I was looking forward to reading Cory’s story since I’d met him in book 1. I love how Cory and Noah are best friends and closer to one another than Noah is with his blood brother Otis. Friendship and brotherhood play a huge part in the series.
I liked how both Cory and Donna are celebrities in their right and Donna’s movie and TV career was interesting and entertaining. I expected more rock and roll and touring like in the first book but this one focused more on life outside the arena, which was good. It’s different.
The best part of this story for me was the father-son subplot. Cory finding his long lost dad was a great addition to the story and added more drama and depth to Cory’s character.
The Prologue starts with the guys coming back to the States after the European leg of the tour and Cory tells Noah he plans to ask Donna to marry him.
Chapter One begins with Cory and Donna’s divorce three months later.
Chapter Two to the end of the book was how and why the couple broke up. I felt ‘Why am I reading this?’ since I already know the couple is getting a divorce and, since it’s a romance, I know the couple will make up in the end. I didn’t like having the ‘divorce’ spoiler in Ch 1 and I probably would’ve enjoyed the story more had it been linear.
The book was a little hard for me to get into and I couldn't connect well with Cory and Donna. The couple's problems stemmed from miscommunication and, though I teared up a few times, I thought Cory was selfish. I understand why Donna lied to him but, after the truth was out, he should’ve accepted her feelings and not made her feel guilty about it. But I understand he was heartbroken so he acted out like a child. It just didn't make sense to me that they would argue over the same things, again and again, when a good heartfelt conversation would take care of it. But neither of them really wanted to talk. They wanted to yell and place blame.
The writing flowed well and I noticed very few typos. As with the first book, however, there were multiple POV shifts within a chapter with both the main and side characters. I also don't understand why exclamation points are used so often, especially when a character is talking softly or whispering.
For anyone who's experienced Cory's and Donna's problems would probably relate to this book very well. Even though it isn't my favorite book in the series, it's still a good story and the drama/pain/mistrust between the main characters is believable.
3.5 Stars.

Jagged Dreams is a highly recommended read. Romance at it's best. Lashell Collins as done it again by creating a second best contemporary romance that readers will love. Her characters from book one are back and this time it's another band mate and his woman. A man who wants to be a father and a woman who wants to explore her career options before giving her man the dream he wants. But can they make it work or risk losing what they started. A marriage that just begun..between two young talented individuals whose work constantly calls them apart.

Lashell Collins leads her readers thinking if love can still continue beyond the bedroom and fame. Both band mate Cory Dutton and his love of life, Donna Devlin, are struggling with balancing their careers and love life. It's not that they don't love each other to the core, but their goals in life differ. Neither want to give up their current jobs nor settle on a way to make stay happy. Cory wants to have a child and he thought his woman did too, until she tells him that she wants to wait until she sees what her movie career is going to be like. Cory feels like he has been punched in the gut. Meanwhile, Donna doesn't want to lose Cory but she's not ready yet to have a baby. Jagged Dreams is truly a story depicting just how jagged dreams can get if not handled the right way.

I highly recommend reading this brilliantly well written romance and book 2 of the hot sexy Jagged Ivory series. I loved reading this novel. Following the characters from book one and seeing how another band mate and his woman got along was great. Nothing is as easy as it seems. Sometimes, we all need to give up a little more of ourselves and sacrifice things in order to keep what is more important to us. Another beautiful tale to this incredible and highly addictive new series. I am excited to begin reading the next novel and recommend this book to readers worldwide. A perfect romance for all. Overall, I rate Jagged Dreams a five out of five stars.

This is the second book in the Jagged Ivory novels. This story focuses more on Noah Ivory’s longtime friend Cory, and Cory’s girlfriend, Donna. I was excited to still read about Noah and Mercy and the other band members.

Cory and Donna decide to get married after dating for 2 years. Donna is an actress and shortly after they are married, she has to leave to film a movie. Cory wants to start a family right away and Donna had agreed. She has now changed her mind and asks if he will give her two years to work on her career. Cory is heartbroken but agrees with the wait.

While she is filming, her co-star is well known for his affairs with his leading ladies. When she informs him that she is married, he is aggravated and has his assistant take pictures of the two of them, while in their love scenes for the movie. The pictures are leaked to the press, which of course causes problems. He is more interested in his public persona and numerous affairs. With Cory’s and Donna’s careers, things seem to go downhill for them, and they just can’t seem to talk through their problems.

There is some angst in this book and I got a little teary in certain scenes. Again, this is another entertaining read by Ms. Collins and one you will enjoy. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Wow, I loved this book! I am sometimes disappointed when I finish book one and know that book two revolves around a different couple in the series, but this book was great also! And Noah and Mercy and the rest of the guys play fairly prominent roles in this story as well.

