Deadly Angels #4

Kiss of Wrath

Rate this book
No wicked wenches or wild rampages…it's been centuries since Mordr the Berserker was turned into a Vangel-a Viking Vampire Angel-as punishment for his sin of wrath, and he's been frustrated ever since. It's not so bad being stuck in modern-day Las Vegas. What better place to slay Lucipires, or demon vampires, than the original Sin City. But then Mordr Sigurdsson's mission is expanded to a new assignment: protect lust-worthy Miranda Hart.

Miranda's well-ordered life turned into chaos when she unexpectedly inherited her late cousin's five children. Now, her cousin's dangerous husband is about to be paroled, and she needs a miracle to keep them all safe. That miracle arrives on her doorstep in the form of a very buff, handsome man with a very strange name. Mordr wants nothing to do with a red-haired wench or children. Miranda wants nothing to do with gorgeous hunk who claims to be a Viking.

As Miranda and Mordr give in to temptation, they must decide if they fit in each other's worlds-before their enemies close in on them.

Another fun read, with some surprisingly interesting characters with real, heartfelt back stories and growth throughout the novel. Kiss of Wrath was just as silly as all the others, but it is the silly season after all; the perfect time to read something mindless.

This is my favorite in the series so far. I loved Mordr and my heart really did hurt for him. Then I really liked Miranda and the 5 kids. I think they were my favorite besides Mordr. I loved how he was with the kids and how they grew together. I like how the Vikings are when they meet there soul mate. I also like that they don't go straight to bed together but you can feel the heat between them. I can't wait to read Zeb's book. I like how all the other characters don't take over the book. I can't wait to read more of this series and Sandra Hill other series.

* You need to have read the previous books to fully enjoy this entry.

More then twelve hundered years after the murder on his childeren and being turned into a vangel, Mordr the Berserker is still angry. So when st. Michael sends him on protection duty for 5 childeren and the aunt who has adopted them, Mordr needs to find his inner peace to complete this task. It doesn't help that Miranda is the cutest woman he ever met and the childeren are in real danger from their criminal biological father.

Pro's:
+ This entry was extremly heartwarming. Mordr was already a favorite of mine in the previous books and I'm so happy he finally got a shot at true happiness with Miranda and the kids. He goes through quite a lot of character progression in this story and it as good to see he was able to let some of his anger go and direct in in other ways.
+ Usually I'm not a fan on childeren in romance novels, but the kids in this book were awesome. Each with their own personality, but all very mischievous and the trouble they get into had me giggling more than once.

Con's:
- There was a bit of an unfinished storyline in my view with the biological father of the childeren. He is said to be fanged by a lucipire, but nobody does anything to save him. Even though it is supposed to be the primary quest of the vangels to save humans from their sins.

After the utter disappointment that was the third entry of this series, I'm so happy to really enjoy the fourth entry again. The humor and the snarkiness was on point again and the progression in the overarching story was also quite substantial. All in all a very enjoyable read and I hope the author can keep the good work going in the coming entries.

Disclaimer: An advanced review copy of this novel was provided by the publisher in exchange for an HONEST review.

I read my first ever Sandra Hill novel over the weekend, and I was immediately stricken with a sense of: “Where has she been all my life?!”

No, seriously…why has NO ONE ever recommended a Sandra Hill novel to me?

But I’m so, so, so glad that I didn’t turn down the ARC for Kiss of Wrath when it was offered to me. I was about to because it was book four in a series and I, at the very least, try to read a series in order. Plus, I wasn’t sure if I would be able to understand all the nuances of the world she’s created, especially since this is book four.

But I really over-thought my decision, in hindsight I feel like I wasted precious time – time I could have been using to start devouring the world of Kiss of Wrath.

My thoughts for this novel can pretty much be summed up in two words: “LOVED IT!” But since I know everyone is eager for a little more detail than that, I’ll also say that it was funny, emotional, and heartbreaking. The heartbreak started the second I read Ms. Hill’s dedication for the novel. I was like, “Oh, s***! This is gonna be a tearjerker!” And I pretty much had tissues on hand.

But the novel wasn’t as tragic as I expected. Don’t get me wrong, the hero’s got plenty of trauma in his past, but this novel was also about healing and I totally enjoyed the funny interactions between Mordr and the children, Mordr and his brothers, and Morder and Miranda.

