Célestine s'ennuie ferme. Pour attirer l'attention d'Ernest, elle fait un potin d'enfer avec deux couvercles de casserole. Et en avant la zique! Ernest se pique au jeu et va chercher ses vieux tambours. Vite rejoints par les petits voisins, ils forment une vraie fanfare. Au bout d'un moment, tout ce petit monde est épuisé. Pour reprendre des forces, rien de tel que le chocolat chaud d'Ernest...

Monique Martin, alias Gabrielle Vincent, was a writer and illustrator of children's books from Belgium. She was born in Brussels on 9 September 1928, and died there on 24 September 2000. Her nom de plume is derived from the first names of her grandparents, Gabrielle and Vincent.

She worked as a painter of water color before beginning a career in the 1980s as an illustrator with the series Ernest et Célestine, adapted for cinema in 2012.

I enjoy very much the drawings of Gabrielle Vincent. In the case of Ernest and Celestine the stories too are pure pleasure.
