Tropes: 24

The second book, Waiting for Romeo suffers from the same issues as the first book. A "perfect" heroine. A hero who is barely a character, since his purpose is to tell the heroine how perfect she is, and how she changed his life. It continues with the slut-shaming. It adds some tropes as for the new adult genre, making the story even less original and even more bland. Apart from what mentioned in my review for the first book, this (and the first, too) suffers from uneven pacing (think glacier speed), awkward and lazy writing.

In the second book there is a bit mystery going on, but it's not much of a mystery (I guessed it even in the first book what was to come). Emilia has to face something from her past, but that isn't incorporated into the story until the last 20%, and several things that happened before with other characters are never resolved. The story becomes blander, the characters duller (if possible), and the story never seems to go anywhere, or have any sense of direction.

What I kept thinking while reading the second book was that it should've been one book. The first book barely has a plot, and it moves too slow, and the second is haphazard at best. The author should've written one book: it would've made for a tighter and smoother story and it would've had an actual, solid plot.

Love love love....... That absolutely sums up this book. After waiting (impatiently) for the continuation of Logan and Emilia's story, there are no more doubts left in my mind of Logan's intent. He is by far the sweetest guy ever!!!

After the cliffhanger ending on Running from Romeo, Waiting for Romeo gives further explanation of why the characters act as they are. I really like that even if it is very obvious how tight and deeply involved Logan and Emilia are with each other, the friendships that they have created did not become a hindrance to each other but served as a strength to them apart of course for Logan's crazy bff's. It is also apparent that even though both Logan and Emilia have shady past, they are very far from those damsel and distress female or suicidal males. They are both intelligent individuals who have easily understood their priorities and chose to rise above their darkness by finding each other. The most obvious and consistent point here is their huge love for each other and this is what kills me! I want a Logan for myself ;)

I was really on the edge the whole time about the Sebastian debacle, but whoa! Speed bump and crash! A twist! Man oh man! I thought I had an idea earlier but, it was way unexpected and I liked it. Though I have to say, I did not have a clear answer about the Seraphina, Sebastian and the other incident. I was waiting for more, but I guess I'm good after everything that has happened. Love, friendship and loyalty are overflowing in this book and I can't ask for more.

I have no more words to say since I don't want to spoil your fun. I sooooo so want to recommend this book to you. Start by reading Waiting for Romeo and get your sighs and tears active for Waiting for Romeo. It's soooo sweet!!!

A big big 4.5/5 stars for this book. I so wanted answers for the 3 points I mentioned earlier, but still it's good we don't have any option for 1/2 of a star right? Waiting for Romeo is here people! No point in waiting yourself :)

4.5 Stars!!!

I was given this book as an ARC for an honest review!!!

I loved the beginning of the book, OMG Logan was amazing, he actually slipped into her bed in her father's house! Hahaha sooo funny.... It was the perfect scene after the traumatic heartbreak I felt from the ending of the first book... It was so full of emotions and surprising moments. I really like reading comedy in this type of books, it makes the reading more appealing and enjoyable, and this definitely was a prove of it...

Again the characters prove to be worthy of the book:

Logan was out of this world, he blew my mind with those tiny details, again the EMAILS, sweet words, always knew how to treat and woo her... PERFECT!!

Emilia definitely stood up for what she wanted in this book, what I liked about her was that she learned how to stand up for herself and allowed Logan to be part of her life, despite her fears and doubts. Also she learn to trust him with everything that happened and was happening in her life.

Logan and Emilia fit perfectly, its amazing how he really fought for her, those moments they share together, the teasing, mails, texts, phone calls, MONTECITO... Uuff I want my own Logan....

Bryn was just the perfect best friend! Loved her, seriously she rocks... Always there for Emilia, giving her support, advices, trust, love.... My kind of gal!

I loved the new character Chloe, seriously freaking hilarious... And perfect for Tyler, Yay!! Will there be a book about them?? I thinks it will be awesome... Pretty pleaseeeeeee.... ;) Diane Mannino

The ending of the book was great, it really surprised me a lot, it wasn't what or who I expected, but that made it even better...

I totally recommend you to read this series.... You will love it!

Fav quotes: ❤

“You are in my every thought. I see you when I open my eyes. I see you when I close my eyes. I will never forget about you.”

“Emilia, I. Need. You. You brought meaning to my life.”

“The thought of losing you forever and you being with someone else killed me. I know I probably don’t deserve you, but I can’t stand the thought of my life without you in it.”

“I’ve already fallen in love with you. Isn’t that enough falling?”

“Don’t think I’m crazy, but I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”

“When I think about the future…I want you with me and I will continue to woo you and basically do whatever it takes to get you to feel the same way.”

“I know enough about you to know I want to be with you now and forever. I love you, Emilia.”