Mordr has a lot to overcome and had difficulty interacting with the children – all of whom have an inclination towards mayhem – after his own children were killed millennia ago along with his wife. The rage and guilt he felt over the deaths of his family is the main reason he ends up becoming a Vangel (Viking Vampire Angel)…not by choice. St. Michael turned Mordr and his brothers into Vangels as punishment for their sins – each of whom is guilty of one of the seven deadly variety, Mordr’s being wrath. The brother’s have been fighting against the devil and his army of Lucipires, who harvest souls before their time.

Ms. Hill gave the novel a well thought out back story, and I liked the different hybrid aspects of the creatures. And Vangels – that is an insanely awesome name. (Kind of reminds me of Kresley Cole‘s Vemons – demon/vampire hybrids.)

And then of course, there’s the novel’s heroine, Miranda. Miranda’s a career woman who does’t want marriage or children, and at first she’s reluctant to take in her five nieces and nephews, but they have nowhere else to go and she ends up giving them a home. But, after two years of living with the children, she needs some serious backup. It took me a while to warm up to Miranda’s character. There’s nothing wrong with her, she’s nice, caring and clearly a good role model, but Mordr was such an overpowering character that it was hard for me to imagine anyone matching up to him. Miranda was eventually able to prove her mettle to me and it was hard not to like her after a certain point in the novel.

Overall, I enjoyed the uniqueness of this storyline. The characters were vivid and relatable, even to someone who’s never been in their shoes. And now that I’ve finished Kiss of Wrath, I can say that I’m glad I started with book four because now I have something to go back and read instead of waiting – agonizingly – for the next installment, Vampire in Paradise.

I give this book a solid four out of five! Best of all, you won’t have to wait very long to read it, Kiss of Wrath releases tomorrow – May 27th…happy reading!

The Vangel (Viking Vampire Angel) Mordr the Berserker is about to be pushed to his limits when he is sent to protect Miranda Hart and her 5 late cousins' children.

Miranda thought she had her life altogether, a single woman climbing the corporate ladder, when she inherited 5 small children with outrageous personalities and a penchant for mayhem. Once she gets their routine down, she thinks all she has to do is face an angry ex-husband about to get out of jail on parole...but Mordr wouldn't be sent if it wasn't something much bigger...and badder.

Adorably funny, both Miranda and Mordr struggle with this slowly developing and unconventional family unit. Past histories have made Mordr extremely sensitive to dealing with children. When he has no other recourse but to follow the archangel's dictates, we are treated to a front-row seat to his emotional turmoil.

A forbidden attraction, marvelously captivating children, and some seriously dark and depraved evil, all make for a fantastic read in Kiss of Wrath.

I just can't seem to get enough of Sandra Hill's utterly entertaining characters.

For a marvelously, delightfully dark paranormal romance, check out Kiss of Wrath in the Deadly Angels series.

I received this ARC copy of Kiss of Wrath from Avon in exchange for an honest review. This book is set for publication on May 27, 2014.

VIKING VAMPIRE ANGELS!

I repeat VIKING VAMPIRE ANGELS!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

No seriously, this is what the premise of Sandra Hills paranormal romance series is about. I nearly choked on my Fifty Shades of Grey pamphlet (a nod featured in this story) when fellow goodreads member Kitty Sinclair recommended this series to me. Now if you know me, I loves me some God-awful books. It’s a guilty pleasure of mine, so if it’s Chuck Tingle hentai tentacled, dino-porn novel, a book about a haunted vajayjay, or E. L. James, I’m there! This one definitely goes into my five star rating of, “it’s so God-awful that it’s good” category and rating it along the same lines of Sharknado film. It’s truly a wonderfully, worst piece of garbage that you need to read for yourself.
I got the pleasure of downloading the audible book and selected the one with the dumbest synopsis. Single psychologist adopts five kids because their evil bio-father is in prison. Already, I’m thinking five kids in a stable home environment? Really? This sure beats those weave snatching, ratchet baby mamas with ten kids on World Star Hip Hop on Youtube! Now that would be the shit of a plot! Let me tell you!

