Fun, romantic and sexy!

Just in time for Valentines Day, Confessions of A Secret Admirer... three romantic, sexy stories from three talented authors!

1. Waiting For You by Jennifer Ryan

Waiting For You is the prequel to Ms. Ryan's new series, The McBrides. It's a second chance romance with a twist, which I enjoyed. I find that this author's stories are either hit or miss with me, and I'm happy to say this one worked. Though I struggled through the beginning which read like it belonged right in the middle of the series, with a storyline that had me wondering what book I had missed, by the end everything was made clear, and I was thrilled for Grant and Taylor's happily ever after!

This has the makings of a great series!

2. Sweet Fortune by Candis Terry

In my book, Candis Terry ranks right up there with Jill Shalvis when it comes to writing charming, funny, sexy, small town contemporary romances, and stories like Sweet Fortune are why. Sweet, Texas is a close knit place where friends are like family, and family is everything. Sarah and Brady had me grinning from ear to ear with their witty banter, and fanning myself with their sexual chemistry.

Without a doubt, Sweet Fortune is an awesome addition to the Sweet, Texas series and further solidifies Candis Terry's place on my 'must read author' shelf!

3. Major League Crush by Jennifer Seasons

Jennifer Seasons' Diamonds and Dugouts series is one of my favorites. The stories are fun, romantic, very sexy, and this sweet little novella gave me the quick fix I was looking for from Colorado Rush MLB player, Drake. Bertie is a quirky woman who made me smile with her dry humor and quick wit, and I loved how she transformed from a woman who just fantasized about her happily ever after to one who went after it! The ending was a bit abrupt, but I'm hoping we'll see more of this very special couple.

My thanks to Avon Books for providing me with a copy of this Valentines Day anthology for review. It truly was a pleasure!

I admit, I kind of jumped on the secret admirer part of the title, not realizing these were Valentine's Day stories. They were just okay, only one of the three actually had a secret admirer who communicated anonymously. The third story was my favorite, about an awkward nerd girl with a crush on the guy across the hall of her apartment building. Listened audio-style, decent narrators.

I only read the Candis Terry and found it okay. We have a commitment shy and burnt once before hero and we have a shy heroine who really likes the hero. I find most novellas have the very difficult job of delivering a believable romance in so few a pages. I just didn't connect with the characters much I guess.

LOVED this Anthology....Each story on it's own was fabulous, but put them all together, and they were so so much fun to read!! V-Day will be all the more "Sweeter" if you read this book!!

Full review

You know when you get an Anthology you might get one good story of the bunch...Well... So not the case here...For ONLY $1.99, you are getting THREE Sweet, Funny and Heart-Warming Romances that will leave you light-hearted and smiling long after you have read the last page. We are talking Three Sexy, Sometime Moody, Sometimes Broody Heroes, with hearts of gold, and some sassy, "I'm gonna get my man" heroines.

In WAITING FOR YOU by Jennifer Ryan, we get a Second Chance Romance that will steal your heart, and I was thrilled that it was an introduction to Jennifer's New Series, The McBrides (can we say SQUEE). Grant and Taylor have some unresolved issues from their one night together, and if might just take that special "love" in the air to finally get these two together after all the years they were apart! Emotional, and Sweet...you might need a tissue on hand!

In SWEET FORTUNE, Sarah Randall, our shy little Sarah is coming out of her shell, and if you can go big...go home...right? Well, she is going for the biggest Bachelor in town, Deputy Brady Bennett (OH MOMMA), and once she sets her mind to something, well, let's just say she has a very "creative" way to show the man she wants, that she cares!! If you haven't read Candis Terry's Sweet Texas Series, well, ya need to do that now, but you will understand that SWEET FORTUNE is just another Fabulous addition to the series, and you will be laughing, swooning and maybe a bit of panting...waiting for these two to get together!! Valentine's Day has never been hotter (than Deputy Bennett)!!

