Very good book with fun moments and emotional ones. Bonnie is co-owner of the inn where Paul's daughter is getting married. From the moment they ran into each other - literally - there have been sparks flying between them. Paul doesn't understand his fascination with Bonnie, who is pretty well tied to the inn, when he's about to be free for the first time in twenty-one years. But he is, and the more time he spends with her, the deeper it goes.
I really liked both Bonnie and Paul. She was the driving force behind the three siblings reopening the inn after they inherited it and she is the one who is there 24/7. The first couple times she met Paul, when his daughter was planning her wedding, he knocked her right off her feet. After he helped her up, she noticed a zing of attraction. At the beginning of this book, they encounter each other at the farmers market and take the time to talk to each other. When Bonnie discovers that he's interested in learning to cook healthier meals for himself, she offers him a spot in her cooking class. The classes bring them closer together and soon they are spending what time they can together. It isn't as much as she would like, but as busy as she is she'll take what she can get, and some of it is quality time indeed. Paul has made it pretty obvious that he's really looking forward to his upcoming freedom, so Bonnie doesn't quite know what to expect of their deepening relationship. She suspects that she is falling in love with him, and wants more than he may be prepared to offer. When he breaks things off rather suddenly, telling her she needs more than he can give her, she blasts him for being arrogant and condescending in telling her what her own needs are. I loved the way she didn't just sit back and take it. The couple of weeks before his daughter's wedding were hard for her because she really missed him. I really liked the way that her brother and sister were there to support her without trying to tell her what to do. I really loved the daughter's wedding and loved seeing Paul grovelling later on.
Paul was a great character. One of the things I liked best about him was what a good father he was. Even though he and Cassie's mom had never married they had stayed good friends even after she married. He was treated as just another member of the family. I also loved seeing the great relationship he had with Cassie. It's obvious that there is a lot of love and respect between them, and I loved their teasing. His easy participation in the wedding planning is great. He'd been so sweet and embarrassed when he knocked Bonnie over those times, and then blown away by how beautiful he thought she was. He's a little worried about how fascinated he is by her. He is eleven years older than she is and well past the stage in life where he sees her. But he can't resist trying to spend some time with her and is happy to find her amenable to the idea. He does make it pretty clear that he's not looking for any kind of commitment. I really liked the way that he doesn't get mad when she isn't always available to go out with him, or when something happens to mess up their plans. When he suddenly starts seeing her in a different way it kind of freaks him out and he says some pretty stupid things to her. It took a little while for him to realize just how idiotic he had been, but I loved the way he came out of it at the end.
I loved Paul's daughter Cassie. She is one of those girls that really has it all together. I loved seeing her tease Paul about everything from his eating habits to his clumsiness around Bonnie. I also liked her not so subtle way of pushing them together.
Bonnie is the co-owner of the inn where Paul’s daughter is getting married. There are sizzling attractions between them but they don’t know how to handle them. Bonnie is basically working 24/7 in the inn besides her siblings. She basically run the day to day operations of the inn while the others focuses on different aspect of the business. She have no time for relationship. Paul, on the other hand, is about to go back to singleton soon after his only daughter married. He suddenly have time for himself and is looking forward to it. With the deepening of their relationship, Bonnie doesn’t know what to expect. She knows she is falling for him and want more than he can prepare to gives.
This book is filled with fun and emotional moments. I do admit that at times, I find the story pace too slow for my liking. Bonnie is the strong character in this story. She is the driving force in opening the inn and taking care of its needs. She is so strong that she told Paul off when he decided to breaks things off when things are getting too much for him. While I really like Bonnie’s character, I find Paul’s character too good to be true in reality; a perfect father to his daughter and friend to the mother of his mother. I find that the author has overdid Paul’s character in this story. Overall, it is good read for me
I received a free copy of A Proposal at the Wedding through a Goodreads Giveaway. This romance is not my genre of choice but have given it a 3 star rating as I am certain there are people out there who would really love this romance.
A Proposal at the Wedding is a well-written book. It is a quick, easy-to-read story but it did not ‘grab’ me. There are several fun-filled and sweet moments, as well as emotional moments, in the story. The story line moved along nicely but was predictable and I found it to be quite shallow. I could not understand why the author included the motorcycle crash which introduced two new characters and then they disappeared just at quickly, never to be heard from again.
The two main characters of the story are Bonnie and Paul. Bonnie is pictured as tender hearted, sweet, strong and in possession of much ‘grit’. She was instrumental in getting the inn reopened and functioning again, and she certainly was the backbone of the day-to-day operation of the inn. Paul is painted as striking, handsome, kind and caring. He is a wonderful father to Cassie even though he was a very young father when she was born. He remained involved in her life throughout and was always very helpful, considerate, dedicated to and respectful of both Cassie and Cassie’s mother, Holly. The relationship between Paul and Cassie was very refreshing. The author did a good job of character development in this story ............... especially Bonnie.
