James Holland has all the basics covered and his life, as usual, is on track.
That is until he meets her—Lana Webber.
Then everything falls apart, as he falls for her.
Along the way to losing his heart for the first time, he manages to fulfill a bargain he made a long time ago in a bar in Nashville where he left a dream.
But she has skills at ruining lives, she's mastered them destroying her own, and she's the last thing he needs in his life.
Try telling that to his heart as he finds himself more and more drawn to the girl deemed by all as unlovable.
And as hard as he tries not to be interested, the closer he gets to her the worse it is.
She is nothing like what she is portrayed in the public eye.

Lana Webber is the girl every guy claims to have had.
But she doesn't care what people say about her.
She has fun.
At least she did until everyone started saying she had it coming.
But this time—she didn't.
For the first time ever, Lana is innocent but her past has her guilty before anyone even hears her side.
Betrayed, ditched, and humiliated—Lana discovers the road to redemption lies in a dirty secret.
THE James Holland, soccer star and smug womanizer, isn't quite what he's portrayed to be.
When she blackmails him into seeing things her way she gets more than she bargained for.

DNF at 48%. I just couldn't take these spoiled Ivy League college students one more minute, especially our so called heroine who was one nasty, screwed up b**ch. I had hopes for the hero, but he just became a soccer playing, Ivy League sap trying to help the nasty heroine. And, his so called secret wasn't such a big deal. Read "Price of a Kiss" by Linda Kage for a much better take on our hero's secret.

I laughed I cried, I loved, loved, loved this book! Beautiful and definitely not what I expected. Very good story about discovering yourself and falling in love at the same time. I was glued to the pages.

Back with another book by Erin Leigh (This is also on the free reads on Kindle Unlimited) I started For Love or Money. I was interested to see where this one would go and what would happen.

This book isn't bad. I know I gave it 3 stars which may suggest it is. My issue was that I could not stand the main character Lana. I know in the beginning we see she is a selflish, immature, rich bitch who only cares about her self. But her constant shitty actions and choices made me not want to read about her. By the time things started to get better I still disliked her so much it felt like she was only doing things again for herself so she would get what she wants and not to make a change. I couldn't warm to her at all which is a shame when at the end she really does turn herself around.

For me this book would have been nothing without James and the other characters. Even Leo who I originally didn't like because of Lana, seemed to redeem himself in my book. I even liked andy and he was far from a good boy!

This book wasn't the best work by Erin but its also older from what I can see and maybe she was trying to find her feet still a little with her writing. Its not a bad book and the story is actually fairly good although it doesn't feel like anything monumental happens in a form of climax. The sex is hot, James carried this book for me. 3 stars but its all Lana's fault I swear!

This book had a little rocky start but I knew I loved James when he took care of Lana (at this point the boy hates her guts), "tears are streaming her face. She backs away from me, covering her chest like she's naked but I've dressed her. I've dressed her and cared for her and carried her, regardless of how much I despise her." It took getting to the middle of the book for me to actually fall in love with it, and even more with James, "he breathes into my hair, still worked up and puffing from the fight. "I'll kill anyone who touches you." The boy thinks a date should include a soccer game, one that he's playing in (typical male), "he scowls, hovering over my lips. "I asked you to come to my soccer game and watch me kick a**. I will be gracing you with the gift of my mad skills." I love how Tara can venture into other genres, but this one was kinda a so-so for me.

This book was nuts. James and Lana are super duper unlikable Harvard students. Rather than a caricature of a rich asshole Lana actually is a rich asshole. She's got depth at it. Fate and weird sexual proclivities throw Lana and James together. And 2 dickheads become kinda cool.
There were some random subplots. Some jumping around. Some unnecessary junk. But this author writes the best actual characters. Not non-existent perfect people. Not people so flawed you know they aren't real. But characters that seem like you could bump into them. Weird and neurotic and diagnosable. I can't get enough of her and the realness she brings to each book.

I liked this book, it jus moved a bit too fast for me. It felt like all the pieces were there but parts could have been developed a bit more.
Lana was a horrible spoilt brat of a music mogul, who gets into trouble for the last time as her father threatens to disown/inherit her. James is a soccer scholarship student who can sing but funds his college Through his own sordid secrets. To prove to her father that she is the daughter he always wanted she blackmails James to help her although unaware he already sees through the mask she wears to cover her pain.

Parts of this story were really good. Too bad that the heroine got on my nerves from the beggining. That ruined it for me.

Man, Tara NEVER disappoints! Seriously, that girl can write anything!!!
Now I need a cold shower, this book was HOT and I want to be James dirty girl!!

See complete post here:http://sexandthebooks.wordpress.com/2...

As you know I’m very honest in my reviews and if I say I like and pimp Tara’s books is because every one of them I liked! As I said, when I first started talking to her, I’ve already read two of her books, so before I knew here I was already pimping her book! I’m always honest when I say that Tara is just fantastic!

