Love love love books. Left school at 16 and attended the University of life, worked in London, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Spain working in many different areas, which eventually led me to radio and TV presenting. During this whole time I wrote a daily diary and always harboured an ambition to be a writer.
My first book was an autobiographical account of becoming a Mum, laid the foundation of thinking...hmmmnnn maybe one day I could write fiction and finally in 2019 my dream came true.
After submitting my first fiction novel, New Beginnings At The Birdie and Bramble to Orion I was over the moon to be offered a deal, and to find out they loved it so much they wanted me to write a trilogy.
The series in St Andrews, a beautiful historic Scottish town on the East Coast in a failing restaurant. I am married to a chef, restaurant owner so have been immersed in this world for many years and it is a rich seam of stories, fun and drama.
New Beginnings, the first book is being developed into a TV series, and The 3rd Book, Blue Skies at The Birdie and Bramble is being released on 24th May, 2021. What a year!
Love connection with fellow writers and readers....
Reading this book immediately after having my second child, I did find it very amusing! Parents will relate to lots of things in the book and it is presented in a humorous and engaging way. I liked the diary format as, apart from anything else, it was easy to pick up and put down a few minutes at a time without losing track.
I was given this shortly after I had my first child by someone who had read it 14 years ago while she was pregnant, 4 months into parenthood and some of the entries in the book sound like they are straight out of my life! Funny light read!