In MAJOR LEAGUE CRUSH by Jennifer Seasons, one of my favorite secondary characters from the Diamonds and Dugouts Series, Drake Paulson, finally meets his match in his "not quite his typical type" neighbor Bertie. She is short, wears glasses and has a snarky attitude, but little does he know, she has been crushing on him for years. Drake just might be in for the most important inning with Bertie, and it will take a lot of convincing to get her to convince her that he is the "Real" Deal!! Loved it!!

I loved this collection of short stories from three of my favorite authors. Every story either continues a successful ongoing series or leads into a new one. They all make me want to go back and read the other books.
In Waiting For you by Jennifer Ryan, Grant has returned to town and meets up with Taylor the girl he let get away. Taylor isn't happy to see Grant return but he is determined to bring her around and finally get his heart's desire. This book also introduces Rain, the heroine in Ms. Ryan's first book in her new McBride's series.

In Sweet Fantasy by Candis Terry, Sarah had moved to Sweet Texas to work on a reality series. Now that it is over she needs to decide what she is going to do with her life. Hunky deputy Brady makes her realize that maybe Sweet is where she wants to stay. The Sweet series has been great fun to read and this story is a nice little addition.

The final story is Major League Crush by Jennifer Seasons. Roberta has had a crush on her neighbor Drake, a professional baseball player for the Rush. "Bertie" has even mirrored her crush on the syndicated comic strip she writes. When Drake and Bertie finally meet they discover that reality can be better than fantasy. I loved the humor in this book and look forward to future Rush stories.

When I first saw this anthology come available for review, I immediately knew it would be a must read! I am absolutely in love with Candis Terry's Sweet series, so to see a novella by her was reason enough to snag this. I have been wanting to read books by Jennifer Ryan and Jennifer Seasons for awhile now, so to get a taste of their writing through these novellas was awesome. I will definitely be picking up their other books soon! All of these stories are cute, sweet, and have just the right amount of steam and romance to prepare you for the holiday of love.

Waiting For You by Jennifer Ryan tells of a woman named Taylor who has come back to her hometown to help take care of her now deceased grandmother's ranch, as well as run her grocery store. Running into Grant Devane reignites old feelings she's just barely been able to push below the surface. Yet she has also been hurt by Grant and is unsure of how her coming back into town will affect the two. Grant realizes he made a mistake with her and wants nothing more than the chance to rectify it and make her his. However, Grant certainly has his work cut out for him. He has a lot of explaining to do in regards to why things happened the way they did between the two of them, but he is determined to not let her get away this time. I really enjoyed both Grant and Taylor and watching him go to the lengths he did to show her how he really felt (and had felt all along) was really sweet.

Sweet Fortune by Candis Terry was probably my favorite of the three, but that's because I am already so invested in these characters! I was rooting for shy Sarah to find a love of her own ever since the first book in the series Anything But Sweet. Sarah has always been on the shyer, not so adventurous side. She doesn't have the bonds that her friends in Sweet do to their families. Yet, she does know she's tired of just sitting on the sidelines. I admire her so much for realizing that her life wasn't what she wanted and that she was going to grab the bull by the horns and take charge of it. Moving to Sweet was impulsive, but necessary for her and while she sees herself the way she does, I saw a girl with guts. As Valentine's Day nears, she doesn't want to let another year pass her by without love. After seeing the Sweet's Valentine's Day Most Wanted and finding Deputy Brady Bennett listed, she decides to take a chance. She doesn't think he would go for a girl like her, but she is willing to give it her best shot.

Brady is attracted to the sweet, vulnerable blonde, but is quite jaded when it comes to love and relationships. He vows he won't go down that road before, as it only leads to heartbreak and betrayal. Yet, Sarah manages to insert herself into not only his life, but his heart.

Terry does such a great job of bringing the sexual chemistry and I loved watching Brady and Sarah together. The thought of her being with someone else sends him into a jealous rage, which is his number one clue that he's already in pretty deep.

I also loved getting to see Charli and Reno again! They were the reasons I fell in love with this series to start, so it was great seeing them together and helping their friends.

