In those few words he has managed to capture precisely why it is so difficult to be human; if it were okay simply to let our hot tempers prevail, life would be so much easier. This is an engaging collection of short plays from several different contemporary American playwrights. Like all of these contemporary play anthologies, it serves as a very good introduction to what is happening right now, in the moment, in the American theatre world. A few of the plays in this volume were decidedly odd, and even silly, but some others were excellent. It's not the best collection of contemporary short plays I've read, but definitely worth checking out.
