Like swimming against the riptide… walking away from her was going to be impossible.
In the blink of an eye, Hudson ‘Riptide’ Ripley's career as a Naval Aviation Rescue Swimmer was over. Becoming a civilian so soon wasn’t in his plans. Moving to St. Simons Island was supposed to be his chance at starting over. His former commander and best friend gave him a place to stay—giving him time to figure out what was next.
He wasn't looking for complications, especially one in the form of his best friend’s much younger daughter. But the chemistry was too much to deny, and Hudson crosses a line he can’t undo. Caught between what’s right and what he wants, he’ll have to decide… fight the current that’s dragging him under or let go and risk everything. A split-second decision might have cost him his career in the Navy, but this time it’ll cost him more.
This time it’s going to cost Hudson his heart.
Caught in the Riptide is part of the Dad’s Best Friend series, featuring deliciously taboo steamy age gap insta-love romances.
"Grab me a shot of whiskey. These books are about tattooed men and guns!"
Welcome to the world of LC Taylor. An International and USA Today best-selling author, who's an unapologetic down-home southern gal, with a bit of a dirty mouth. But... she's never met a brooding hero she didn't love. She writes her men cut, tattooed and tender, for their down, but-not-out ladies, who just need a little love from the right man. When she's not writing her Crossroads Heroes series or indulging her darker desires as her alter ego Dori P, she curls up with a glass of peach crown and her very own sexy tattooed cop on the couch watching reruns of Chicago Fire.

This was a super quick read, but it was cute. I liked both the MMC who had been felt a crap hand and the FMC who also had just had something awful happen to her.
Together, the sparks fly immediately and they’re there to support one another. The steam started a little earlier than is possibly believable, but it was still hot all the same 😉
They got their cute HEA. I only wish the story was longer!

This was really good. I enjoyed the fast pace of this insta-love story, but the emotions just didn't manage to hit right during the love confession. It's probably because of how fast the climax was - pun intended. Also, the drama with the dad was over really quickly after all the dragging out, so it didn't feel right. But I loved the characterisations, the chemistry, the background college drama, and the action scenes in the sea.
Although I liked this book, my main issue was that the hero was a little to laid back for me for being a career Navy Rescue Swimmer. He protected an unknown woman, but couldn't follow-up on any of his job applications or help the supposed love of his life? The best parts of the book for me were the two epilogues.

This book was given a five star rating because it was a very good read and it gave great details and it made you feel like you could really see the hurt and pain displayed in some of the characters scenes. I most definitely would recommend this book to read.
This was pretty good! I’m not a fan of third person POV, but it was done well. Just a few tiny uses of “my” thrown in that confused me briefly. Age-gap / insta love / dad’s best friend Hudson is a hero, regardless of what the Navy says, and I knew Tegan was innocent from her party ordeal too. I’m glad they both got their happy ending!
Allow a long morning for this contemporary steamy adult age-gap forbidden romance set on St. Simons Island. Georgia between 36-year-old Hudson 'Riptide' Ripley and 20-year-old Tegan Grayson.

Wonderful book! I love the entire storyline, and the HEA is perfect. The passion in this story is heartwarming. The relationships are relatable and everything is told in such a way that the reader feels like they are a part of it all.