Finally, Major League Crush by Jennifer Seasons ended the anthology and I loved the witty, quirky humor she inserted into her novella. Bertie Cogswell is not at all like the beautiful, statuesque women that frequent her drop dead gorgeous neighbor's doorstep. Instead, she is a bit a of nerd and with her curves and glasses doesn't attract many men to her own door. Yet, Bertie has character and she has heart and that is what made me love her. Some of the things she said had me cracking up at how awkward she was! She never in a million years expected her neighbor Drake Paulson, baseball player extraordinaire, to notice her. Drake is currently on hiatus from the dating pool, tired of the usual women that he associates with. He wants something real and when the adorably quirky Bertie ignites something in him he never expected to feel with someone like her, he can't deny that he wants her. Spending even a few minutes with her, he can tell she's different and it's like a breath of fresh air. He has harbored a crush on a comic strip artist for years and even though he's never met her, he's fallen for her wit and humor and he can't get enough of her strip portraying a baseball player and a nerdy almost stalker girl who lives across the hall. Sound familiar? Minus the stalker part, you've got it! Watching Drake put two and two together was quite amusing and several shades of HOT.

It was so much fun watching the two together, especially since Bertie knew she was way out of her league when it came to Drake. I hated her self doubts and insecurity, but I can understand where she was coming from. For someone who has never had men knocking down her door, she has a hard time discerning whether he feels something true or if he's making fun of her. What she doesn't realize is that Drake is a genuine, good guy even though he seems a bit insincere at first with all the 'girly' and 'girl' he uses with her.

If you are looking for some heartwarming romance this Valentine's Day, this anthology will definitely satisfy you and leave you high on love and all things sweet and sappy.

4 stars for this anthology and five stars for SWEET FORTUNE, a Sweet, Texas novella by Candis Terry.

I’ve chosen to review only one of the three novellas, although all three are worthy of reading and make this anthology an absolute delight and a must read if you love the whole secret admirer idea but time constraints force me to choose only one. I cannot resist choosing the one that I favored the most and the winner is ….

SWEET FORTUNE by Candis Terry features the characters introduced in the Sweet, Texas series, which if you haven’t read them yet then read this wonderful novella and fall in love with the incredible characters that live in Sweet, Texas for you’ll never wish to leave once you do.

Sarah Randall, former assistant to Charli Brooks who we met in ANYTHING BUT SWEET and won the heart of the amazingly gorgeous Reno Wilder, sigh, but I digress. Sarah went home to L.A. but without her boss and friend, Charli, or her job, life was in need of a change so she returned to the place that felt like home to her – Sweet, Texas. It’s also the place, where a certain Deputy caught her eye and her desire.

Brady Bennett has been burned by love and worse, he was burned by love on Valentine’s Day so anything that smacks of hearts and roses and that particular day just darkens his mood. And he despises surprises, so when a ‘secret admirer’ starts leaving homemade fortune cookies wrapped in heart covered cellophane with sprinkles, he is not pleased. Fortunately, a sweet, exciting, and very sexy new waitress at the diner brightens his day with her adventurous and flirtatious ways.

SWEET FORTUNE, a Sweet, Texas novella by Candis Terry is absolutely a deliciously sweet addition to this wonderful series. Brady is right up there on the sexy heat scale with the Wilder brothers, and Sarah is another heroine by Candis that you can’t help but wish to have as a best friend. As usual, we’re treated to the greatest collection of delightful characters ever created. I love visiting the town of Sweet, and I love how these characters pull you into their story as if they’re asking you to pull up a chair and stay awhile, which is something I love to do.

If you read CONFESSIONS OF A SECRET ADMIRER, a Valentine’s Day Anthology for any reason at all, I highly recommend it’s to read this wonderful story about giving love another chance because you’ve met the right person and finding that love can truly heal scarred hearts. By the way, the other two novellas are just as good as this one and well worth the reading as well. So go for it and at less than two dollars for ebook anthology, how can you go wrong.

I purchased this one for my own personal reading but my review is still honest and unscripted - even though this wonderful story was dedicated to me. It did not in anyway sway my opinion.

