Five years later, Vann is back. While her day job is kept secret from most, the threat it poses throws her entire world off balance, putting her and those closest to her in danger.

Deke Sullivan’s life has been in a tailspin ever since his brother’s death. Everyone in his life has either betrayed or left him, making him who he is today. But behind his tough persona is still the man that craves the woman who left him all those years ago. One look into those blue-gray eyes sends his heart into overdrive, anger pulsating through him.

Can Deke move past the hurt? Will what became of Vann's life after she left cause greater tragedy? Can first love prevail?

Savannah, affectionately called Vann had to leave behind her child hood friends and boyfriend when her mother decided to move away from their Alabama hometown due to heartbreak. Not realizing that in doing so caused her own daughters heart to break in to a million pieces as she leaves behind her first love, Deke Sullivan.

It’s been five years since Vann left town and now she’s back.

Even though her sudden departure was out of her own hands Deke can’t see past the hurt. Couple it with his brother’s death and 5 years later it makes for one angry alpha male. Deke is an ex-cop, he now owns a bar and is a complete man-whore. Albeit a HOT man-whore, who seems to not be able to get the names of his many female companions correct. Example in one of my fave scenes below

“Keep going, sweetheart,” I forced out as she began to slow down. Tammy … Tina … Tracy … whoever the hell it was down on her knees in front of me was sucking my cock like a champ. -Deke

Spotting a hot chick dancing with friends at his bar puts Deke on edge. And without even knowing it, seeing Vann again does something to Deke. He is attracted to her on an almost primal level.
And once they come her face to face…and he finally recognizes the hot blonde as Vann..

 photo gifforlust_zps67ded1e1.gif

All his emotions seem to come rushing forward.

‘ I wanted to suck five years of missed kisses, time, and everything I lost the day she left, out of her.’ -Deke

And then he says something fueled by anger that I didn’t see coming and it left me sitting there screaming WHHHAAAAT? at my kindle.

Both he and Vann made mistakes that could have easily prevented the pent up anger Deke feels. But of course he is to damn stubborn to see it that way. Nope, he blames Vann.

'With Deke sitting so close, I could feel the tension coming off his body.’ -Vann

Lust and anger can be a crazy combination. Unfortunately this combo causes Deke to do and say some pretty stupid things that really
really
pissed me off. And although Vann can understand why he is upset she is not going to just sit back and take his crap.

As these two try to figure out what it will be like to once again be around one another now that Vann is back...danger is busy creeping around the edges and searching for a way in.

My Thoughts
This book has a few twists that are unnerving. Overall I like this story, there is a certain aspect to Vann’s character that I loved but left out so you’ll have to read to find out what it is. Ryan Michele gave fun and witty secondary characters that people will easily fall for in Sawyer, Kinsley and Z.
The writing was fair, this is Ryan Michele’s second novel and I definitely see potential and I look forward to more of her work.

My Ratings
Characters- Witty and Sexy
Writing Style- Fair and told in dual pov's
Plot/Storyline- Reunited lovers, with a lurking danger
Steam Factor- High/Steamy on a scale of 1-10 I say 8
Overall- I liked it! And I recommend to those looking for a quick read, that is steamy with a little mystery.

Now go forth and read. Then come tell us about it on Goodreads!

This was a story about second chances and forgiveness. Two young lovers separated by circumstances beyond their control. Deke was hurt when Savannah left him behind and as a young troubled teenager he let that hurt turn him into a love them and leave them playboy. Savannah turned her anguish into a career of writing erotic romance. Once Deke got Savannah back in his arms he wasn't gonna let her go again. Savannah wanted Deke forever and he came through when she needed him. Savannah was tough when it counted and all I can say is I'm glad I wasn't the villain in this story...Savannah doesn't play when she's pissed! Suspense, action and hot passion burned the pages in this entertaining read.
I enjoyed it and will continue this series. I want to know more about the awesome secondary characters and what is in store for them. ((** I want more Z***)

4 star review by Jen Skewes

Right before her senior year Vann's mother forced her to leave town and move to California. Leaving behind not only her Grams, and her two best friends, but also Deke Sullivan, the love of her life. It wasn't her choice to move and she even went as far as to try to convince her mother to let her live with her grandmother. But in the end guilt won and she had no choice but to go along with her mother. She didn't know how to tell the boy that she loved that she was leaving so what did she do? She wrote him a letter. Yes she left him behind and the only thing she gave him was a letter explaining her reasons for just picking up and leaving. She tried to keep in contact with him after she left but Deke made no effort to get in touch with her. No phone calls, no texts, no letters and no email.

