Book 2 of the Darker Side of OZ

The wounds have not healed since Dorothy left Oz. Still raw and bruised she refuses to stay in her own world, haunted by the last thing she saw in the strange land; Scarecrow in flames as Outika, the Western Witch spread her carnivorous creatures through the country.

Clawing her way back to Oz Dorothy sees cities torn apart and the land scarred, as survivors live in fear of Outika’s savage creations. Atoning for unleashing the Western Witch, Dorothy accepts the punishment bestowed upon her by the ruler of the South; to find a boy named Tip - a slave to the arcane Mombi that has fled with his companion Jack pumpkinhead - and escort him to the Northern Witch.

Trying to find Tip before Mombi does, Dorothy seeks the help of her strange friends, finding them far different than she remembers. Pursued by the deranged Mr Jack and the fallen Wizard of Oz, they’re forced across the deadly dessert to a forgotten kingdom. Ruled by the mad Princess Langwidere, cannibalistic wheelers prowl The Land of Ev, and deep beneath it the Nome-king rules over his underworld kingdom.
A tyrant known for enslaving the royal family of Ev, he crushes the life from surface dwellers and adds them to his collection.

Now, Dorothy and her friends must survive the horrors of both Ev and Oz if Tip is to be saved. All the while unknown forces orchestrate the fall of the Emerald City, a plan conceived long before witches and wizards ruled the Land of Oz.

Abaddon will rise, and Dorothy won’t be able to save those closest to her!

About the author

Scott Stanford

7 books8 followers
Scott Stanford was born in a small Welsh village in 1984, and after studying Milton's 'paradise lost', alongside reading Bret Easton Ellis's 'American psycho' started writing himself. His works spanned from epic poems to film, and amidst a number of feature scripts and other projects came a debut novel. Since then he's been working as a novelist, and in a bizarre event even turned down working with Samuel L. Jackson in the process.

Now releasing 'Dorothy: the darker side of Oz' Scott currently lives in Manchester with a curious Harlequin rabbit called Dexter, and Jimmy Joyce (A loveable Labrador).
