starting with Serena…From the glamour of Paris to the exotic wilds of Morocco, The Diamond Ring will take you on a sensual, sexy journey like no other – with a finale you won’t forget.
My Thoughts
I suppose I can say that it's an appropriate ending to the series - you get exactly what you were expecting. I think that my challenge is there was a lot of the same.....but let me explain.
So in this final installment to the series, we once again reunite with Gustav and Serena when they are in a happy place - G has proposed and they are getting ready to plan the next chapter in their lives. Serena's gallery is open and they are finally finding a good place to be in. The challenge of course is that G and Pierre's relationship is still a bit rocky and Polly has once again run off - this time to Morocco in the hopes of straightening herself out. Of course what we know though is that when there's happiness, the other shoe will drop and their world will be turned upside down again, and of course it's by Margot.
In this book, what we get is the incredibly evil side of Margot, and we get drawn into her plot that's been devised to use people around G and Serena to break them up since Margot is delusional to believe that she's got a future with Gustav. Pierre was a pawn in it all, and while he came to his senses, the damage was done and the question in this final installment is will he and his brother ever fix their relationship and what will it take to get there..
The other piece of this story is the paranoia that Serena feels every day. she's forced to question everything that she believes to be true about G and there's so much that leads her down the dark path. He's secretive about his business dealings, always leaving town for a deal or negotiation or staying out late - and when Margot plants the seed that he's been with her, and show's Serena films of it happening just the week prior, Serena has nothing to do but to believe that she's been lied to .
Aside from the roller coaster plot though, we continue to get a lot of the same in the sense that we see Serena evolve even further into her voyeurism, and partaking of the pleasure when she's on a job. She reunites with the dancers from Club Creme and participate in their naughty activities and the story with them continues. There's a lot of exploration and intrigue as well since we know that Gustav allows her to play with others, and we see Serena continue to come out of her shell. The downside to all this though is like i said before, a lot of the same. I think that i've come to expect certain things to happen in each scene, and when they play out exactly as my mind expects, it's a bit of a let down.
Regardless, there's kidnapping, anxeity, lies, deceit, and well, a lot of romance and passion which makes for an exciting conclusion to a series. I think that the path that this story takes is a nice one and you hope that certain relationships will fix themselves so everyone can be happy and you hope that some never existed to begin with. It's what some of the secondary characters bring that makes the story even more robust and that's something that Ms. Bond has done nicely in this series. I can't wait to see what's next for her since our journey with Serena and Gustav has come to it's end. I hope you enjoyed it!
4.5 sexy, sensual stars
ARC received via Netgalley for an honest review
Boy, where do we start with the Diamond Ring? It's been a while since The Golden Locket and our "darlings" Gustav and Serena, but I was drawn straight back into their sexy, voyuerist world.
Even though newly engaged, Gustav's past and his evil ex Margot (hissssss) are still haunting the couple.
OMG Margot. I really, really do despise her! There is not one redeeming quality about her AT ALL!! I swear I was sure she would pop up like like the wicked witch and call out "I'll get you my pretty.... and your little do too!" at some stage, and even feared for Gustav and Serena's dog - even though they didn't have one!!!
We also get a lot more of Pierre, Gustav's brother. Is he changed? Is he still out to destroy Gustav and Serena? He is a bit of an enigma. Every time you think "oh yeah, he's changed, he's a good guy now" something happens to make you still question him and his motives.
There was more than one occasion last night as I lazed on the lounge finishing this book that my body completely tensed up as I read. I wanted to throw my kindle across the room, I wanted to scream at the characters, I could have quite willingly hit one or two of them. In the face. With a brick! It has been a while since a book or characters have brought out such a reaction in me.
I loved how Ms Bond could make me feel like I was right in the scenes and cities she visited. I could practically feel the hustle and bustle of New York, hear the noise and smell the spices of the souk in Marrakech, see the lights of Paris. She also makes you feel you are right in the room with her while she is filming and photographing the sensual, sexy scenes and the chateau.
And though I am not a fan of the girl-on-girl action, it is so much part of Serena's being that the story would not have been hers with out it. I agree with Bianca's view above, that we need some man-on-man action with Gustav!!
So, do Serena and Gustav get their happy ever after, or will Margot succeed in finally tearing them apart? What's the deal with Pierre? Will Serena's friend Polly find the happiness she seeks?