 photo 1dsv1i_zpscqzoronp.jpg

Enter the Viking Vampire Angel Mordr. He’s some hunky looking guardian, demon kicking, warrior angel who has to protect the main character from evil demon vampires as well as the evil sperm donor the kids call Daddy. Mordr has anger management issues and, naturally, a courtship occurs between the two as Mordr is forced to become a manny and Mr. Mom to these hellion brood. Plus, we know there’s going to be happy ending at the end. Yada yada yada. Oh and did I mention Mordr is described as hunky and quite well endowed? Of course, those are qualities required of a Viking Vampire Angel! Any Viking chubsters getting any love here? Hell no! Only hunky Viking Vampire Angels who are packing a large pistol in their pants do because it fits into romance fantasy world. So suck it!

 photo obese_viking_costume_by_rumpuboy4_zpsekz4gq3e.jpg

Oh and for originality, these Viking Vampire Angels are called Vangels, which basically is combining two names together like Brangelina (pre-divorce) or Peenis (that’s Peta and Katniss in the Hunger Games. Read the book people!) Yes, it’s very original. Oh let’s not forget these Vangel enemies which are referred to as demon vampires (like if there is any other kind). Author Sandra Hill calls them Lucipires (that’s Lucifer and vampire mixed together. It’s like a tangelo but not as sweet.) In her world, Lucipires are monstrous bloodsuckers who hellbent on destroying the world. Remind you of any evil politicians we know?

 photo 1dukg2_zpsthmn8l2e.jpg

To be honest, this series is as hokey as a Honey Boo Boo reality show. The writing is subpar and dialogue is extremely corny. Even the main character is who supposed to be the embodiment of female feminist strength falls into the trappings of a stock, stupid damsel in distress character. With the exception of the kids having better lines than the leads, it’s not very good in terms of a serious paranormal fantasy romance series. Plus, you can start anywhere in this series since the author recaps everything within the background. It’s funny. It makes jab at the campiness of Charlaine Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse but Viking Vampire Angels is as high camp as they come.

If this type demon buttkicking series isn't your thing, then stick with Buffy!

Another fun vangel book from Sandra Hill. Unlike the others, who find time for some fun among their duties, Mordr has been pretty grim in the centuries since becoming a vangel. His sin of wrath came from what happened to his family while he was away from home, and his reaction when he discovered it. He has never forgotten the sight of his murdered children and his grief has never gone away.

Miranda was a successful psychologist with a simple life when she suddenly became the guardian of her cousin's five children. Since then her life has been chaotic, but she wouldn't change it now for any reason. When she hears that her cousin's abusive husband is due to get out of prison, she is worried for their safety. She doesn't expect a miracle in the form of a handsome, sexy man who claims to be there to protect them, but doesn't seem very happy about it,

Mordr has spent the centuries avoiding anything to do with children. Just the sight of a child reminds him of all he has lost. Now he's stuck caring for five of them and their prickly red-haired aunt. His attempts to maintain a distance from them don't last even a day as the kids begin to worm their way past his defenses.

I loved Mordr. I felt for him with the tragedy of his past and completely understood his attempts to avoid anything that would remind him of his pain. He didn't stand a chance against these kids. Each of them has their own unique personality, and each of them goes to work on an aspect of Mordr's misery. I loved seeing him interact with the kids, first simply trying to control the chaos and then being unable to keep from caring for them. I especially loved seeing him with little Linda and how sweet he could be with her. Mordr also had to deal with his reaction to Miranda. His emotions had been pretty well encased in ice since the deaths of his family, but he found himself reacting to Miranda in a way he had never done before, I loved seeing him try to convince himself he didn't even like her, but that didn't last long. His attraction to her was strong and resistance was futile, even though it is forbidden for a vangel to get involved with a human. The heat between Mordr and Miranda was intense. The scenes between went from steamy to funny to heartbreaking as they dealt with the reality that a future between them was impossible.