My first two books by her were “dark”, mind f***ck ones and than I started reading other books by Tara and that characteristic that is so hers, to turn a story into something completely unexpected and build different stories inside one story appeared in every one of her books that I read so far…

Last week I finally read her book My Side and it was a surprise! I couldn’t find that characteristic, but it didn’t make the story less amazing! Just the opposite…Taking unexpected turns wouldn’t match with that story, so I was pleased to see a different side of Tara with it. By the way, I super recommend it, LOVED My Side!

And than I started reading For Love or Money and BAM! She does it again! It sure has a few turns but nothing like I would expect. Tara blows my mind again! She never, NEVER disappoints and fail to amaze me! If you want to read a book by a writer who doesn’t write what you expect and just simply writes amazing stories, Tara is your girl! I’m convinced, Tara can write ANYTHING and I’m sure she can turn any subject into an interesting one and come up with an amazing story! Seriously…I have a reader crush on her, obviously LOL

In For Love or Money we meet Lana, a very selfish rich girl who has everything she wants and is a cry for attention. I didn’t expect to like her, on the first pages I actually disliked her very much, she was just too superficial. But even then I knew there was more to her.

Than enters James, the hot college football player who also has some secrets in his sleeves and tatooed body. James intrigued me from the start and damn, what a hot, dirty boy he is! I finished this book feeling like I NEEDED to meet him, I honestly would be happy with one goal in my life: being James’s dirty girl. Honestly!

The combination of Lana and James though, makes the story just flow! Lana needed James in her life and us readers needed him in her life so we could see she actually wasn’t always that selfish girl and inside her there was this completely different girl trying to come up to life again. Only James to be able to bring the real Lana not only to the surface, but for the whole world to see. He is as real as you get, even though he has his own dirty secret, Lana is pretty drawn to him (as would any living hetero female in the world!!) and she needed a dosage of his realness so she could show the world not only her potential, but herself!

She is afraid of a lot of things and James makes her fears not only disappear, but also be blindsided by how much more she can be when she forgets about them. With James there’s no barrel, no fears, no secrets and she can simply be…

James also needed Lana in his life…only she was able to show him that he could actually have the dual life he wanted, the college boy and the musician he was. Both of them are incredibly gifted, but both were afraid to show it. James fear though is not like Lana’s, he isn’t afraid to show the world his talent, but he’s afraid his talent and love for music would shadow his future, he wanted to have opportunities besides music. But when this two incredible people get united, they are unstoppable. No fears, no crazy people, nothing and no one could stop then from shining!

But in the middle of all this there’s also a mystery of Lana’s crazy perv stalker/rapist to be solved. Since she is pretty much addicted to sex, her being used is not something people would think of, after all in the eyes of the world she asked for all she got, but she is not that. She feels and she gets hurt and she feels guilty for being so out of control, people would think she wanted the attention of crazy guys or that she would drug minors just to have a good time.

Lana needs to prove herself for her father, the mega music mogul, but she also needs to prove her value to herself, and making her work for it is the best lesson her father ever gave her. Along the way she will learn a lot, specially about herself.

You will certainly laugh a lot with her, root for her, swoon over James and just enjoy this crazy yet amazing ride!

This book has action, rock, music and players, what else not to like? Oh, did I mention the steamy scenes???!!! Oh boy! You’re in for a treat…

The only thing I wanted more was for James secret to be more explored, but that doesn’t make the book and the story bad, it’s just my crazy Tara-addicted mind wanting more of her writing!!!

Oh, you don’t need to read My Side before, they are different stories, but the main character from it is mentioned in For Love or Money and I smiled big every time someone talked about him…

I just love Tara’s characters…the guys are always swoon worthy, amazing and the girls are always badass, snarky girls, and I relate so much with them haha I feel like I’m best friends with them and in the end I just want to hug the whole book! I wish there was a way I could meet all of them, what a crazy and fun party that would be!!!

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I didn't hate it, and I didn't love it. My 3 star rating is spot on, I liked it and that's all.

The main character is a rich bitch party girl...going to school but absorbed in the drug and party scene and herself of course...completely self absorbed- NOT the type of girl I would ever hang out with in the real world. However, as the book went on Lana actually shows herself to have some redeeming qualities that I was surprised to see...she actually feels more than just worrying about her credit cards and makeup/fashion choices.

There are some pretty crazy scenes...some off the wall stuff- like the one where .

James is a Harvard soccer player who is at the college on scholarship, not because he has a rich daddy.

Note: I would like to mention I always give books a fair chance.

This is a DNF for me. From the get-go I wasn't feeling it.

My first impressions of For Love or Money wasn't good. Expectations for any book is a good beginning; A beginning which is interesting and/or entices the reader, this did neither. Instead I got an eyeful of shallow, self-absorbed characters who didn't catch my attention. I didn't find their characteristics amusing or refreshing or likable. I just did't get it.

By 5% I knew I wasn't going to like it. I know books like I know myself and I just knew this book wasn't doing it for me. Very rarely do I discontinue reading a book as I believe in fair chances but I wasn't feeling it here.