Throughout the series, Ms Bond has taken us on a sensual journey from Serena's sexual awakening to where we are now (no, I am not going to tell you where they are at!), and I am going to miss Gustav and Serena
**I was given a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review**
Wow! The end of Serena and Gustav's journey. Their story has been a long and extremely interesting one. From a wild and curious Serena leaving her small home town in a quiet picturesque place, making the move to London to follow her dreams of making it big as a photographer. All the way to now, successful, beautiful, coveted and desired by many, both Men and Women. She is engaged to be married to Gustav yet still they battle their demons, namely those who want them for themselves and will do anything in their power to split them up.
I think it's safe to say, Serena has been on a journey of self discovery. She has learnt a great deal about herself and what she wants, plus what interests & intrigues her. A lot of this journey and reflection has been one of a sexual nature, experimentation to catch up on the years she has been hidden away. She has made this journey with Gustav by her side, and through Gustav she has met a great deal of colourful characters. The two people who up till now have caused more problems for them than ever, is Margot and Pierre. Gustav's ex wife and recently reunited with, brother.
What I loved about this book, was just how full on the action was, throughout the story. It never lacks for twists and turns. There is always some little secret to come out, or devious person plotting and surprising. It makes for such an addictive read, where you can't stop or you may miss something.
Another thing I loved was the absolutely stunning scenery and places that the characters get to visit. PB paints the most luxurious and dreamlike pictures of places, it felt like a travel book at one point, I wanted to hop in and visit too. The beautiful destinations that Selena gets to explore are perfect, and make for such a tranquil backdrop to all the constant action that floods through.
Like the first two books in this series, there is usually the trademark showdown. Each book has had one and I find myself looking forward to it, wondering whether everyone will manage to get through unscathed each time.
The big showdown scene in this book, was no exception to that. It surprised me and had me on the edge of my seat. Perfect suspense and well thought out connections. It paved the way to a perfect ending. Considering it was the final ending for this series, it was truly done perfectly. The conclusion to Serena and Gustav's journey was a feel good ending, and I felt happy knowing how the characters ended up. Excellent, sensual journey through the series. 4.5 Stars.
It was with some reluctance that I started the third and final book in the Unbreakable Trilogy. I first met Serena and Gustav in The Silver Chain and then again in The Golden Locket. Their binding love for each other shone through in both books despite it being sorely tested at times.
Primula Bond has a knack of drawing the reader in and even though some time had passed since reading The Golden Locket, I was soon up and running with the ensuing storyline as links to the past were given to remind us what had previously happened.
A while ago I asked a question on my blog ~ Do you ever feel that an Author or Publisher is milking it? The question referred to the increasing number of trilogies and series of stories. This is one trilogy that definitely doesn't fit that question. This has been a very well written trilogy and there has been plenty of story to keep the reader interested without feeling that it has been dragged out.
Serena and Gustav have been a great couple to read about and I've really enjoyed reading about them and their escapades both in and out of the bedroom with each other and others. With a great cast of secondary characters, both family members and acquaintances there has been plenty to keep us entertained. In this final part we are shown the depths to which Margot will go to try to get Gustav back, despite his lack of interest in her. She is definitely a villain to watch who will stop at nothing to win but to see if she does win you need to get your own copy, as I don't want to spoil the story for others by telling you.
This is definitely an erotic trilogy and at times quite graphic, not to be read by the faint hearted. But, I suppose you could always skip those bits but it would be a shame as they do rather draw the reader in and at times are a fundamental part of the story and it shows the nature of the characters personalities.
I will miss them and for anyone who hasn't met them yet, please put this right sooner rather than later as I'm sure that they'll find a place in your thoughts as they did in mine.
I was sent a copy of this by Olivia Wilson before I went on holiday and completely forgot about that copy, so I was rather greedy and got another copy from NetGalley as I didn't want to miss out. Both copies were given in exchange for an honest review.
Can I just say thank you to Primula Bond for sharing this trilogy with us and I look forward to reading more of your work in due course.
I received a copy from the publisher and purchased a paperback copy.
I had pre ordered a copy as soon as could after finishing the last book. Then had a little happy dance when I had an email from the publisher asking if I would like to review. After the ending of the last one? A big hell yes!
