I personally use use walking to lose weight and as the foundation of my fitness program. I also do a few other things during the week, such as yoga, but attribute my good health, solid fitness level, and trim waistline to the amount of walking I do each day.

2.5 - 3 stars but I am rounding up because this book pre-dates newer research on the benefits of walking

Sadly, I think that Walking to Lose Weight [A 12 Week Walking Workout Plan] - The Exact Plan for Losing Weight One Step at a Time is a victim of modern advancements. I downloaded this freebie from Amazon on 6/6/2014, which pre-dates the YouTube fitness explosion and my personal discovery of Katy Bowman.

Campbell lays out a nice plan for getting started with walking, but honestly... do we need this much information? It's pretty simple: Put on your shoes. Start walking. You don't need fancy gear.
[Rant about fitness trackers and pedometers -- while these are nice to have, are they necessary? Former coworkers wore activity trackers for several years but seemingly make no progress in terms of their physical fitness. As a wise fitness person once told me: Not everything that can be counted counts and not everything that counts can be counted. And even if you're counting steps, what does it mean if you're sitting for 10+ hours per day? End rant.]

We know now that walking for fitness is important, but that incidental walking and incidental movement is required to fight the epidemic of our addiction to sedentarism and our phones.

Most people think getting in shape requires a lot of work, and the truth is, it does. That's why most have trouble getting started, and if they do, they struggle to maintain the momentum. Here is a straightforward guide to help you get moving without going too far out of your comfort zone, and the results can be amazing. Are you ready to take that first step though?

Not the best book on walking to be honest, from what I had read in this book, I already sort of knew. The author does use a lot of space advertising other books she's written but on the plus side, it did motivate me a bit to get up and get active.

This "book" is 66 pages. 66. That. Is. It. Each "chapter" ends with a link to a blog post of hers and a prompt to learn more by going to her blog. Why not put the content in the book? That way it becomes an actual, you know, book. Basically I got duped into buying a piece of marketing dreck.