I would recommend this story to lovers of romance and to anyone wanting a light, quick read.

Second book in this Bride Mountain series, and it was just as good as the first book. Love the Inn and its description brings it to life. Wilkins keeps the series alive with her plot. I wanted to go biking, hiking, horseback riding and walt to a Cafe. I give this book 5 stars.
Bonnie Carmichael, her sister Kinley, and her brother Logan own and run the Bride Mountain Inn. One bride who has chosen her inn for the location of her wedding is Cassie. Bonnie doesn't have time to bother with a relationship until meeting Cassie's father, Paul Drennan. As the two try to find time in their schedules to get together, they begin to develop feelings for each other. Will it work when they both live very different lives, and Bonnie's main focus has been her inn?
This book was a cute and quick read. Bonnie is a hardworking woman who doesn't let anything get in her way. She is afraid to open up to anyone after watching the failed marriage of her parents and her sister. As she begins to fall head over heels for her client's father, she is battling the instinct of putting up walls and protecting herself. The book has a very happy ending and was a fun summer read.
I received a copy of this book for free through Goodreads First Reads.

A Proposal at the Wedding is a snooze. It moves at an exasperatingly slow pace. Author Gina Wilkins spends too much time having the characters get to know every detail of each other's lives, rather than letting their chemistry carry the story. A subplot involving a motorcycle crash (of which the victims, mind you, are completely new to the story and are never mentioned again once the subplot concludes) does nothing to enhance the connection between Bonnie and Paul, yet Wilkins gives it much more dramatic heft than it deserves. A Proposal at the Wedding has some sweet moments, but they are few and far between. I sped through most of the book, hoping to find something worthwhile in the next page I read. I usually wound up disappointed.
When I received my copy of A proposal at the Wedding I couldn't wait to read it. The story of Bonny and Paul is just perfect for this book, she owns the inn where his daughter is to be married, how can you not want them to fall in love together. The way the author wrote their story is just perfect, had to read it all at once, couldn't seem to put it down. I wanted to know when they would be together next and what the proposal at the wedding would be like. Now will surely be looking out for more Gina Wilkins books, probably starting with Matched by Moonlight the first book of bride mountain.
I'm a fan of Harlequin. I LOVE most of their books and this one of them. This is the first book that I have read by Gina Wilkins. I see it is part of a series and I will have to go and read them. This is a fast easy read. Romance and Emotional. I love characters of Paul and Bonnie. I love the relationship between Cassie and Paul. Can Paul give up his "freedom"? He doesn't want to anything to do with commitment..
Awesome read! OMGoodnees on the next in the series it's all about Logan! He seems like a protective big brother to Bonnie. I have to read that one.
A Proposal At The Wedding is the second book in The Bride Mountain series. This one is about Bonnie the youngest sister. She deals with the food and any problems the guest might have at the Inn. She meets Paul, the single dad of Cassie who is getting married at the Inn. When their eyes first met there was something there between them. It shows the ups and downs of a relationship when one is so much into there job which Bonnie is. A lot goes on in this Romance story. I enjoyed it very much. Looking forward to the brothers story.
I received this book from Goodreads, in exchange for an honest review. Slow pacing and, for me, too much narrative detracted from the story. The characters were fine. I'm curious what will happen with the brother. The ghost was a cute addition. I didn't feel much chemistry between Bonnie and Paul. It was a pleasant story.
"Set in the rustic, picture-perfect Blue Ridge Mountains, Wilkins' May-December romance between a true-blue hero and tenderhearted, spunky heroine is sweet and heartfelt. Their lovemaking is awesome, and their journey to happily ever after is sublime". (RT Book Reviews, rated 4 1/2 stars)
I won this book in a contest. This is my first book by her and I love it. Very sweet story. I love that the book didn't have to be filled with sex to make it work. Relationships take more than sex and this book shows that. I will definitly recommend this book and look for more books from Gina Wilkins.
First off, while this book is part of a set, and I did read the first book, I felt this was very stand alone. I thought Paul was great, the perfect dad, ex, boyfriend, student, everything. Bonnie really brought the heart into the Inn. Very feel good book. Loved it and can't wait to read Logan's story.
not my speed. DNF'd at 25%. I found myself skipping descriptive passages. should know better than to read about a chef at an inn! 3 stars because I am sure it is a lovely book, if you like this sort.
I enjoyed this quick, romantic read. I liked that it wasn't your typical protagonists, but characters with unique pasts and interests. This was a great summer, beach read!
