Celebrated communicator and revered teacher Truman G. Madsen shares his insights on the life and ministry of the Savior, available for the first time on CD. The same stimulating scholar and speaker who gave us the popular Joseph Smith the Prophet series, Brother Madsen draws on his experience as a former director of the BYU Jerusalem Center and leader of countless tours to the Holy Land to bring new illumination to many aspects of Christ’s unique mission. Topics include Jesus as the Shepherd and the Lamb, His baptism and temptation, and the Sermon on the Mount. The last four addresses deal with the Savior’s final week of mortality. These engrossing talks are sure to bring hours of fascinating listening to all students of the gospel and deepen testimonies of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Truman Grant Madsen was an American professor of religion and philosophy at Brigham Young University (BYU) and director of the Brigham Young University Jerusalem Center for Near Eastern Studies. He was a prolific author, a recognized authority on Joseph Smith Jr., and a popular lecturer among Latter-day Saints. At one point, Madsen was an instructor at the LDS Institute of Religion in Berkeley, California.
So many insights into the teachings of Jesus Christ! One of my favorites relates to the idea of Faith as the mustard seed. It's not a dormant thing because you plant the seed. The faith is as the mustard seed in growth because as we act on his word, our faith grows even as a seed grows
I've enjoyed hearing Truman Madsen's insights on the life of the Savior as our family has been studying the New Testament in the Come Follow Me lessons this year.
This was a pretty good talk series by Truman G. Madsen on the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus the Christ. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the audio quality was sketchy at some points with Madsen giving the talks on location in the holy land. Very insightful and I learned a lot of new things about the savior, being able to see him not only as divine
It was amazing how Truman Madsen could speak so easily and in depth about detailed scriptural passages. The audio was a little muffled in places. Next time, I'll try the DVD series.