“you were like this perfect angel that came into my life…beautiful, smart, sweet, funny”

“I know now I was throwing my life away. I didn’t care much about my future until I met you. And, then when I lost you…I knew I couldn’t live without you. Don’t you see, Emilia? You are my new addiction.”

“You own my heart, Emilia. I promise I will always love you. If you wear it, it means you’ll promise to love me in return.”

“I knew you’d forever change me the moment I laid my eyes on you. I know I screwed up, but sometimes that’s what we need in life”

“It scares me that we may have never have met. You complete me, Emilia. Promise me you’ll never leave me and I promise you to spend the rest of my life loving you, taking care of you."

Logan...❤❤❤

“In that moment, despite our individual imperfections, those demons that haunt us, I know we are perfect together.”

Emilia...

“Are you asking me to be your Valentine, Logan?” I say with my most sugary sweet tone. “I’ll be yours if you’ll be mine.”
He laughs. “I’ll be your valentine and whatever else you want me to be. I’m yours…heart, body and soul.”

“I love you, Emilia. Thank you for coming back to me.” He caresses my cheek gently and kisses me again.
“I love you, too Logan. Thank you for waiting for me.” I nuzzle into his chest.
“Always…now and forever.” Logan whispers.”

Logan and Emilia... ❤❤❤❤

“Thank God. I can’t live without Vampire Diaries and the new season starts this week.”

Bryn...

Thank you again Diane Mannino for this fine piece of work!! Hope to read many more of your books... :)

This is the follow up book to Running from Romeo and I was anxiously awaiting this book’s release. The first book ended on an unexpected cliffhanger that had me going W.T.F. I really fell victim to Logan & Emilia’s love story and loved watching their story unfold from the very first time they saw one another. However, that cliffhanger had me reeling! I hated it because it crushed me just as it crushed Emilia. When it ended, Emilia was heartbroken and Logan was begging for forgiveness.

This book picks up a few weeks after the end of Running from Romeo and Emilia has been ignoring Logan and all his attempts to win her back. The first half of this book really shows how Logan will stop at nothing to get Emilia back and work to gain her trust back. I had mixed emotions, just as Emilia did. On one hand, Logan screwed up…big time. He put himself in a dangerous situation, one that involved him slipping back into drugs, alcohol and skanky women. To top it off, Emilia witnessed it. So as this book started I was on the side of Emilia’s best friend, Bryn.

“That asshole. He’s screwing with your head, isn’t he? Why can’t he just leave you alone?”

My thoughts exactly. However, on the other hand, Logan was making a very conscious effort to show Emilia that he has changed. Aside from the emails, texts, calls, gifts, etc., Logan made actual changes in his life. He separated himself from all the negative influences and has devoted himself to proving to Emilia that he wants her in his life forever. Okay I’ll be honest, I totally fell for this new Logan. He was sweet and it was obvious he knew he made a huge mistake and needed to make changes to get Emilia back. He was also prepared to do anything to get her back. I found myself rooting for him more and more and wanting Emilia to give him a second chance.

“So, as much as I want you back…the bottom line is that you need to want me. I want you to want me.”>/i>

While the first half of this book was mainly about Logan trying to win Emilia’s heart back, the second book had more of a mysterious element to it. There have been a string of burglaries around the college campus, including Emilia’s apartment and the surf shop where she works. In addition, Logan’s ex-friends are making Emilia’s life extremely difficult. Sebastian, Logan’s ex-best friend/roommate, who is a drug addict has made threats to Emilia and blames her for Logan ending their friendship and kicking him out. And then there is Seraphina. That girl is a bitch and she has no redeeming quality whatsoever. She is determined to come between Logan and Emilia.

I enjoyed this book much more than the first one. I felt like the storyline flowed really well and I loved Emilia and Logan. Their love story was sweet, almost innocent. It showed it was about learning what love really is, regardless of the mistakes one or both make. I remember smiling as I was reading because I knew how much these two people truly loved one another. But, what made this book even better, was the suspense/mystery aspect of the story. Sebastian and Seraphina seemed to be a constant dark shadow in Emilia’s life. I think the best part of this book was what happened at the end – it was a total shocker and took me totally by surprise.

I think the only thing that bothered me was that some scenes and conversations felt like they moved a bit slowly. In addition, the sex scenes were a bit repetitive and predictable. I think I was able to predict what would happen next in the choreography. I also had a slight problem with Bryn’s overprotectiveness over Emilia. I feel like at the beginning she was too vocal and controlling about how Emilia should handle Logan’s attempts to win her back. I felt like she overstepped and it annoyed me in the beginning. However, all these things were so minor in the grand scheme of things that they really didn’t take away from the story at all, which is why I give it the 4.5 star rating.

“You sometimes have to start over to have a happy ending.”

This book didn’t end on a cliffhanger; however, I don’t feel like this was a complete ending either. There are a few loose ends that need to be tied up and I hope the author revisits these characters and the story. I feel like Emilia & Logan deserve their full happily ever after and hope one day they will get it. However, that being said, if the story did end here, I am content knowing that Logan and Emilia are in a good place.