Deke had just lost his brother and his parents basically ignored him after that tragic incident. Vann was the only person who understood him, understood what he needed and she loved him no matter what. But one day she left and Deke still couldn't understand why. He was in love with her and needed her in so many ways and she just left. He knew that it was her mother who made her leave, he just couldn't understand why she went along with it. At that point he is convinced that anyone he loves will just leave him, so he turns into a man whore. He sleeps with any willing participant and generally only sleeps with them once. There are only a select few who have the pleasure of sleeping with him more than one time. He doesn't do relationships, he certainly doesn't do love. He tried that once and look what happened. But what happens when the one person that you ever loved, suddenly shows up in your life again?

Vann left at a time when Deke needed her the most. And now that she is back in town his anger and hurt over the past five years start to take over his emotions. The feelings that he once had for Vann are still there deep down inside and she still does things to him that no other woman has ever done. But he is so hurt by what happened then he tends to turn into a complete jerk. His feelings for her at the moment are both love, lust and anger. The anger being the one to take over. Just when Vann thinks everything is right in the world again, that her and Deke are going to be able to move forward from the past, he opens his big mouth again and ruins the moment completely. While Vann understood his anger and hurt, especially given all that he has gone through in his past, his words an actions still hurt. And she wan't about to let him get away with it. Will Deke ever be able to forgive Vann for leaving him and move past the hurt? Will they get a second chance at love.

I loved this story. I honestly loved Deke despite his ability to be a complete ass at times. He was definitely sexy and had moments where was sweet and caring and you knew deep down how he really felt about Vann. What I honestly did love about this book was that their first encounter after 5 years wasn't all roses and perfect. There were so many emotions involved. You could see that deep down these two still loved each other and the chemistry between them was evident, but it was their passion and anger that fueled their actions and words. There is honestly more to this story than meets the eye. There are a few twists and turns along the way that will completely surprise you. I mean like "Wow I never saw that one coming" surprise you. Wanting You is a quick, light read with a few surprises along the way. I loved the secondary characters that were Vann best friends. You could not have better best friends than Sawyer and Kinsley. And I would love to see more of them in the future. I think my only issue was that their story ended. I want more of Deke and Vann.

Deke is a bad boy/bar owner/local band's guitar player/ undercover ex-cop since he's been kicked off of the force/control freak especially when it comes to the aspects of his life where he's been given the wrong cards before.
One of them being that of carrying the guilt of his brother's death or being broken hearted, disappointed and untrusting after Vann's disappearance over five years ago.

And as most of healthy, young, hot men he's hiding his true feelings with the use of a whole lot of meaningless sex with every woman who looks his way, digesting the anger, hurt and pain from years ago inside of him.
Past disappointments made him turn into the man he is now, but he's never been the same since.

Then Vann comes back home.

Now five years later, Vann is back.
Savannah (Vann) Kelly aka Gabriella Daniels, moved away from her hometown of Alabama in her junior year of high school to California with her mother.
Because of her father’s infidelity, her mother forced her to leave everything and everyone behind, including her friends, skipping saying goodbye to Deke, her high school sweetheart.

Her day job as an erotica writer is now kept secret from most of the world, besides her childhood friends, for the safety reasons as she's receiving very explicit letters, pictures from one of her readers.

There are some twists in the plots that might shock you not to mention some of the hot scenes between the main characters.
But the questions prevail:
Can Deke move past the hurt, disappointment and heartbreak and forgive Vann for leaving him before? And Vann...will her writing career end in tragedy? Will they both be able to move past it all?

Wanting You is a well written story of two people who were hurt by the ones they love, trying to forgive and overcome all the curve balls life has thrown at them.

There were so many things wrong with this book. The major one was the inconsistencies & lack of real story.

***SPOILERS***
Vann leaves California to go back to her hometown. She briefly mentions the mother but the mother never again makes an appearance. Her mom was very pushy about them leaving when she was younger. She gave Vann no other choice by making ridiculous comments to cause guilt. But now she had nothing to say about Vann leaving her & going back home?

