I've marked Power in the Promises as "read," even though I'll be reading it for years to come. Of course, I believe that's author Nick Harrison's intent: that this book become dog-eared as the reader returns to it again and again to savor the biblical promises he's highlighted. The book is encouraging, uplifting, and I've already recommended it to several friends. The only reason I didn't give it a five-star rating is that I found Part 1 a bit cumbersome. I appreciated the headers, but think sub-headers would have worked well to smooth out some of the sections. I enjoy the set up of the "promises," utilizing scriptures, a brief perspective paragraph, another paragraph of "self-talk,' a prayer, and then a closing quote.
Nick Harrison offers a wellspring of promises and practical advice to help us apply the richness of God's promises to our lives.
My husband, teens, and I found Harrison's readings to be the perfect faith-boost. We read Power in the Promises as a daily devotional and it recharged our batteries. Some days we read one entry; others, several in one sitting.
Once you tap into the excitement of these well-presented promises, you don't want to stop. Knowing God's promises will inspire you to step into the unknown with confidence, joy, and fresh perspective.
Don't miss this powerful treasury of jet fuel for your day.