We get a glimpse into the lives of Jagged Ivory's rhythm guitarist Cory Dutton and his actress girlfriend Donna Devlin in the first book, but this story delves into the trials and tribulations of two people who live their lives in the spotlight day in and day out. We see them struggle with doubts, lack of communication and it is very frustrating to see them try to resolve these in a long-distance relationship while real life gets in the way too often.

Cory also deals with his past in an unexpected turn of events.

As always, the boys of Jagged Ivory are "brothers" and they are all there to support each other no matter what, which I loved!

I am anxious to start the next book in the series! This was a very good read and I would recommend the Jagged Ivory series!

Cory Dutton is the rhythm guitarist for the rock band Jagged Ivory. He has been with his girlfriend Donna Devlin, America’s sweetheart, for two years. They are deeply in love and even though they are both famous and busy with their respective schedules, they have made their relationship work even when Cory is on tour or Donna is filming. They share a dream, spending their lives together and raising a family. Cory feels it’s time to move the dream along; he’s ready to propose marriage. What happens when they realize the dream they shared is no longer what one of them wants?

I found this book to be very emotional, but that may be because it mirrored my own marriage. This book brought me to tears a few times, but it wasn’t an ugly cry, so it’s ok. This is a beautiful story about compromise and priorities. I really love the way the plot played out and how the story ended. Cory is a wonderful man with a huge heart. I’m not sure I could have forgiven what he did, but in the end he did what he felt was right and made the choice that was best for him. I give this book 5 stars.

This book is about Cory and Donna. They have been Soul-mates and in live for ever this beg an with Cory telling Noah he was going to propose.
Cory heart was wrapped tightly around Donna since he first met her. I loved their relationship because you could tell they were meant together. Donna's biggest probably was she believed what everyone say about Hollywood couples and she was so focused on not having a family yet she was not listening to what Cory needed as well. The biggest problem between them two was communications.
Donna then finally finds out why she has been so emotional but she still doesn't let Cory know. She keeps it a secret then tells him the complete opposite saying she wanted a divorce. This book offered heartache, pain, drama, and some super hot married couple sex!! Wasn't my favorite book but but it had soul and a lot of wonder emotions.

This is Cory & Donna’s story.
They have not long got married & Donna has just branched out into making movies instead of TV shows. They love each other so much, but Cory discovers that their dreams are no longer the same, and starts to wonder if their marriage can survive. Jagged Ivory are going on tour again & Donna is in Canada making her film.
I liked Cory, he is a true romantic at heart, & truly adores Donna.
This wasn’t quite as light hearted as book 1, but still had a lot of humour from the rest of the guys.
I found this a bit more of a tear jerker.
Another great story & I am excited for #3

So this is the second book in the series, Cory and Donna's Story. I must say it took a little bit of getting into it but once I did, it really flowed and it let you know a Cory and Donna so much more. So they just got married and they soon find out that being on the road and doing a movie plus slimy co stars can add to the stress of marriage but you have to have trust and communication. It really tested the strength of their relationship and soon they begin to crumble. This book is seriously a good show of how a good marriage should be, sure they had their issues but what marriage doesn't. I really enjoyed this book

Oh ya! Another 5 star must read from this fantastic author!... This 2nd book in the Jagged Ivory series was just as good as the first :)... Lots of behind the scenes relationships with the band, some angst & drama with some likable characters and others you'll hate!... Long distance relationships, stressful jobs and misunderstandings will keep you guessing on whether second chances will work or not while keeping the pages turning :o ... I was given this book to read in exchange for an honest review, but would definitely buy this author's books at regular prices!

This is book two in the series. It's a really great read.

This is Cory Duttons, Jagged Ivorys guitarist, story. Corys girlfriend is an actress. This is their story of how they deal with their long distance relationship. Is their relationship and trust strong enough to survive?

I love how each book is about different members yet we get to read about all the other characters. Great story. Looking forward to reading book three.

This is a Free Copy for an Honest Review - Good Bad or Otherwise.

Again Lashell delivers with the second book in this series. Cory and Donna are both realistic even though famous in their own right. The bands dynamics along with Lashell's ability to weave and spin a storyline are unique.

This one is almost like watching America's sweetheart (Donna) meets Bad Boy Rocker (Cory) in a reality show.

Jagged Dreams: Cory & Donna's story

I liked Cory Dutton and Donna Devlin from the Jagged Hearts story and was excited to read about them. It was a good read but it was not long enough and I guess I was expecting more. I always like a Lashell Collins story. There's still other Jagged Ivory members whose story can be told, especially Noah's brother Otis. Good read.

Excellent

Me Collins delivers again 😊 an excellent read that is engrossing and enjoyable. Very entertaining. Full believable characters, show casing the other side of the coin for celebrities. Can't wait to read the next in the series.

I have to be honest and say that I was really disappointed by this book. I only give it 2* of 5*. It’s definitely the weakest book in the series, which is a shame because Cory was my favourite character from the first book. He was so cute.