A review copy was provided for an honest review. Confessions of a Secret Admirer Anthology has three romantic and quirky stories wrapped in one sweet book. Now normally I don't read anthologies because they're too short but I couldn't pass this one up. There are a talented trio of authors who have their novellas featured which is why I figured I'd give it a shot, and I'm very happy I did! The first short story Waiting for You by Jennifer Ryan is a cute tale about how two friends and former lovers reunite after many years apart. I liked it, Ryan gives dual perspectives and reignites their chemistry for Valentines Day.

Sweet Fortune delivers the goods—literally. There has never been a story by Terry that I didn't completely enjoy. This time Charli's young makeover assistant Sarah Randall gets her shot at falling in love, but instead of it being with a Wilder it's with the town's handsome Deputy Officer Brady Bennett. Is it wrong that I wish that Sarah and Brady's story was full length?! Brady's packing heat in this heart-stealing novella. The characters are alive on the pages and the town of Sweet is just what it claims to be.

It's baseball season! Or better yet, it's Jennifer Seasons' hot new short Major League Crush about a sexy baseball player! Drake Paulson has got eyes for his shy and peculiar neighbor Roberta whose apartment is right across the hall. Having never noticed this feisty yet socially awkward woman before they find themselves at odds with their feelings. Bertie is keeping a secret that if revealed could destroy any and all relationship potential. This comedic and unconventional romance will have you outright laughing and cheering for Roberta!

This Valentines Day you'll be reaching for this collection! Triple the charm with Jennifer Ryan, Candis Terry, and Jennifer Seasons' delightful short stories. Individually they offer love, laughter, and comfort. This anthology is better and sweeter than a heart-shaped box of chocolates!

3.5 stars - I am only a an occasional contemporary romance reader but I find myself drawn to holiday themed collections and Confessions of a Secret Admirer was just the Valentine Anthology I was looking for.

Waiting for You - Jennifer Ryan - The death of her grandmother brings Taylor back to her childhood home town and back into the vicinity of Grant the man who drove her from town after the hook-up. - This was a decent enough short, that built on foundation from the years of history that the pair had growing up next to each other - the minus to this is that it is a 'big misunderstanding' centric story, the plus is that the heroine decides to take the risk to get past that, when the clues stack up to indicate that everything is/was not as it seemed. (pretty good)

Sweet Fortune - Candis Terry - I fortune cookie is the impetuous for Sarah to take her life in a new direction and to step out of her comfort zone to go after the hunky sheriff in her new town. - I really liked Sarah, she is such a sweetie and it is great to see her come out of 'the woodwork' and capture the sheriff's heart even though he's closed himself off to the possibility of loving again - and that she is his perfect woman even though Sarah doesn't see herself that way. (I liked it)

Major League Crush - Jennifer Seasons - Comic strip writer Bertie is finally noticed by her long time crush and inspiration for her strip, her next door neighbor baseball star Drake. - The charm of this story is Bertie, she's brash and awkward and vibrant and she makes this story fun, and I liked that Drake was in the point of his life that he was ready for a woman with a bit more substance and was able to see beyond Bertie's awkward shell. The time frame for this story is really short, but Drake's secret obsession makes the promise of a HEA still work anyway. (I liked it)

Confessions of a Secret Admirer is a lovely anthology releasing just in time for Valentine's day and features three separate novellas by three seperate & amazing authors. This collection of stories will have you smiling, giggling and possibly blushing as well (I know I was!). The secret admirer theme gives these stories an interesting flare and I lord all three. Someone asked me which was my favorite if I had to choose and I couldn't decide they were all three fabulous.

Waiting for You is my first Jennifer Ryan read and I am going to call it a teaser, because now that I've had a taste of her writing I need to read more! Candis Terry reinforced the reason I love her writing with Sweet Fortune. The story of Sarah and Deputy Brady add to the already amazing Sweet, Texas series. Everyone who follows my blog knows I am a Jennifer Seasons super fan! I love her baseball books and Major League Crush was no exception.. Drake, oh Drake....I would have bought and read this story a full length book too!

