Have to love stories about cowboys. Ruggedly handsome with their drawls and yes ma'ams.

The first story, V Is for Vindicated by Maggie Wells, was well done and both characters were fiesty and sexy. Michelle is a barrel racer and Cole is her ex-flame that left when he felt he wasn't good enough for her after getting himself busted up. I love that there was humor as well as heat.
I really enjoyed the second story W Is for Wanted by Ginny Glass. Samuel comes home to settle his father's estate and reconnects with his first love, Merrit. Somehow he needs to make her understand why he felt he had to leave her 15 years ago.
The third story, X Is for XXX Ranch by Maggie Wells and Emily Cale, had a entertaining premise as we find Jane inheriting a ranch from the mother who gave her up for adoption. She soon learns it wasn't the type of ranch she was expecting but a brothel. She becomes close with Clive, her mother's neighbor who helps shed light on her parents. They find out that they both have similar ideas for the land and maybe mixing business and pleasure may be a enjoyable way to go.
The fourth story, Y Is for Yearning by Christina Thacher, seemed a bit disjointed to me and I felt the conflict between Ben and Diana seemed forced.
Finally, the fifth story, Z Is for Zeal by Emily Cale, was a story about Aaron a rancher and Nathan a rodeo rider. I found that the m/m just wasn't my cup of tea and at time I found Aaron too feminine

This was one of my favourite volumes in the Love Letters collection!

V Is for Vindicated by Maggie Wells took first spot as far as the individual stories go. Sexy, sassy, and satisfying from beginning to end. Cole and Michelle had smokin' hot chemistry and a romantic history that hooked me from the get-go. - 5 stars

W Is for Wanted by Ginny Glass had all the right ingredients for a perfect romance. Loved the way the story jumped back and forth in time because it was done very effectively. Hotter than hot love scenes made it a real page turner. - 5 stars

X Is for XXX Ranch by Maggie Wells and Emily Cale was another delicious read. The set-up was stellar, but at times the story felt disjointed and the pace fell flat. Overall an excellent addition to the volume. - 4 stars

Y Is for Yearning by Christina Thacher had a quick and exciting start, but really fell off at the end for me. I loved the premise, and I think a lot more could have been done to keep the passion burning beyond their heated looks in the diner. Instead of intensifying, their chemistry seemed to fizzle out in the bedroom. - 3.5 stars

Z Is for Zeal by Emily Cale had an interesting enough story, but again it was hard for me to get through an M/M story. I never felt any sort of emotional connection to the characters. They felt very one-dimensional to me. The conflict was lacking too. - 3 stars

As a whole, I've truly enjoyed the Love Letters series, and this particular volume went out with a bang!

Who doesn't like a hot cowboy?

The first two stories in this anthology were a bit of the same thing: Woman/Man comes back to town adn reunites with a former flame who broke their heart. Sure it's been done over and over again, but I still love this premise and these two stories were solid additions.

The third story I want to be made into a full length novel complete with cooky and angry characters from town who might make life more fun and also a bit of a pain for the main characters.

The last two were misses for me and I actually don't even remember what they were about except the last one was a m/m story and that's just not my thing.

I still love these Love Letters anthologies!

Fed My Cowboy Love Addiction

Cowboy Command came into my TBR pile at a perfect time. I was so pinning for some cowboy loving stories. Love Letters: Volume 6 Cowboy Command did not disappoint.

Broken up into different cowboy stories, this anthology started off with:

V Is for Vindicated by Maggie Wells
Barrel-racing queen Michelle Kelly likes to ride wild—but her old flame Cole Powell might have what it takes to rope the woman he loves once and for all.
Well vindication is exactly what Michelle got!
I could totally feel how attracted Michelle was to Cole while she battled her emotions and maintained her cool around him. Very realistic and her feelings were captured perfectly.
As it turned out Cole needed to tame his own emotions.
I loved reading how these two reconnected and patched up their former fallout with some hot loving in the straw.

I also completely loved that the author understood that the readers would know that the straw is not comfortable for laying around in naked and included that description in her story. For me, that just increased my love of the story. I appreciate when authors make fantasy stories as real as possible.

W is for Wanted by Ginny Glass
When Samuel Thrasher is forced to return to his family's ranch, he doesn't want to revisit his past…except when it comes to Merrit Hightower, who's definitely not the innocent girl he left behind!
I didn't really care for Samuel at first. Although he was a young man at the time, I thought he took advantage of Merrit when he took her virginity and then left town. He knew he had done wrong by Merrit when is was taking every precaution to not run into her when he returned to town 15 years later.
It was nice to read Samuel explain himself and finally have him figure out that Merrit was his soul mate. He was lucky that she was still available all these years later. I probably would not have been as understanding and would have required a lot more grovelling.