I was very fortunate to be introduced to this series and amazing author by Irresistible Reads Book Tour. I am sure if I never participated in the blog tour I would have still discovered this series on my own thanks tot the magic of Goodreads, but I would have missed out on the opportunity to have work with Diane so much, and I wouldn't trade that for the world.

Book 1 ends on a heart wrenching cliff hanger. I don't want to go into too much detail for those of you discovering this series for the 1st time. But let's just say it broke my heart so much, that I repeatedly emailed Diane to beg her for book 2. As soon as I received my ARC for Waiting for Romeo, I dove right in to find out what happens. The first part of the book addressed the cliff hanger and we got to see the emotional roller coaster that the Emilia and Logan go on to attempt to repair the problems from book 1 that shattered their new found love. Immediately I was once again swept up by all the romantic ways Logan attempts to win Emilia. In this book, Emilia is finally able to open up to Logan regarding the horrors of her past. Reading about these stories, moved me to tears and seeing Logan's steadfast devotion to her and his attempt to right all her wrongs, gave him so much more brownie points in my book.

What made this story even more intense than the first was the action packed, suspenseful mystery that was added in. There is someone out there with a vengeance against Emilia and they won't stop for anything to get to her. I thought I had figured out who this villain was but I was completely wrong and shocked to discover who this person actually was. (I LOVE BEING SURPRISED). Emilia finds herself in real danger and Logan and her friends will try everything possible to keep her safe, but will it be enough?

There are many amazing aspects about this story: humor, friendship, literature, music, and perseverance. But my favorite component of this series is the abundance of love that is written into the pages. And I am not just speaking about the love between our heroine and hero. But love can be found from so many corners. We have love between a father and daughter who must pull together to recover from Emilia's mother's death and the horrors of Emilia's past. We find it between the store owners who have become a surrogate mother and father for Emilia. Then there is the love between Emilia and her best friend/room mate Bryn. This is the kind of friendship any girl would love to have. All in all this whole ensemble of characters is one that I have grown to cherish and will always love to read about.

I really enjoyed and loved the first book, Running from Romeo – but it left my heart smashed in smithereens. So just imagine my joy when I finally got my review copy... It meant a chance to finally heal this Logan heartache.

HAHAHA okay, I’m getting too melodramatic. So let’s just get on with my review.

“You are a fast runner but he is one hell of a chaser..”

So this book is a sequel to the first one and it’s all about Logan and Emilia trying to work things out after their separation. While Logan is fully aware of whatever mistakes he had done, he was willing to do anything and everything in his power just to be able to get Emilia back. And Emilia, who, need I remind you, is a very, very lucky book heroine. Duh, Logan?! Another Ultimate Book Boyfriend (you know -- good looks, wit, hotness, attitude and money!) As much as she was hurting, could never resist the intensity of the love and attraction she feels for Logan. And props to Emilia for not giving in so easily and making Logan really work hard for it. Good girls, no, GREAT girls like her just deserves it. (I feel like I sound like Bryn haha)

“Love is an endless act of forgiveness” – that says it all.

I think I liked all characters, except of course for the witch Seraphina (whose name is so appropriate because it sounds so evil haha) and Sebastian who probably has issues enough to last him 5 lifetimes. Anyway, other than them, I loved everybody else because they all have been very supportive to Emilia -- Bryn (I LOVE HER, can I be her? haha) and Chloe and the Suttons and Emilia's Dad and okay, Logan's family as well.

What also made me enjoy the book are the songs: There's one of my favorite, Demons by Imagine Dragons; and other songs which I know like those by Taylor Swift (I Knew You Were Trouble!! HAHA), Jason Mraz, David Guetta, Pink, etc. And there are also the movies like How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Legally Blonde, etc. I think this made the characters... hmm, more relatable perhaps? Get what I mean?

Oh well. This book has a happy ending and I love Logan and Emilia. I love how Logan says he fell in "lust at first sight with Emilia's looks, but love at first sight with her mind" haha! Oh I just love everything about them -- their witty banters, their conversations, their love for Shakespeare... everything! ♥

“In that moment, despite our individual imperfections, those demons that haunt us, I know we are perfect together.”

Waiting for Romeo is definitely an enjoyable read ♥ highly recommended 

Detailed Review: I loved this book to bits! It was so romantic and funny at the same time. What with the romance between Logan and Emilia and the action that kept jumping out of the dark of the most unexpected of times- this book made me light-headed. I found that I couldn't turn the pages fast enough.

I think the beauty of the book stemmed from the characters themselves. Emilia is a great heroine who has grown stronger through her past. She shows unlimited strength in the book and stubborn determination. She is also a loving and caring person, who cares for others before herself. These traits are evidence of a perfect heroine.