If you are looking for a pick me up collection of stories to get you ready for Valentine's Day, grab this book! It is LOVE-ly!

So I loved all three of the novellas in this combination of stories. The first one was full of the past history we love when two people come together, people that went to school together and separated on less than good points. Loved the ending, it was very romantic :)
The second one is also apart of a series, I believe. I haven't read the series yet but I intend to now! ITs a classic, invisible girl decides to move so she can have a shot at not being invisible, and the way she goes about it is definitely cute :) lol
the third and final one is by far my favorite. I loved the back story, they both have crushes on each other, his in a more round about way. but the way he made her believe him was priceless!!! Also apart of a series, and i'm definitely going to read that one too.
All three had passable love scenes, the first not so much, more like a make out session with it skipping over it and going to the morning after. The second and third had only one scene each, with others mentioned but not detailed.
Great romantic reads for Valentines day!

1 star - Waiting for You by Jennifer Ryan
I enjoyed this at the beginning but then the relationship between Grant and Taylor seemed very immature. There was too much headswapping and their happily ever after just came about too quickly. I'd have rather seen their story continue in Rain's book as secondary characters. Unfortunately I will not be continuing with this series.

3 stars - Sweet Fortune by Candis Terry
I love the Sweet series by Candis Terry but this was not long enough for me. I wanted more of Brady and Sarah.

4 stars - Major League Crush by Jennifer Seasons
This was my favourite story in this anthology. I love the Diamonds and Dugouts series and because of that I wish this had been longer because I wanted more time with this Rush player. But I loved their story, it packed a punch, showed great character development in a short time and made me fall in love with Drake and Bertie!

It's so great to read a book and be able to say "Oh my god, she's just like me!" Bertie in the last story, Major League Crush, is awkward as hell, just like me. Only difference between us is that I don't have a hot major league ball player living near me....that would be nice though, lol

Waiting for You-
I didn't like Grant in the beginning. I didn't get why he was treating Taylor like he was. Asshole. My dislike continued and I just couldn't get on board.

Sweet Fortune-
Cute. Liked the humor.

Major League Crush-
Nice transformation and humor.

3 1/2 stars total..

2 good stories 1 not so much..

Waiting For You by Jennifer Ryan. Narrated by Joanna Parker

This was a cute story of a young couple who had sex then Grant ran Taylor off, even though he knew he really loved her, then he had to wait for eight years for her to come back home. Then he had to prove to her that he really didn’t hate her, that he loved her and always had. It was a really cute short story. I really enjoyed it. I liked the secondary characters, too: Seth, Amy, and Rain. 4 Stars

There was explicit sex in this story and the F-bomb was used a total of 9 times throughout the entire book.

As to the narration: I enjoyed Joanna Parker’s narration very much. I would definitely listen to her again......................................

Sweet Fortune by Candis Terry. Narrated by Xe Sands

Another sweet love story. This one was about a Deputy and a waitress who found each other, with the help of friends. Sarah had moved 1000 miles away from her family who were self-absorbed they didn’t even “see” her, didn’t even seem to notice when she moved from California to Texas. And this was about Brody who walked in on his fiancé doing the dirty on HIS dining room table, on Valentine’s Day, so he had a hard time with trust, until he finally noticed Sarah serving him coffee. A cute little story. 3 Stars

There was explicit sex in this book. And the F-bomb was used a total of 9 times throughout the entire book.

As to the narration: Love Xe Sands. Her voices and emotions are perfect..............................

Major League Crush by Jennifer Seasons. Narrated by Andi Arndt

I’m afraid I didn’t like this story that much. I couldn’t even tell you what Bertie looked like, other than she wasn’t all that much to look at. I got the impression she was a little ugly because Bobby Murkus suggested they get together because no one that looked like the two of them would ever find love “they would have to settle.” So, he thought Bertie and he should be “settle” partners. I, also, have no real idea what Drake looked like, either. Other than he had really curly hair that stuck out on each side of his baseball cap. I assume he’s nice looking since authors want to pair a non-descript female with a gorgeous guy, as if that ever going to happen. 2 Stars

Also, this had explicit sex and that fact that the author used the word “pussy” to describe a woman’s private parts tells me I will not be reading anything else by Jennifer Seasons.