There was no real resistance when Deke & Vann reunite. I liked that Vann didn't stand for his crap & called him out on his whole "getting her out of his system" thing. They were at each other & then moved on quick. For something that caused so much hurt where they both stewed in it for 5 years, it sure got let go easy. And they picked up where they left off.

The whole thing with being so calm & collected over the father's new family was ridiculous. I have so much more to say about that but I'll just leave it at that. Ridiculous!

And then the situation with the car accident & Z telling Deke that there was so much blood all over. But then when we're reading what's going on with her, there is no mention of any injuries & her actions show that she's unharmed from the accident. What???

She's then grossly raped by her stepbrother who's obsessed with her, which her Dad put the idea (somewhat) in "Gary's" head in order to scare her off of writing smut. After she gets rescued within weeks she's all bent because Deke won't touch her?! Dude, you were raped & humiliated & experienced something traumatic & you get bent over him wanting to give you space so that you're ok? No no no.

And then it just ends... very, very disappointing.

It was alright. But this:
“Where are you going?” Deke’s voice boomed.
“None of your damn business.” Fuck him, like I had to explain myself to him.
“My dick in you less than ten minutes ago says it’s my business.”
...was a too predictable and familiar alpha line, or well... I've seen that line done better, among other things. And though there were flashbacks to give background on the H and h, their characters were cardboard cutouts of ones I've seen before. Nothing special.

For a quick read that's a little dramatic and enjoyable enough as a quick, level 3.5-steam romance, it was okay.

Savannah (Vann) Kelly’s life was uprooted the summer after her junior year of High School and forced to move from her small town in Alabama to California. Not only was she leaving the only place she had ever called home but she was leaving behind her best friends Sawyer and Kinsley and the love of her life Deke Sullivan. She couldn’t bare to say goodbye to him so she wrote him a note trying to explain and asking him to keep in touch.

Deke Sullivan has just suffered the death of his younger brother. His parents aren’t speaking to him and now the girl he loves has left him a Dear John letter. Life can’t get any worse. Convinced that everyone he cares about will eventually abandon him, he becomes a man whore, wham, bam and not even a thank you ma’am. He refuses to get close to anyone but his best friend Z.

Five years later Vann is moving back to her home town and hoping to pick things up with Deke again. She knows it’s been a long time and they never did keep in touch, but no other man has ever compared to her first love. Vann is also dealing with some issues revolving around her occupation which may put her life in danger. Can she convince Deke that she didn’t want to leave him? Will Deke ever be able to forgive the girl that left him just when he needed her most? This book hooked me in and wouldn’t let me go. It is a passionate story of first love lost but also has an edge of danger and mystery to it. Towards the end as things are starting to wrap up there is a plot twist that knocked off my reading chair, I mean WOW, I did NOT see that coming!

I enjoyed this book and finished it in less than 24 hours. I will definitely look for the second book in this series and give this one 4.5 stars.

Savannah "Vann" is forced to move away from her home town and her boyfriend it breaks her heart. But years later she comes back into town and in contact with Deke. The boy she left behind. But he is not a boy anymore. He a man who has become harden by her departure years earlier and his brother death.

But after the first night of seeing each other after years being apart everything comes back and with passion. This two feel more than what they once had. Its hard, passion and little hurt from the past. But with each step the move forward they take a few back in there relationship.

Even there passion flying between these two it really a story about second chances at true love. Deke now having Vann back in his life he not letting her go and Vann is a women who doent take shit but she does want Deke forever.

But just like a second chance love story there are moments of tension, of twist in their relationship. But it comes down to it can Vann love be enough for Deke to forgive the past and let his pain turned into happiness.

Passion, love found again and plot twist what else do you want? Did I say these two are hot!!!

Nothing original about this one. Had all the right ingredients, alpha male, damsel in distress, second chance love... It just felt like overall, despite the steam, it was written for a younger reader. Just okay.

Feelings

This book gives you all the feelings. The youth struggles between a young couple and then the after math of it. Then the struggles and feelings in adulthood. This book is a great read and a little dark but not too bad.

I actually gave this 3.5 stars - honestly it leans towards 3 stars but that's not a bad thing!!!