Now let's move on to Logan. He's changed after he saw Emilia. And he did not change one small thing. He changed A LOT. He was willing to cut off all ties to his former friends so she could see how much he really cared for her. Although he had his own demons, he managed to overcome them.

The romance brewing between the heroine and hero was truly what I'd wish for myself. Their love has become absolutely strong and Emilia has learnt to trust Logan to an extent when Montecito happened, which is the part I loved the most. It holds a huge significance in their relationship and is a starting point for them.

Then there's Bryn and Chloe. I think they're the best friends I could ask for. Having them together is a potent mix of long-lasting friendship. I love how they get along with each other with Emilia and am touched by how much they care for her. They're truly the best.

The other element in the book that gave me chills was the giant twist at the ending. It was uncalled for and unexpected. I didn't think it would be this good.

And may I request that there is a sequel for Waiting for Romeo? I haven't had enough of Emilia and Logan yet. And I'll beg for it if I have to.

Brief Review: This book is so different from it's predecessor, from the story to the love that brews between Logan and Emilia. I couldn't have asked for a better sequel. Let me just sum this book up in three words: flawless, swoon-worthy & beautiful.

Final Rating: 5/5 ' Totally Amazing!'

Emilia has had a lot happen to her in her life and more continues to happen to her. Its her senior year, she's been hurt by the one man she gave her heart to. She is now working to pick up the pieces and move on with her life, though Logan has another plan. He spends all the time he can getting to see he is really sorry and will do anything to get her back. Can Emilia learn to trust Logan again or are they better off apart?

This book blew me away just like the first one did. The first book, Running for Romeo, was amazing and towards the end a huge twist got thrown in. You can't help but want to throw the book out the window, literally. I hated having to sit around and wait for the next book because I HAD to know what happened next. I was really hoping to not have another huge cliffhanger and I am glad to say there wasn't one in this book.

This book ended in a way that you could accept it as finished and be happy with it, but there was also a couple things that made it to where you were able to see another book come as well. There is so much that happens in this book that all comes to the surface at the end. When it comes to the twist at the end of this book, all I can say is wow. I never expected what to happen at the end, but I am so proud of Emilia and how strong she truly is.

Logan in this book, as well as the last book, makes me melt. I want a Logan of my own, that's for sure. I love how you get to see him develop and find out who he truly is and what he truly wants for his life. I am definitely Team Logan and I will forever be. This is definitely a book that can help you see that everyone out there, and yes I mean everyone, makes mistakes. Some mistakes might be worse than others, but that person should be given the chance to show you they learned from it.

I have no complaints on this book as I did the other book. It ended giving me a smile on my face and I ended up going to sleep that night dreaming of how the story would continue. I'm hoping there is another book on the way that will finalize everything and give me my fairy tale happy ending :)

“Parting is such sweet sorrow..."

Yes, that sums my feeling after reading this sequel. My heart is still with Romeo.

This book really brings so much emotions. I can't even think of words to describe how much i love this second book.
Here are some that i can give:
- because of the Shakespearean vibe and quotes. <3 <3
- the music and bands that match the scenes.
-The sweet conversations Logan and Emilia have. These two are just so adorable!
- Bryn, Chloe - I wish i could have girlfriends like them. I am sure we will punch every bitch on our way hahahaha!
- Tyler - i hope we can know some inside stories from him. (another book maybe? :))

Most especially because the author
Diane Mannino
IS SUCH A GREAT PERSON.

She is so sweet to all of the fans of her books, and that's why i have good energy to read and re-read all her books and follow her quest as an author.

This book will be on my shelf of favorites. :)

I love you Logan Prescott! Oh Emilia King your such a lucky girl to be wooed by a Romeo. <3
Definitely I will read this sequel and never get tired of this two gorgeous people. :)

Let's be honest, if he had gone further than the lap dance I doubt I would be singing his praises right now..

HOWEVER.
He really truly redeems himself in this book in my eyes. He clears up his act getting rid of the two foul S's in his life along with drugs, and really shows that he is willing to do whatever it takes to get her back.

Great book, if you stopped at the first book definitely grab this.. he will change your mind!

I absolutely love this series! I'm a big fan on Diane.. And as someone who reads hundreds of books a year (photographic memory) I can honestly say one of the best I've read! I hope there is another in the works to tie up the loose ends though! Good book!

Ok.. where to begin? I finished this book a few hours ago and my mind is still jumbled with all of the details and developments in the storyline.

Let's start with the positives...
1. I didn't hate the storyline as a whole. It wasn't one of those stories that lack depth or a backstory. It was interesting enough to keep me reading.

2. I like Emilia. She is a strong heroine that has overcome much from her past, and you find yourself rooting for her, wanting her to be happy.