While I remember getting a little bored with the second book, the third book was a perfect conclusion. The novel picks up pretty much immediately after where the last one left off. The threat of the appalling ex-wife Margot is no longer a just an unpleasant force. She's an actual threat.
Gustav and Serena are as strong as ever and pretty much try their hardest to say to hell with Margot. There's the added complication of Pierre and his actions at the end of the second book.
The plot is a little more than just sex in this one. A lot more on the drama side really. There's some deliciously fun sex scenes that were extremely hot and enjoyable.
There's a bit more drama while Serena tries to deal with Pierre. Pierre seems to be saying one thing one minute then behaving differently the next. Its hard to know whether to trust him or not. Just when you think everything's going smoothly, Serena goes off to see her cousin Polly who's staying at some sort of retreat in Marrakesh and the plot takes a dramatic, quite frightening twist.
There were some times during the last part of the book that made you think hang on this isn't going the way it was supposed to end! It did conclude well. All the loose ends were tied up. A perfect ending to a really good trilogy.
The Diamond Ring
Primula Bond
This story was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review.
To catch everyone up to speed this is the third and final segment in The Silver Chain Trilogy, and boy of boy what a roller coaster of a ride it has been. These series has evoked emotions in me that I had not visited with for a while. You will be angry, spitting angry at some times, there will be lots of tears as they experience heartbreak after heartbreak, large amounts of laughter as they discover love and life together and of course, the most important there will be many, many, many different types of sex scenes from the most beautiful moments of making love to some bondage, flogging and lets not forget the menage and girl on girl scene. All very tastfully done, hot as hell and fitting right in with the story.
Serena and Gustav are trying to get on with their lives but the horrid ex-wife is not quite finished trying to cause trouble. In the segment she manages to pulls some really incredible stunts, and she has help from people that you just did not expect. Very jaw dropping.
Serena spends some time with her cousing Polly and it does my heart good to see them strengthen this family bond. Gustav and his brother Pierre also work hard at repairing their relationship.
As with the other two stories there is lots and lots of sex happening, there is experimenting happening with Serena as she spends time with other women and we again catch a few glimpes of The Weinmeyers. It is extremely tastefully done as the author takes on an unbelievable journey with this couple.
Sometimes as a reader, as we start to read a third chapter in a trilogy we are near the end of our attention span, I mean really how much can you read about the same couple before it starts to become repetitive. BUT, this author is simply amazing, I enjoyed The Diamond Ring as much as The Silver Chain. The story line was still fresh and filled with many new story concepts that certainly kept my attention if not demanded my attention. I would give this story a 5/5 or higher if I could.
I received the book from the author for an honest.
This is the third book in the Unbreakable Trilogy, and a great edition if I may add. It really ties all the loose ends together as more twists are revealed within the plot. Just going on from where it stopped in book 2, you was immediately drawn into the life of Serena and Gustav.
The character, Margot played a bigger role within this book, as Gustav tried to rid himself from his past and build a new future with Serena, and Serena tried to make peace with it. When she came face to face with Margot you knew more than knickers would fly as the animosity became visible throughout the story until a great ending.
The relationship between Pierre and Serena was like a yo-yo. Up and down it moved from day to day, so that you never knew what was behind all the lies and stories. If it was true or just another lie.
With new characters that was added into the mix of limbs and heavy breathing you were in for a few pages of heated passion and exploration of the human body, allowing the characters to grew and become more confident.
Serena's character had grown the most throughout the complete trilogy. Once scared and confused, she became a voice in her own field. Self confident in her approach and new who she was when she faced Margot. Her maturity grew in leaps and bounds and I enjoyed her character, although her doubts at times had me at the point of shaking her to get a grip and move on. Making to much of certain things.
Of all the men featured in the book, Gustav is still my favorite. His willingness to work through the things in his past, his handling of each situation and his love for Serena undoubtedly makes him a wonderful caring man in my book.
Other all a great trilogy that will capture the imagination and heat the sheets while you are lost in the mystery and the unexpected of the story.
The Diamond Ring is the third and final book in the Unbreakable Trilogy; I was given a review copy by the publisher in exchange for an honest review so here goes...
The Diamond Ring is by far the best of the books in the trilogy however it is still a very weird series of books.
This book starts very much like the previous two books with Serena & Gustav travelling the world, working and having copious amounts of sex.
