Guy vs. Kisame!! Kakashi vs. Itachi!! We finally learn what may be happening to Gaara and what might also be in store for Naruto, when they both come face to face with a devious common enemy: the Akatsuki!
Masashi Kishimoto (岸本斉史 Kishimoto Masashi) is a Japanese manga artist, well known for creating the manga series Naruto. His younger twin brother, Seishi Kishimoto, is also a manga artist and creator of the manga series O-Parts Hunter (666 Satan) and Blazer Drive. Two of his former assistants, Osamu Kajisa (Tattoo Hearts) and Yuuichi Itakura (Hand's), have also gone on to moderate success following their work on Naruto.
Kishimoto's first work as a manga artist was Karakuri (カラクリ?), which he submitted to Shueisha in 1995. This earned him the Weekly Shōnen Jump's monthly "Hop Step Award" in 1996, granted to promising new manga artists. This was followed in 1997 by a pilot version of Naruto (NARUTO-ナルト-), published in Akamaru Jump Summer. In 1998, Kishimoto premiered as a Weekly Shōnen Jump artist with a serialized version of Karakuri in Weekly Shōnen Jump, but it proved unpopular and was canceled soon after. In 1999, a serialized version of Naruto began publication in Weekly Shōnen Jump and quickly became a hit.
The Akatsuki have begun their plan to extract the one tailed beast spirit from Gaara. However the Leaf Ninja are closing in on them and fast. So to distract them they decide to send in Itachi and Kisame to slow down their pursuit. In the end Guy and Kakashi are victorious and the leaf ninja make it to the target point but it may already be too late for Gaara. We also get a little more in depth knowledge of the Jinchuriki, the hosts to the tailed beasts spirits!!
The rescue mission is a go and it’s a race against time. The battles are pretty cool but I feel like they could’ve been even better if stretched over a couple of volumes.
Naruto’s development in particular could’ve been even more impressive in his demonstration of his maturation but everything was too fast-paced for that. In fact, there’s barely any dialogues as large panel action sequences reigned throughout this volume.
Disappointed! The fun of battle was taken away because it was too short. I really hoped that some definitive conclusion will come out but it was just some insignificant fight. Naruto has grown up but it is not like he has been training for so many years with a sage. His powers are still basic and not much advanced.
The fight for Gaara continues! This is really starting to become super thrilling. Love the action and the villains are all super interesting in their use of powers!
This is one of those times that knowing how good a fight can be with foreknowledge makes a volume suffer in comparison. Itachi can be such a badass, but in this circumstance, he's just pulling the same trick as before.
Also, I wanted to see Naruto be a little more badass after two years of training, but that's a personal thing.
The battle was brilliant until the ending.. The end was disappointing but that didn't take away the fun of it ! Love this Kisame guy ! He has got some brain ! Kakashi's jutsu was awesome !
Eh, meh. While Akatsuki sure have interesting powers, their setup for now fails to induce any kind of excitement. A bunch of emo guys in cloudy cloaks gathering sinisterly in a cave. I mean, come on! The fight between Itachi and Kakashi could've been good if not for the tiny fact that it wasn't really a fight between Itachi and Kakashi. Oooh, Itachi is so powerful he can fight like equal with Kakashi even through a proxy... I'm trembling with fear :/
I guess it all just takes waay too long. And however I try, I can't warm up to Guy. Nope. It's not even the unibrow, or the tinkling smile. It's everything. Just... no.
Itachi is great, as usual. But I've always found this arc a little meh. Each individual volume has great stuff in it, but the overall arc is not very impactful.
Well... Highlight di sini emang Kakashi vs Itachi sih. Tapi buatku, adegan Naruto yang berusaha sekuat tenaga nyelamatin Gaara, itu keren :")
Kakashi verses itachi but this time kakashi has Naruto and Sakura to back him up. On top of that we have Lee and Guy and the crew verses Fish Face. So all this is happening while Garaa is getting his creature thingy sucked out of him. Plenty of intense battles, pretty good emotional bits, and a ending that leaves you wanting more.
Naruto as a title is surprising me because I was pretty invested in this. Not quite on a 4 star but a easy 3.5. I think I might enjoy Naruto more this time around.