Now the issues I had with this book.
1. Bryn's attitude - As a survivor of sexual abuse, I understand why Emilia has a hard time trusting men and feeling comfortable around them. Why was Bryn being so pushy at the beginning of this novel? She KNEW that Emilia was dealing with the aftermath of being raped and she understood that she had to take baby steps to even get comfortable around Logan, so why was she all for, "Just get a new boyfriend?" If I knew my BFF suffered in the manner that Emilia had, I would definitely NOT be pushing her to jump into another relationship. I understand that people need to deal with their issues, but you can't force them to do so. She should have been more supportive of Emilia and not so judgmental.
2. The fast pace of the reunion. I just didn't feel like there was much effort put into saying, "I am sorry, I was a douche, let me make it up to you." I feel like Logan just spends outrageous amounts of money and Emilia accepts whatever he throws her way.
3. WAY too many loose ends here. I understand cliffhangers, but these were just loose ends. We went from constantly dealing with Sebastian and Seraphina to the professor. Nobody mentioned anything pertaining to those two anywhere near the end. They happen to be major storyline points considering they are two of the main issues in Logan and Emilia's relationship.
4. Maybe I am just looking for something else altogether, but I wanted more out of the relationships in the book. I wanted people to be talking, expressing themselves, sharing moments. I felt like most of the so-called BFF/relationship moments revolved around alcohol and partying. What happened to sitting down and having a "real" conversation with those that you care about. Just talking about your day, how you are feeling, etc. I don't need someone pushing drinks at me and telling me what I should be doing and how I should be doing it. I want someone to listen to me. Call me crazy, but I just wanted to hear more about how they felt and less about what they were going to wear to what place.

I know it seems like I didn't like the book because of the lists above, but I did like it. It just wouldn't be something I pick up again unfortunately.

Waiting For Romeo is the sequel to the deliciously intoxicating Running From Romeo. I've been anxiously awaiting this book since I devoured it's predecessor. And I wondered, could Diane deliver a sequel as good as the first? The answer? Diane definitely can.

In, the first book we get a very real look into the mind of a survivor. This book is no different. However it focuses less on what Emilia's overcome and, rather, how she continues to move on.

Emilia, as always, is a wonderful character. She's a very real character. She isn't perfect, but she's inspiring. She keeps going, she's self aware, and she's got a good heart. I really liked that we saw more of the kind of person that she is.

Bryn is a character I've heard a lot of people fuss over. I'm stating now that, not only do I love Bryn, I have many friends who act just like her. Bryn isn't wishy washy. She's concerned about her best friend. She loves Emilia and she's protective. Emilia is head over heels for Logan. Bryn has to navigate that. She can't dump all over the relationship. She can warn her, but if one of your friend's significant others did something sweet for them, you can't deny you'd gush a little too. She's a fierce and loyal lady. And I have to say that 'cunt punt' is a very interesting concept.

Logan...oh how I adore your resolve and your follow through. I just wish we had seen more of his backstory. I wish we'd seen more of Logan as a person. We see him through his love for Emilia, but we don't get to see him past that. I would really love for there to be another book where Emilia deals with the fallout from this book and we find out how Logan received and overcame his demons.

I have to say that I'm very thankful that it took Emilia a long time to trust Logan enough to be intimate. I feel like it was a definite nod of respect to survivors. At no point is Emilia's trauma ever trivialized. That is done too much in society today. I was relieved this wasn't portrayed in the book.

Overall it's a great book. I would have love to see more depth though. The plot moved at this breakneck pace. It left me breathless and I'm surprised Margaret (my NOOK) doesn't have a cracked screen from how quickly I tried to turn the pages.

In the end, Waiting For Romeo is full of romance, great dialogue, conniving psuedo-villians, real villians, and the antics of 'of age' (as in over 21) college students. The twists are great and the foreshadowing is wonderful. I can't wait to see what Diane does next. Perhaps one more book in the Romeo series Diane?

Okay So this is the sequel to RFR and I gotta say I freaking loved it... The drama was way more intense than the prequel and the angst drove me a little nuts but I lived and I am gonna try and write this with as little spoilers as I can...lol. Let's start with Logan @ first he was an annoying cheating scumbag then I fell for him again after all his not so subtle ass kissing I liked him way more in this book. Bryn she is still that awesome ass BFF that we all need in our lives and I loved her little theme song lets see who can guess what it means "Lick it, Slam it, Suck it" Totally not what I though at first I just started singing it it's kinda catchy...lol. Now on to the lovely Emilia I wanted her to seriously nut punch Logan at first, but as I read along that feeling went away slowly but really I wanted her to grow a vagina (cuz ya know those things can take a pounding...lol)and show Seraphina who was boss after her and logan got back together especially as far as the drama that Sebastian and Seraphina (AKA The girl w/ big tits or Slytherin according to Rosemary...lol) caused anyway back Psycho 1 & 2 well I wanted to whoop their asses in RFR well I wanted to do way more damage in WFR (I still need back up who's with me)these 2 F*cktards really know how to piss a girl off I mean the shit they did was like straight up We belong in the looney bin obsessive like I really think they were in love with Logan well at least one of them. Lastly that MUTHAF*CKIN Twist at the end well I didn't see it comin @ all I damn near fell of my couch and then preceded to cry and root for Emilia and because she is so awesome I got my HEA although I felt like some major issues were left unanswered I still loved the book and who knows maybe there will be a part 3.THE END

