I started off concerned that this was a little dated since it's nearly 15 years old, BUT discovered that it was clearly applicable to my life today. Especially compelling is the way Lysa puts together scriptures in each section to create a message that seemed like it was meant for me. Well-organized and structured and an altogether enjoyable study. It also wasn't too burdensome and was easy to keep up to date since my Bible study group met each week.

There are many good reminders in this one. Our relationship with God isn’t just about reading our Bible, but it’s about growing with Him. Letting Him guide us and follow the path He has set before us.

I started reading this book--along with doing the On-Line Bible Study of Proverbs 31 Ministries, with a little reluctance, thinking I wouldn't necessarily be hearing anything new or refreshing. BUT, I was wrong! I loved this book! I think it would be a great small group book study to do! It even has a video series along with it that kind of elaborates on some of the ideas and stories in the book. Lysa is so earnest and honest and sincere. She is even downright vulnerable in the sharing of her own life story. I really liked the principles about reading the Bible consistently and first thing in the morning, and asking for God to give you something from your reading that day. This was a very good book--excellent choice for a new believer, but also speaks to a mature Christian that may need their quiet times to be refreshed!

This participants guide really helped go through the book slowly enough to focus and learn. It is encouraged to do this along side someone else or a few others. I completed this with a group of ladies.