X is XXX Ranch by Maggie Wells and Emily Cale
Jane Richardson is stunned to discover that the property she's inherited isn't the working ranch she imagined. Handsome neighbor Clive Boland offers to buy the XXX Ranch—and proposes more than just a business deal.
XXX Ranch would be a great full length novel. Even though it was a short story I felt that a lot of the back story was delivered and Jane and Clive's personalities clearly resonated off the pages. I loved XXX Ranch.

Y is for Yearning by Christina Thatcher
Cowboy Ben Hastings is everything Diana wants in a man. He may be quiet, but their passion between the sheets is anything but. Yet making a place for her in his bed and life may be a challenge…
Yearning was great because it is very close to what I imagine a one night stand would be like. Girl likes boy, boy likes girl, they are attracted to each other and then they mutually create a hot memory. I actually would have been totally fine if that was how the story ended but being a romance, the author opted for the happily ever after.

Z is for Zeal by Emily Cale
Rancher Aaron Lyons hates when tourists take over his local bar during rodeo week—until he meets Nathan Howell, and their encounter turns into a one-night stand neither of them will forget.
Zeal is a M/M story. I have read some really great M/M and I am a fan of the genre. I liked how the Aaron and Nathan became acquainted with each other because it was very realistic. They were two guys that were attracted to each other. It was very normal. I liked it.

V is for Vindicated – Maggie Wells

Michelle and Cole – great second chance romance. Loved how they came back together. It was quick and easy and sweet.

W is for Wanted – Ginny Glass

Samuel and Merrit – Another second chance romance, but this was 15 years in the making and it just didn’t seem as believable. It was way too quick and the reason Sam left was a little unbelievable. His dad was a great man to everyone but Sam, but there was no abuse or anything, just a drunk man having a hard time getting over his dead wife. And Sam thought it was okay to have sex with Merrit and then run off the next morning? In what world? And then 15 years later, she forgives him that quickly? Nope.

X is for XXX Ranch – Maggie Wells and Emily Cale

Jane and Clive – I didn’t really like this one at all. I couldn’t really connect with Jane or Clive and I didn’t really find their sexy time all that sexy. It was kind of blah actually.

Y is for Yearning by Christina Thacher

Ben and Diana – This was cute. Turned out to be a second chance romance within a first meet romance. I liked Ben and Diana. I think it ended too soon. I would have loved to see more of them after they reunited…at least one more chance at sexy times, but it ended in a typical sweet romance fashion.

Z is for Zeal by Emily Cale

Aaron and Nathan – This was really short and not all that interesting. I was hoping that it would be hotter, but I found Aaron and Nathan both very bland. I didn’t really care about their relationship or how things worked out. I was not surprised by the secret that Nathan was keeping and I had a hard time believing that it never occurred to Aaron.

Love Letters 6: Cowboys Command is a five story anthology featuring V for Vindicated by Maggie Wells, W is for Wanted by Ginny Glass, X is for XXX Ranch by Maggie Wells and Emily Cale, Y is for Yearning by Christina Thacher and Z is for Zeal by Emily Cale.

I have quite the soft sport for sexy cowboys so this anthology was really up my street. Some of the stories were better than others, which is to be expected in an anthology, but generally speaking every story was well written and of a good standard.

V for Vindicated by Maggie Wells and Y is for Yearning by Christina Thacher were by far the best of the bunch. They both proved that novella’s are capable of delivering background, character development and a good paced romance. I often find that novella’s lack those all important factors. The others were also entertaining but didn’t manage to deliver either on characters, pace or world building.

All in all Love Letters 6: Cowboy’s Commands is a very entertaining and romantic anthology which I think readers of the genre will enjoy.

Love Letters Vol. 6 Cowboy's Command has 5 sizzling short stories. My favorites were X is for XXX Ranch by Maggie Wells and Emily Cale and Y is for Yearning by Christina Thatcher. I give Christina extra points for knowing what a Chilton's is...Diana works on her vintage car herself...too bad this was just a short story.

I enjoyed this book. Very steamy stuff. Fast paced but well rounded work by all the authors. Just a heads up...last story is a cowboy/cowboy romance. I am going to look for the other 5 volumes and other work by a few of the authors. Just added them to my want to read list!

This 5 author Anthology was just enough of an introduction to the authors to make me seek out their backlist offerings. The stories were: V for Vindicated by Maggie Wells, W is for Wanted by Ginny Glass, X is for XXX Ranch by Maggie Wells and Emily Cale, Y is for Yearning by Christina Thacher and Z is for Zeal by Emily Cale. Each story was well written, with fully dimensional characters, a clearly developed plot, detailed settings, passionate love scenes, and satisfying conclusions. All in all, a very strong presentation. Well done.

Not as good as the rest of the volumes. I enjoy a good western story, but these all ended abruptly.