**Waiting for Romeo is the follow up to Running from Romeo by Diane Mannino. Book 1 should be read before Book 2.**

When we left Emilia and Logan, life was a huge cluster. It was not looking good for our hero and heroine. Needless to say, as soon as I was done with Running from Romeo I immediately started reading Waiting for Romeo. I’m so glad that I did because the book brings us up to speed on what has happened with our heartbroken characters.

I enjoyed watching Emilia and Logan figure out how to come together again and not ignore their connection. As much as I liked Bryn in Running from Romeo, I didn’t like her in Waiting for Romeo. To me, she was pushier and not looking out for Emilia’s best interests in this book. That may just be the way I see it though.

There is a little mystery and suspense in this follow up, along with sweet romance and some sexy scenes. I honestly didn’t have a clue who was causing the issues with Emilia, and when I say issues, I mean who really had it out for her. ;) I thought it was one person, then figured it was someone else. Diane Mannino kept me guessing throughout the story.

This is such a great follow up to Running from Romeo and I’d love to see more books from this author. As with Running from Romeo, I appreciated Diane's storytelling ability and the way she kept me hooked reading until way past bedtime.

Thanks for ARC Irresistible Reads Book Tour and diane! Looking foward to read this :D

[Edited]

Finally the second book out, after major cliffy from book 1 and anxiously waiting this book to released. And oh men, this book not dissapointed me. You rock dianne!

Im really glad to see emilia fight back, i mean shes not giving up willingly and she make logan working hard to trust her again. At first i was thinking if please let emilia have relationship to tyler. But all the rentless "im going to get your trust again" from logan make me swoon for him again... All the sweet poem and even suddenly appear at her father house :D

The story really got me shocked! Heck i never thinking that! I have my suspissions but clearly i got the wrong person :O
So twisted!

And im huge fan of bryn, i wanted her as my bestfriend! Such a funny and smart lady.

I really like the ending. Such a sweet ending.. No cliffy Yeay! I recommended this book for everyone who love sweet story

Cannot wait to read another book from your diane :D

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review! When I first started to read this sequel I wanted to hate Logan. After reading Running From Romeo I was heart broken for Emilia and I was worried that she would let Logan right back in. I love that in this book she stood up for herself and makes Logan work for her trust.

Logan surprised me in this book. He had such sweet words and love for Emilia. I couldn't hate him even if I tried.

Towards the middle of the book I thought I had figured out what the twist in the book was going to be... But I was TOTALLY WRONG! I read so many books that it is rare for me to not be right about a plot twist.

I love how much we get to know the other characters in the book. I absolutely need a best friend like Bryn. I would love to read another story involving Bryn and Chloe.

Overall I thought this was an AMAZING sequel. It definitely healed the broken heart I felt after finishing Running From Romeo. I can't wait to see what Diane does next!!

Well once again I loved the characters and I enjoyed the story more this time. The book is much shorter and there is no cliffhanger but I can see there being a third book. I would even like to read a third book about the gang. My issue with the first book and all the lyrics is gone. There are some lyrics but not full or half songs that I had to read. There is a faster pace so it doesn't feel like it is dragging on and that I like. I really enjoyed this one and hope to read more from Ms. Mannino has I have seen her grow from the first to this one and I know she will continue to grow as a writer.

Once again Mannino weaves a story that intrigued me from the start. The characters I fell in love with in Running from Romeo, continued to develop in a way that made me intrigued even more. The novel has a bit of everything. Of course the love story is what entices the reader the most, but their romance is set against a backdrop of secrets, the past, and a bit of mystery and suspense. Waiting for Romeo is such an enjoyable read that I am so hopeful to see where the story may lead in book #3. I don't want Emilia and Logan's story to end!

I expected a little bit more of Logan's background story since the first book kind of built up to it. I also felt like everything wasn't explained and revealed. Emilia's traumatic past is used as the base and bomb for this book and in some way I thought it was okay, but I was more interested in Logan's luggage because it seemed like there could be more to it and developed into an interesting storyline.

Overall I thought it wasn't that long as I thought the first book was. Nothing was really repetitive and... the train was in motion all the time in other words.

This contain spoilers from Running from Romeo so don't read this if you haven't read that! And there might also be possible spoilers for Waiting for Romeo.

Since I had finished Running from Romeo, all I ever want to do was to read the sequel. When I received the review copy, I immediately sent it to my Kindle and started reading it right away. I didn't stop till I was finished. See? I'm that hooked!