I was pleasantly surprised by Wanting You. The story, I thought, was unique. Our leading lady, Savannah “Vann” is an indie author who writes erotica. Deke, is an ex-cop turned bar owner who refuses to settle down because he’s convinced that everyone he loves will leave him. Throw in a crazy stalker, some girlfriends, a horny male cousin, and you have a basis for a decent story.

I appreciated the authors attempt to steer away from what has become the typical plot line these days, she has a hidden past full of secrets, he has a hidden past full of darker secrets, and a book full of angst and sexy times. Not Ryan Michele. She takes something that indie readers, bloggers, and other authors can relate too. Vann is an author writing under a pen name with the hopes that her friends and family don’t find out her embarrassing secret. She writes erotica and apparently really well as she’s published several books, I think it was 17 and only been out of college one year. Only a very select few know what she does. She hoped to keep it that way.

Deke is her long lost love. Vann was forced to leave him before her Senior year at high school. Even though she leaves him a letter explaining her quick departure, he cuts off all ties to her. No emails, no texts, no letters, no contact at all. Vann of course is devastated. She’s gone for 5 years before returning to Alabama. There were definitely things I liked about Deke. He was not bashful about his wants, needs, or desires and he took without remorse. In an asshole sort of way it was sexy. It was obvious he was hiding under a bunch of hurt feelings. With his brother’s death and Vann’s abandonment I understood his hurt feelings.

I also appreciated the stalker aspect. It was different and I love different. I found myself totally shocked at the end when all was revealed. I honestly had no clue.

So why 3.5 stars you ask?

I found both Vann and Deke immature. Their reasoning for not contacting or attempting contact were very weak. They both forgave and forgot way too fast. In fact Vann was quick to conform whenever faced with confrontation, with the exception of one big fight scene. Whenever, confronted by someone, her friends, her grandmother, Deke, she would clam up or in my opinion concede. As far as Deke was concerned he started out all an alpha, macho, asshole who after one confrontation changed his entire attitude. AND when the threat of a stalker was ever present he allowed Vann to travel alone. It seemed very out of character to me.

The sex.

This is just my opinion but the sex was mediocre at best. I felt like the scenes were on loop with only locations changing. I found this disappointing mainly because Vann was an erotica author. I kept waiting for her kinky side to show up. I wanted that pivotal sexy scene that would change the entire depth of the book. Instead it was like wash, rinse, repeat except here it would be,

eat

blow

fuck

My only other critique is that Vann goes home to Alabama yet at one point Deke is putting on a Georgia State police vest. In another scene Deke is getting a blow job and at first it was his cock and then changed to his dick. Not a big deal I know but I’m big on continuity. Minor spelling errors I will overlook. Continuity always stands out to me.

This was my first Ryan Michele book and I won’t say it will be my last. It was obvious to me that she has some great ideas and the ability to tell a good story. I see definite room for growth, which for me would make me want to keep reading her books.

Reclaiming the life that was taken from you as a child is never easy, but this is what Vann decided she must do. After completing college and becoming a successful author, Vann packs up her car and go home. She is returning to her two best friends, her Grandmother whom she adores and to Deke, the love of her life that she was forced to leave as a teenager. She had no idea what she was going to face once she got there, but she knew what she was running from in California. The pieces of her life that she knew she needed to put aside, along with a stalker who developed an attraction to Vann and her erotic books that she wrote.

On the outside Deke was a playboy, bar owner, former cop who demanded control over his environment and his emotions. On the inside he was a broken child still carrying the guilt of his brother's death and a broken heart over Vann's disappearance years ago. How does a hot man hide those feelings? He has meaningless sex with every woman who looks his way and shows the anger he has fed for years. Deke knows how to control his behavior most of the time, but when it comes to busting the man who gave his mother drugs that eventually killed her, he loses his battle with his control. He thought that was the only thing that could break him, until he looked across the crowd as he was on stage singing and saw her. Vann had come home.

As with her last book, this author is the queen of OMG shocking moments. She brings you not only into the story, but she twists and turns your heart and gut to the point you are left gasping for air. Vann has a stalker and she knows this, but she thinks she has hidden herself enough to be safe. The author shows us that not only is Vann mistaken, she is in dire danger and the scene that shows us who the stalker turns out to be is INTENSE. Heart racing, sweat producing, breath stealing intense. Once you have recovered you are then left with a broken heart because never in a million years would you of assumed that was the person out to hurt her.