This book follows Cory and Donna’s relationship. He’s the rocker, she’s America’s television sweetheart, about to embark on filming her first hollywood blockbuster. As the story progresses, you discover that for two people who talk all the time, they don’t actually know how to communicate. The story is intended to be an exploration of how the smallest untruths can destroy even the strongest relationships.

I think part of the reason I struggled with it is that the author breaks the massive conflict at the beginning of the book so you know exactly where it’s going. There’s no escalation of the crisis, no shock and emotional impact when it finally does happen quite late on in the book. She also tells you the little twist about Donna’s secret in that prologue too. It takes all of the mystery out of the book, quite neatly bisecting both character arcs and any emotion that might have built up. The last couple of chapters where it all gets tidied up doesn’t really compensate.

Another thing I struggled with was Cory as a character. I just didn’t get his mentality – however much he denied it, he was basically insisting that his dreams were more important than Donna’s, without any regard for the fact that her career is taking off and that her life is changing. I struggled to be sympathetic to his way of thinking and then I got irritated with Donna for feeling like she had to apologise for having the temerity to change her mind according to her circumstances.

The final nail in the coffin for this book as far as I was concerned is that it’s very repetitive. It’s the same argument going round and round in circles for the majority of the book. When they’ve had the same conversation for the fourth or fifth time, it does get a bit boring.

All in all, book 2 was disappointing.

Jagged Dreams is the second book in the Jagged Ivory series. In this book we get the story of Jagged Ivory's rhythm guitarist Cory Dutton and his girlfriend actress Donna Devlin. After being together for 2 years Cory marries Donna and they find that their dreams have changed. Both of their carriers are taking them in different directions and they are finding out that they now are wanting different things then what they had originally planed. On top of that the actions and lies of other people start to mess with their lives and cause major misunderstandings that could bring the end of them.

I love this series. I think it's sweet how the band is a family and each man considers the other a brother. It's also great that you get to learn more about the other members and couples. The book is so well written that you feel like these are real people and you are a part of their every day lives. This series so far has been a joy to read. The books are full of emotions, soul searching, love, romance, tension and forgiveness.

This is a great read and I highly recommend it and the series.

Series reading order....

1. Jagged Hearts
2. Jagged Dreams
3. Jagged Addiction

Copy received for Honest Review.

Jagged dreams is the second book in the Jagged Ivory Series, this time following Corey, Jagged Ivory's rhythm guitarist and his long term girlfriend, actress Donna Delvin who are finally tying the knot...

The story focuses on the ups and downs of adjusting to married life, dealing with high profile careers as well as figuring out if they still have the same dreams as when they first met. Their love, trust and commitment are continually tested throughout the book. I felt like I was rifding the rollercoaster of emotions, as I felt connected to both characters. I loved how all the secondary characters from the series were still a huge part of the book too.

Overall a nice heart felt read that will pull at your emotions, would definitely recommend. I'm looking forward to getting stuck into book 3 in the series!

This is the second book in the jagged ivory series. You don't need to read the others to get this book however I would suggest reading the first book because it was really great.

This book is based around Cory and Donna, who have been dating for a long time and decide to take the next step.

I enjoyed this book, it threw me off a little starting in the future and then going back to the past to get back to the starting point and beyond. Once I got the flow of the book, I did love it. It was a great take on marriage and communication. I feel like these books have more to offer than just a good read, can't wait to start the next one.

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

Where to start?! This is the second book in the Jagged Ivory series, and it have to say it was an emotional roller coaster for me. The characters feel very real as does the situation they find themselves in, and as such, it was a very emotional read. This author is very talented and she has the ability to make you be swept up in the moment along with the characters. I would recommend reading the books in the order they are written, so you have a deeper understanding of the connections between the characters and their storylines. Highly recommended.

I love you, Mr. & Mrs. Dutton! Struggles with marriage are hard. Throw in a whole lot of fame - a rock star life and a movie career taking off - and it gets more complicated. Add in a little communication breakdown and disaster is straight ahead. This story was full of tears and sadness, hope and love, and even more tears. I love the family of Jagged Ivory and with Benji struggling with his addiction, this stress is so difficult. My heart broke in the prologue.

I didn't expect book two to be even better than the first, but what a ride! Donna and Cory have a fairy tale romance...then they get married. Life, dreams, plans, and careers get in the way. So many problems and misunderstandings they may never be able to salvage their relationship. Will they give up on their dreams? You will have to read the book to see!
Great story, well written, with all the gang reunited

As I mentioned in my review of Jagged Hearts, the Jagged Ivory series has quickly become one of my favorite rock star romance series. I love the boys of Jagged Ivory, and the women they fall in love with. Jagged Dreams had me at the edge of my seat the entire time. Cory and Donna's story tugged at my heartstrings and threw me for an emotional loop. It was amazing and beautiful.