Miranda was great too. She had started out happy with her single life, never wanting a husband or children. But she couldn't say no to caring for her cousin's kids and now can't imagine her life without them. She needs serious help when her housekeeper/sitter quits and she discovers the kids'father is due to be released from prison. Her first encounter with Mordr is pretty funny as she first feels she has to protect them from this dangerous looking stranger, and then has to fight the sudden attraction she feels for him. Once she accepts his presence it was fun to see her reactions to his strange speech and attitudes. She finds herself falling for him, even after he tells her who and what he is. The feelings just get stronger even though she knows there's no future for them. When he is removed from the mission at the end, her heartbreak and that of the children is intense. I loved what she and the kids did, and archangel Michael's reaction is priceless. The ending was great.

The concurrent story of the vangels' battle against Satan and his Lucipires in Las Vegas was very good. It didn't seem to be as big a part of the story as in previous books, but there was enough there to keep it going. I liked seeing Zeb, the double agent from the previous book, and am keeping my fingers crossed that he stays safe. I'd like to see him get his own story.

I loved seeing Mordr's brothers as they come to help him both with the kids and with the Vegas mission. The teasing among them was fun, and I enjoyed the way they gave Miranda more insight into Mordr and why he is the way he is. I'm looking forward to seeing the other brothers and how they meet their fates.

DNF at 33%

OK, so you may have read me saying before that I do not rate books that I haven't finished. I am bending my own rule for this. If I do not rate this, someone might go by the average rating (a major WHATWHAT to that, by the way), and read this. I think it is an unacceptable book to write in 2014, or read in 2018. I seriously thought it's one of those novels reprinted from 1980, or something. The main protagonist is allegedly a psychologist (also, don't get me started on her saying "as a psychologist" in almost EVERY conversation), but comes off as a complete ditz and a bit of a silly person. The dialogue was weak and cringe-worthy. Who in the history of the world from the 20th century onwards has ever said "well, I wouldn't have almost climaxed if I weren't enjoying myself" or "hey, buster!"? Unless I misread and the modern bit was set in 1970. Who knows? I think I had more issues with the supposedly modern female character, than the 700-year-old Viking vampire angel, actually. And who knew I'd ever type the words Viking vampire angel.

The hell bits were a bit iffy, too, and almost insinuated that being a little adventurous in the bedroom will make you end up in hell. Or that waxing and piercings belong there? I don't know. I just rolled my eyes so much that I was afraid they'd get stuck in that position.

I kind of would've wanted to read about the old-timey and brawny male character becoming a nanny to cute but out-of-control kids, BUT the dialogue between the one-dimensional adult characters was just too unbelievable. I mean, I could get on board with the supernatural bit, but not with anything else.
A complete miss for ME. I just did not like it at all, hence the 1 star. Technically, it doesn't mean that anyone else in the world shouldn't read it, but I couldn't take the idiocy that this book was.

PS authors could do a basic Google search on their protagonists' names. I think the actual Miranda Hart is too well-known to pull off her name in a novel.

The fourth book in the Deadly Angels series is a thrilling read that grips the heart as well as keeps the reader on the edge. The sexy and grim Vangel, Mordr’s latest assignment is the ultimate torture and punishment for the Viking berserker. His mission is to protect a woman with five children in Sin City of all places.

The steady to fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers shivering in anticipation with action, suspense, drama and romance. The author describes the story with well written events and scenes which inspire vivid images and make the reader feel as if they are part of the story and the smoldering forbidden romance between Mordr and Miranda as well as the escalating danger gives the readers thrills and chills. The strong compelling characters are easily related to and grab the reader attention from the very beginning.

The attraction between Miranda and Mordr radiates heat from every page and the sex scenes are a fiery inferno of passion that scorches the reader. The relationship has some barriers as they both resist the heat building between them each for their own reasons. The reader can’t help but get caught up in their stories, especially empathizing with Mordr’s horrible past and admiring Miranda’s courage and loyalty to her cousin’s five kids. The story inspires a few sad moments and the snarky dialogue causes quite a few chuckles all in the middle of lots of dangerous excitement.

The author has created a fascinating world of vampire angels and captivating characters that draw the reader deeper into the story. A super sexy Viking vampire angel who has no trouble slaying Lucipires, is taken off guard by five small children and one red haired human woman makes this story a wonderful combination of humor, danger, suspense and romance and I can’t wait to see what the Archangel Michael has in store for the next Vangel.