Deke brought me to my knees as he had to decide if punishing her for leaving him was more important than loving and protecting her from the monster that lurked in the shadows. That was pretty emotional watching him have that internal debate, but there is a scene that Grandma sees the truth and makes him admit it. The author takes a simple key and builds a future around it and I found it endearing and brilliant.

I highly recommend this book, go get it and take the journey of Vann and Deke. The author left us with a lot of questions that I hope she will answer in the next book. You will find Vann as a strong woman who struggles with the need for independence and protection. She wants to reclaim what was taken from her yet she yearns for the love and forgiveness from those she was forced to leave behind. We watch her struggle with accepting the blame for the sins of her mother and the truth behind the shame of her father. Deke has to put his baggage aside and accept that Vann didn't leave by her own will. The hurt and revenge that he has carried his whole life will have to be dealt with. Can he forgive Vann for things she had no control over, will he be able to see the truth and accept that she was a victim as well. Can he stop focusing on HIS own pain so he can see the pain Vann is dealing with? Wonderful book, this author is a rising star in my world.

****ARC PROVIDED IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW****

Savannah (Vann) Kelly moved away from her hometown of Alabama in her junior year of high school to California with her mother. Leaving behind her best friends since childhood Kinsley, Sawyer and Deke her high school sweetheart. Leaving her hometown because of her father’s infidelity, Vann’s mother guilted and forced her to leave everything and everyone in her life behind.

Now five years later, Vann is back her day job is kept secret from most of the world, her mother doesn’t even know the fewer the people know the better for safety reason’s. Vann is also known as Gabriella Daniels her pen name she writes erotic romance. In college she needed an escape she found it in writing and never stopped. Even now three years later she‘s going strong but is also receiving very explicit letters and photos from someone who thinks she does everything in her books. Having her pen name is a way to write and keep her anonymity to a certain extent….. So she thinks it is.

Deke Sullivan is now the owner of a bar Sully’s and guitar player for a local band “Beyond Escape”, an ex police officer who was dismissed from the police force for “conduct unbecoming of an officer”. He’s sexy HOT as hell tough guy with tattoos (who doesn’t love a man with tattoos).

Deke’s life has never been the same since his brother Jaxson's death in his junior year of high school, he blames himself for the death as does his family. Everyone in his life has left him behind leaving him to turn into the man he is now. He’s never recovered from Vann leaving him when he needed her the most in his life, she never said goodbye just left him a….. “Dear John” letter explaining why she was forced to leave everything and everyone behind.

Deke also holds a secret that only his best friend Z knows ….it’s a good secret and I was surprised when I found out.

I’m not one for spoiling a story for the readers I feel you should be surprised for the chain of events that occur…because let me tell you there are several that will shock you they had me saying OMG did that really happen and why would he do this to Vann, this events happen towards the end of the book.

Let me mention there is some HOT sex between Vann and Deke… a shower scene comes to mind. They are meant for one another no one else has ever compared. They are two people who have loved each other since high school and never stopped.

Can Deke move past the hurt and forgive Vann for leaving him all those years ago?

Will Vann’s career choice end in tragedy or will love prevail? Will she be able to forgive her father and move past it?

I enjoyed Wanting You the story was well told and written, kudos to the author Ryan Michele for telling the story of two people who were hurt by there loved ones and able to overcome it.

***As the author mentioned there is a non consensual sexual scene it may offend some of the readers, I was not offended. Once you read it, it will explain why the author felt the need to write it in.***

But deep in my soul it has always been her and would forever be her.

I loved her I always had, no one ever compared to her so I never tried. No reason to when she left my side, she took my heart with her.

~~Meli’s Review~~

We meet Vann on her way home back to Alabama. Coming home she is going to be sharing a house with her childhood friends she had to leave behind all those years ago. She is also looking forward to seeing her first love Deke. But what she doesn't realize is that he might not be happy to see her.

Deke is a owner of a local bar. He is the ultimate playboy. Never plans to settle down and rarely sleeps with the same woman twice. He was hurt many years before by Vann and never wanted to feel that pain again. To him everyone he loves and gets close to leaves. So why bother.

I instantly felt Vann and Deke’s chemistry the moment they laid eyes on each other, and when he kissed her holy hell… HOT… then he opened his mouth and spoke and all I wanted to do was reach through my kindle and smack him. Throughout the story Vann and Deke fight what they truly want, its not until Vann’s life is at stake that Deke realizes she is the only woman he wants and no matter what she his HIS.

