I enjoyed this book, the storyline was great and held my attention. I loved the hint of Paranormal we got from the Sisters of the Sacred Heart. They seem like a bunch of fun women who like to get up mischief by helping the people around them find love. In Dark and Stormy its Serena’s turn to help her Co-workers Reddick and Regina realize there is more to their relationship then business. Reddick and Regina are your typical workaholics, but one stormy night changes everything, and business changes to pleasure. I don’t want to give too much away but I will say I enjoyed the build up to the sex scene and yes it was hot. And watch out for Reddick with his chocolate and Regina’s love for red high heels that was such a cute moment.

* I received a copy of the ebook in exchange for an honest review. *
I enjoyed reading this book, the story pulled you in quickly, and kept you hooked, however, the ending also came just as quickly and left you wondering what was next? This is it? I felt like there could have/should have been more about the Sisters of the Sacred Heart and what their larger role is in the series. They seem like they play a pivotal role in the series but we didn't learn much about them, how they came together and why they choose to help people to find love, enrich their lives and make connections. I felt like I was missing out on these details in the story. I did enjoy the story behind Regina and Reddick but that too felt like I was missing some important details, such as why were they chosen? Who decided that they would be a good match? What makes the magic work? Just the details that I would have enjoyed reading about that were missing.
Overall the story was a good one, that I enjoyed and I would try another book by this author. She made the characters feel like they were people that you would meet on the street, that you would become friends with and want to spend additional time with, just the overall amount of details needed some attention and expanding upon.

Besides the fact that Felicia Starr Frame received months of publicity and book promotion services and refuses to pay for them, I do have a little something to say about her newest release..

I expected way more of this novella, especially considering her first novel was decent. I think Felicia Starr Frame had potential as an novelist until she thought she could publish a book once a month. Her creativity hit a severe downward spiral after that.

I think it's obvious. Readers will love (or at least like) what authors write when the author loves the story but when the author is just throwing some words -- and severely misspelled words at that, on paper just to get it published as quick as possible, I think it is noticeable and I for sure will not be wasting my time on any more of this so-called authors work.

ARC for Honest Review

Dark and Stormy is one of those pleasant reads that hits you unexpectedly. When I first started I thought "this is one of those typical romance stories", but it wasn't. I found myself engaged and immersed in the story. It has a cute and enticing quality that hooks you. The story line, was mixed with paranormal qualities but taking place in and under normal circumstances. I liked seeing the interactions between the characters and enjoyed their story from start to finish. It was a quick read which helped getting the story going straight to the point without dragging. I look forward to further stories from this author. Enjoy!

What I Loved About This Book: This was a simple, quick, easy-going read for me. All the characters are enjoyable and likeable plus the story is well-written and engaging. I loved the suspense between Regina and Reddick and Felicia Starr does not disappoint when they finally have their moment. One thing that stood out to me was the realness between Regina and Reddick. Sometimes I feel the author goes a little too crazy with the love scenes. They can seem unrealistic, far-fetched and overall confusing (wait...he put that where and she is in what position??) One scene that sticks out in my head and I literally laughed out loud is when Regina is trying to pull Reddick's shorts down and they got stuck on you know what and it bounces back and smacks her against the cheek. It stands out to me because it has happened on more than one occasion to me and my husband, especially when he's pitching a tent in a pair of gym shorts. I loved the accuracy of the sex scene between them. We picture in our heads what we want to do to our men but the realization is that sometimes we are not as sexy as we pictured and Felicia captured that for me in this story. Aside from that, there are some cutesy heart-felt moments and some feisty banter between Regina and Reddick.

Not So Much: I don't know if I would label this book as a Paranormal Romance. While the first chapter and epilogue focuses on the Sacred Heart Coven, the majority of the story is just a normal office romance. Maybe an addition chapter should focus on the coven and give the readers more of a background about the coven and who all the witches are and how they came about. Also, the story plays out nicely but I felt that last couple of pages were rushed and wraps up too quickly. The story leads up perfectly to Regina and Reddick but when they finally get together, the story wraps up suddenly.