This book gets back to Serena’s voyeuristic roots and I found this much more titivating that the blatant in your face what’s what of kinky sex.
Now here’s where this book gets good....
Psycho Margot is BRILLIANT!!! The woman is literally mad as a box of frogs and I loved her.
I loved the drama and intrigue that Margot caused and all of the subsequent chaos that she created added another level to this book.
This book definitely feels like the Serena show because we rarely see or hear from Gustav and to be honest I felt like I lost the connection to them and their relationship.
I don’t feel like there was any real resolution in this book, its builds and builds and then kind of fizzles out.
Margot is eventually caught but not in a dramatic crescendo, they stumble upon her in a hospital.
This book had massive potential but for me it just didn’t meet my hopeful expectations.
I have to say I found the Riad scenes very confusing, was it a brothel or what??? Why were the girls all wearing the ankle bracelets?
And also where the hell was Tomas was he arrested and if not why the hell not!!!
Sorry but again this book just didn’t work for me I found myself having to force myself to pick it up and read it and then fight harder to not skip pages in the boring bits!!! I gave it 3 stars it was better than book 2 but unfortunately it just didn’t do it for me.
Fans of Gustav and Serena who have followed this series from the very beginning will not be disappointed in this third and final piece of the trilogy jigsaw puzzle which opens where book two ended. Gustav and Serena are completely wrapped up, quite literally, in each other and their sensuous appeal really knows no bounds, and yet like a blot on their intimate landscape is Gustav's ex wife, Margot, who is determined to do all that she can to sever the unbreakable connection between these two captivating lovers.
In many ways this final piece of the trilogy has a darker edge to it. There are episodes of anger, deception and betrayal and times when the unbreakable bond between Gustav and Serena is tested to its absolute limit. And yet, running through the story like a silken thread is the undeniable passion that they have for each other and the hope that in the end good will overcome pure evil. As always, the author captures the erotic world of opulent desire and takes the reader on a tumultuous journey, from the allure of Paris, through to the exotic world of the Moroccan souk, and with verve and panache skilfully manoeuvres the plot to its dramatic conclusion.
I’m not an enthusiastic reader of erotic fiction, not from any prudish sensibility, but more because I have never found an erotic novel with a story to capture my literary imagination. However, I am delighted to write that with this trilogy I have been completely won over by the author’s passionate storytelling and have been enthralled in Gustav and Serena’s story from beginning to end.
I will start out completely honestly by saying that I was not anxiously awaiting this book. After the second book in this series I felt disconnected from the story and characters because things just seemed to be getting a little too out of control. I did read this book because I was curious to see how everything with Gustav, Serena, Margot, and Pierre would play out.
As expected, Margot finally fully presents herself in this story. She is sick, in body and sprit, and adds a nice touch of danger and intrigue to the story. However, Margo gets a little too detached from reality for my liking. For most of the story you are still unsure about Pierre and his intentions, which is a bit exhausting. This man has done some wicked things but also shows a bit of a caring heart every so often and Serena and Gustav just don’t know what to do about him. Serena takes off for a happy visit with her cousin Polly and ends up lied to, drugged, and kidnapped. Serena and Gustav have gotten engaged but Serena has these constant feelings of mistrust and doubt when it comes to their relationship. There just wasn’t anyone in these stories that I found myself connecting with or rooting for. All of the characters were too flawed in my opinion. The end wraps up nicely and does present the reader with a somewhat stable conclusion, which I was happy about. I felt like these stories had a lot of potential and truly enjoyed most of the first book, but they ended up not being to my liking.
Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy of The Diamond Ring, the finale in the Unbreakable trilogy.
This is a quintessential Primula Bond novel. It is rich in imagery and sensual descriptions. Although I did not read the second book in the trilogy, I had enough back ground from book one and The Diamond Ring does fill in enough details so I was not lost in the story.
Margot, Gustav's ex-wife, is an omnipresent , evil, vindictive presence, and her constant threat runs through the book. Serena, continues to be the all-too-naive country bumpkin even as her sexual experiences and voyeurism blossoms.
Gustav and Serena fall into Margot's evil plans over and over again. They allow her to plant seeds of doubt when they know they must have a united front against Margot's plans to divide them. At times, the plot felt a bit like The Perils of Pauline as Serena's naïveté gets her into one predictable problem after another.