And the F-bomb was used a total of 9 times throughout the entire book.

As to the narration. Andi Arndt was just alright for me. Most of the time all she did was read the book and I need more than that from a narrator........................

The first two stories in this anthology were fine, though the Jennifer Ryan did get a little too corny for my taste. But, the third story, the one by Jennifer Seasons was a problem. The premise sounded great: Shy, socially-awkward comic strip creator has a crush on her hunky baseball player neighbor, there's a meet-cute, they're thrown together by circumstances, sparks fly. Unfortunately, it starts off with Bertie (the heroine) referring to her ex as "pervy" because she caught him wearing her underwear. Which, okay, that might be a little "pervy" if he was doing it for sexual reasons (though I would maybe use a word like "weird" or "gross" instead of the oh-so-judgmental "pervy"), but said ex is actually either a drag queen or a trans woman (the author isn't really clear on that and I get the feeling she doesn't know the difference or that there even is a difference). There's a gay best friend who is sooooooo stereotypical it's painful. There's a nerdy neighbor with a crush who is also just a mess of stereotypes (the author might have been going for incel/gamergater/comicsgater, but didn't go beyond describing his looks and his smell—like pepperoni pizza and mint LifeSavers, if I recall correctly— so just made Bertie seem superficial). The heroine refers to every other woman she comes across as "trampy" and...gods, Bertie is just so snobbish and judgmental and casually homophobic that she gives socially-awkward nerd girls everywhere a bad name. It was just bad and incredibly uncomfortable to listen to and I would have given up on it if I hadn't been driving and in no position to muck about with my phone. My apologies to Jennifer Ryan and Candis Terry for being bundled with an author whose story dragged down the rating for the entire collection. (If it were just the Jennifer Seasons story alone, it would be a one-star rating, and that would be generous.)

Waiting for You:

I didn't care for this. Too many contradictions about how well the hero and heroine know each other while also having massive misunderstandings. Also, nitpicking, but the idea of Grant seeing Taylor at her grocery store then driving to her farm/ranch and mucking stalls, brushing horses, fixing plumbing, brushing cob webs from a 20 foot high ceiling while also changing all the broken lightbulbs to then go to his home and prepare dinner for her before she arrives to drop off a gallon of milk - all on the same day - seems a bit much. Then he shows up again bright and early the next morning to remove all the painters tape from her kitchen (she painted all of it the night before), reinstall all of her cabinet doors with new hardware, put all of her dishes back in the cabinets and make her breakfast. All while she was sleeping and had no idea he was in her home. Nah.

Sweet Fortune:

This one didn't really do it for me, either. Sarah pretended to be someone she wasn't. And that's about all I can remember about it. :(

Great second chance.

I bought this anthology for the book by Jennifer Ryan. Loved staying on edge, wondering what went wrong with Grant and Taylor years ago. When will they admit they love each other? Didn’t realize this is the prequel to the McBrides, so now I’ll re read the series. I highly recommend this book.

These short stories were cute

I wasn't expecting these to be Valentines Day related but I guess it makes sense with the book cover and title (and if I read the synopsis) maybe I would have figured it out. Either way these were uber cute and my favorite was Major League Crush.

Health-wise, I haven’t been feeling all that ducky lately, and I’ve been falling behind on my reading. The reason I mention this is that I was browsing my kindle when I noticed Confessions of a Secret Admirer: A Valentine's Day Anthology. I remember being slightly taken aback as I’m not a fan of Valentine’s Day, and it took me a moment to remember why I requested it. I’m a big fan of author Candis Terry, and sometimes anthologies can be a good introduction to different writers. Because the anthology is pretty short (approx. 100 pages), I’ll be brief!

