History can be a boring and tasking subject to learn in school for most kids. But what child wouldn't want to learn about the first written language or who started the studies of science and math? Well, okay still seems a little boring. How about the Ancient Indians who wrote fables and stories? Kids will have fun learning about doctors, musicians and dances from 322 B.C.

Empires and rulers in ancient times created havoc amongst the peoples. Slave trades started in 1441. In Africa, 1948 Apartheid forced people into white and non-white racial groups. Pancho Villa and Emiliano Zapata were two famous heroes of the Mexican Revolution. Wars and revolution have caused up-rises around the globe in history.

A modern timeline of world events is listed from the 1700's to the present day. Young readers will learn about Neil Armstrong the first astronaut to walk on the moon. Martin Luther King Jr. and his freedom marches, Indira Gandhi the first woman prime minister of India, along with so many more can be found here too.

The glossary of terms in the back will have young readers mastering history in no time.

Another fantastic offering from Anne Zeman. The colorful, easy-to-read format is appealing and even easier to use. I hope to own all the books in her series because they are of great value.