I tried reading this book three times before it actually caught my attention. First, it was confusing as hell. I have not read the previous books. Then, it was just to silly to be bothered. But after my third shot of some peach brandy, the silly. Became funny and interesting. I didn't understand half of what went on, but the kids were cute. Sadly this morning, I wake up sober to finish off this book. This book was dumber than I thought. I cannot belive I spent this time. How can you build up the power and abilities of these men. Then they fail when it counts the most. It was like the author forgot to write a few sections, and had to come up with an excuse to fill in the blanks.

After his family is brutally murdered, Mordr goes on a berserk killing rampage to avenge them thus sealing his fate as a Vangel with the deadly sin of wrath. After the death of her cousin, whom she viewed as a sister, Miranda Hart inherits the woman's children. Moving them to her home in Las Vegas, she muddles through for two years until she gets news that her cousin's husband is about to be released from prison. Knowing he blames her for all of his troubles, Roger becomes her latest worry. Enter Mordr whose latest mission is to protect a family in Las Vegas from the great evil bent on harming them. What Michael, the archangel, doesn't tell him is that the family is a woman and FIVE children and he's to be the new nanny! Having avoided children for centuries this is a mission that will test him mightily. Then information comes down that Jasper (King of the Luciperes or Satan's vampires) has a new plan to harvest as many sinners as he can in several casino cities, including Las Vegas. Now he has a couple brothers underfoot who find his circumstances to be amusing and worrisome and his mission is two-fold--keep Miranda and the kids safe and save as many people as possible from Jasper and his minions.

Another riotous adventure with the Viking vampire angels, the Sigurdsson brothers. Mordr had been known as Mordr the Brave until he came from "going-a-Viking", to find everyone in his Keep murdered, including his wife and two precious young children, Kata and Jomar. That is when he went berserk and became Mordr the Beserker. He has avoided children ever since. Despite this, Michael assigns him to protect Dr. Miranda Hart and her "adopted?" 5 children, who she inherited from her cousin, after she died from cancer, and are now endanger from their father. If Michael really was serious about the brothers having relationships with human women, why does he keep putting them in situations where they meet their intended mates?

As entertaining as the other books in the series. Great characters, humorous dialogue and unique scenario.

I enjoyed this 4th Deadly Angels novel. It focused on Mordr who became a beserker after his family was murdered while he was away a-viking. He practically annihilated the family responsible for his children and wife's deaths even distant and innocent members of that extended family. That was how he became a vangel. Being assigned to Miranda Hart and her five adopted children was a blow to his grief-stricken soul. He was sent to protect them from the children's father who had been in prison.

👍

This story had all the elements of the past brothers encounters as well as real life issues involving sickness, abuse, murder, porn and just plain evil. This story had to be very challenging to write. But damn it was good. Oh, I guess I need a quarter for the swear jar!

Let’s go ‘a-Viking’ with Sandra Hill! Kiss of Wrath is a summer must-read!

I’m not sure why I hadn’t read Sandra Hill’s Viking series before, but the past week I caught up with her books (the Viking II and Cajun series) as well as her vampire angels in Deadly Angels. I’m glad I saved Deadly Angels for last as in the second and third books in this series (Kiss of Surrender & Kiss of Temptation), Hill takes readers back to her SEALS in Coranado from Viking II and Tante Lulu and the LeDeux's from Cajun's respectively.

I really enjoy reading these three series as Hill marries the stories with quite a bit of humor. I was laughing out loud more times than I could count, but along with the humor is a sensitivity and such caring that some characters just find their way into your heart. It can’t be easy to juggle so many characters and story lines from book to book, but Hill does so with ease.

While her Viking II series finds time traveling Vikings (of male and/or female persuasion) paired with Navy SEALS and/or WEALS (the feminine SEAL teams), her Cajun series follows the loves of the LeDeux’s, the fantabulous Tante Lulu, and some assorted friends. I have to admit that when I finished the Viking II series I was disappointed that some of the SEAL teams' stories (Cage’s, Sly’s, Geek, etc.) weren’t yet told - thankfully we catch up with them again in Kiss of Surrender and do hope that we’ll see them return soon!

If you, like me, haven’t yet entered Sandra Hill’s world, do. It’s the perfect fun summer read filled with uber-hunky Vikings; heroines that are independent, sassy, and pretty darn brilliant; and stories that are complex yet filled with humor and a great deal of warmth. I’ll confess that I found many of the books through my library’s Overdrive collection - and what titles weren’t there were purchased via Amazon.

