When you’re the top wolf on the continent with the backing of the Goddess, how does an enemy topple your kingdom? By challenging you to a fight? No. By changing the rules.
After three hundred years of fighting and service to the Goddess, Silas Knight is the Patron, Alpha to the Alphas on the North American continent. As the top wolf, he fears little and has seen most things. But when he discovers someone or something has been quietly disturbing the natural order of things, he’s surprised. Certain human women have the ability to birth fully functioning wolves, and that’s a major problem.
Jasmine Bennett has no idea her deceased husband was a wolf shifter or that her twin sons are shifters. Her life changes when she rushes to her son’s bedside after he’s wounded in Afghanistan and returned stateside. Now her life’s in danger because of her ability to give birth to a breed of beings she never knew existed.
After sending out a mating call which Silas answered, Jasmine’s pregnant and depressed. Her life has spiraled out of control. Silas is angry that his first “litter of pups” are half breeds. A group of human breeders offer her a chance to leave Silas, offering a strange brand of protection. When a human breeder enters the compound using a weapon the wolves are helpless against, Silas and Jasmine understand the true meaning of Birth Control. (Book two)
Silas is discovering what it means to have a family. Unfortunately it seems to clash at the worst times with running the wolf nation. Someone is literally throwing a series of challenges at him in an effort to remove him from office. Silas and Jasmine’s relationship is tested and the outcome was uncertain. With prophecies running rampant about the future of the wolf nation, and mysterious happenings, Silas and Jasmine are stumped by the BirthMarks on their sons.
This is the third book in the La Patron series. Book one is BirthRight, Book two is BirthControl and should be read first for a better understanding of this book.
I live in the southeast and enjoy reading and writing all things paranormal. Nothing is more relaxing than cracking open a new adventure in a new world.
I love paranormal tales and characters in general and shifter stories in particular. Throw in the romantic element, strong Alpha characters who bend beneath the power of love and I’m over the moon. Sighs…
And the story continues, the fight to protect his family and the search to discover the breeders... The story is intriguing enough to keep me reading the series.. 😊
Silas is so powerful that he can pull every wolf that his senses can reach In this book they've gotten more enemies... The pups were bigger and already playing New characters are added And Silas and Jasmine's love grew more in each in every struggle they surpass Gotta love Tyrese and Tyrone too 😍
It was a good book, I liked all the characters even the new additions, but come on its getting a little crazy. Viruses, people with optical lensesin their eyes, bombers , labs and all this madness. its tooo much. dont get me wrong I will still read the next one im invested. but please stop the maddness. la patron had enough problems and this just seems like to many ideas in one.
Silas and Jasmine continue to learn more about each other and how, as a family, they can get through everything. With new threats being found in the most unexpected places Silas must learn to trust the ones closest to him. Jasmine gets a blast from the past that shakes things up a bit. With the Goddesses guidance Silas must find a way to protect his family and heal one of his pups/babies. just when everything seems to be boom and gloom the most beautiful things happens. Well written with lots of action, and all of the characters worked well together.
I am really loving this series, the story just gets better and better. The characters are great and with new ones coming in you just get more involved in the scenes due to how it is written which is great, it keeps you on the edge of your seat with the action and the relationships, can't wait to read the next one.
These books are so griping and exciting. They keep you in the moment. While other books leave you knowing how it will end or who done it. These books are so so good . I love Silas and Jazz relationship. Oh so beautiful. You never read these books you got to read them. I want more this couple. They are so good that i am reading them all over again for a 5th time.
I chose this rating because I have read 3 of the series and they all left me on the edge of my seat. I am happy to see that Sydney Addae chose her character Jasmine from the real world, older single mother, and still searching for someone to love her.
The fast paced world of werewolves is so fascinating to me,my mind has been blown away. This series just gets better and better each time I read a book in the series I cannot put the books down. Now for the next one....!
I have a deep appreciation for all the characters in this captivating novel, but I find myself particularly drawn to the twins, Tyrese and Tyrone. They are half-breeds, a unique blend of human and wolf lineage, adding rich complexity to their identities. Their mother, Jasmine Bennett, is a human breeder of wolves, which ties her to a larger, often hidden world of shifters. Then there's Silas Knight, known as the Alpha's Alpha, a title that carries immense weight and respect. These individuals are not just characters; they are dynamic, multifaceted beings who navigate love and conflict with intense passion.
The story unfolds against the backdrop of a formidable conflict where Silas Knight reigns as the top wolf on the North American continent, a position strengthened by the blessings of the Goddess. However, the true challenge to his dominion doesn’t come from a direct confrontation or a daring fight; instead, it arises from an insidious manipulation of the very rules that govern their world. After serving the Goddess and fighting for over three hundred years, Silas has encountered countless adversities and fears little. But he is jolted when he uncovers a quiet disruption of the natural order—some human women possess the extraordinary ability to bear fully functional wolves. This revelation is not just shocking; it's a catastrophe that threatens the balance of their existence.
Jasmine Bennett, unaware of her late husband’s true identity as a wolf shifter or the hidden heritage of her twin sons, finds her life turned upside down when she rushes to the hospital following her son’s injury in Afghanistan. This harrowing moment catapults her into a world she never knew existed, one filled with danger linked to her mysterious ability to birth a hybrid breed. In "Birthmark," the stakes escalate for both Silas and Jasmine, who soon realize they have become targets of ruthless adversaries intent on annihilating them. These foes are desperate to thwart Silas before he can uncover their identities and schemes.
