We finally have Doctore’s story and what a beautiful one it is. Kyrian (Dotore) has endured so much pain…to see his growth and healing, well, this is just a feel good kind of read. Ayla as an escaped bedslave has her own hell to overcome. It’s sweet to see how these two help heal each other. Characters are dynamic and well written. Download and enjoy❤️❤️
It's not what we go through, it's how we come out. Kyrian and Ayla are prime examples of what a second chance can do in one's life. Kyrian is no longer a gladiator. He lives alone in a cabin, in a quiet place, on his own terms. When he sees a human female collapse after running, he doesn't hesitate to go help her because he knows if she's a human, she's been abducted. Ayla wakes in pain, not knowing where she is. She remembers what happened, oh boy, does she remember what happened. When she sees her rescuer, she doesn't trust him but she's thankful. Glad for kindness and a gentle touch. Since he was freed from his nightmarish captivity, he hasn't felt or desired to feel arousal. Yet, she makes his body react involuntarily. Where is his hard fought for self control over his mind and body? When she suggests that they take advantage of their mutual attraction, she can tell that he's. . .nervous, afraid. So she aims to put him at ease by sharing her own experiences. He suggests that they go slow, they have five days until his friends come to retrieve her. Why not spend it in paradise? But even as they reach the heights of feelings long forgotten, is the danger over? What a beautiful story of the passion that can bloom from love and patience! Unchained Melody, it fits them PERFECTLY! Do not pass this one by.
Kyrian, formerly known as “Doctore,’” has chosen a solitary existence in his cabin, far from any other settlements. He escaped his cruel owner who had treated him brutally as a “bed-slave” to the point where he has adopted a celibate, monastic lifestyle. He’s been living alone, praying and meditating in an attempt to heal his broken mind. Living alone that is until a dirty, bleeding human female collapses on the edge of the woods that border his dwelling.
Ayla has been kept prisoner as a “bed-slave” for years but has managed to escape from a trio of brutal aliens. She stumbles out of a woods exhausted and injured from her flight. She stumbles out of the woods onto an open meadow inhabited by a lone cabin and its occupant.
Can Ayla and Kyrian find healing and peace together or must they soon go their separate ways?
Another uplifting story of former enslaved beings finding solace in each other after they achieve freedom.
A short love story about two people working through trauma. We've been following the MMC since the first book. Even though he is an older male, it was interesting to me how trauma seemed to make them both around the same age.
Here's one of the most poetic scenes that I liked,
“This room is full of people,” he says softly, his lips at my ear. “There are a hundred younger Doctorés and dozens of Kyrians. Some are scoffing at me, telling me my heart is in danger. Some are cheering me on for diving into uncharted territory, though I’m unarmed. Some are sad, telling me I’ll never overcome the trauma of my past.”
The older we get the more versions of ourselves we have surrounding us all the time.
They were both “broken” and became unbroken together.
I loved this book. It's such a beautiful story about found family and healing together. It's fast-paced and packed full of dreamy scenes of the MCs bonding. It doesn't focus too heavily on the trauma, which I appreciate, but it's present and addressed in a nice way. The connection between the MCs is so good I can feel it. I love both characters. The spice is excellent and is made even better by the strong connection between the MCs.
My favourite scene is, without a doubt, the clay/pottery scene. OMG, I loved that. It had me swooning and giggling like a school girl.
This book can be read as a standalone without any issues.
This is such a touching story, hold onto your heart! Kyrian, or Doctore, as he was known when he was a slave and gladiator, has found his peace on a secluded planet with no other people. Just himself and quiet. Until the day he finds an unconscious, naked female. He takes her to his cabin and treats her wounds. But her internal wounds are as deep as his. They have both suffered untold physical and sexual abuse. Ayla is slow to trust Kyrian, but each day brings them closer together. This book grabs you on the first page and doesn’t let go of your heart until the end, if then!
I always wondered what happened to Doctore and Theos and I am so glad they are getting their stories. I love this entire series by Alana Khan and Doctore's story is very much as I would have imagined for someone with the soul of a poet, an inherent gentleness, and yet a highly skilled fighter. The heroine is, as with all in this series, a kidnapped human forced to serve as a sex slave. However, these women in this series are not completely broken and all are written to show their true strength of character. While this can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend going back and reading the entire Galaxy Gladiator series.
Two damages souls- how can they heal? Kyrian hears something coming his way, running on two feet and collapses on the edge of the woods. It's a human female, beaten and now unconscious. He takes her to his tiny cabin and tends to her. Ayla wakes but isn't afraid of Kyrian, which is amazing because of the abuse she has gone through. She was abducted several years ago but finally was able to sneak away from her abusers and run. Alana's story is very intense, approaching several hard subjects carefully, with plot twists, danger, care, and steam to give her readers an amazing tale.