“Vann, just remember that, in life, lots of things arent what they seem. Sometimes it takes blind coincidence to pull in your favor. Sometimes it’s pure luck. Other times, it is persistence. Think about what you really want. You never know, this guy could be hiding and not ready to be found quite yet. It could be him and not you.”

I have never been on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who is behind putting Vann’s life at stake and when the author finally showed who they were, man I was so shocked, never saw it coming.

Vann and Deke has to fight for their love, when they finally realize it, is it too late or can Deke save the love of his life?

I give this book 5 AMAZINGLY HUMONGOUS STARS

~ ~Joni's Review~ ~

There isn't a whole lot more that I can say that Meli didn't. We both absolutely loved this book. Once I started reading I couldn't stop. I needed to see Vann and Deke work past what was holding them apart. I needed to know who her stalker was and when he would show up and try to snatch her. Meli got done before so, ya know I HAD to bother her to tell me if I guessed right or not and she just "hmmm'ed" me and wouldn't tell me a thing! I really didn't expect what happened and who was behind it. This is a must read book. The side characters are wonderful and I hope that we see more of them as well as Grams. I absolutely loved Vann's grandmother!!

I also give this book 5 Amazing Humongous Stars!!!

This was a really good read full of angst, anger, hurt, chemistry, lust, passion and a little suspense. Ryan Michele had created a dual POV story with two very strong, witty and interesting characters that suck you in until you learn everything there is to know.

Savannah 'Vann' Kelly left her hometown during senior year of high school unexpectedly and under the instruction of her mother. What she left behind was her Gram, her two awesome best friends Sawyer and Kinsley and the love of her life Deke Sullivan. It's five years later and Vann has come home a changed woman, she is now confident, sexy and secretly a very successful erotica writer. The only thing that hasn't changed are her feelings and want for Deke.

Deke Sullivan is a hot as hell ex-cop who now owns a bar and is a giant man-whore womaniser. Deke is a take no prisoners kind of alpha male who takes what he wants, when he wants without any remorse. But what lies beneath that tough exterior is a guy who was devastated with the loss of his brother and with Vann leaving him. Even though her departure was out of her control, he holds so much hurt and anger towards Vann that he cut off all contact with her until she turns up home in his bar. Once his immediate cloud of lust for Vann clears his anger and frustration rear it's ugly head and we watch him be a complete jerk, acting and saying awful things to Vann.

While Vann can understand that Deke is hurt she isn't about to take his attitude lying down and the sexual tension, passion, lust and anger between them sky rockets to epic proportions. Deke and Savannah both hold secrets of their past and must overcome their hurt, danger lurking from Savannah's secret and many twists and turns, ups and downs to see if they can find a way to love each other and be together.

There were great secondary characters in this story and I especially loved the friendship that Vann, Sawyer and Kinsley had. Ryan Michele has managed to put together a story with group of characters that meshed and worked really well together.

This was an enjoyable read and I look forward to experiencing more of Ryan Michele's work and watching her grow as a writer.

Wanting for You is a story of love lost and love reacquainted. You follow Deke and Savannah. Savannah left Deke and her home town because of her mom. After her dad left them, her mom couldn’t stay. So she spends 5 years trying to deal with everything and her alcoholic mother. So she finally arrives back in town and life is supposed to start back up. Hmmm… I wasn’t a fan of Savannah’s. Maybe because I just didn’t understand her or because I just didn’t like her character. You can tell that she cares for Deke. I wonder why she never wrote him, other than his Dear John letter. She didn’t contact and then expects things to be okay. She is one of those characters that you want to like but you cannot seem to.
Then there was Deke. He was possessive over Savannah, even after he said that they were over. When it comes to women, you can not have your cake and eat it too. You can not say you don’t want them and get mad if someone else does. Then when he finds out about her stalker he steps in like he is going to save the day. Where was he before? It seems that he has a hero complex.
The story it’s self was a good concept but it fell flat for me. The suspense of the book made some sense. An erotic writer being stalked by a reader. That could be a Lifetime movie. The thing that made it take a turn for the worse was when you find out who is behind the stalking. You do a double take and go “huh?”. When you go back and try to put the pieces of the puzzle back together, this conclusion doesn’t make sense. I don’t want to divulge who was behind it. Read the book and you’ll find out.
Michele is a great writer but I think this is not her greatest book. I loved everything else she has written and was surprised once I got to read this one. I had hoped for a more interesting storyline but it wasn’t the case. She does a good job in transitioning from present day to flashbacks. You don’t get lost in the shuffle with them. Overall her writing is good but the story not so much. This doesn’t deter me from her books. I am still a huge fan.
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This has to be every author's worst nightmare........