In Waiting For You, Taylor Larsen has returned to Fallbrook after her grandmother passed away, and immediately runs into her ex-, Seth, and his brother, Grant, the brother Taylor never could forget. They were briefly intimate years ago, but Taylor fled after Grant sent her away. Now he wants her back, but is having a hard time convincing Taylor of that particular fact. I thought this was an overly ambitious storyline for a novella, and the lack of pages and character development contributed to the weakness of the novella itself. It was fair, but I thought it probably deserved to be a full book to flesh out the characters and misunderstandings.

Candis Terry has a knack for writing good heroes, and her romances always manage to be both sweet fun. Such is the case with Sweet Fortune. Sarah Randall is at loose ends. Her job working for a reality show has come to an end, and her love life is on life support. When she sees an ad featuring Deputy Brady Bennett, she decides to take a chance and make her move. Brady has been burned by his ex, and hasn’t wanted to get involved with anyone in quite some time. But this changes when he sees Sarah working at the diner as well as at his friend Ben’s store. Sarah is smart, but shy. She’s also very direct and I loved that about her. Brady’s character is one I’ve read many times before, but even so, the story manages to be light and sweet, and this would be a good way to introduce yourself to Candis Terry if you haven’t read her before.

In Major League Crush by Jennifer Seasons, you have Roberta Cogswell who answers to Bertie. A comic strip artist who lives out her crush on neighbor AND baseball player, Drake Paulson, through the pages of the FML, she’s in for the surprise of her life when her neighbor knocks on her door. He invites her to go with him to party in their building and Bertie has a hard time maintaining her composure. From Bertie’s over the top clumsy antics, to her slut shaming Drake’s partners, it was hard for me to like her. There wasn’t anything remotely close to subtle in the novella, and admittedly, I had to push myself to finish this one. I couldn’t find anything redeeming about Bertie… and from her portrayal, I’ll most likely never read anything by this author again.

Waiting for You by Jennifer Ryan- This is a second chance romance, and I liked that the characters have some history. Rancher Grant Devane pushed Taylor Larson away thinking he was doing the right thing and has lived with the regret. Now that Taylor is back in town he will do whatever it takes for a second chance. This was a sweet and funny, feel good romance that made me smile from ear to ear.

Sweet Fortune by Candis Terry- Over the summer I read and shared my thoughts on Anything But Sweet a romance set in Sweet, Texas. This tale takes us back to Sweet, Texas and totally works as a standalone. It shares the romance between, Sarah Randall and Deputy Brady Bennett. Sarah decides to change her fate after reading a fourtune cookie and the tale that unfolded was sweet and tender with moments that made me giggle. Terry brings the small town to life and this is the perfect opportunity to visit.

Major League Crush by Jennifer Season- this was perhaps my favorite because it involves a nerdy girl and swoon-worthy baseball player. While it had a little insta-love, the couple unknowingly shared a history that was unique. I laughed so hard at moments I had tears in my eyes. Bertie with her mouse slippers and foot in mouth comments made me giddy. I closed this one with a huge smile.

If you are looking for a light, fun, sweet romances with happily ever after moments Confessions of A Secret Admirer is sure to put a smile on your face. If you haven’t tried these authors this is the perfect book to test them out. Each tell felt complete although this gal would always love more. The book has several previews and samples of upcoming novels to try as well.

Three stories of romance among modern people with busy lives.

I preferred the first story in which a girl comes home to a town and finds that one guy she used to date is married with a daughter, but his brother whom she also dated is still single.

A story of a girl deciding to go out and find the right man instead of waiting for one, sounds fine but when she goes around leaving her pick secret notes it sounds like stalking, I'm afraid. Just because it's a man on the receiving end it doesn't make this behaviour funny.

The final story did not gel for me at all. If a man has lived in the apartment opposite a single girl for two years, and has found her interesting, how come he never asked her what she does for a living? This girl is writing a cartoon strip for a paper about a socially awkward girl in the big city and if she has been working for a paper for two years, she would have had all the shyness knocked out of her.

All three stories explore the bedroom and at times this felt like the obligatory bedroom scene rather than containing any emotion. That is the main reason why I am not giving this book more stars. However, other readers may enjoy it more than I did.