Serena and her husband Michelangelo runs and owns a sale company, where they have excellent team leaders. But Serena is more than just a female, she’s a witch too. And she has noticed something… There’s tension between her two sales leaders; Regina and Reddick, although if you ask them, hell will freeze over first before anything happens between them. So Serena decides – with some help from her sisters in her coven – to give them a nudge in the right direction. Now all they need is the right ingredients; a broken shoe, a new pair, moon stones, a storm and power shut down. The game is on, the question is; who will win?
I loved reading Dark and Stormy. It was amazing to see the buildup, the tension racking higher and higher, and when it finally releases… wow. Fantastic. I was amazed on how easily I fell into the story, and when I closed Dark and Stormy, I didn’t want it to end. I wanted to know more, read more and explore more of the world that Felicia has created.
Regina and Reddick are both workaholics, they’re the first to arrive in the mornings and the last to leave. But at the same time, they don’t LIVE. They work, and are consumed by it, but they forgetting something very important; love. When the storm hits the building they’re working in, Regina panics, old memories resurfacing. Many would’ve turned away, but Reddick steps up and support Regina, allows her to fall apart and enjoys seeing her softer side. When she lets her guard down, so does he and the magic that comes from it is wonderful. The sex is great to read, BUT!! To me, the chase, the buildup is the best part, and that Felicia delivers beautifully. Can’t wait to get my hands on the next one!!!

I do love myself a steamy story and this was definitely that. I never really know what to expect when reading N.A. but this one was great. I think the fact that there was a paranormal aspect to it helped integrate the story for me.

This was a short story but for some reason it didn't feel like it to me. I felt like it was a whole novel, which was good because most short stories or novellas are just filler stories that aren't necessarily needed to understand other books in the story. I don't feel like this is the case here, however.

I really liked this story and the concept of good witches looking to push people in the right direction of love. Felicia's books always seem to be about unique concepts and ideas and I really like that about her. I tend to read a lot of things in the paranormal genre and it's always refreshing to read something that's different. I also like that she wasn't afraid to write a graphic sex scene. Some authors tend to skim over the gritty details and I was glad that it didn't happen in this book. Come on, I'm a woman and I am not afraid of the steamy truth. It doesn't need to be buttered up for me,I actually prefer that it not be. So it was spectacular to read something like that with Dark and Stormy.

I give a big 5 stars for Felicia and Dark and Stormy. I'm glad she took a chance and decided to share her ideas with the world.

This book was given to me by the author for an honest review. I must say this book is an amazing start to a new series. It is a short story, which leads you to wanting more. I couldn't put my Kindle down.
A modern day coven of witches that use their casting for good and love. Serena, a co-owner of a business, noticed that two of her best employees, Regina and Reddick, were very competitive with each other. She looked a little deeper and noticed they had an attraction towards the other. Regina and Reddick are workaholics with goals always met and no matter what are trying to out do one another. Serena and her sisters cast a spell of love for them on the full moon.
During a hurricane both Regina and Reddick were stuck at work with no power. The only heat that was need was the one they had hidden for each other. Can a love form from two people who are always going toe to toe?
This steamy read left me with a smile on my face that I couldn't hide even if I tried! I can't wait for the next book in this series, Light and Sweet! Thank you Felicia! Keep writing these wonderful stories.

Felicia Starr has shown her diversity as a writer with another well written story in a rather different genre than her first series. Dark and Stormy was eloquently written and easy to read. The crescendo of excitement as the story progresses grabs hold of the reader and pulls them into the story and along for the wild ride. It is steamy and romantic and full of fantasy while maintaining a sense of believability and reality. Again she leaves the reader wanting more and lucky for us, there will be more as this is just the first book of the Sacred Hearts Coven series.

