Rate this book
Mercy Holland is sure of two things. One – that Noah Ivory is sex on legs. And two – that he doesn't remember her or the night of passion they spent together four years ago before his band, Jagged Ivory, signed their record deal. But when her father, who just happens to be the band's manager, gives her the opportunity to travel with them on tour, Mercy can't help but hope that she and the sexy lead guitarist can reignite an old, smoldering flame.

Playing lead guitar for one of the hottest rock bands in the world has its perks, and Noah Ivory has no trouble taking full advantage of it. He has his pick of the many gorgeous young girls that fall at his feet night after night. But when Jagged Ivory's manager brings his beautiful and sassy daughter along on the European leg of their world tour, the guitar god is suddenly thrown for a loop as the memories of their steamy one night stand come crashing back to him.

Now, all sorts of questions are running through his head. Like how can he apologize for the way he treated her back then? How can he tell her that she hasn't been far from his thoughts since that night? How can he pursue her with her father watching his every move? And most importantly, how can he keep her from falling for his brother?

If you're a fan of rock star romances, you will love the boys of Jagged Ivory!

This book is a quick, entertaining read with several hot, young band members. Mercy Holland met Noah Ivory when she was 18 and they spent one brief night together. Life got in the way, leaving Noah remembering her but he never knew her name. Their band, Jagged Ivory, becomes a hit, and when they go to Europe, they met their manager’s daughter, Mercy. Noah is astonished to see his dream girl after 4 years, who has been the inspiration for several songs he has written and the band performed and recorded.

Mercy’s dad wants her to follow him in his business, so as a college graduation gift, she spends the summer with her dad, touring with the band. The band is made up of Noah’s older brother Otis, his longtime friend Cory, and Buzzy and Benji. As most people do when they become famous, they have their choice of women, and plenty of partying.

I’ve read several books by Ms. Collins and she always keeps me entertained. I loved the characters, the story behind the band with their equipment technicians, road crew, learning the various areas the manager has to handle, and so much more.

If you love rock stars and reconnecting characters, along with plenty of romance, you can’t go wrong with this story.

Jagged Ivory is a band on the up. On the cusp of signing a record deal, we are first introduced to the band as they play the club scene in Hollywood. While playing at one of the bars Noah Ivory frontman of Jagged Ivory meets and spends and unforgettable night with super fan Mercy Holland…so unforgettable that the next day Noah returns to his girlfriend and their on and off relationship.

Fast forward four years and Jagged Ivory is a fully fledging rock band with a string of successful songs and albums as well as a Grammy and we re-join Noah, Otis Cory, Benji and Buzzy as they are about to embark on their European stint of their tour.

Mercy Holland has just graduated from college and what a better graduation present than when her dad announces he would like her to accompany him to Europe for the summer touring with non-other than Jagged Ivory the band he just so happens to manage.

I really enjoyed this book. I love a good rock star romance who doesn’t right? The story flowed, the characters were well developed and had depth, and the story drew me in. I t was a nice quick easy read that left me wanting to read more! Would definitely recommend and I’m looking forward to reading book two in the series.

This is the a free copy for an honest review - Good -Bad - or Otherwise

I have read Lashell's other series about the Kelly Family Cops. This is very much different what I have previously read from this author. I found the characters real and relatable. This is a hard rocker reality show in a book. This is also the first Bad Boy Rocker Book I have ever read. It is well written and the storyline flows to keep you turning the pages and wanting to get to know all the members of this tight nit group.

This is not the sort of book that I would recommend to those who are unrealistic about the music industry. There is literally 'Sex, and Drugs and Rock and Roll' in the word of the song by Ian Dury.

Well! I was given this to read in exchange for an honest review... What a total surprise for me that I would love this story about a popular rock group, the parties & fans, etc... but it did kinda take me back to my day in the late 70's, in many ways ;) LOL ... I did not want to put this down when I had to and couldn't wait to get back to reading more :o ... Lashell has quite the way with words and details making the story so vivid it's like watching a movie, only better!! ... You need to add this to your must read list or better yet, go buy it now for only $3.99 at amazon :)... I'll be getting started on book 2 of this series next :)