Once you read the Viking II and the Cajun books, then check out her Deadly Angels. I love Hill’s story of how the seven Sigurdsson brothers have been chosen to battle demon vampires - and perhaps find redemption for each of their seven deadly sins - under the oversight of that angel of angel’s, Michael.

Beginning with Vikar in his castle Transylvania, Pennsylvania (Kiss of Pride: A Deadly Angels Book), followed by the Vangel Navy SEAL Trond (Kiss of Surrender: A Deadly Angels Book, on sale for $0.99 right now), lusty Ivak whose penance is serving as a prison minister - at Louisiana’s Angola (Kiss of Temptation: A Deadly Angels Book), and most recently morose Mordr’s journey to sinful Las Vegas to save a psychologist who “inherited” her cousin’s five children (Kiss of Wrath: A Deadly Angels Book) … each of these stories offers the reader a book full of laughter, love, suspense, and yes, some faith and hope.

I have to admit that Kiss of Wrath's Mordr is one of those heroes we all like to love. Brooding, angry, yet if one looks closely you can see the hurt that caused him to close off. Who wouldn’t want to redeem this Viking? He’s paired with Miranda Hart, who once was driven only by career goals and then found herself a mother five times over when her cousin died. To see how she opened up with the love of the five children is quite moving, but even more fun to see their effect on Mordr.

When Jasper and his army of demon angels move to target sinners in Vegas (yes, a few on every corner), danger increases from just the threat of the abusive husband/father of the children, Roger. Can Mordr save them? If so, can they find love together or will Michael and the rules against Vangels engaging and loving human’s prevail? Hill keeps you on the edge of your seat as the pages in the Kindle fly by to find out the answer.

So check out Sandra Hill this summer and make sure to have some nice cool lemonade or sweet tea by your side as these books can get a little steamy (umm, Viking heroes - and Viking “S” spots, you know they’re hot!). Keep an eye out for the next installments in this series, Christmas in Transylvania: A Deadly Angels Novella (Oct 28 2014) and Sigurd's story in Vampire in Paradise: A Deadly Angels Book (Nov 25 2014) that is previewed at the end of Kiss of Wrath.

Five stars for Kiss of Wrath: A Deadly Angels Book, the newest installment to Hill’s Deadly Angel’s series. Let’s all go a-Viking now!

The latest scrumptious Deadly Angels story by Sandra Hill. I love, love, love this entire series! Taken from my review at RomanceJunkies.com:

After a year away from home while pillaging, Mordr Sigurdsson, aka Mordr the Berserker, and his men return to find that they are three weeks too late. Mordr’s wife has been raped and killed, along with his two young children. Grief-stricken, he goes on a killing rampage and ends up dying. But St. Michael has a plan for him and his six brothers, who are each guilty of one of the seven deadly sins. To fight the luciperes, Lucifer’s vampire demons, the archangel turns the brothers into vangels, Viking vampire angels, and sends them off to the present day. Whereas the lucipires have been ordered by Satan to harvest human souls before their time, before they have a chance to repent, it is up to the vangels to fight the demon vampires and save the humans. Now, with St. Michael about to arrive for a visit, the vangels congregate at their headquarters – a castle in Transylvania, Pennsylvania. At the meeting, the archangel informs Mordr that his next assignment is in Las Vegas where there is a family that needs protection.

Psychologist Miranda Hart is not interested in marriage or having children. All she wants is her career. But when her cousin, whose husband had been abusing her and her children and is now serving a prison term for it, dies and leaves her five children to Miranda, she cannot turn them away. However, two years later, after losing her cook/housekeeper, Miranda is finding it hard to keep up with her career and a family. At her wit’s end, she desperately needs help. To make matters worse, the children’s father is about to get out of prison and wants nothing more than her death.

Since the death of his wife and children, Mordr has avoided children and no other woman has interested him. So being around Miranda’s five children is torture, plus he finds his libido being stirred due to his attraction to her. Will he risk his heart once more? Will he be able to protect Miranda and her children against not only the children’s ex-con father, but also against the luciperes?