Dark and Stormy is a very quick book about a love spell. When I started reading and saw that a love spell was at play, I was thinking “oh no”, but I was pleasantly surprised that once the spell was cast the Regina and Reddick didn’t automatically start falling over themselves to get to the other person. It didn’t feel over the top or crazy cheesy. It was just a quick story about two people finally seeing how great they are for each other.

Regina and Reddick are both total workaholics. They live for the job and they are both very competitive. They are honestly like the same person. I feel like they actually would be a good match. They story gives you just enough set up and background information to allow you to get to know Regina, Reddick and their boss, but not much of anyone else. You get a glimpse of the other people in the office but they are mostly just background noise in the story. Once you take a day or two to explore the office, the magic of the spell starts to heat up between the two of them.

A storm forces them together and they bond over a project they are working on at night. I would have liked it more if this book seemed to be a fun start of something more and that was it. I would have liked them to just hint at future feelings, but Reddick full out thinks he is in love with Regina. That was the only thing that bugged me a little about the story. It was too quick for love, but other than that I thought this book was fun and sexy. I quick little story that was impressively developed for its mere 136 pages. You should read this book if you are looking for a quick magical weekend romance.

Review: 5 stars

General: I absolutely love this cover and had to start with that first. It’s beautiful and drew me right into wanting to know what secrets it held. The book didn’t let me down at all! I absolutely love the concept of the series. It’s original and entertaining without being unbelievable. I think the coven may have been my favorite part but I did love the book as a whole as well. My complaint? TOO SHORT!

The book starts off with a bang and keeps the tension, drama and sexual interest going until the end. I was engaged the whole time and I loved Regina as a lead she was a great character. I loved her interactions both before and after the spell with Reddick. It was a cute, steamy and entertaining story that didn’t rush to a finish as some shorter stories do. I wish there had been more with the coven maybe in the background as I love the idea but it was still a great read. Can’t wait for the next!

Characters: Regina- Regina reminded me of any successful woman. She was headstrong, intelligent and crying out for someone to be her match. I loved her and thought she was spot on.

Reddick- Reddick got my attention from the beginning but I'm not sure why. He was realistic and that may be it. He wasn't the perfect alpha male and really enjoyed that. His chemistry with Regina was awesome.

It’s started really good! The story seemed to just build and build. I was hoping it would continue to build at that steady pace…but it didn’t. Once it hit that climax, everything went really fast. I didn’t like how fast things progressed once they started making out. It was made clear very early on in the book that they did not like each other. Then it turned into intsa-love. That right there is what turned me off.

It didn’t seem consistent with their characters to move so fast. In my head I was thinking, “Oh man.” It ended a bit sourly for me. I might give another book in the series a chance. But if I’m being honest, how I feel right now; I’m not reading anymore of this series. So take it for what it is, this book just wasn’t for me.

This is the first book in the Sacred Hearts Coven series. This is a fun whimsical story about a group of women that practice magic to help improve the lives of others. Dark and Stormy is Serena’s turn to help her employees Regina and Reddick come together in the romance department. The magic revolves around a killer pair of red shoes.

The plot of this story is a magical love story mixed in with some weather drama, a workplace, competition, and some magical sex. The chemistry between Regina and Reddick is a little confrontation in the beginning, but the coven works its magic achieving the desired effect. This is a short story and the pacing is quick and to the point. Super ending and character development for this magical short story.

Let me start by saying I am usually against paranormal. They don't normally strike interest for me although I try and try. Felicia Starr swooped me in and kept me going until the last page. I finished it in two sittings.

Every month the sisters of the Sacred Hearts Coven gather with one thing in mind: ignite that flame that has died and spark up a romance. Regina becomes their target and her boss, Serena is determined to get her to loosen up and give Reddick a chance.

I loved this story because it was flawless. It transitioned smoothly and the paranormal element was just touch, not overdone. I look forward to reading more of the Sacred Hearts Coven and learning more about these wonderful witches.

A Great magically read.