This is book twenty and it shares the journey of Doctore aka Kyrian after the torture and abuse. I enjoyed reading this book. There is a lot of healing going around for not only Doctore but for the human female Ayla. Doctore is just so good as he spots a lump of a person and immediately goes to help. He knows that the person is running from something or people. When he sees it’s a female, well he knows the dangers and takes Ayla to help her. He is also smart because he goes back to cover their footsteps or any signs of the blood. This books is their healing journey together. Read On!
Healing journey. This was quite a heartfelt story watching two very traumatized individuals on uphill a path to heal. Although there is mention of their experiences, I really liked how the focus was on slowly building trust, caring for the other and mentally embracing hope for a better future. Familiarity with previous novels in the series helped make connections when topics and other characters were mentioned-although there is enough details presented that the novel could be read on its own.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily sharing my honest review.
Kyrian ans Ayla. Oh man, what a beautiful tale of healing and love! Both Kyrian and Ayla heal and grow in this story. Both have been badly damaged, permanently they think, by their time as slaves. Together they find healing for their souls and joyous love for their bodies. This one is so touching and I felt it deeply. As always with Alana Khan you get amazing characters, impeccable world building and an incredible story. 5 hearts for this one.
Finally we get to read Doctore's story. This book is so sweet. Filled with lots of love and healing. Poor gladiator has been through so much. All he desires is a peaceful, quiet place to heal and live alone till the end of his days. Along comes a human female who needs a place to heal and be safe. Together they discover a future filled with love. I highly recommend you check this book out and the books in the series.
This was an uplifting read that showcases what second chances can do for someone. Both Kyrian (Doctore) and Ayla have had very traumatic pasts. They're both free now but to actually live in the present and have hope for the future was a difficult road for them. However, as their story unfolded, trust slowly built and love bloomed. I loved diving into this next installment of the series and was thrilled that Kyrian got his HEA :D
Ayla was abducted and kept as a slave for three years. The alien she runs into upon her escape has vowed to live a monastic life. Both have tough pasts, which include scars both visible and not.
As these two help each other heal, the threat comes near and life decisions must be made. Thoughtful, emotional and intriguing.
***** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book *****
Book twenty of the Galaxy Gladiators Alien Abduction Romance Series, another great story this series gets better with each new story. Ayla and Doctore's story grabbed my interest from the first page and did not let go until I was finished. This is a series that when it is finished I want to go back to the first book and read it all again. This book is well worth reading. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Two individuals who have been captured and tortured for years find their way to one another. She is willing to take a chance on a new life, while he prefers isolation and meditation. Is it possible that together they can forge a better future? An intriguing study of pain, loss, hope, love and redemption.
This is the story of Doctore and Ayla. Doctore is glimpsed in previous books in this series. I was so glad to see he got his own story. Ayla was such a great match to him. Both had such a rough past and felt broken. They come together so beautifully and it's a nice slow burn to the finish! Really loved this one and recommend!
I truly loved this book. Ayla and Kyrian have to be two of my favorite story characters. Their romance is so touching and sad all at the same time. These two truly did need a fantastic HEA. They both suffered so much, and to find each other like this in such a vast universe made it even better. I applaud the author on writing such a beautiful romance that is sure to touch many many hearts.
Kyrian and Ayla Doctore, Kyrian really needed a special story, what he endured was really traumatic. I've read that book and I cried a lot. This book is super sweet we get to see both of them evolving, Ayla and Kyrian have a lot off trauma but together they work to get better. Also, seringa Kyrian fifth the bad guys is super hot. I just loved this book.
This was one of the easier books in this series to read. I always felt so sorry for Doctore’ and all he went through. For him to heal and embrace life again AND to find acceptance and love was wonderful. Ayla was perfect for him since she had a similar experience and could relate to him on a deeper level. I loved it!
This is a book about healing after suffering prolonged, terrible injustices. It’s about struggling to find themselves and recover from the past. It’s a rebirth of two broken people, trying to become whole with kindness and understanding, that neither felt they could ever achieve or deserve.
I really enjoyed this book. The way this couple was broken in the same way but overcame it to be as one. The way the scenes were written especially the intimacy and not sexual but true intimacy was so real and touching. Best one.
Doctors and Ayla were so good for each other, even though they may not have realized it at first! I loved how they came to their HEA and I always love me some spice! 🔥 Alana Khan does it yet again! Highly Recommend!
I am leaving my honest review after reading an ARC copy.
This story is about repairing a very damaged hero. After the terrible abuse at the hands of a sick female villain two friends could not face their others friends because of shame. This is about the first male coming out past his torment.
This is a story of healing, of learning to trust, hope, be free, and love again. It was a beautiful sight to see the MCs as they accepted each other without any judgment, one step at a time.