I quit at 8%. Not only my above mentions, but I didn't feel any character connections. It was like the words were there, but there was nothing behind them.

I will definitely try another book by this author and hopefully I will enjoy them more.

I wasn’t sure after I started that I would like this book, but the story and the characters really grew on me. This is a very different style from my favorites by Tara Brown. I absolutely love The Single Lady Spy Series, The Devil’s Roses Series, and the Born trilogy. This is also not your typical romance novel. Lana and James have issues and have both made poor choices in life that they have to overcome, but it’s a really good [and hot] story.

When we first meet Lana, she’s this ultra-spoiled rich girl who is considered the campus slut. And well, I didn’t really like James so much either. I’m not sure at what point in the story my mind was changed or because of what specific events, but all of a sudden I found that I loved their chemistry and thought they deserved to be happy together.

I'm a sucker for cute love stories. I'm also a sucker for the rich bratty girl getting a life changing experience that makes her want to be something and someone more! I find Tara Browns writing to be witty and engaging and she wraps you into the characters whether they are loveable or snarky. I don't know how she makes me love characters that should be hated!!! Lol! Seriously Lana isn't someone I could get along with in real life but she had redeeming qualities that endear you to her. Something only the reader and her sexy love interest sees. This is a fantastic, cute, quick read that any Tara Brown will fall in love with! Some hot scenes that will leave you panting too! Hahaha *wink wink* I give this story 4.5 stars!!

WHAT THE S##T!!!??? Tara has yet again blown my mind and corrupted my thoughts before bed. Seriously...where does she come up with her stories! For Love or Money is a twisted drug induced ride that twists one way then twists and dips before shooting you to the top. Lana reminds me of White Girl Problems while James reminds me of The Long Way Home ; both really great books with memorable characters. This latest novel by Tara shows how amazing an author she is and how awesome her sense of humor makes your spit tea all over your kindle - not that I've done that...YES moving on! Be sure to check out all of Tara's work, and if you wanna know more, just ask me!

Love, love, love!!!!!! This is an amazing read!!! I love the authors world. She can go to crazy to sexy in under a second LOL :) Lanna is a spotlit little brat who gets her way and daddy gets her out of trouble. Her character was wild with not a care in the world. But when life takes a wrong turn she loses everything. But James is there to pick up her pieces and rule her in every way!!! 18+ Must read!!!

Beginning was a challenge
Parts of the book were choppy and I had to skim through parts but I finished the book and found it enjoyable
James Holland was everything you wanted in a book boyfriend
Side Characters were interesting
Redemption and Love were big parts of this book and there were great father/daughter moments
The book was the first one I read by this author, wasn't one of my favorites but I would give her another chance

I really enjoyed the premise for this book of a bad girl who turns her life around and finds love in the process. I was not happy that the friends abused her rust, treated her like crap and nearly ruined her life but were accepted back with open arms and the identity of the foot guy seemed kind of contrived but those were my only complaints. The chemistry between the main characters was amazing and the love scenes nearly made my ovaries burst. well done.

Talk about your emotional roller coaster. You have a character you kinda hate, until all the sudden you love her, and a man every girl dreams of. This story will twist and torment you for reality of what people will do to save their own ass. But then proves what the heart is truly after, not money or power, but love. One cannot really live without love. Brilliant story and you will never see what's coming around the next corner.....

Eh, no. I DNF it after reading all of 7%. Poorly written, shallow heroine and her friends, poverty-shaming, OTT-rape storyline etc. I tried, I really did but after something like this?

"I heard Lana Webber gor raped. Cops came and everything."
"That can't be true. It's Lana Webber."
"I know, right? Who has to rape Lana? She's the sexual predator around here."

Are you out of your freaking mind?
No. Just no.

I have to say this story was really slow for me. I almost put it down and then about half way through when it started to pick up. The rich b**ch entitled attitude does nothing for me. I prefer books when there are redeeming qualities for both main characters. There were some FUNNY parts that I had me laughing out loud.

I have just finished reading this book and I really don't know what to write...
Lama is a rich party girl, complete with drug use and sex
James is a good boy who has a body for sin and gets paid for it :)
It's a story about learning to overcome issues and falling in love....
Maybe I'll think of something else to write later....!

This book was ok.James and Lana's personalities just weren't consistent.Lana was a spoilt rich kid and James was a student who had to work hard for what he had. When they became a couple they seemed to change into different people.I didn't feel a genuine connection between them.I did finish the book but I was disappointed as I loved Tara Brown's other books so had high expectations.

This is one of those stories that replays in your head no matter how long it's been since you've read it last. This story is shocking in ways, eye-opening in others, and down-right sweet. Yes, there are "scenes", some of them pretty dang sexy, but the story has filled a hole in my heart I didn't know was missing.

Brown does a knock out job of describing a total train wreck (Lana). Plus the male is flawed too. I love to get into both their heads with dual POV. They work through their struggles. This story has a little of everything: humor, romance, mystery, sadness, redemption, betrayal, etc.