Dangerous Liaisons is used by the author as a comparison to Margot's wicked, sexually-oriented schemes and her ultimate demise. Additionally, Sleeping Beauty is also used as an analogy for the plot of Diamond Ring. Both are appropriate.
While I found it tiresome that Serena fell for one ploy after another, the overall quality of the writing and the unique plot make this a worthy read. The ending is quite satisfying. I thought the quality if the storyline surpassed Anne Rice's erotic endeavors.
**I received this book from Netgalley for my honest review***
This books picks off where book 2 leaves off ..
Gustav and Serena engaged to be married. They are thinking everything that they had gone thru, the rough patches, the hard time, the trials are over but sadly, they are wrong. Margot, Gustav’s ex-wife and Pierre, Gustav’s brother have plans to wreak havoc for the couple.
Margot just wants to cause hate and discontent; she even concocts events, in various countries, to get Gustav to show up. She lures in friends, tells these outrageous lies, all just to keep Serena and Gustav apart. Pierre wants Serena, but only just to have what his brother has. In his mind, only Serena can give him that happiness and he needs her for that. Pierre eventually decides that he won’t stand in their way. Pierre isn’t a bad guy, he just wants to be loved like Gus loves Serena.
The vivid scenes, the erotic tones, and when the epic event between Serena and Margot took place, the song “Breath of Life” by Florence and the Machine seem to play in my head. Where the lyrics ask “And I needed one more touch/ Another taste of divine rush/And my heart is a hollow plain/For the devil to dance again/And the room is too quiet…..”
I think this book was so delish. It was too good, that I hated to put this book down. I will say that I hope Pierre gets his own book. He deserves to find his happiness.
My rating :: 5 ****
ARC from Netgalley
I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first two installments. I found the language a bit over the top at times, in particular Serena's dialogue. The sexual encounters which seemed daring and exciting in books 1 and 2 not feel like attempts to be shocking. At times I felt the narrative didn't flow successfully, jumping between two scenarios suddenly and temporarily leaving me confused until I re-orientated myself. Until about half way through the book I was wondering if I would finish, although I hate to be defeated by a book, it then picked up and I needed to see how it played out. Primula Bond is very convincing in her description of the confusing and dark events happening to Serena. I started to feel the suspicion and paranoia Serena felt and as she did, questioned what's the truth? What is merely an idea Margot has planted? Who is to be trusted and who is plotting against her? Like Serena, I even started to believe Gustav goes back to Margot, who I was able to picture clearly from the descriptions the author gave. I've only given 3 stars because I didn't get into the book until half way through but after that it was a gripping read.
So we finally have the final book in this trilogy by Primula Bond. We are transported back into the story and it feels like an emotional amusement park ride. There is hatred, tears and everything in between. Margot was front and center with all her sadistic nastiness and the cat fight finally comes to a head as we had expected.
Primula was able to wrap every thing up in a neat little bow by the end of the book. This dark erotica is sexy with some voyageur scene and girl on girl action just like we seen in the previous books. A word of warning, be careful; as you might and up with some tingling feelings your self. Having said that this book/series is not for the YA audience and would be rated R in the movie theaters.
I did find that this book was better written then the 1st two. And I could see how Primula left herself some room to start another series with Polly and Pierre if she was so declined. I could see this one being not quite a 4, but maybe more of a 3.75 stars out of 5.
Again please know that I got this free ARC from HarperCollins UK of Mischief Books in exchange that I give my honest opinion in return.
Serena throughout this trilogy changes from an abused, wallflower into the living embodiment of sex. Her transformation grows with each book. Gustav is a battered and bruised soul. He sees Serena in a chance meeting and knows she is the woman who can save him from his dark and horrific past. Gustav strikes a deal with Serena, a budding photography, by giving her the chance to explode onto the art scene while he gets his chance to know her. There life together is far from easy when his past comes home to roost. For an erotic romance, this book almost reads as a erotic thriller packed with very steamy love scenes of all walks of life along with bits of violence and rage.
Bond has masterfully written what I can only call the best erotic romance series to hit the market since Fifty Shades of Grey. Serena’s sexually awakened and interests makes Christian Grey look like a boy scout. If you are looking for a series that will make you sweat, cry and worry all at the same time then the Unbreakable Trilogy should be your first choice in a new series.
