A crime has been committed leading to the darkest of Desecrated Bonds; but then… nothing is as it should be when you lose your good half forever, doomed always to be stalked by the ghost of your own guilt.
Drowning in death and the supernatural, our heroine has to protect herself from the destruction caused by her own dark nature and come to terms with a loss so deep it will scar her soul for eternity.
Haunted, can she save herself or will this self-imposed spectre control her fate?
Born and bred in Yorkshire (arguably the UK's best county - especially for a good brew), Rebecca Clare Smith has been crafting stories since she could string her first words together. They used to be stories about ponies being rescued, but now the damsels are a bit darker and a bit braver and a bit less... horsey.
Her stories lurch from tales of werewolves and vampires to dystopian futures and now she's discovered romantasy, too.
When she's not writing, she spends her time running after two strong-willed girls and reading them less dark tales than the ones she crafts. After that, if there are any hours left in the day, she can be found in the wilds of her garden with her own next read.
What a great short story. Read this over my morning coffee and like others have said for such a short story the author has managed to create two characters that just scream out to have a longer second outing (or did they inspire the indigo skies series?). If you haven't read Rebecca's other works and want to get a feel for her style here is your perfect opportunity over a coffee. It might be short but it's a great short story.
A great short read to go with a cup of tea. Rebecca has a fascinating way with words - you're drawn in from the first line and you just don't want it to stop. Absolutely loved the premise of this story, and two very interesting characters were created in such a short time. Actually, I kind of want a sequel...

I find it completely unfair to rate my own books, but I would love to say thank you to those that have read Desecrated Bonds and to those that intend to - especially if you've left a review to let me know what you thought.
I hope that those who have enjoyed my work will go on to enjoy my further pieces such as Preying On Time and Breaking Cadence.