Just when I thought it couldn't get any better. Oh hey, hold that thought! I know Diane has the talent and that Waiting for Romeo will be explosive. Well, it totally was. Diane's writing was so easy, simple and powerful.

Waiting for Romeo started a few weeks after Running from Romeo. So yes, it left us hanging with Emilia catching Seraphina and Logan in an unlikely behavior and with Logan being all that drugged-up guy. It was heartbreaking. TOTALLY WAS. Imagine yourself surprising your boyfriend then it turns out you're the one being surprised with him being back in his old ways when he promised he won't. Ever. Again. I swear I want to throw my Kindle. And it bothered me everyday thinking what's going to happen to Emilia and Logan. Just as I mentioned in my review for RfR, I wholeheartedly love those two! So even if it was heart-wrenching, I was hoping for the best for them.

Now going back to WfR, three weeks have passed since the "incident" happened and neither Emilia nor Logan can call it quits. Emila might be putting up distance but she sure knew that it wasn't even really an option. She knew it in her heart that it'll always be Logan. I actually liked how Emilia was so firm in her decision not to take Logan immediately that it even made me dislike Logan a few times. He was so persistent to the point that it was annoying. Seriously. Why cannot he respect Emilia's decision? Then I realized that Emilia wants Logan to win her back anyway. You know, deep inside, Emilia wanted that. Of course, she wouldn't actually acknowledge it. She'll deny it all along because she doesn't want to get hurt. Again. But love works in mysterious ways and she just can't run away from it. I love her plan with Logan. Though I guess her plan was really just a bonus because she knew she'll be taking Logan back anyway. Maybe some of you will think that it was so unwise for her to be back with Logan even after what happened. But you see, it's different when you're in love. Emilia felt worse without Logan than being with Logan. I know you have to be rational but there will always be bumpy roads in a relationship. Emilia realized that she'd rather take the chances than regret it and she also saw how Logan was so so so sorry. And despite me getting annoyed with Logan at times, I am so thankful he was that persistent. Even then, I knew their love will still be put into tests.

Emilia and Logan grew closer. Just when they were learning things about each other, I learned too. What happened to Emilia when she was a kid was really unforgivable. It was nasty. But it was because of Logan that she learned how to come out of her shell and be brave. It was so evident on how her character grew from that strong yet fearful girl in RfR to this brave woman in WfR. She probably won't ever take back Logan if she didn't grow here. I have a fluttering feeling in my heart knowing how much Emilia have gone through and yet she's still standing strong. Of course, Logan too changed. And hey, with him always following and taking care of Emilia, I've learned what he was doing when he wasn't on a scene. I felt his presence anywhere. I saw how he was that changed man when he met Emilia. I can't even blame him for what happened. Things happen but that doesn't mean we'll be back there again. I just love Logan, okay?

I hate to dislike characters but I sorta want to punch Bryn. I know she was just looking out for Emilia but I wish she could have let her choose for her life. She forced Emilia in a lot of things. Honestly, it was a little unhealthy already. But hey, I understood her so we're still good!

I'm not yet finished because there's still more! Just when Emilia and Logan thought they'd be happy living with each other already, things happened. Let me just say that it involved Sebastian and Seraphina. I want to slap those two. So evil. But there was more. There was a twist in the latter part and I'm pretty sure you won't want me to say it. I sorta saw that coming. I know! I'm such a guarded person so I observe every character with scrutiny. I always think of why this character is doing this or that. And really! I got the vibe from that character. Creepy!!!

Yet, the story ended on a good note. I'm hoping to read more about these two in the future. I want to see Emilia walking down the aisle. Heee. Just thinking about it makes me smile.

Before I forget, thank you Diane for including me in the acknowledgements! You know you always have my support, lovely lady! I've told you this already but I definitely love your writing style and I'm pretty sure you'll go a long way. And of course, I love you! ;)

Waiting for Romeo is an amazing follow-up for Running from Romeo. Easy to read, explosive twists, powerful writing and a love that goes beyond!

I received Waiting for Romeo through Irresistible Reads in exchange for an honest review.

I'm happy to report that some of the things that bothered me about Running from Romeo aren't an issue in Waiting for Romeo. This is a shorter book, which is a good thing. It allows for a tighter, faster-paced story with less repetition. Running from Romeo dragged for a good portion of the book; Waiting for Romeo doesn't. Something is always happening, and there's a lot of action near the end of the book involving twist that I didn't see coming. I knew something was up; I just didn't know what it was.

Full song lyrics have been dropped in favor of shorter snippets. I think the longest one was only a little over a page but most are only a few lines. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with as many of the songs in Waiting for Romeo as I was in Running from Romeo.

And finally, the overuse of the word giggle, which I know was a major issue in some of the reviews, has been dialed way, WAY back! There are only 25 uses of giggle/giggles in Waiting for Romeo.

