Rizwan Sabir is back.
And this time the battle is personal.
An ex al-Qaeda jihadi, Riz is now a fixer for a shadowy branch of the Ministry of Defence. He has teamed up professionally and romantically with Holly "Bang-Bang" Kirpachi - a hard-bitten girl gang leader.
Their marriage was set to be the social event of the season.
Until the wedding celebrations were interrupted by a series of murders in the East End of London.
Someone is copying Jack the Ripper with a new spate of gruesome killings in Whitechapel.
Riz and Bang-Bang are assigned to the case - but this is no easy mystery to crack.
Can they catch the killer before he strikes again?
Or are there other, darker forces at work?

'Kill Order' is an exciting police-procedural, techno-thriller that brings vividly to life both the new and the old East End. It is the third explosive installment of the Riz Sabir series.

I have to say that I am about 50% done with Blood Honeymoon. Charlie Flowers has tapped into a much larger audience than Western Corporate Marketing would have us believe.

The book is delivered in first person which makes it very easy to read. The technical stuff in the book seems legit. But I'm not an expert on "jihad" by any means. I am probably the whitest person you will meet on a sunny day. With that said I found the inclusion of the cultural dynamics / particulars interesting.

Riz and Bang-Bang are back! That’s what the product description screams, and what can I say? It’s been too long! The first Riz book broke new territory as a brand new entry into a genre of books that was becoming–for want of a better word–jaded. James Bond yadayada… Yes, we get it, spy books… Harry Palmer and his glasses… Pass me the boredom box…

Wait! No, give me that book… Blood Honeymoon? I guess it will just be another of those same old spy books. Actually, this is pretty good… No, this is excellent!

Riz broke new ground because it took a new situation and an old concept and melded the two together. What could have been very bad is actually very good.

Now, we come to the latest addition in the cannon and what can I say?

A wedding! Riz and Bang-Bang are getting hitched and nothing can possibly go wrong, can it? As it turns out, someone is emulating the ripper. Oh man, bye-bye Bang-Bang‘s wedding. Now it’s time to get serious.

When people finally get sick of seeing James Bond, Harry Palmer and the other dudes getting it on in the 60s world of the cold war, they will look for a new kind ofspy novel and Riz will be waiting. Charlie Flowers writes with fluency; he writes like a man who feels his characters, and I notice one lady in a review above complaining about the language. Well, frankly, these people do talk like that and they aren’t going to be gentlemen about it. Riz and Bang-Bang fight the bad guys and sometimes “darn it” doesn’t quite hit the mark.

Excellent book from an excellent writer! We need more Riz by Flowers!

Charlie you did it again! Loved the book.. The characters have really grown since the first installment. This one was a bit more meaty than the first 2. I sure hope you keep Riz and Bang Bang together and give us another great read very soon. Recommendation read the books in order, you can't go wrong with any one of them but you will really appreciate the growth. If you are a fan of thriller, mystery, detective, military, spec ops etc.. You will truly love this series. People... put Charlie Flowers in your go to bag of authors for simple guilty pleasures.. 5 stars across the board.. A real vacation from reality and daily stresses.

So, it's what we were waiting for. The Sabir - Kirpachi wedding. And then, there's a murder mystery. It's suddenly all a bit film noir really, but it works. East London, burlesque shows, curry kings, programming geekery, bloody crimescenes, tough crazy women with guns and a sniper on the loose to track down. And in the middle of it... get your best suit or frock, and henna at the ready. It's time for a wedding. Riz has it all... here's hoping he can hold onto his wife a bit longer than James Bond did...

Jack the Ripper meets a Bangladeshi Mafia. This is my favorite Riz Sabir adventure so far. Starting off with a state sanctioned terrorist attack on his wedding day, “Kill Order” by Charlie Flowers speeds forward with action that left me breathless. Happily, Holly (Bang Bang) and Riz tie the knot in an almost traditional ceremony. From there on the plot thickens like a delicious curry of violence and mystery. Working with the local police Riz, Bang Bang and the delightful Black eyes work as an efficient team to discover the identity of a wannabe Jack the Ripper in the community. Interspersed with the thrilling moments of shooting and bombing is the hilarious experience of watching Bang Bang in her professional entertainer mode and the touching moment little Daisy shares her Peppa Pig coloring with Riz. Amidst the fast paced action Riz’s love for his bride peeks through. In spite of his concerns for her, he allows her to be her own woman (as if anyone could stop Bang Bang) and that makes him an even more endearing character. Fuzz is back with her incomparable piloting skills oozing confidence. East London has never seen the likes of this and Springheel Jack is probably turning in his grave as the competition blows his series of killings into the wind. All in all this is an exciting and well written third step in the Riz and Bang Bang story with a conclusion that left me stunned. I’m hooked and looking forward to jumping into Book 4, feet first, locked and loaded, and ready for more action.

Charlie Flowers murders it yet again with his third book in the Riz saga. This time, my favorite character, Bang-Bang, is getting hitched to him, and of course, violence ensues all around them. This is a slower paced book than his previous works in the series, but its pacing is deliberate, and the overall story is exciting in a way only Charlie Flowers can deliver. If you read the first two books, then pick up this one. How could you not?

The third in Charlie Flowers Riz Sabir's series and doesn't dissapoint. With all the technical details on a par with Tom Clancy and the sharp spikey observations from Mr Flowers himself, this is certainly the most brutal and best in the series so far. Im not a big fan of First person novels but, this works.
Bloody, thought provoking (on a par with todays troubles and indeed the past) and heavy doses of wry satire.
Do yourself a favour, the Riz stories educate and open your mind. Bloody Brilliant.