Wow. What to say? Really?
Noah, the lead guitarist for Jagged Ivory, is sexy, brooding and a womanizing ass. At least that’s what Mercy thinks. They had a one night stand and then he dropped her like a bad habit four years ago before his band made it big. But she was a loyal fan because she loved the music and she continued to follow his career and the band’s stardom.
Mercy joins Jagged Ivory on tour because her dad is their manager (though Noah never knew this) but their relationship isn’t all rose petals and love ballads. Nope. Tension strikes in all shapes and forms: there’s Noah’s brother who wants Mercy, Noah’s alcohol dependency, other band members and their drug problems, the groupies, and just general mistrust and secrets between Noah and Mercy.
I was totally engrossed in the story but I was a little irritated that it took so long for Noah and Mercy to finally get together. I mean, they kissed for the first time at 60% of the ebook, had sex at around 71% and then they finally discussed the giant pink elephant in the room after they had sex. The frustration and sexual tension they felt toward each other through the first half or so of the book just lasted too long in my opinion and I was dying for them to finally talk. Once they did, however, everything just seemed to fall into place and a beautiful relationship blossomed.
We learned quite a bit about Otis, Noah’s big brother, and Noah’s best friend Cory but not so much about Buzzy and Benji, other than Benji’s heroin addiction. All the guys have indulged in drugs and wild sex with strangers (Cory seems the cleanest), and it’s easy to blame it on the rock and roll lifestyle, but choices are choices and the guys act like arrogant idiots sometimes. But it’s hard for the reader not to get pulled into their heads and see life as they see it. I understand why they are the way they are, and that’s good writing.
Speaking of the writing, the book flowed well and transitioned from chapter to chapter so fluidly that I had to keep reading. I couldn’t put it down. There were some typos, mostly missing commas, and the POV shifted all over the place, from the main characters to the side characters and back again all in the same chapter. It was a little hard to follow at times and to know who was talking or thinking. Even with these problems, I loved the book and the characters. You just can’t help but fall in love with the bad boys of Jagged Ivory.
I haven’t read many rock star romances and this is the first book I’ve read by the author, Lashell Collins. I have the other four books in the Jagged Ivory series waiting on my Kindle and I’ll be sure to get to those soon. (Stay tuned for the reviews.)
4 Stars.

Mercy Holland was a college freshman when she first found the band Jagged Ivory. She knows that one day they will become famous. She and her friends follow them around the club scene of Hollywood. One night, the lead guitarist Noah Ivory, the hottest one according to Mercy, notices her and takes her home. The next day, he gets back together with his girlfriend and never looks at Mercy again. Four years later Mercy has just graduated college and her father, the manager for Jagged Ivory, decides to take her on their European tour with him. What will happen when Noah and Mercy come face to face? Will Noah even remember their night together?

Noah Ivory is the lead guitarist for Jagged Ivory. Four years ago they were playing clubs all around Hollywood, now they are on tour around the world and they’ve won a Grammy. Everything is going their way. However, Noah can’t seem to get one girl out of his mind. They only spent one night together, but he was always attracted to her. He noticed her at eveyr club they played back in the day. That one night changed his life, he felt a connection and it scared him, so he ran, treated her badly and moved on. But he’s never forgotten her. She is the inspiration for all the songs he writes. The song that won them the Grammy, yeah that’s about her. He wonders if she understands when she hears it. He never got her name and he doesn’t believe he’ll ever see her again.

This was a really good story. I enjoyed the tension between Mercy and Noah, the sibling rivalry between Noah and Otis, the lead singer and the strong bond between Noah and his best friend Cory is beautiful. The drug addiction of Benji is heart breaking. So many emotions wrapped up in this book. The relationship between Mercy and her dad Mike is funny at times as he tries to keep her young and protected. (I know what that’s like.) He wants to keep her away from the boys in the band. Unfortunately for him, fate has other plans. This is a sexy book. Lashell knows how to write some hot scenes. I give this book 4 stars with 3.5 hands down the pants. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series Jagged Dreams.

This is the first book I have read by Lashell Collins and I have to say I loved it! Her characters are realistic and her story line flows seamlessly.

This is book one in a series that explores the in depth lives of each of the band members of Jagged Ivory. Book one starts with Noah's story and a connection he had with a fan 4 years ago. Little does he know that the woman he's been thinking about for 4 years and has been the muse for his music is none other than their manager's daughter...the "hands-off" daughter according to manager Mike Holland. He realizes it is her when his manager brings her along on the European leg of their tour in the hopes she will join the company and work with him and as a graduation present for her.