Savannah or Vann as she likes to be referred to was forced by her mother to move away from the only people that mattered while she was in high school. Now that she is a successful author she has decided to return 'home' back to her two best friends, hergram and the one boy who she never forgot.

Deke is use to loss. He never imagined having to lose Vann though. She had always been his one solid rock through all the struggles. One day he gets home to a letter stating she had to leave... of course, he is angry and mostly devastated. How do you cope when you lose the one person that means the most to you?

The connection between Deke and Vann is amazing. You can feel it from the moment they finally lay eyes on each other again after 5 years of being apart. They aren't the same teenagers anymore and have been trying to fill a void that left them both empty when Vann was moved to California. Deke isn't aware that Vann is moving back so of course when he sees her there is anger there from feeling abandoned all those years ago. He could have handled the situation better because you know deep down how much he cares for her.

Their story is full of ups and downs. There is amazing chemistry and passion between them but at the same time there is so much hurt from the past that feelings gets mixed. On top of that, Vann is hiding a secret that will eventually be revealed. Needless to say I wasn't expecting all the 'players in the game' to be who they were.

This book was enjoyable, well written and I loved their story.... definitely would read again.

Second-chance romance involving a creepy stalker...Deke felt betrayed by Savannah’s desertion two months after the loss of his brother. Savannah in her defense was coerced into leaving by her selfish, manipulative mother…conflicted, she agreed leaving Deke without anything but a mere goodbye letter.

Five years elapse and she finally returns to resume her life. During her absence Deke ignored all attempts at contact from her however her friends kept her up to date with his indiscriminate sexcapades.

Her first night back she is persuaded by her closest friends Sawyer and Kinsley to join them for a night out to celebrate, at first glance he failed to recognise her but once he realises it is her, he claims a goodbye kiss leaving her in tears.

One facet was perplexing, she panicked upon realising she was covered in her assailant’s blood after sleeping in the tainted clothes...wouldn’t the crime lab need the DNA bloody apparel collected as evidence, how did ‘Z’ initially obtain the sample? After almost being abducted, did sex validate the trauma?

“I didn’t wear a condom”
“I’m on the pill, you’re clean right?”
“I’ve only not used a condom this this time with you”....if I had a pound for every time someone professed this...❗️

Twenty(20) references of ‘ya’. I need to visit Alabama to witness if ‘ya’ is peppered into speech or meant as creative license.

Overall - a sweet story incorporated with a dysfunctional mother, a broken home, familial disparity and a self-righteous sanctimonious ‘father’.

I liked the premise to this story...girl moves back to her hometown after being ripped away by her mother and her parent's ugly divorce. Five years later, she moves back and is ready to move on with her life. Moving on also means making peace with Deke Sullivan, the boy she loved and left behind. But the storyline to this one went down a really weird path with Vann's stalker and I just couldn't get behind her rekindled romance with Deke.

I didn't really like Deke. Plan and simple, he was an ass. I could see past his man whorish ways, but the way he treated Vann was appalling. It was really hard to find one redeeming quality in the man, especially when we got to see that not everything Deke put out there was real. I could see Vann wanting to make peace with him and get some closure, but to try and do anything else with him grated on my nerves.

Then there was the stalker storyline. Vann is secretly an erotic romance novelist. Only a few people know who she is, yet she has a stalker who is able to get in contact with her true identity instead of her alias. All believable, but then the identify of the stalker and his accomplice became known and their reasoning behind it lost me.

This was another one of those reads where I had to say "is it me?" Others have liked it and more undoubtedly will too, but this was not one of my favorites.

4 Stars!

I really enjoyed this book. This book is much different than her MC books but in a good way. I am a sucker for a second chance romance and that's what this book gave. This book was sweet, sexy, steamy, and had quite a few twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

This is Vann and Deke's story. Once madly in love, nothing could tear them apart. But when Vann moved with her mother without a real explanation, Deke's heart was broken. Years later, Vann is back. When these two cross paths, the passion and chemistry is still there but secrets and betrayals stand in their way. As the heat ignites between these two, will they be able to move on from the past to build on their future?

