All her life Chante has wondered about two things, her family history and the cat-shaped birthmark on her breast. To avoid the frightening yet sexy man who has been following her, she travels to Jamaica to visit her great aunt and learns more than she ever wanted to know about a strange family curse.
Joshi has always known that he’s destined to mate with the human female who bears the mark of the cat on her breast. Still, his bitterness toward humans has prevented him from claiming his rightful mate. With his species near extinction, he has no choice but to take Chante as his own.

Prologue...
Albert Lawrence was hunted down by a creature and the creature spared his life, but for something in return.Albert can never hunt ever again, and one person from his bloodline will bear a mark of his kind, and he will then send someone to come pick her up when the time is right.
Joshi wants to make Clarissa&Clementine both pregnant with his child in them since his type of species are starting to become extinct.or else he would have to do something far worse than have a strong child from the prowleryn, he would have to go to the human female that was meeant to be his and have a baby with her instead...which would make his child weak with human blood pumping through its veins,and he doesnt want that.
Chante knew someone broke into her apartment, but took nothing? and then later on she was coming out of her office when she saw a guy out there waiting for her.she ran and later on at her house when she was hanging out with Lisa she looked out her window and saw...the guy she ran away from.Chante decides to head to where her aunt lives and have her vacation stay there, away from her home and the guy who was stalking her...or course the guy couldnt have followed her to where her aunt lived,right?
Chante's aunt tells her the story about her great, great grandfather Albert Lawrence...he claims to have been bitten by something that was half cat half-leopard.no-one believed him but somehow aunt dominique did. Albert got crazy and didnt want to get close to a female who will have his curse if he got her pregnant, but he does later on and he leaves.then the female marrys a guy named leon who was her best friend later on, and later on they had another child who later on grew up to have chante's mom and chante's mom later on had chante.and chante had a birthmark on herself and her parents thought that aunt dominique was crazy so they took chante and themselves and moved to the U.S.
joshi tried to go to every female prowleryn he saw and get them pregnant, but each time it was the same result...nothing.His dad had put the curse on albert along time ago and then joshi was born with a mark similar to his would-be human mate.even though the thought of mating and making a human female pregnant to have his weak baby sickened him, he knew he would have to do it to save the extinction of the pack.
I wished that chante didnt go all mad and all when joshi was with another female trying to get chante back because she was with another male.apparently she decided to scare the women away and have sex with joshi.
Later on joshi fights Fergus to protect and claim chante. joshi won and chante agrees to be his mate and move to africa with him.
EPILOGUE...
joshi and chante had been waiting for this moment since they found out from joshi's father that chante was pregnant with joshi's babys. the doctor tells them that joshi and her are having triplets!and their all girls! joshi and chante were so excited knowing that they can raise their three girls up in africa and sometimes in america and their girls can mate with others in the tribe for there to be more hope for no extinction of their kind.

Between 2 and 3 stars...
This was the worst shifter story I had read. Everything looked so fake. I didn't connect with the character, I even didn't like them.
And the way the shifter here shift. To full cat or the other way they prefer more - to stay in two legs but to be covered with fur. I can't even imagine how does this look....
Chante was so annoying especially at the begging. The window was open and she immediately called the police, she saw a man and the same thing again.
I didn't like this book at all..