He couldn't believe she was really standing right here, in front of him. His muse. The one night stand who had haunted him in his dreams ever since. The almost mythical creature who had inspired the group's biggest hit to date 'Ms. Enigma.' She was here, and her name was Mercy Holland."

This story introduces you to the band members, the manager and some secondary characters. It was a wonderful read. I can't wait to start Cory's story in book 2! I loved the connections between the band members, some closer to each other than others, yet they still stand as a family in the face of adversity. I highly recommend this book and cannot wait to move on to the next book.

Noah meets this girl one night and they have hot and dirty sex.realizing she is better the. He has ever had and she touches his heart in a a way that scares the crap out of him he runs. 4 years after college Mercy is interning with her dad at his record company.
Mercy is still upset with Noah for leaving her so quickly that hit 4 years ago so she avoids him. The more the band spend time with her the more she realizes maybe she misjudged Noah. Maybe he wasn't a jerk.
Noah realizes his muse is Someone he has to Tour with. And he is trying to stay focused and keep her at a distance. Can two people that it's obvious they are meant for each other avoid each other like the plague. This book was a amazing it offered love the, and leave em, romance, hot dirty sex, and the wild lives of rock stars. But it also offered romance, love, and hopefully a future for Soul-mates if they don't let it passes the,.
I love Noah and I can't wait to read the other member stories hopefully it will get better.

Enjoyable rock and roll love story. Jagged Ivory is a band on the rise at the beginning, then you flash forward about four years to when they've hit the big time and are headed out on an international tour. Noah Ivory is one of the main driving forces behind Jagged Ivory. With his song writing, lyrics, and guitar playing he is a force to be reckoned with before he even takes the microphone. Mercy Holland is one of their most loyal fans and has followed their music since the beginning. She and Noah share a past from the early days and their paths are about to cross again. She is the band manager's daughter and is going out with them on tour so she can witness the managerial aspects firsthand before taking the position her dad has in mind for her once summer is over and she joins his company. I enjoyed the fast-paced flow of this book and the relationships between the band members. I also liked the building of the love story between Noah and Mercy. This was a fun read.

The series follows the lives (and loves) of each member of the rock band Jagged Ivory. The first book is the story of front man, Noah Ivory and the band manager's daughter, Mercy. Mercy has just finished college and is interning with her father's music management company, shadowing the band's summer tour. A Jagged Ivory fan since her early days in college, when they were playing any dive bar they could -- this is her dream job. Except for that whole thing about that one night in college with Noah that she's certain he doesn't remember and the pressure from her Dad to apply to law school when the summer is over . . .

Collins' writing really captures the excitement and pulse of a rock show with the energy of a young heroine searching for her own place in the crowd. It was impossible to read without feeling swept up in the world that the author created.

i really enjoyed this book! We have Mercy, who loves the band Jagged Ivory, especially the lead singer( Mr.Sex on a stick) Noah Ivory. She finally gets her chance with him after a show. The bad thing is, he didn't get her name afterwards but she inspires him to write some of their biggest songs to date. Fate has a funny way of working when Mercy joins her dad on the tour. Mercy's dad Mike, is the bands manager. She is super excited! Noah has been wondering this whole time who his mystery girl is but never expects her to be his manager's daughter. They don't exactly fall madly in love, it takes some time plus they have to hide from her dad until they are ready to tell him. I love how real and relatable the characters are. This is not your typical rock star book

This is book one in the series. Each book we get a great insight into Jagged Ivorys band members.

This is Noah's story and what a fantastic start to the series. Noah Ivory met Mercy when she was 18 and they spent one night together. Jagged Ivory is now a success. The bands manager decides to take his daughter with him. Noah is shocked when he comes face to fave with Mercy, the girl that he thought about a lot.

This is a great book that's kicked the series off with a bang. Looking forward to reading more of these sexy guys.