I cannot say enough for author Sandra Hill’s DEADLY ANGELS series. Every book is a delight and just as I think she cannot pen another book to compare to her last one, she proves me wrong. KISS OF WRATH, the fourth book in her series, will touch you, at times, and at others, will have you laughing out loud. I particularly love how Ms. Hill incorporates Tante Lulu, from some of her previous books, as well as the rest of the brothers into this story. Also, just imagine Lizzie Borden as the disgruntled cook for the vangels. Ms. Hill may sometimes touch on dark issues, but she lightens them through other qualities. This may produce a tearful moment here and there, but overall, it will leave you with a smile on your face. In the midst of evil, Ms. Hill introduces the sweetness and unique qualities of five adorable children as she enthralls readers with her latest DEADLY ANGELS tale.

Reaching the end of this story left me with mixed emotions. I enjoyed seeing how Mordr and Miranda’s story worked out, but at the same time, I hated to leave the story and the characters behind. This is the mark of a great book and a truly gifted author. That is one reason why Ms. Hill is at the top of my list of must-read authors. Anyone interested in a book packed with emotions, imaginative characters, sizzling heat, humor, sass, love and the paranormal, as well as some serious issues, such as domestic abuse, rape and pedophiles when good and evil collide, needs to give KISS OF WRATH a try. I am sure you will soon be back to pick up the rest of the stories in this series; KISS OF SURRENDER, KISS OF PRIDE and KISS OF TEMPTATION.

I love the Vangels and Mordr's pain broke my heart but his transformation was angelic.

Miranda Hart never expected to become a mother overnight and certainly not to five rambunctious children – three boys and two girls. Now she’s got a full house, and has just discovered the children’s dangerous father is about to be released from a prison halfway house. She also needs a new nanny for the kids, preferably one who can keep them safe as well as well-behaved. So far, none of the candidates has been the answer to her prayers, at least until she comes home to discover a gorgeous Viking ruling the house with an iron hand.

Mordr Sigurdsson is not a happy Viking Vampire Angel. He hasn’t been a man of good humor since he came home from a-Viking to discover his village destroyed, and his children brutally murdered. Seeking vengeance, Mordr allowed the Sin of Wrath to swallow him by way of his grief, and so Michael the Archangel gave him the chance to become a Vangel and work off his sin or head straight to Hell and into the clutches of Satan. Mordr, along with his six brothers, decided to take on the mission of the VIK, but now Michael’s given him a new mission – Miranda Hart. Not only is he supposed to protect a woman who has sparked his libido for the first time in over a thousand years, but she also has five children who remind him every moment of his beloved own, and their brutal deaths. He’s wondering how he’ll survive it all even as he begins to care about the sexy redhead and her five bratlings.

Sandra Hill brings a sense of intense grief to Mordr, which immediately has us wanting to hug him and give him comfort in his loss of his darlings, Kata and Jomar, but which also helps us understand his Sin of Wrath. His grief for them is so strong he carries it even as he tries to deal with the five Jessup children – touching them, especially little Linda, makes him feel faint. Yes, faint.

KISS OF WRATH by Sandra Hill is a wonderful addition to the Deadly Angels series featuring the sexiest Vangels, or Vampire Angels, to grace the pages of a book series. Even with the angst of grief, the fear of children in danger, and Mordr’s Sin of Wrath, which he uses to battle the Lucipires or demon vampires, Sandra gives us humor and levity to offset the touchingly sad aspects of Mordr Sigurdsson’s story. The cast of characters in this Deadly Angels novel goes beyond the usual and even the unusual. The children are the funniest, most annoying, delightful, and lovable kids ever and it’s not difficult to understand how both Miranda and Mordr fall head over heels in love with them all.

I highly recommend KISS OF WRATH, book four of the Deadly Angels series by Sandra Hill to all who love paranormal, to all who are fans of Lynsay Sand’s Argeneau series, and to anyone who hasn’t dipped their toes into the world of the slightly fantastic but still true to life reality, created by this talented author. Even if you aren’t a fan of paranormal, or have never tried any, check out the Deadly Angels series and do yourself a favor by falling in love with the sexiest Viking Vampire Angels ever, and learn their stories – sin by sin.
