Quincy’s trying her hand at writing a script based on the murder mysetery she solved. She's taking care of her boys, wearing a pumpkin orange maid of honor dress for Tiny’s wedding, and oh…she’s got another case. Someone stole Mac’Cleaner clients’ artwork, and Quincy’s employee is under suspicion. Not just the employee, but the entire business.
This is one LA maid who’s got a lot on her plate in Holly Jacobs’ second Maid in LA Mystery, Dusted.
Holly Jacobs leads a life full of romance and adventure. From skydiving to jet-setting around Europe, from snorkeling in coral reefs to writing while wearing beautiful silk peignoir sets and popping chocolate bonbons, Holly Jacobs leads a life that is the epitome of romance...
Well, my fictional life sounds more interesting, but not better than my real life. Really, I'm the happily married mother of four. I cook a lot, garden and weave baskets! I write for Montlake Romance and Harlequin. My books range from lighthearted comedies to more serious dramas...but at heart, they're all stories of love.
I don't always set out to write a series of books, but seem to find myself gravitating to them. Because so many people have asked, I've posted lists of all my series in order at www.hollyjacobs.com/bookseries.html. I really try to make each story stand alone, but many of my readers enjoy reading the series in order. Hope this helps!
Thank you to everyone who's picked up a single book, or more of them. I'm so lucky to be surrounded by so much support!
Another great fun read. The business of her last case has now settled down when she gets a frantic call from one of her employees. An artwork has fallen and ripped! To make matters worse it is a forgery, then matters take another nosedive when more clients turn up to have forgeries to. Although she's been warned off by Cal and the detective working the case, she still starts looking into it. After all the business and their integrity is being questioned. Plus with Tiny's wedding coming up she doesn't want any dark clouds on the horizon. Can she solve the case? Can she play matchmaker? Can she forge a real relationship with Cal? Brilliant plot, great humour and wonderful characters. What more do you need?
Staff member, Theresa, the one who called in sick when Quincey had to sub for her and found Steve Banning’s body, this time has ripped a painting. When it was sent to the art restorer’s it was learned it was a forgery. Three other clients of Mac’s Cleaning have also had paintings stolen. Now, Quincey Mac is back in detective mode to save her cleaning business.
After reading book 1 I wanted to more. So once again Holly Jacobs has provided me a clever mystery with great characters and fun dialogue.
This book has been written well I liked the caricatures this is the second book in the series. Quincy is back to solve another mystery about a picture has been damaged at a client's home.....oh no more trouble To be figured out. Holy Jacobs does a great job making her stories very Interesting. Enjoy
In book #2--Quincy once again finds a crime related to her business that needs solved. The main characters from book #1 make a reappearance in book #2 along with increased romantic interest from Cal. This time the crime centers around art and art forgeries. No more or their will be spoiler alerts.
This is the first series I have read by Holly Jacobs, and this is even better than the first It is well written with mystery and a lot of humor. This is an enjoyable read and I am looking forward to the next.
Quincy Mac's life is a very busy one! One of her best friends and business co-owner, Tiny, is getting married in a matter of weeks. Two of her teenage sons are busy acting in and directing a play. She's writing a screen play about a murder she recently solved. She's managing her own business - a maid service. She's planning to adopt her ex-husband's soon to be ex-wife because she's just so sunny and lovable. And, she's adjusting to life with a new love while trying her hand at playing match maker. In the midst of all of the chaos, one of her employees knocks down and consequently damages a client's painting while dusting. What was thought to be a priceless painting is discovered to be a forgery. Initially, this is good news for Quincy's business - until other forgeries are discovered and her employee (and thus the business) become the primary suspect. Once again, Quincy investigates. But, this time, she has the help of her writing mentor and an unexpected visitor. I truly love this series! Not only are the characters likable, but the pace is good. I really enjoy how she works fictional sleuths into the story. Once again, my personal favorite, Trixie Belden, is mentioned a few times, which keeps me happy. I also enjoyed the positive bond portrayed between mother and sons. I look forward to reading more by this author!
This book was just as delightful as the first in the series..I love a good mystery and sometimes I just want one that is light and can give me a lot of laughs..Quincy Mac and the others are all back and this time one of Quincy's employees has damaged a frame of an expensive painting..It turns out it's a forgery which leads to other paintings being discovered as forged..Quincy is going all out to solve who did this,so her business and employee is cleared from being involved..Her partner and good friend Tiny who has been planning her wedding gets married in this book..Highly recommend it!!
3/11/14-3/18/14 This is book two of the Maid in LA series and I loved it! The characters are really growing on me and I can hardly wait to dive into book 3.
In this book, Quincy has the task of saving the reputation of her cleaning business and figuring out who is stealing valuable paintings from the homes of her clientele, and replacing them with forgeries. A fun read!
Having been entertained by "Steamed", Book 1 in the series, I was prompted to read this one, as well. I didn't reach the same level of enjoyment, though. Holly Jacobs writes with humor and with incidents that a mom can relate to. I happen to agree with her "cop boyfriend", however, that she should stick to the housecleaning business and leave the sleuthing to the experts.
# 2 in the Maid in LA Mysteries. No murder this time. But a painting is damaged during a cleaning and it turns out to be a forgery. Quincy is back on the case to clear her business's name.