I looked for another of Lashell Collins books that I could read after I finished the recent Isaac Taylor Mystery series. I found this one Jagged Hearts. This is the story of Noach Ivory and Mercy Holland. Noah Ivory is part of the band Jagged Ivory which his brother Otis started while Noah as still in college. Noah was a natural when it came to playing in the band and in writing songs and helping to produce these songs for the band. Noah met Mercy when their band was just playing gigs around the city where her and her friends were in college at in Los Angeles, CA. She was the one to encourage her father Mike Holland who is a lawyer and owned Holland Management, to take a look at Jagged Ivory and he eventually signed them to a contract and the rest is history. Mercy and Noah had a one night stand which had an effect on the both of them. Noah wrote hit songs because of his time he spent with Mercy and he even one a grammy with one of the songs. This book started off slow and I was trying to figure out where it was going and eventually it just took off and I couldn't get to the end of the story fast enough. I really enjoyed this story and wish that there was a part two to this story, I am just saying. This was definitely a good read and I would highly recommend this story.

Jagged Hearts Jagged Ivory Series Book 1
by Lashell Collins
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Omg this books was so amazing on so many levels. I love reading Lashell Collins books, she is a fantastic author to me and now I am a total fangirl can't wait to read the next book in the series and any other books she has out. Lashell came highly recommended to me by another of my favorite authors but since I'm so excited to read her books. Thank you so much to for giving me this book and making new stalker fan of Lashell. I highly recommend this book the story will captivates you from the first page to the very last page, but you will be disappointed that you are at the end, it leaves you wanting to read more and more. The characters were really well written and they come to life in a three dimensional aspect. You just wanted to this to have a HEA because the characters were so amazing. What started as a crush developed into so much more and in the end even the rocker was hooked and he was such a breath of fresh air. This is not your typical girl meets dream idol rockstar it is so much more. Both of the main characters do so much growing together and they salidify their relationship in so many ways. I cannot think of one character I did not like. Honestly, I'm so happy this is a great start to a Fantastic series because the supporting cast of characters should all have their own stories just as detailed and in depth as Noah and Mercy. All the characters were fun, honest and realistic. I loved the sarcasm and the banter between them all, and they are a group that is funny and they seem like a band you would want to hang out with.

I'm really enjoyed this book. Who doesn't want to read about a bad boy rocker and the good girl that claims him? I when read the first chapter of this book I was hooked. I am so excited to read the next book in the series. because I could not put this book down until I had finished it. This is a enjoyable read and is a great choice for your TBR list. This is the story of Noah Ivory, lead guitarist for the rock band Jagged Ivory, and the love of his life, Mercy Hollande, daughter of the band’s manager, Mike. They meet when she’s at college and have this totally wild night that drop kicks them both out of the park. He reacts in the worst possible way and they go their separate ways. Cue their collision again, several years later.

As rock star stories go, it fits the standard format – lots of partying, booze, drugs and sex. There are also the standard miscommunication tropes and addiction issues. I did like the fact that the author had clearly done her research with the technical aspects of the tour – the required crew, the instruments and the way things are set up. The detail shows.

What sets this book apart is the characters. Mercy is a strong willed girl who has a lot of internal conflicts to deal with – she’s torn in her relationship with her father because of the fallout from his divorce from her mum. She doesn’t know what she wants to do with her life – she’s under pressure from various people to choose a career and study accordingly, but she doesn’t know where to go with it. She’s mostly strong willed and sassy, but Noah absolutely slays her, every time, and she doesn’t know how to deal with him at all. Noah is kind of an odd character for me. While I liked him, I also wanted to tell him to grow a pair and stop being a wuss already. The interplay between he and Otis was good though – having them as brothers was an interesting depth to the backstory of the characters and it was something I could relate to, having three siblings.

The story is very slow to start and a lot of it is world building and technical information. It looks like this was always intended to be a series so I read it in that way and stuck with it. It’s clear that various subplots and character threads that don’t really go anywhere in this book are being set up for later books in the series, so I haven’t deducted any marks from the story for that. I’m looking forward to a progression.

I felt the sex scenes were a little lacking, but in all honesty it’s a tough field in rock star romance/erotica – you just have to look at the likes of Olivia Cunning. There were a couple of moments of brilliance too – the way Noah explains how it feels to write music is really beautiful and I read that passage back a few times.

If you’re into rockstar romances, I’d definitely recommend this book. It’s easy and absorbing reading!

Jagged Hearts is the first perfect installment to a great new romance series. Readers will be wowed from the first page like I was. I choose this novel, because the story's synopsis aught my eye and from there I wanted to know more about what happened. Trust me, once you pick up this story you won't be putting it down anytime soon. This is just the beginning in a stunning series of more hot reads to come. Lashell Collins is one very talented writer! Her words will leave readers in a huge emotional addictive state that never ends.