The story opens with a group of modern day witches casting a romance spell. One the witches Serena casts the spell on two of her employee’s who she thinks would be great together. Will the spell work, will Regina and Reddick find love with each other? You will have to read it to find out.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick read but it’s very fast paced and flows really well. I loved the flirting and interaction between Regina and Reddick. The only thing I found was that it ended suddenly. I want more of Reddick and Regina’s story. I would also be interested to read Serena and her husband’s story. I feel like there is one there to be told. I look forward to reading the next book the series.

Overall a great magically, sexy, hot fun read.

5 stars!!

Wow!! I wasn’t sure how I was going to like this book as I have not yet really read books involving witches. I love it!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!

First let’s start out with the witches; Sisters of the Sacred Heart Coven, I really like Serena. She is convinced that her two employees have an attraction for each other and they just need a little help opening their eyes. So she takes it upon herself to cast a spell that helps them to open up their hearts. Regina is her top sales person along with Reddick who is also her top sales person. They are constantly trying to best each other. They are both hard working dedicated employees. I love the buildup of their relationship and the work relationship they have as well, they are very competitive with each other.

One day while they were working a storm was approaching their area, most of their coworkers had left early because of the storm but Regina and Reddick stayed behind to work late which is usual for them. As the storm approaches they are stuck at the office with each other. Once they start to realize there is an attraction to each other; it heats up between them and I absolutely love it! HOT! HOT! HOT! I think they are perfect for each other they have a lot in common same goals, same ambitions. Love the way you came up with the name for this book.

LOVE IT!

I am looking forward to more stories from this coven!

There’s nothing like a few witches getting you to open your eyes, and pay a little less attention to work, and a little MORE attention to the person you’re attracted to at work. This is exactly what the sisters of the Sacred Hearts Coven did for Regina and Reddick. Sure, they paid plenty of attention to each other, but as rivals in business. They were missing the heat between the two of them that everyone else saw. So, the coven decided to give them a little nudge.

As their boss, who is also Regina’s friend, subtly put things into gear, strange things started to happen that made it difficult for even these career-driven two to ignore. I wont go too much into what things happen, because the biggest part of the fun is wondering what will happen next, and how each will react.

Although it appeared pretty clear from the beginning how the book would end, it was still a fun (and very hot) ride getting there. I was never bored, and I read the book quickly, constantly intrigued about what event would come up next to get the attentions of Regina and Reddick pointed at each other. It will definitely be interesting to see what couple these witches have their sites on next, and what they have in store for them!

Regina and Reddick were hard workers. Usually one or both were top salesperson for the month. Regina worked so hard that she didn’t allow time for a romantic relationship. Little did she know that magic was on her side. A hurricane was heading straight for the office and both Regina and Reddick were stuck inside. Their attraction was heating up and there was no denying it anymore. Will the storm bring them close or finish something that has yet to start?

I am loving the Scared Heart series! These witches have good intensions. I love the characters the author creates. We all know or can relate to one or more. Such a great read. I couldn’t put it down! I give it 5 stars

Reddick and Regina worked as top Sales Rep's in Serena's business and she feels that they need help in the office and in romance. Serena is a Sister in the Scared Hearts Coven and asked her Sister's to help cast a spell to bring Reddick and Regina together. She feels if they get together, then their whole lives will become the better, at work and play.
During a hurricane the magic takes hold and it is Hot, Steamy Sex during the storm. Did the Spell work? You guess!
This short story is an office romance that didn't know how to connect. But with the magic of the Coven, it burst into more then anyone could imagine. Felicia Star put a whole lot of Hot Sex and Romance into a short story. Good Story! Good Romance! Good Writing! Good Sex! Good Book!

This was a great story to read. I was hoping for a little bit more magic. Don't get me wrong there is magic that happened in many ways, and those red heels are the key of this whole thing. This is well written and kept me turning page after page. I would have given it 5 stars if I would have got a little bit more witchiness, but I truly give it 4.5 stars because it truly kept me reading. The love that happens is sweet and there is steamingness that happens that would make anyone move in their sit a little. I say pick it up and you won't be disappointed.