If you've read my review of Running from Romeo, you'll know that I didn't like Logan very much. Upon first starting Waiting for Romeo, I was worried. He's very, very pushy about getting Emilia back, almost to the point of stalker-like behavior. Fortunately that doesn't last long and he lets up once Emilia forgives him. By the middle of the book, I found myself actually liking Logan. I think it's the Valentine's Day date that put me over the edge. It's a very thoughtful date and I can tell Logan knows Emilia very well and knows that she will love it.

Emilia's best friend and roommate Bryn is back, of course, as are Sam and Rosemary, Emilia's bosses at the surf shop. I really like that Emilia has a good support system -- and she needs one! She also makes a new friend, Chloe, in one of her classes. Chloe serves a dual purpose as both an addition to Emilia's friends group and someone who is able to keep tabs on Logan's ex Seraphina, through a class that she shares with Seraphina. Seraphina is, as always, up to no good!

Waiting for Romeo doesn't end on a cliffhanger the way Running From Romeo did, but I still think there's potential for another book. Waiting for Romeo ends at spring break (March) and I'm hoping to read about Emilia and Logan (and Bryn and the rest!) through graduation and as they start their post-college lives.

2.5 stars rounded to 3

I reviewed this at MustReadBooksOrDie with my friend Shelley!

Court: We read the first book by Diane, Running From Romeo, last year and generally had mixed feelings about it. And while I did like Waiting For Romeo better overall than the first book...I still am not in the place I was expecting once I was finished. Shel: Agreed, Courtney.

Court: The parts that were better. Let's start there. I did like Logan a little bit better. Okay, maybe a teensy bit. I love that he quotes Shakespeare as much as the next person, but it was a teensy bit OTT...and OTT isn't always a good thing (aka, over-the-top). I did like that he grew up and fixed his shit with his loyalty to crazy man Sebastian and his crazier sister Seraphina. I liked Bryn better this time around as well...okay, I liked Bryn when she stopped being outrageously bitchy at about 20% in. That girl could try the patience of a saint, but her heart is in the right place...and that is clear, albeit eventually. Shel: I definitely liked Logan much better; he seemed sincere in his efforts to clean up his act and his persistence in wooing Emilia back was laudable. Bryn, on the other hand...gah. She was annoying as hell. And Sebastian and Seraphina can suck it. Period.

Court: The main issue that hung me up with Waiting For Romeo is the pace. The pace is s-l-o-w. With a cast of college students who namely go to work, the bar, and do homework that was a challenge for me. I needed more action...and was pleased at the end when we do get some. At the end of the day I am happy to know how this story ends, but unfortunately it will not be high on my recommendation list because of the pace, and the questions about Sebastian's plot line that we are left with. Shel: I, too, had issues with pacing--the end happened so quickly and the beginning was a slow starter for me.

Courtney: 2 1/2 stars
Shelley: 2 1/2 stars

ARC Was Given To Blog For An Honest Review

Well I dove right into this after reading Running from Romeo and I’m so glad I did. We pick up right where they left off with Emilia and Logan both completely broken. One destined to protect her heart and the other determined to win the heart back of his destiny. It doesn’t take long for them to fall back into each other. Like I said before one is not whole without the other. This journey takes us through a process of healing and trusting your heart. Forgiveness is the key to letting go and moving on. Emilia has always had trust issues but she’s finally decided that she must follow her heart. It’s not an easy task for Logan she makes him work for it. He’s determined to show her their love is worth the chance. Once again his past has shown up and tries to work against them. Her past has decided it needs another go at her as well. It was one thing after another with these two. One would think the universe didn’t want them together. It takes an almost tragic event for Emilia to realize the only place she truly feels safe is in the arms of Logan Prescott. But will it be enough for them to have their happily ever after? I’m so excited to see what the next book brings.
Exciting new straight from the author. THERE WILL BE MORE BOOKS IN THIS SERIES.I was so drawn into the books I can't wait for the next one. I loved the characters and there chemistry. All the twist and turns kept me on the edge. I was so afraid of what was going to happen next. Thanks again for the start if a great series looking forward to more in the future .

Ga sabar nunggu lanjutannya.... 

Looooved this series and everyone else that gave this story 4 or 5 stars pretty much summed up everything I would have said so I'm not going to repeat, but I do have one question that is bugging me: what happened to Dr. Seth Milton aka Michael Hughes?! Did they catch him? Was justice served? And his daughter? Where is she? What happened to her? Ok, that's more than one question, but it was about the same subject. For a moment I almost thought Chloe was the daughter and had maybe had something to do with it. I mean, really, everyone's on high alert and when she said she'll be right outside waiting for Emilia she's not around?! Yeah, great friend there.

Ughhh...yeah, got a bit frustrated for a second thinking about it but that's just cause I loved the book and just want answers. Lol. Looking forward to reading more from Diane Mannino.