Jagged Hearts is indeed everything the name suggests. Two souls who happen to find one another by chance and after four years neither has stopped thinking about the other one. Noah is everything women and girls could want in the man of their dreams. A talented and bright individual who is rough on the outside but sweet where it matters most. Noah just got out of a relationship with a girl who didn't believe in him or his dreams. Noah couldn't stand that she didn't trust me him at all. So, he left her and little did he know fate was going to dangle the right woman in front of his nose. Mercy Holland and her friends hung out where Noah and his band played. She loved their music and was a loyal fan. When he hits on her, Mercy takes what he gives. But then things change and he leaves her behind. His band excels and make it to the tops. Every song is dedicated to a woman Noah left behind. However, fate isn't finished with Noah nor Mercy just yet. Noah and his band end up with a manager. A manager whose daughter so happens to be the one girl he left behind. Now, as she is hanging around the band, Noah has to struggle with his hidden emotions and with his older brother hitting on her. Plus, there's her dad who is his band's manager. Can things get better or worse?

I loved reading Jagged Hearts by Lashell Collins. Her characters are just too irresistible and too hot to ignore. The scenes are livid and packed with enough action and suspense to keep readers in all night long. A perfect novel full of heated tension, a love that can or can't happen, and what a band group goes through daily. I highly recommend this romance read to readers everywhere! Jagged Hearts is a must read for all. Overall, I rate it a five out of five stars.

Jagged Hearts (Jagged Ivory, #1) by Lashell Collins

I found this to be a really good book. The characters were well written and fleshed out. I enjoyed the sexual and emotional tension between Mercy and Noah. The competitive sibling love/hate rivalry between Noah and Otis was intense. The way they all felt like they were a family above all else along with the bond between Noah and Cory was so strong and heartfelt. The sex, drug and alcohol abuse they all shared and especially Benji's was so sad. It was so cute and sweet how protective Mike was to his not so "little girl" and how she kept annoying him with calling him Dad one minute and Mike the next. I loved how they all reacted to the big reveal of Mercy being his muse and one true love. I really enjoyed reading this book and have already started the second book.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a deep emotional connection between characters and even in yourself. It's that well written. I don't give out 5 stars unless the book really touched me in some way no matter how well I liked a book for it to get a 5 out of me it has to really be special. I found this book to be that and I think you will also.

Gotta love a good rock star romance! Jagged Hearts was fun to read, the story flow was seamless and the characters were interesting. This book was definitely HEA-romance, with a rock star twist.

On her freshman year, Mercy and her friends discover this new, upcoming band Jagged Ivory, that they start to follow. And one night after a concert, Mercy gets what she wants, spend the night with the lead guitarist Noah. And after amazing night, nothing. Noah returns to his girlfriend and thinks of Mercy no more. Or that's what she thinks...

Four years later their paths cross again and this time, neither of them know what they want. And that's about everything I can say without spoiling the story.

I will recommend the book, simply because it was a good one. Besides being about a romance, this book is about families, brotherhood and frienship. It is well written with good characters and a story, that you have to finish.

This is the first book in the Jagged Ivory series (Noah's story).
You meet Noah the lead guitarist for Jagged Ivory, he has a hot and steamy one night stand with Mercy, who after four years he hasn't been able to forget about. She has been his muse for several hits for his band.
As the band get ready to go on tour they meet their managers daughter (Mercy) who will be joining them. Mercy hasn't been able to forget her night with Noah and is hoping he remembers her, however his reaction to her is avoidance.
I really enjoyed all of the different aspects of this story, it stays true to the drugs, sex, and rock n' roll theme. You also get to know the other band members enough to make you anxious to read their stories.
I love Rock Star reads and this series is my newest addiction.

I received Jagged Hearts as an ARC. The gifting did not determine the review/rating, which reflects my honest opinion. An excellent story --although, if I never read about another eye-roll in my life, I'll be a happy camper-- Eye rolling done way too often by more than one character, so it wasn't a single person's quirk). I'm hoping this won't be expressed so much in coming books, but I'll try number two, as I enjoyed the storyline!

I really enjoyed this book. I found the characters to be warm and real and the storyline was easy to read and to become involved in. The relationships between the band members were as I would imagine them to be, and the relationship between Mercy and Noah, the two main characters is hot and steamy in all the right places! Am looking forward to reading the next one.