Armed with the Goddess's backing, a loyal nation of wolves, and the fierce support of his two formidable step-sons along with his mate at his side, Silas embarks on a relentless pursuit of those who threaten their safety. Yet, his path is fraught with an avalanche of challenges that come crashing down upon him, one after the other, rarely allowing him a moment to catch his breath. But Silas, being the Goddess’ top Wolf, rises bravely to confront these trials in a heart-pounding narrative that showcases his resilience and strength as he proves himself worthy of being LaPatron, the Alpha's Alpha.
As for the audiobook experience, the narrator, Michelle A. Simmons, brings her own unique interpretation to the text. While her style sometimes veers towards a personal rendition rather than a straightforward reading, which can be slightly irritating for me, her vocal variety truly shines. She excels in breathing life into the characters, giving each one a distinct personality through her dynamic portrayal.
This series is a treasure that I find myself returning to time and again. No matter how much time passes between my readings, I can easily immerse myself back into their mesmerizing world, ready to embark on whatever thrilling journey awaits.
In BirthMark the third installment of Sydney Addae’s La Patron Series we again enter the lives of Silas and Jasmine. Silas has challenges thrown at him as he struggles to change his way of thinking to handle having Jasmine, a full human in his life. She is use to things being a certain way and Silas is use to his word being law. I loved how Ms. Addae handled Jasmine and Silas’s journey into compromise. Both are use to being the boss and that attitude is not conducive to a happy home life. I loved that Jasmine became a bit more bloodthirsty in this story while Silas learned a bit more about letting his hair down so to speak. Ms. Addae continues to develop her characters as both dealt with betrayal and hurt feelings. This while fighting a never ending war. I loved seeing the continuation of Jasmine and Silas’s relationship. There are just too many issues to handle in one book and Ms. Addae does a wonderful job of breaking it up while still leaving the reader satisfied with what we have learned to date. I love the additional strings she pulls into this story while continuing to focus on the growing relationship between Silas and Jasmine. This story is well written and beautifully developed. I am left wanting to know more without being disappointed in what I have learned. I can’t wait to read the next installment and find out what the Goddess has in store for this couple.
What a wonderful way to spend a day off reading about Silas" La Patron" and Jasmine.!!!!! I finished the second book last night and could not wait to continue this series. One of the reasons I've enjoyed this series so far is because it's different, it talks so much about family, I love the fact that Silas and the wolves talk about, love, pray for guidance to the goddess. I've also enjoyed the adventure the growth of the relationships between all the different parts of the family, the laughter and all the other emotions that come with reading a great book. I also love the fact that these books are full length reads so you can sink into the stories. Can't wait for more. Thank you Sydney for all,the time you have obviously put into these book.
ok I am totally hooked on this series. I will agree with some of the other reviews that the price is higher than I would like for this type of series. I'm hooked, invested and I want more. That said I love these books. The story lines have me drawn in and wondering what could possibly happen next. The only issues I'm haveing with with these books is the spelling errors which I am sad to say has been getting worse with every book making me want to get my red pen or just scream Spell check please. I'm hoping this issue gets better.
Just finished this wonderful story! This author sure has a way of keeping you in her stories. I absolutely love Silas and Jasmine! La Patron has met his match and I know at first he was totally against human's, but now...well I don't want to leave any spoilers! But I can tell you once you get into Sydney's books well your hooked! Thank you Sydney for taking me into the life of Law Patron and his pack/family. One mention though start at the beginning with book 1 so you can understand it all. On to the next!
I can't wait to read the next book. Sydney Addae knows how to write a story. When one thing after the other keeps happening, you would think Silas would loose it, but he stood there giving orders protecting his family instead of being in the mist of all the action. Even though there was so much going on in this book, you are able to keep up with everything. I love the romance that is going on between Silas and Jasmine. And the pups, oops babies, with their different personalities is funny. This is a book that I can and will recommend.
The story continues as we learn more about the threat to the half breeds and the wolf nation. While I read some comments celebrating that some of the characters are black, that really is irrelevant. It is the love between these same people that makes the story.
Full of action and some really good twist. New bonds are forged and the bad guys still are trying to destroy the Patrons family. Jasmine is a strong woman and you better leave her family alone. The bond between Silas and Jasmine is tested to it's limits and this story will keep you captivated to the end
Damn Good Read- This is a great series that has a perfect blend of romance, action, and mystery and is well written. The story flows a a wonderful pace and leaves you excited with every page you turn. Has some editing issues throughout all of the books, but it was a small nuisance that was overridden by the author's storytelling.
Another great story and addition to the series. I really like everything happening in the stories. You can see a great progression and strengthening of the couples love, admiration, and respect growing from book to book. They have their issues like any other couple but they tend to work through them beautifully. Not to mention their actual mating is hot.
This one was a little long winded - too much detail and repitition about why the wolves were being targeted. But, other than that, this book was really good. I especially loved the mental connection and affection between Jasmine and Silas. Plus, the love scenes were super HOT! ;-)
Good continuation to the series. Am hoping that in the fourth one we will find out some of the answers and that tyrese will find his mate:) Overall a really good new series found once again by a free kindle read!
Who would have thought my favorite line could be my new favorite saying! Silas has made it so! Jazmine and Silas are one my favoritte couple list! I love this series!
I've got to get to sleep or I'd jump right into the next installment of these books. Been reading for 5 hours straight and it's 3:30 am. I just couldn't put it down!
I've read the books and I will say early on that I hated Silas. He more than made up for it in the last two books. You understand why he behaved the way he did. So far I would definitely recommend reading the series. So far so good.
Addae has become one of my favorite fantasy, romance authors
The third installment did not disappoint me at all. Well written, with believable sex scenes. Strong characters and a fast pace story that held my attention. Love it...I love a book that gives you a story to follow.