I enjoyed both Deke and Vann. They were so amazing together and you could feel their chemistry pouring off of the pages right from the beginning. I got frustrated with both of them at times and wanted to smack them maybe a time or two. But they worked at it hard. It wasn't easy for these two at times but it made it so much sweeter at the end.

I recommend this book and author!

I was given this book for an honest review

So Savannah and Deke were dating in high school until her drunk mother forced her to move to California. Both are devasted especially Deke since all he got was a letter from her. Savannah was upset and forced herself to move on. She still kept in touch with her best friends over the years. She decided after college and becoming a famous erotic writer, she was moving home with her friends. Her Gram, who I loved by the way, was excited to see her. She never fell out of love with Deke over the years and neither did he. He just needed to know why she left without saying anything. During her first nights out, she runs into him at his bar. Feelings are still there but neither one of them are willing to admit it. With the help of their friends, Gram and her crazy stalker on the loose, they finally admit everything and commit. There was a crazy twist in this book that I swear I never saw coming. This book has it all, long lost love, addicts and cheating parents plus very hot sex. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for more from this author. I hope there is more from this series like maybe Zander and Sawyer's book

Rating 4 stars out of 5

I really loved this story line. The plot twist was something I was not expecting. Vann has been through a lot with her being ripped away from her friends and Deke. Now back from California Vann returns back to the life she had before leaving with her mother, but by coming back she faces the love that she left behind Deke. Vann's character show's a lot of growth from the flashback scenes in the book to the present. I like that Vann had her two best friends Sawyer and Kinsley being her voices of reason when she has her doubts about Deke. Some of the scenes dealing with Deke's past will have you dabbing at your eyes. I can't really put into words how much I enjoyed reading Wanting You. Now all I need is a follow up book for Sawyer and Z *hint hint* lol.. Good Read I defiantly recommend this book.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, stalker, secrets, and heartbreak.

This is Savannah (Vann) and Deke’s story. Years ago Vann and Deke were in love. Vann had to go with her mother and could not tell Deke why. Now she is back in town and ready to move on with her life. She needs to talk to Deke and explain so she can move on. The chemistry between the two is as strong as ever but Deke only wants her for sex. Can she allow that and hope to build on it? Will the terror that she was facing before the move come back for her and ruin all she was trying to have with Deke? Will she survive the past and the stalker or will she be to broken for anything by the end?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

When Savannah was forced to move away when she was in high school to sunny California she was devastated. She didn't want to leave Deke her one true love but she had no choice. 5 years later and she still loves him and is anxious awaiting the moment when she moves back home and see's him again for the first time. He see's her from behind and can't help to think how hot she looks but when he approaches her and she turns around he is shocked to see her again. He instantly crashes his lips to her in a passionate kiss that melts her completely in his arms only for him to tell her Goodbye. She is not surprised but her heart is breaking again. Things take a turn for the worst when her stalker finds out her true identity and has even gone to great lengths to kidnap her. Deke lets his possessive side for her take over he will do whatever it takes to protect her.

Absolutely love this book. It kept me wanting more throughout. Deke and Vann were made for each other, they just belong. There wasn't much that 'didn't work' for me as you'll see. The characters are fantastic especially grams! I love her so much and her quick wit it just fantastic. Nice work. Also loved the name choices! I had to read this in one sitting, I couldn't put it down, the book totally rocks.... I'm hoping there's more from Deke and Vann & Sawyer and Z! I don't feel this is 'The End' there's still so much more I want to know. This is a must read. Ryan is extremely talented & I can't wait to read more of her work.

I wasn't impressed with this book. I have enjoyed Ryan Michele's work in the past but this one just didn't cut it for me. I didn't really see the reason for the 5 year separation even though I understand her initial departure I don't really see why she stayed away so long. I didn't really feel much of a connection with Deke and Vann and from what I gather they weren't together that long before she left. The ending also felt very rushed and I was disappointed that there was no mention of her continuing her relationship with her sister. There were also a lot of editorial mistakes, spelling errors, sentences that didn't make sense, consistency errors, etc, which ruined it even more for me.