I was very excited to read this last book of the Unbreakable trilogy. After reading the first two books, I could not wait to see how the story of Gustav and Serena ended. And with the cliffhanger of an ending the second book, with Gustav's brother showing up of the blue with Polly, I have been dying to know what happened.
As usual, Margot (Gustav's ex-wife), was there to try and ruin any happiness between Serena and Gustav. Serena had a hard time figuring out if Gustav's brother, Pierre, was involved or not. I had a hard time figuring it out, too. The book kept me guessing and interested through every page. It was exotic, intriguing and very well-written.
I loved the story of Gustav and Serena, through all three books. I was completely invested. I wanted things to work out for Gustav and Serena. I know that not everyone may be interested in reading erotic fiction, but it truly just adds to the story. And it is not as graphic as you may be imagining.
Have to admit I was so desperate to find out what happened in this book I picked it up and started reading as soon as I'd finished The Golden Locket. This book brings Margot out of the shadows and deposits her firmly in Gustav and Serena's lives, causing mayhem and doing her best to ruin their happiness. This book is much darker than the previous books and it makes a thrilling end to an excellent trilogy; secrets come out, truths are shared, and the villain gets even more crazy.
I really enjoyed this trilogy, Primula Bond manages to weave believable characters who we really care about and deliver adventure and romance with fantastic skill. Even the darker parts of this story are told with sensitivity and a deft touch. The books seemed to get darker as they progressed, mirroring Serena's character development, and showing us the story through her eyes, but we do have a beautiful and romantic ending. Really loved it.
Gustav and Serena are close to their HEA, but it seems to merit that still have to go through some trials.
In the previous book we saw Gustav's brother, Pierre, and how they had an unresolved situation. Gustav wanted to solve this, zeroed everything, but from what we can see here, Pierre has not changed much ...
And besides that there is Margot. Aaahhhhh! Is There more perfidious woman than her? On a whim she wants Gustav back, and will do anything to get him.
The love between Gustav and Serena will have to be strong to endure it all.
The story is sexy, but the focus was more on plot than the sex scenes themself. Very good.
The pace is good and keeps the reader always wondering what's next.
And nothing to leave behind what can be resolved now.
A trilogy that makes you believe that there is no perfect relationship, but there is love to win everything.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
Book three continues with Serena's journey into exploring the opposite sex but it also has more of a plot with Gustev's ex wife Margot. This lady is very delusional and will do anything to get Serena out of her way to win Gustev back even though he wants nothing to do with her. Every corner the author makes you wonder if this has something to do with Margot or not. Serena I find is still very naive and that drove me crazy at one point as you just want to give her a shake and be like he isn't want you think. The last book in this trilogy ends on the terms that I was hoping. I really love the authors way of storytelling. She doe it with great detail that you can feel almost part of the action.
I give this book a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
This very descriptive story is coming to a conclusion in Book three with a very dramatic climax…
Now engaged Gustav and Serena, should have everything they ever wanted. And all the happiness in the world, but the past has come back, and once again will interfere with the fairy tale Romance.
Margot, Gustav’s ex-wife, is set to abolish everything that Gustav cares about, her twisted scheme starts with Serena…
And her warped sense of reality will cause complications no one anticipated.
This series will take you around the world and back, it’s sexy and erotic Story will have you turning each page with anticipation, this will not disappoint. It’s well written and quite dramatic.
Fans will enjoy the final act here in Book three.
Wow, what an end to the series. I was captivated from book one, was at the edge of my seat through book 2 and exasperated during this final book 3.
It was hard to take a breath whilst reading this book, I just wanted it to reach it's conclusion praying that it would be a good ending and not quite sure which way it would go.
The focus is mainly on Serena in this one, but it still kept you engaged, worried and enraged throughout the book. When you finally reach the last chapters you can finally breathe easy!
I thoroughly recommend this series.
These books have gotten better as they've gone along. Book 1 I wasn't that impressed with. Book 2 got better but book 3 I loved. This book as romance, love, sex, betrayal. Very well written with an exciting story line. It got quite evil and twisted towards the end which made for exciting reading. But True Love Wins in the end. Very interesting characters, with Pierre starting out as really bitter, trying to wreck everything but becoming a thief saviour in the end. Margot being really twisted but ends up where she belongs. And the all the other interesting characters you get to meet along the way makes this a great book.
